Hey all! Just checking in!! Taking the kids up the river to float down today.

I'm in "countdown mode." They leave to spend the rest of the summer with their father in 7 days . . . I hate it. HATE IT!

Happy day everybody!!

Oh Smurf that is the worst...I've had that many times in my life. Just looked up EuroCalm--which has Valerian root in it. I was curious about it. That does work for a lot of people. (I work in the natural pharmacy biz--and hear the stories.)

I take Gaba (an amino acid) on nights when I cannot sleep, and sometimes even just to make sure I DO sleep. Google: Gaba Sleep, and you will get a bunch of stuff. Not everyone thinks it works, however.

As with all supplements though, it is important to find a reputable brand that is standardized, meaning they test to make sure the same amount of ingredient is in EACH capsule or tab so you know what you are actually swallowing. (No big rah, rah internet hype cheap brands-those can be scary!) Some brands I like are Integrative Therapeutics, Jarrow Formulas, Wise Woman Herbals, PhytoPharmica, BHI/Heel Homeopathics. Most natural food stores have some good ones in the "pharmacy" section.

I am also quirky and have rituals about sleep, clean sheets, the pillows just so, fan on, etc. Sometimes I put an earplug in one ear (you can still hear out of the other one but it helps muffle slightly) or put on a sleep mask which helps me to just "tune out" sensory stuff in the room--lights and the clock etc. I have no electronic stuff around me (but DH does on his side). I also take my calcium supplement at night before bed (the whole warm milk theory)

I hope you are able to get some rest SOON!

Hi everyone...
Hope you had a GREAT weekend! I want to thank everyone for the kind words and encouragement. I get so frustrated sometimes when I don't see the results I feel like I deserve. The other day my mom said as much as I exercise and watch what I eat, I should be a beanpole. And it's true, but I'm not, I guess I just have to work even harder. I have done at least 30 mins of exercise for 7 days in a row! I guess my body finally had to give in...down 2 lbs this morning! I guess I actually am doing something right! As for a check-up, I am going to make an appt and see if maybe there is something going on. Maybe getting an outside view of things will help me with my perspective.

Don't have much time, but just wanted to say thanks to everyone and let you know things have improved (for the moment). Have a great day everyone!

Thanks for the reminder about today being the last day for posting our weights Manick!

SoulBliss, love your quote!

More later to others.

I feel I'm back on track (down a pound!!!). I had a physical a few weeks ago and I got back the results. I thought I had hypothyroidism, but now I'm not sure...it's hard to explain, but my results were confusing. So, now that I'm fairly sure it's not my thyroid holding back my weight loss efforts, I'm going to continue and just be happy with slow progress. I plan to change a few things too, which should help.

Hope everyone has a great week!!!

Hello everyone!!! I just realized I have been MIA since Sat. early morning but it was a very busy weekend. I have been super busy today as well and really need to head to bed as I have to get up and be on the road at 3:30 a.m. but I really am not to tired right now and that is what is holding me back. I will try to catch up tomorrow afternoon as I think I am behind like 2 pages. Everyone have a great night.

Oh Yeah I have been doing 30 day shred and it is great, I will be starting level 2 on Wednesday or maybe even tomorrow to see if I am ready to go to level 2.

hey everyone!

Congrats to everyone who posted losses this week I lost 3 pounds. Seems to be the norm with me, not like I'm complaining. hehe. Had an amazing run. I ran for 3 miles but it was one of those runs where I could have run forever...

Anyways today I went shopping for some new clothes. My old ones are starting to look goofy on me. I went to this store that buys and sells name brand clothing and got tons of quality clothes for a very cheap. Let's just say I'm going to be stylin'.

My only problem with shopping is that I love shopping for shirts because I like my upper body, but I hate trying on jeans because my lower half is evil. So I just got all shirts and one dress. In a few weeks I think its jean shopping time haha. I've lost a lot on my lower body though, which is awesome. Before at 250 pounds I really don't know what my size was because once I grew out of my size 18 jeans I refused to get into the 20's and wore sweatpants as I continued to grow. But now at 194 pounds I went into the Gap today and put on a pair of size 16 pants and they looked like clown pants. Then at Aeropostale I fit into a size 13/14 pants. I'm prolly a tight 14 right now depending on the store. My body isn't built to be a size 2 or even a size 8, and I accept that. My ultimate goal is a 10 or 12. I've realized its all about setting realistic goals for yourself. A size 0 isn't the ideal destination for everyone. At my height, I would look disgusting as a size 0. I looked at a pair of size 0 tall jeans once, not a pretty sight. But anyways its odd that at 194 pounds I'm fitting into 13/14's, because I used to be about 185 at my lightest and never got lower than a size 15/16. This just goes to show what a big difference working out can make I guess. I'm leaner than ever.

Ok enough rambling everyone's ear (eyes?) off. As you can tell, I like writing. Haha.

Hi Black Team,
It's been another busy week and weekend and we started Vacation Bible School this week, the second one I've been a part of in the last 3 weeks. Thursday I'm going with my Neice (who is like a daughter to me) to her ultrasound, she's 20 weeks along and very very high risk, but so far it looks like se will make it to term. it's going to be a 3-d ultrasound and I think it will be really cool to see. They didn't have that when I had mine.
Still no word from my son Jon, I expect he will get his phone back when he starts training, he did basic training last summer so he will have a lot more freedom.
I hope everyone has a great week, and I'll get a chance to post more later in the week.

Bette, 3D Ultrasound is really cool. When I was preg with my DD, I could've got one done if I paid extra but since I was going to the hospital on the post, I didn't want to pay extra. I did see one of my friend's and it's so real. I will be praying for her that everything will go okay.

glitterlicious, I am totally with you about how working out helps with the size! At 187, I can wear clothes that I wore at 165-170. All the thanks to the working out! =)

Hi guys! Sorry, I've been really busy lately...that has started to happen starting on Thursdays because of new committments. I forgot to weigh in yesterday, I had it in my calendar and completely spaced. I think because today I am having a tooth pulled and they are going to be putting in a bridge and I am scared...I have a phobia of the dentist (sorry orthodiva! ). I will probably start crying while I am in the chair, I've had tears roll down my face while in the chair before. Anyway, that's at 8:30am today. I will try to get back on later and catch up a little, poke my head in and say hi.

Have a great day everyone! btw, Soul did an interesting veggie twist on my chili recipe over on the healthy eating thread...check it out! Who says you can't have chili in the summer??? They have Christmas sales in July!
