Hi Smartbutt,
I have a slimfast shake for breakfast nearly every day, my mornings are usually pretty busy so i find it quick and easy to just have a shake and go.
Ugh, I feel like all I've done this weekend is eat. We went out Friday night and I was so hungry from being busy at work and skipping lunch. I know that's a no-no, but it happens more often than I like. Yesterday was almost as bad, but I know it was less than 1800 calories. This week will be very busy at work again, I'll be working through lunch the first 4 days of the week. I always keep a couple of cans of Slimfast handy for those occasions, so I will have to grab them. I am determined to get at least another pound off this week. With these good recipes I've read about on here, I will need to start cooking more.
I didn't leave the house until this afternoon after we cleaned out our driveway. The snow here was less than a foot over the last two days Bobbi and Chloeone. I got my exercise today shoveling off the deck so the Yorkies could run and play without disappearing in the snow. They looked like little snowballs when they came in from their short walk outside this morning.
calories for the day: 1570
officially one week on track for me..yea
only bad part is my herniated disc in my back is getting worse...i'm off to get another MRI tomorrow after class
Woodlily: don't know the total snowfall here, all I know is it was really hard getting my little car around on the unplowed streets today I love the whiteness that is everywhere though!
cablgurl: does a slimfast shake fill you up for awhile? i would love the simplicity of it, I just don't know if 'drinking' breakfast would curb my hunger that I always have in the morning...How does your satisfaction compare when you have slimfast breakfasts vs. when you have a 'real food' breakfast?
Morning everyone it was a busy few days of shopping. I am looking for a dress for my daughters June wedding. Oh I feel the time is creeping close. So I have started to schedule myself for working out at the gym. I will do it mon, wed, fri. this will help by putting it into my work week schedule. Hope your all doing well. I have started to have more fiber in my diet it helps to keep me full and satisfied. I start my mornings during the week off with 1 slice of sprout toast 5 fibers, then kashi flaxseed and almond cereal with 8 fibers. So it seems to be working. I tried the shakes before and they work for me when I have no time to eat. But having something to crunch seems to satisfy my body more. Well good luck girls and keep up the good work. At least with trying on clothes this week end it didn't depress me and I was a size 12 and 10 would be nice but the broad shoulders will never let that happen in a dress. The lower part is a 10 most of the time lately so no grips there. Now if I could shed the extra lbs. by June I would feel wonderful. I am shooting for around 1400 to 1500 cals a day. Been bette about my water intake lately I drink it regardless to what is said it helps me feel full and helps when I have a craving no cals.
cacmsc, how exciting - your daughter's getting married!!!!! Congratulations.
chloeone, I am so sorry to hear about your back. I hope you get some relief - QUICKLY.
I don't know those slimfasts just don't satify me. I think for me I am better off chewing my calories.
Weigh-in was this morning. I am down 2 lbs and have just hit the 100lb. lost mark. So I'm kinda excited. That's a nice big chunk gone. Still got lots more to work on though. But I am relieved to get that first 100 pounds over and done with. Oh my gosh, 100 lbs and I'm no where near done ........ Yikes.
i'm off to class and running late...but I couldn't leave without saying a big CONGRATS to rockinrobin on your 100lb mark! that is SO awesome....what an accomplishment!! you deserve to treat yourself (a non food treat of course )....i am so proud of you and I don't even know you. wow. what dedication. yea for you.
Greeting from the Land of Snow! It's still snowing and we're snowed in. DH said the snow blower won't be able to clear the snow because of the heavyness of it. In another words, we shovel! At least I'll get my exercise in today.
Sunday's Calories...1,119 Fat...33% Fiber...56 grams DH was hungry for Breakfast sausage and pancakes, something I love but don't eat often because of the fat and calories. I made turkey sausage which was lower in fat but not by much and used egg whites and soy milk in the pancakes. I also cut the canola oil in the batter to two tablespoons instead of 1/4 cup. I whipped the egg whites and folded them into the batter this time and the pancakes were so light and fluffy, I could have eaten a ton of them.
