You did AWESOME on the challenge! Keep up the good work! and a smaller size! SIZE 16!! :woo: That's AWESOME!!!

He. He. Why not? Isn't chocolate a food group? :D

My favourite food in the Autumn hands down is soup. I looove soup. I can grab a bowl of boiling hot soup, nurse it for a long time and just feel so warm and happy.

Hmmm... Think I'll hit the soup pot for dinner... :hun:

So, a so-so day, today. I am mostly on track... Mostly. I did eat some Dorts, about 300 calories worth and snacked on a little bit of stew. I was having a tough time of it; stress was kicking my arse and I was trying to comfort feed. I didn't do any real damage. And I didn't let it blow out to an all out binge-fest. But, I am still turning to inappropriate eating, when I need comfort or to forget something that is bothering me. And that isn't good.

Does anyone have a 2X4? Maybe a good swift whack upside my thick head will ram the message home. :dizzy::lol:

I was all psyched to begin the new exercise challenge. I really enjoyed the last one. And, while I didn't ace it, I did a heck of a lot better than I expected I would do. Then, wham! I murdered my tiny baby toe on my right foot, this morning. I was stepping around a fan on my bathroom floor (pile carpet in a bathroom... You just know that decision was made by a man...) and I smashed my foot against the wall of the shower stall and my baby toe slammed into the wall and into the gap in the moulding. I felt a crunch. My toe went numb for a while then the pain set in. It is swollen, black and blue underneath and very sore, indeed. I can walk on it, provided I don't try to put on a pair of shoes. Working out will be out of the question for a while. Just when exercise was really becoming a habit and a part of my life, this happens.

I'll just have to stay on track and do extra vacuuming and other housework to get a little exercise, each day until I can pick back up with my cardio.

I am pleased that, in spite of my crappy eating last week, I still managed to dump another three pounds. I know all that exercise helped.

I hope everyone had a great Monday.

Hugs to everyone who needs or wants one.

I also battle depression, and honestly I know the crawling into bed and never getting out feeling! I've been fighting it big time for about 3 weeks!

I don't have a 2x4 for you - but how about a nice :kickbutt: We both need to GET IT IN GEAR!

I was able to get several nice pairs of size 10 pants (:woohoo:), a nice coat that is totally me (and 50% off), several blouses, and boots (I could zip them over my calves!!!) It feels SO great to be back in clothes that actually fit me, plus I look a LOT smaller now. It was awesome!! And I think that this week will be great too, I'm already showing a teeny little loss, and it has only been one day. :D :D :D

A SIZE 10!! THAT'S AWESOME!!! :yay: Keep it up - and your teeny loss could turn into a BIG one! :goodscale:

My birthday is Nov 4, my goal was to be 189. I did 30/30 days of exercise:) To bad we don't have any money for me to treat myself to something special. Damn economy. One thing I have to work on ladies is loving and accepting myself. I am really struggling with that. I mean worse then I did 30 pounds ago:?: Anyone have this happen?

Great job on the #2! You can hit your Birthday goal! :woo: I completely understand the money issues! I'm to the point where I don't even want to LOOK at my bank statement because it's justy DESPRESSING!!!

I also have a harder time accepting myself now then when I was big. It was easy for me to hide behind all the fat before and be antisocail and not deal with people. Now I like the way I look more, but people notice me more and it makes me scrutinize myself! UGH!

I did my "chores" yesterday - and so far today is good too! I forgot my lunch on the counter :( so i'm going to have to figure out something for lunch. This morning I was down #3.4 from Friday - which is GREAT. I know a lot of it is TOM leaving... but I'll take it! It's nice to be back UNDER my SW for this challenge! I'm going to keep pressing forward! I'm also looking forward to a nice long walk this evening while DD is at dance class and the LC challenge tonight :)

