QOTD: I make a good turkey chili that is completely OP. Haven't made it in ages though - now I think I will this week!

Just a real quick post tonight, since it is late. I have been on the go since after work. Went shopping for bras. All I can say is OMG!!! Tried Kohl's, about 10 styles. No luck. Went to Victoria's, got measured correctly. Tried about a dozen. YUCK!! Don't know why a D cup wants to be all hanging out and supported on a shoestring strap. Went to Penny's with the correct size in mind now. Tried another dozen and found one I think will work. How can this be so difficult? I hate boobs.

Got home after BL started, so I saw about an hour and 15 min. I was also doing laundry during the show. Just now got a moment to post and read. Sorry we lost the weigh-in. I tried my hardest. CONGRATS BLUEEYE!!!

Going to update my exercise for the day. I will try to get more personal tomorrow.

Day three of being completely on plan DONE! Plus I walked for 47 mins, and did 3 miles while DD was at dance class. Then I did the LC WO. , marched in place, did 50 pushups, 50 JJ's, and 25 bicycle crunches..then stretch... ahhh... it feels good to be on plan.

Mandey - I'm SO glad that I joined Fitness Pal! It is helping me SO much! And the fact that it figures the net cals for you is PERFECT! I just need to keep this up! :)

I'm thinking about joing a friend of mine and 2 of her friends 3 days a week at her house for workouts. Her husband is a personal trainer, and is getting back into the business (he used to be a trainer for the UofM college football team, but left when his father needed help). The catch is - IT'S AT 5:30 AM!!! I would LOVE to do it.. but I have a hard enough time getting up for work and being there at 7:30 am... I don't know if I could get up at 5, leave the house coherent enough to drive across town - and then work out for 45 minutes - come back home, get a shower, get ready for work get DD ready for school all by 7 am to leave for work on time! AHH!!!

What are your thoughts? Anyone???

Okay, the NS has to go back. I can't find enough things I like to eat! The fish thing totally ruined it for me...lol!

Back to counting points for me!

ArmyWife02 10-21-2008 11:25 PM

well i just finished watching TBL, can't wait for next week. i cried some, as usual. it's such an emotional rollercoaster.
my chore for today was to do 20 minutes on my Ball during the show....I did 6.5 minutes - but I did about 110 crunches (different kinds to reach different ab muscles) and 10 pushups on my ball during the show.
that's a big accomplishment in itself. I know i didn't hit my minute goal, but i havent done that many crunches in one day in forever, possibly ever ;) so i'm okay with it. so i guess i'll just list that i did about 1/4 of a day today...lol oh well, better luck tomorrow.

ArmyWife02 10-21-2008 11:31 PM

I should be getting Get Ripped with jari Love tomorrow from netflix,,,never tried her workouts, but they sound great and different...anyone tried this workout before?? lmk what you thought of it. i am excited adn nervous....i'm used to my Leslie, so anyone else is an adjustment....i like my Denise Austin pilates but i just cant stand her voice and she's peppy in a bubbly way and that reminds me of DH's ex'g/f and that annoys me....lol i know i'm weird. lol
well, i'm gonna check my ebay stuff (posted hubby's gamecube and 360) and then play some myspace mobsters and go to bed ;) lol

modcat44 10-21-2008 11:36 PM

hey guys--just back yesterday from my out-of-town trip. Sorry I had to take a pass this week on the weigh-in, but really, I was eating the most horrible stuff. I feel so much fatter, and I'm not checking the scale until Friday, I've decided.

At least I did two runs, 3 miles and 4 miles, while back in Chicago.

My we had a LOT of posts and a new thread while I was gone!

My exercise challenge--26 out of a planned 27 days--not too bad and what has really been helping me to lose. Jumped back on the bandwagon today, ate really minimally and will do so again tomorrow to offset the overeating! I am hoping to show at least NO GAIN next weigh-in!

Too much to read, will try to come back later to post personals. Watching TBL now!

happy2bme 10-22-2008 12:02 AM

Bummer that we didn't take the 3-peat this week. :( I did try a little harder too.

As several people have said, it hurts when we don't get everyone weighing in so let's go do some door knocking for next week.

Thank you Enygirl for the last chance workout. That was a good one and much appreciated!

Well... this is a great opportunity to work with a trainer. The hardest part is getting out of bed in the (increasingly) cold and dark. At least at that time the traffic won't be so bad. It sounds like your time is going to be really tight so you will have to plan ahead and have your workout gear ready when you get up as well as your lunch, work clothes and DD stuff ready too. I'd say give it a try for 1 week and see how it goes. It can be done. I used to be a night owl myself and had to turn things around when I realized that the only time I'd get a good workout in was first thing in the morning. The words of successful losers ring in my ears - if you want it bad enough, you'll find a way to do it. Best of luck to you!

