Thanks for the congrats girls on my weightloss. I don't think I will ever, ever see a 4 1/2 lb weightloss in a week again.

Petra, I have very, very bad knees. Up until about 2 1/2 weeks ago I was walking 1 1/2 miles with WATP videos 2x a day. For a total of 3 miles. But I was in agony and had to stop (sad face). I had to give it a rest for awhile. Now I am doing some crazy stuff to keep moving. I walk in spurts of 5 - 20 minutes many times a day. (I work from my home). I only do the 20 mins once a day and spurts of 5 mins, 7 mins, 10 mins and 15 throughout the course of the day. At some point I will have to face up to the fact that the only way I can get any good cardio in is with the nasty elliptical machine. I also do lots of sit ups every other day and leg and arm work on the other. Stretching every day. I usually walk outdoors everyday as well to do my errands, but haven't the past few days - too cold and ice everywhere. I have a pedometer and it reminds me to just keep moving, so that's what I do - I am constantly in motion. Even while I'm on the computer.

Bobbo, I started the meal with a bowl of Red Lentil Soup. Then I served baked chicken with tons of onions. A stir-fry with tons of veggies including spinach, mushrooms, broccoli, green beans and red pepper. Roasted asparagus (my new fav). A salad consisting of tiny diced cucumbers, plum tomatoes and onions in a lemon oregano/black pepper dressing. Dessert was a cut up pineapple. I sent them home with some leftovers.

Wellits the start to another week and I have done my scale today before going out to breakfast with the girls of course. But I was the same but okay with maintaining since a week agos loss. I stayed within a good calorie limit today even with a breakfast buffet which served as a two meal calorie counter. Then this evening did well with just a sandwich and a skinny cow ice cream. Keep up the good work girls and thanks for the warm welcome.

Well my calories for today are alittle below 1000. I am going to workout on the gazelle at 8. I wanna try and do it for a full hour while I am watching a TV show.

Rockinrobin- Are those Walk away the pounds tapes good? I have heard some about them. Do they sell them at stores?

Talk to y'all tomorrow!!

Good morning fellow calorie counters. It's nice to see so many new faces here. Welcome, welcome.

Petra, I LOVE the WATP tapes. They are quick and easy to follow and very doable. I bought mine from ebay.

Hmmm, Monday's calories, hard one to gauge. I had some leftovers from Sunday so I couldn't exactly tell if my stir fry had 4 ozs of chicken breast or 8. I'm gonna go with 1400, could be 1300, could be 1500. Whatever. Today I will be making my food from scratch and I will know exactly what's in them. On one hand I love leftovers and on the other - not so much.

Have a great day everyone.

Ok, I'm finally back on track and catching up on this thread, which grows so quickly!

I went back and read about Diva's experience at the restaurant with the ex. A suggestion for next time... if he comes up to you and says "I never loved you" you stand up smiling, extend your hand in a handshake and say "I'm sorry... your name again?"

I'm going to attempt something that I'm not totally sure will work, but I'm trying it anyway. I find my worst time for keeping my calories in line is lunch. I get stressed and only have 30 mins so I often will ditch my nice healthy salad and go for convenience and comfort - fast food. When I slip into that mode it's very hard for me to get back out of. So at the grocery store yesterday I stopped at the Slim Fast aisle and stared at their shakes for a while. It isn't a "life change" to do Slim Fast, but part of me feels that I need that strictness, just at one meal, to get me through until I snap out of this craving. I'm not going to keep any cash or my ATM card on me. In fact I'm thinking of getting a gas card so I never have to have my ATM with me. It may seem stupid and extreme but you have no idea how good I am at justifying that "one last time" at McDonalds or Taco Bell. Ugh.

So, trying it today. We'll see how it goes and how it fits into my calorie count.

I took a couple of replacement bars with me to work last night. It beat the heck out of rummaging thru the cookie tin at 10 o'click at night.
We adapt, Smartbutt. Yes, we do.

Yesterday my calories were 2155. My boss took us out to Chilis and all self control went out the window, I had appetizer, entree and dessert. I am back on track and going to try and stay low calorie the rest of the week to make up for that huge splurge.