WTG on the great ego boost and I'm glad you had a great day of shopping....I'm considering going to the goodwill soon for some jeans (my neighbor got some jeans there for $4, which is cheaper than my normal $30 at old navy per pair)....with the economy like it is right now, goodwill will be seeing a lot more of me, and might drop a van load off for donation (to make up for what i'll take from the store on my shopping trips) :) LOL

technically i didn't do the 20 minutes of pilates like i had planned....but i burned more calories in 10 minutes of wrestling my dog to try to clip his nails....so does that count? since i burned mroe calories than my pilates?? ;) lol i don't think i could have handled wrestling him for 10 more minutes. lol he's about 100 lbs and was dragging me all over the carport on my butt (literally) since i was trying to get him to lay down so i could do his nails. whew, i was winded and exausted after that. whew! lol make for an interesting evening with my neighbor laughing at me being dragged around, she tried to help me but he pulled her and me both around the carport. LOL it was funny ;) great heartrate raiser ;) LOL

Mandey - I think it DEFINATELY counts for something! I did a 1 mile walk w/ Leslie, and 15 mins of core workout. I'm DEFINATELY feeling it this morning! Tonight i'm walking during DD's dance class (weather permitting) and then LC Challenge during the show.

Good Morning Red Team. Sorry I haven't been around for a few days. I've got bronchitis and I've been doing a whole lot of nothing!! I'm off on vacation this week so great way to start that!! Hopefully it'll be better in a day or two so I can start the new challenge. I totally sucked at the last one and am hoping that doing it week to week will work better for me. I'm really struggling with the weight loss but am determined not to give up on me. I too was way more comfortable with myself when I weighed 211 compared to now. It was just so easy to hide behind the clothes and stay invisible. Now people notice me more and I'm just not ready to accept it. I too am working on loving myself more.

QOTD: In the fall I love hearty meals. Not that they are the greatest diet wise but they certainly make me feel all warm and comfy inside. Of course after I eat a meal like that all I want to do is vegetate on the couch!! So maybe not the greatest choice after all.

Congrats to everyone on their losses this week. And to those of us that either maintained or gained - don't give up. Let's keep putting one foot in front of the other and get to our goals. Remember slow and steady wins the race!!

I'll be back later. Have a good day ladies and be good to yourselves.

Then I tried on my size 12 Christmas blouse that I bought some time ago and it almost fits. I could actually wear it now if I had to but it will look better with another few pounds gone. My size 10 jeans are almost wearable in public and a size 12 skirt I bought can zipper up but not wearable yet. A dress I've had for 3 years finally fits and I'm going to wear it this Thursday night when I do a vegetarian cooking demo at a health seminar my church is presenting. I have bones sticking out of my body that didn't exist in January when I started all this. (Well, the bones were there, you know what I mean.) No turning back now. I have no big clothes left except a few t-shirts I work out in and the dress I wore to my son's wedding and I'm not wearing that again.

Yikes, Rain Dancer!! That toe sounds really painful. Hope it mends quickly for your sake.

It's a dreary, rainy day here and so damp and cold. Yesterday was the perfect day and today the opposite so I'll have to do my walk/jog inside today. I'm just sitting here a few minutes to let breakfast digest a little before I start to exercise.

I got in one more exercise session before the old challenge ended and ended up with an extra day 23/22 but it overlapped with the new challenge. Yesterday, I felt so tired I could hardly get in my circuit workout, especially the cardio part. Last week I was doing 25 jumping jacks and yesterday I could barely get 12 done. I'm getting old when a weekend away from home does me in. Ha, ha.

Have a good on plan day, everyone.

Hey!!! What's up with that? Come on, REDS!!!!! Let's knock this out!!

I had a pretty good day, yesterday. A little higher in the calories than normal but not too bad. No exercise and won't be getting any for a few days, at least. (Stupid toe...) I am still hoping to have an okay week, tho. I think if I stick to plan and walk around my house as briskly as possible while doing housework and so forth, that will help.

Thanks for the :kickbutt:, Eny. I needed that. :D

Last Chance Workout

LAST CHANCE WORKOUT

Since Melissa has asked to have some help on this forum I am posting this week's LAST CHANCE WORKOUT to be done during the commercials of tonights show.

In the spirit of Jillian (and my secret obsession to be - or at least look - just like her) We're going to follow her plan that she does during her 30 Day Shred.