I get up early every morning. Even weekends. Sometimes it's just to get up with the dogs (they wake up at 0430 every morning, no matter what) and about half the time it is to go to the gym. Is it doable? Yes. Do you want to do it? Maybe. View it as a Biggest Loser challenge - if those three days a week were all that you had to try to lose weight before going home - could you do it?

As well, just think of it as being DONE with your before you even get to work for the day.

But that being said - I'm a morning person so maybe it's easier for me...

Enygirl 10-22-2008 08:51 AM

I decided that I'm going to at least attempt to go next week to my friends early morning training session. It would be AWESOME for me - but this way I have a little bit of time to prepare my body. I'm going to get up tomorrow and over the weekend early (at least earlier then normal) and do my workout first thing and see how it goes.

I'm definately NOT a morning person, and since DH is a complete night owl I usually stay up late with him since it's the only time we get to ourselves.

This being a grown up thing is tough! ;)

Mandey - I have the Get Ripped with Jari Love (tried it on netflix then purchased it.) I also got her Slim and Lean dvd later. I had never done any weight training and the first time I tried it I was sore for a week! (I use 5 pound weights) I really like them and feel like I get a really good workout. (I haven't done them in a while and need to get back to it!)

I have a very low tolerance for "pep" when I am working out...Denise drives me insane! :D Jari is very low key. I've read that some people find her boring but I reallly like her. I hope you enjoy. You should get a pretty good workout! ;)

In the spirit of Jillian (and my secret obsession to be - or at least look - just like her) We're going to follow her plan that she does during her 30 Day Shred.

1. WARM UP: March in place for the entire commercial break. Get your blood flowing. :)
2. STRENGTH: Do as many Pushups as you can. They can be wall, counter, knees or full plank.. Whatever you can do to build up strength!
3. CARDIO: No Modification on this one... START JUMPING! That's right - do as many Jumping Jacks as you can!
4. ABS: Get down on the floor and start doing bicycle crunches. Do as many as you can, and remember DON'T PULL YOUR NECK!
5. COOL DOWN: Stretch out you muscles. Nice long even stretches... don't bounce. :)

OK that's the Challenge if you choose to accept it... of course you're always welcome to modify it, or make up your own! Let's BURN SOME CALORIES WHILE WATCHING THE SHOW!!!

My computer contracted a bad virus yesterday so I didn't get to get on and see what the posted last chance workout was but I did get up and march during the commercial breaks. I feel pretty proud of myself since this is the first last chance work i have actually done.

Hey everybody!

Misty - Congratulations on being BL!!! Whoo-hoo!!

I'm sorry I've been so "gone." We still don't have internet. The new install date is Friday but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm still in a legal battle with the ex over child support. He's hired the most cut-throat lawyer in town and I'm representing myself. Thank God my sister can help me.

I'm working from the minute I get up to the minute I go to bed. After 18 months of being "off", I'm having a hard time getting back into a schedule balancing everything.

As far as weight . . . I'm just maintaining. Haven't been working out, but I want to change that TODAY. I want to get back on track and start participating again. I'm TIRED of being sick and tired and ready to start losing again.

I thought, after losing about 45 pounds, that I'd learned to put myself first. BUT, as soon as things got really hectic in my life, I put myself back at the end of the line.

So, here I am, looking for balance . . . AGAIN! :)

The turkey chili sounds awesome!!

Enygirl 10-22-2008 10:44 AM

GG - I'VE MISSED YOU! I'm sorry to hear that things haven't gotten any easier on your end!

Hopefully I'll be seeing more of you! Life isn't the same w/ out my friendly competition.. although letting myself get back up into the upper #180s AGAIN probably wasn't the best choice either!

Tina30 10-22-2008 11:30 AM

Good morning ladies~ Well day 3 of my exercise done:) I did Shred Monday and I swear I'm still sore from it!LOL! I should of known Jillian was no nonsense!LOL! Eating has been OP also, so hoping for a good week. TOM is due any day now though, so that won't be a big help with my weight. Today I'm hanging around home doing laundry and picking up the house a bit. Nothing too major though. This weekend we're having grandparents over for Kyle and Joey's b-day celebration. Other then that though nothing going on this weekend. A pretty boring week all together, but that's okay things will start getting hectic enough with the holidays around the corner. Well I'm off to vaccum and shower before Kyle gets home. Have a wonderful day ladies~