Petra - I saw the WATP tapes at Wal-Mart this weekend. You could probably get them there or at Wal-Mart

Smartbutt- I don't carry a debit or cash with me either. It forces me to eat the lunch I bring and has really kept me on track.

Smartbutt- I understand about the being able to justify just one more time at the fast food places. I am very lucky that I got moved to another office and am the only one here. So I don't have people asking if I want what they are having for lunch. Plus I don't like to be gone to long. So I always eat what I brought to work. I think that has helped me quite a bit. Good luck with the slim fast. Last time I tasted one of them I couldn't even get it down. But everyone has different taste buds.

I had a good weekend calorie-wise and yet the scale is up. I'll pat myself on the back for stopping at 1 glass of wine last night. As long as I choose my snacks wisely today, my calories should be low--around 1200.

I forgot to mention that my 2 sisters and I went into Brookstone the other day and saw the most hysterical "exercise" equipment. It looked somewhat like a short bicycle with no pedals or handles. Just a seat on something holding it up. My younger sister and I sat down, turned them on, and the seat started bucking and vibrating somewhat like a horse. We couldn't stop laughing. My older sister was making all sorts of dirty jokes about the device, and we agreed this was something only desperate women would be interested in! hehehe

We also saw this old man trying out one of those belts that vibrate and supposedly take off your love handles... just like those scam ones they sold back in the 50s! It's sad that these things are being sold again.

Anyway, I highly recommend the first device. Not so much for weight loss.. but for those cold, lonely nights... hahahaha.

Smartbutt good idea on the lunches. I try to take my lunch most of the time but have to use a lot of variety. Some of the girls buy the junk from the little store too. But most of it is unhealthy. Once in awhile I too like the junk on a stress day. I try to preplan my menu for the day it helps me to stick to it sometimes I adjust it but have an idea to what will be ate. The shakes aren't so bad if you have a freezer stick them in for a little bit extra cold tastes better. I would still need to munch on something how about an apple or pear? Let us know how you do. Maybe I should try it for once in awhile at least the cals are all counted for yah. I liked your story about the visit to the store funny! I had a pretty good day today with my calories. Tonight I ate a skinny cow ice cream sandwich only 120 cals and had lots of ice water. Scale day is friday.

Forget the lunches, I'd go with that exercise machine LOL!

Just wanted to say hi to everyone.

Diva, that is such BS, do NOT believe the hype, he is just trying to hurt you by saying mean things. Obviously he felt something to stay with you for 8 years..duh Mr. Ex?!

Smartbutt, let us know how the slimfast goes. For me I'd be famished on it. Luckily, New York city has more nonfast food non-chain restaurants..its much farther to get to a McD's than to a million other places right at my office building's doorstep..so you can go healthy if you want. I get fresh roasted turkey w/ slice of cheese on whole grain w/ romaine and tomato w/ a bit of vinegar..usually have half around 12pm and the other half around 3 or 4pm. I've been on a sandwich kick at home too because its fast and its a low calorie meal.

On a low note, I'm not really losing much lately..no wonder when I'm eating like 2000 calories. Today I stayed at 1700, which is remarkable for me and my huge appetite. I've just got to keep it down. I burned around 600 at the gym too so today was finally a good day.

First day on the slim-fast lunch plan. Breakfast was South Beach cereal with 2% milk. I think I'm mixing every diet that exists, hehehe.

For a snack I had a special K bar, but I think I'm going to replace that with an apple with cheese, because it wasn't filling at all. Only 90 calories and delicious, but not filling.

Lunch was the slimfast shake, which was delicious (oddly enough) and I had a banana with that. Yummm! I have a fridge with a freezer in our break room so I stuck it in the freezer for 30 mins before I drank it.

I was famished by dinner time, so I may have to re-think my snacks. Maybe have the banana later or something. However, at the end of the day I feel fine, and wound up with 1400 calories. Although there's some diet ice cream calling my name and I just may have a scoop.