Hi everyone, just a few quick remarks before I go outside. Chloe...I was always jealous that we didn't have a Trader Joes in our area, I just checked their web site and we only have one in Minnesota, St Louis Park. Another one is coming soon in Maple Grove, but after hearing about moldy food I think I'll not fret about it.
Allison...Did you find the Flat Out wraps yet?
Robin...Wow, Congratulations on the 100 pounds! That is awesome! Have you lost it all by counting calories?
Cablgurl... I've never eaten a Krispy Kreme donut before, I just checked their web site and was floored by the calories and fat. The chocolate cream filled was 350 calories and 20 grams of fat! Holy Cow! Glad we don't have these in our area.

A great way to start the day is you're too busy to cook.
Woodlily...I love Yorkies, my friend has two of them and she takes them to the nursing home while working. All the residents look forward to seeing them. I have a large Male English setter and he didn't want to go outside this morning. We have huge drifts in front of all three outside doors. I had to shovel a small path for him to get out.
Cacmsc...I was wondering how you dared look for a dress if the wedding is a few months away? You could possibly be down a couple of sizes by then. I had a few months to down-size before my daughters wedding and it was such a great motivator that I dropped down to a size 6. Of course I didn't stay that low! By the way, many women would love to have your broad shoulders and slim hips. Clothes always looks good on people built like you, make the most of it girl!
Bobbi~I found the Flat Out wraps, but they only had the light in the Italian flavor and that didn't sound too good. I'll try another store later this week. They do look more substantial than a tortilla!
Calories were good yesterday, but the scale God is not happy with me. Tonight we're going out to dinner to celebrate MIL's bday and then off to a Dallas Brass concert at DD's school.
chloeone: I usually have a snack about an hour or 2 after breakfast so the shake is enough to keep me satisfied until then. I use the powder shakes and i used to use 1% milk but found I would still be hungry so I changed to 2% (which is what they recommend on the tin) and I use 10 oz of milk instead of 8 oz and it seems to work for me now.
Hello everyone. My cals for Saturday were 1405 and Sunday 1285. I was bad though and Mickey D's both days. Had a craving. But that is past now and today is another day. I am rather tired today and think I might be getting a cold or something. Luckily we didn't get the snow that they said we would get!!! So I am pretty happy about that. But I am ready for the spring, tired of looking at all the white stuff. Plus I want to start painting and doing stuff to my house, but don't want to do it when I can't open the windows.
Thanks ladies for the congrats. It means a lot to me. Since I've got so long to go still, it really makes it much more pleasant. Thanks again.
And yes Bobbolink, I've been calorie counting the whole time. Is there any other way? Of course I say this in the safe confines of the calorie counters forum. I wouldn't dare say it anywhere else. Today marks 25 weeks for me.
Wow, 25 weeks, that's not even 6 months! And 100 pounds!?!?!? That is totally awesome! That's, that's, that's like 4 pounds a week! OMG! And I can't even get these last 8-10 off!
Congrats Robin!! I too am realizing the ease of calorie counting.
My weigh in was this morning and I am officially 177 pounds. Thus that is a 14 pound weight loss since my start date of Jan. 29. I've been averaging a 2.5 pound loss a week. So hopefully, I am in the groove. My first goal was to get down to 170 pounds before my birthday (april 10), but it looks like I'm going to have to change that goal real soon.
I ate out at Red Lobster and the Cheesecake factory this weekend. However, I ordered "healthy items":
Red Lobster: 1 pound of Snow Crab legs and seasoned broccoli. Lettuce with caesar dressing on the side. NO cheddar biscuits.
Cheesecake factory. Lettuce wraps (split with my husband as an appetizer) and a spicy chicken salad (the salad was guaranteed to be under 600 calories, but I ate half of it for dinner and hald of it for lunch the next day). Those lettuce wraps were so good.
