Good morning ladies~ I'm soooo happy it's Friday! Tomorrow Kev and I are going hiking, and I can't wait. A day without kids is something we don't get very much, so I'm really looking forward to it. I still have this nagging little cough that won't go away. It's just enough to be annoying, but not serious enough for a doctor visit. The kids have been driving me insane this week. Not sure why this week, but they just seem super wound up. I think they are all ready for summer break. Today I'm going to finish my cleaning and do weights later on. That's about it though. The sun is out today, so that makes me happy. Tonight I'm going to take my kids and my sisters kid pictures and have one blown up for our mom for Mother's Day. I asked my mom for some ideas and she tells me underware.....don't ya think that is something you would buy yourself. She was like "that is what I need" okay then underware it isLOL! My mom is a little different. She also said some summer pj's so that will be a little funner to buy I hope all you moms have a fantastic weekend. Enjoy your day To all you ladies who aren't moms you have a fantastic weekend also!

Rennie- I always say I'm going to throw my scale out the window....I haven't done it yet, but one of these days it's bound to happenLOL! Have a great weekend~

Jen- Are you looking to do different machines besides the treadmill? I love the gym, but for some it's just not their cup of tea. Maybe you could see it they have a trial month or something you could sign up for? Let us know what ya come up with

Cat- 3am Lord I'm still in a coma at that time!

Veggielady- I love storms, but when they start to get strong I get super nervous also. I'm glad everything is okay.

wkgirl- Great job on getting that walk in even with all that going on! I think I would have a heart attack if I saw a bear on my property

Mandey- I want to get a new scale, but I'm scared I won't like what it says!LOL! I figure even if mine is wrong as long as it goes down I'm loosing weight right? If ya get a new one let me know how you like it.

Have a wonderful day ladies~

Argh!! I'm hating my scale today! I weigh every day. I know, I know, but it's what works for me. I've gained for the past four days now! I'm eating right, exercising more than usual. It's very frustrating. I can handle it staying the same, or creeping up a little bit, but I've gone up 3 pounds in four days!! To repeat, it's very frustrating!!

I know it will go back down again, but I'm using Saturday's weight for the challenge, and I don't want to go up. It won't help our numbers at all!

Thanks for letting me vent.

Morning Ladies....Happy Friday to Ya !!

Scale - we bought a new one at the first of the year and it weighed 7 lbs heavier....uggggggggg

Gym - I agree, see if they have a month trial period. I joined the 24 Hour Fitness on the 1st floor of the building I work in, and I think I have been there maybe 6 times....in 4 years. Thank goodness they are a chain and there are 3 of them that I pass by on the drive home. I use those almost everyday.

I have read all the posts for the past couple of days and I am dizzy with comments and responses....But first - Thanks to everyone for their kind words and positive thoughts. The Hospice is indeed where Lucile will live out the rest of her days, she has come to terms with that, as long as they agreed to let her have her afternoon High Ball...and the Hospice is assuring us that they will be "honored" to care for her for as long as she needs. We are looking to be on a plane either today or tomorrow so that we can be by her side until the end.

Stay strong ladies...and remember, the hard work we do now may allow us all to lead happy and full 92 year old lives.

My scales were up today too....but I haven't been on plan. Actually Wednesday is the only day I was off plan....and I didn't do it by a small amount either. I weigh on Mondays so I'm hoping that I can at least get back down to even by eating clean this weekend.

Has anyone ever seen the scales that don't have numbers on them? I saw one on tv where it just gives you a name of the person who weighs that weight, but you don't know what the weight is. It would be good for those who don't want to be scale addicts and just want to gauge if they are down or up. I tried to google it, but I have no idea what to put in to find it.

Also, I've heard of people who will put it on kg instead of pounds to gauge progress without being numbers obsessed. That may be a good idea for maintenance (of course I'm scale obsessed so it may drive me crazy!)

TGIF!!!

Tina, enjoy your day with DH, it sounds like alot of fun! I totally know what you mean about barely getting out alone when you've got little ones at home. It hasn't been just until this year that dh & I started going out and leaving the kids at home. DS is going on 16 and really responsible so we leave him in charge of his sisters. So-far-so-good, no one's been strung up yet when we've gotten home. LOL

Vanetta, I'm happy to hear that the hospice is happy to take care of her til her time. I can imagine that is a huge relief on the rest of the family. And yes, the highball is a MUST! Best wishes to you as you journey 'home' to visit with her.

Jen, gotta agree, maybe a trial memebership would be good for ya? And definitely, freebie stuff is always a good plan! I give you giant kudos though for trying to find things to do while you're at work! Oh! And on msn, Bob Harper has a lineup of stuff you can actually do in the office and get a good workout in.....just using the space in your office. Maybe an idea?

csChick, aw I'm sorry you're disappointed with the scale. It sucks, I know! You are right tho', it WILL go down. I had this happen to me at the end of the last TBL challenge, I was working SO hard, and losing consistently and for no apparent reason the scale jumped 5 pounds on its own. No matter what I did it wouldn't budge. Sadly, I let it get to me and I ended up gaining some more on top of that. Don't do that! Hang in there, you are doing fabulous!

Cathy, dontcha just love those school trips at the crack of dawn? lol My 6th grader just had one too where we were up like you to take her. Hope you got your rest and are raring to go when he gets home, I'm sure he'll have plenty to share with you!

wkgrl, I would just keep using the scale that you use the most. Luckily the numbers aren't totally off, at least you will know if you are losing and that's all that matters!

Tera, glad everything is alright. I know it must've been nerve wracking to sit thru it all. You're not alone, I am a worry wart too!

Happy Friday girls!