1. WARM UP: March in place for the entire commercial break. Get your blood flowing. :)
2. STRENGTH: Do as many Pushups as you can. They can be wall, counter, knees or full plank.. Whatever you can do to build up strength!
3. CARDIO: No Modification on this one... START JUMPING! That's right - do as many Jumping Jacks as you can!
4. ABS: Get down on the floor and start doing bicycle crunches. Do as many as you can, and remember DON'T PULL YOUR NECK!
5. COOL DOWN: Stretch out you muscles. Nice long even stretches... don't bounce. :)

OK that's the Challenge if you choose to accept it... of course you're always welcome to modify it, or make up your own! Let's BURN SOME CALORIES WHILE WATCHING THE SHOW!!!

Good morning RED Team!

Wow. Looks like we had a lot of freebies and gains this week. Looks like our team needs: :kickbutt:
Or do some of us need...? :frypan:

Come on guys. Don't quit! We are a family and we can do this!

Lets have a great day!

MonteCristo 10-21-2008 12:14 PM

Congrats blueyedlvrgirl on being the biggest loser!!

cakses 10-21-2008 12:57 PM

Well I guess my extra exercise after work paid off last night. Scale is down another pound. One more to go this week!

Not sure how I am going to fit in my cardio today, but it might just have to be a WATP video and some hand weights because I have no time to stay at the Y today after work or after the kids' classes and I have to rush home just to make dinner for everyone so DH can take DS to Scouts at 7. Phew! It's days like these I wish I still had my treadmill...oh well!

ArmyWife02 10-21-2008 01:06 PM

i just updated my chores list....i think i can stick to this one....i make it more general on some days (like listing cardio, so i can have more options)....so today is to do stability ball workouts for at least 20 minutes during TBL (since i fast forward thru commercials), might try a few low impact 'chores' form teh LCW listed here....we'll see. but goal is a ball workout. i pumped up my ball last night, so it's ready to go. it had deflated some from me always sitting on it while on my laptop....
i CAN do this! I WILL do this! Go RED!!

ceegee 10-21-2008 01:42 PM

I read the label and sure enough, in the fudge graham bar was FISH!!! Sardine, tilapia, and anchovy to be exact!!!!!!!
Blech blech blech.
LOL

You would be surprised at how many things they stick it in - check out the ingredient label on some of the yogurts - fish and beef. Gross!!!!

retiredone 10-21-2008 03:17 PM

Hi again RED TEAM. We didn't win the Weigh In and that's all right but I'm a bit disappointed at the number of people who did not weigh in and had to be given Freebies. Let's all try to be more diligent at weighing in next week. It's the team effort and the support from posting that counts more than winning and when the team works together we are winners whether or not we win the weigh in. OK, that's my sermon for the week.

blueyedlvrgirl, you did good this week. Congratulations on being the Biggest Loser.

I love the LCW. I'm going to try to do it for another program because I don't get TBL. I'm going to have to double bra for the jumping jacks. :D

Whenever I see added omega fats in food I always look for fish/fish oils added. I bought whole wheat wraps that were supposed to be high in omega fats. When I got them home I just happened to check the ingredient list and sure enough there was fish oil. I didn't eat them because I'm vegetarian so I always check now. I think fish in the bar is gross though. Yuck.

CONGRATULATIONS MISTY ON BEING THE BIGGEST LOSER!!!! :carrot::cb::bravo::cheer::cheer2:

miriam101 10-21-2008 06:39 PM

Haha on the fudge bar! I read the ingredients of a yogurt I was in love with - just to find out that it had FISH in it - - eeergh!!!

Other than that - HOLIDAYS ARE OVER!!! Time to get back to real life :)

What Fall Time ON PLAN Food is your favorite? (No the halloween candy you steal from your kids doesn't count!)

Mine would have to be my chicken chili. It has 218 calories per serving. It fills you up, tastes great, AND is even BETTER the next day! yummy!!!! :hun:

The only favorite healthy food I can think of for fall would be a big pot of vegetable soup. It's very filling and is also better the next day.