Well, I've had a tough week. I am a bit unhappy in my relationship right now and it's been hard to stay OP. I am also stressed out about money, as usual. I was good with eating 1 day this week, and the rest were bad. The only good thing has been my exercise, so at least I have that. It's very hard not to turn to food for comfort when I have nothing else.

Anyway, my exercise today:
30 minutes WATP 2 miles
20 abs, pushups, legs (Resistance ball)
20 minutes Free weights- Arms, Back, & Chest

70 minutes Total

Tomorrow we have the Dollywood thing, so hopefully I can just relax and have some fun, but I swear to God, if Jess checks out other girls like he did last year, I WILL go off! He needs to learn to appreciate ME and check ME out! I am busting my a$$ to improve myself, a little recognition from him would be nice....Ok....I don't even want to get started with him.....
I have about 25 more minutes to go on the Week 2 Exercise thread, so I am sure the 5 to 6 hours of walking up & down hills @ Dollywood in the bright sun will take care of that.

Have a Great weekend ladies....I need a

Hi Everyone -

I had a killer exercise day yesterday. I did an hour run plus a short walk to cool down. Then I had a masters swim class, but I had to walk there and it's a 40 minute walk each way, and in class of course it was "kick drill" day so my legs were exhausted by the end of the day. I zonked out on the sofa and was useless! No wonder though! Hey at least I finished off my red badge and then some!

Today is supposed to be a bike ride of about 1.5 hours. Trying to muster up the energy to get out the door.

On the bright side the weight loss looks really good this week so I'm psyched.

Hiya!

I just wanted to check in really quick. I didn't post yesterday. I'm going away this weekend, and we were supposed to leave tomorrow but we decided at the last minute to leave tonight. So I'm doing tons of laundry, and cleaning my house is nice and clean when we come home, and all I'll have to do is unpack. I've been 100% on plan! I'm so sorry I don't have the time to do personals but promise to catch up with everyone sometime tonight or tomorrow. I miss talking with everyone (I hate having alot to do)! Have a great day and be good to yourselves!

Hi to you red teamers!!
So , i'm sticking to one scale!! Thanks! (its just a bummer when I do my weigh ins at the gym(curves), seems like Ive gained weight!! lol), but I was the 5th biggest loser there last month!
Have another busy day coming up, but thought I would check in quick,
will try to get to personals tonight!
I was on a site where you put in all your activity for the day,(a healthy me .com) and it counts your calories for you....these things arent that accurate are they?? It Says for the activity I did yesterday, that I would need 3900+ calories!! I am breastfeeding, and pretty active, but ???? thats a lot of calories!!

Well, heres to having a great weekend, so we can rock the next weigh in
!
GO Red GO!

"that I would need 3900+"

Ah if that were only true... I could do that EASILY. Well I guess that's obvious if you look at my start weight. Don't put too much stock in those calorie suggestions. Just do what works for your body.

Also I agree stick to ONE scale and try and make it the same time of day. The curves scale is likely different because of the time difference and food intake...

I just got enough min in to get my badge too!
What is WATP????

I love you workout. I don't do as much weight training as you do
Here is what I did today:
75 min of Spin Class at the gym followed by Ab work.....with 8# med ball, toss back and forth with friend while doing crunches then pass back and forth while twisting left in crunch, then right in crunch. Repeat for 3 sets of 12, no rest. Then do lower ab by holding fit ball between knees and doing lower crunches. Then Fit ball standard crunch and around the world.

I'm impressed by all of you have gotten your badges. I'm feeling frustrated because I just can't seem to get the time in. I don't know if it's because of working 2 jobs or what. I've not been slacking. I've gotten 5 hours in already which I should (and would be) proud of, but I just don't think I'm going to be able to get all my minutes in. Even on my most active week, 7 hours of exercise is stretching it for me. I may have to bow out of that part of the challenge because I'm just frustrating myself. I will continue trying but I don't know that I'm going to be able to get an additional 2 1/2 hours in in the next 2 days.

I don't want this to come off as complaining because I think the challenge is great. I guess I'm just frustrated with myself right now. My eating's not been great either. I don't know what my problem is. I know better. I need to snap out of it!

me and the neighbors are exahusted from this week's workouts...so next week we're just gonna do 4 miles each day mon-fri and break from the weights to recover from this week...then get back into the weights the following week. but the WATP walks are awesome and are a total body workout legs/abs/arms/butt plus cardio love it! might just do two of my two mile dvds each day next week till i get my 4 miles dvds in the mail (i already have the express - use a stretchie band, and the regular - use the weights).....so excited,
hubby's taking us (me and kids) to the PX later tonight for my dumbbells and other items for my gifts
won a pink stability 65cm ball/dvd on ebay and its been shipped. and my calorie king counter book and my walkers journal (sansone) should arrive next week too.
might rejoin the walk club from leslie's website...its been years since i was in the club and loved it (and esp now that its only $30/yr instead of $17/3months).....anyone wanna join me? LOL see yall later on...
oh sorry for babbling....i'm just sooo excited lol oh and this is day 3 of no smoking for me and i havent been tempted yet...i think the exercise is really helping to curb the cravings - even while hubby's still smoking outside with us....i kinda want one, but then think about all the work i've been doing this week with eating healthier (at least snacks - i bought lots of fruits yesterday!!!) and all the working out (almost half my may 1000minutes goal already) i'm so proud of me and i dont wanna mess up. hubby thinks i'm overdoing it, with the great exercise and watching calories/healthy foods and quit smoking all at once in the same week...but i'm feeling spunky and great and happy about my choices scale isnt moving much, but hope its just alllllll the water i've been drinking and building muscles.
