Where were you?? Did you get to watch it???
I was 7 years old and in 2nd grade. I was in school and no we didn't get to watch it. We heard all about it and for the next few days we had decorated t-shirts to honor the Challenger and it's crew.

Melissa, here's another tidbit from Fast Food Nation, specifically the chapter on chicken: McDonald's chicken nuggets have more beef fat per ounce than a hamburger. Craziness!

I was 16, a jr, in high school and home sick that day. I remember watching it live- so upsetting!!

Hope everyone is gung ho to start a great week! I just had a bit of cookie dough, lol- but I am DONE! I did the first run of week 4 of C25K- I was sooo nervous with 2 ea/3 min and 5 min runs, but I did it!!! And it really wasn't that bad. I was done another 1.6 lbs- which I think is a bit more because it was on a new scale and in the afternoon (after my run and drinking 30 oz of water...). Still have my cleaning job to do tonight which is always a workout with all the mopping I have to do in the winter!

Speaking of winter- it's horrible here!! Our high today was -20 F! yikes! With wind chill it was -44. Just wrong! SUpposed to be cold through Wednesday and then it will be a balmy 20, lol. I can't believe I live here by choice sometimes! LOL

Laura- congrats on the half marathon! That is so cool.

Melissa- congrats on starting week 2, you can do it!!

I really like the WATP dvds too- I recently got the 5 minute something or other from Costco- came with some weights and stretchy bands for arm work. I'm also trying to get back into to t-tapp. www.t-tapp.com I've had great results from the workout, but get a bit burnt out too.

ANyway- off to work. Brrr!

Hi everyone.

Just got back from a half hour walk with hubby...sure is cold out there, mind you the fresh air felt grat. Don't really have much time for personals but I did want to pop in and say hello to everybody as I haven't had a chance to chat since Friday. It was a busy weekend as my sister moved houses so we were helping her out.

Well, I decided to start Weight Watchers on my own that is so today was my first day keeoping track of my points. I am still looking into counting calories and once I investigate it more closely may decide to chage over or maybe I can incorporate both...I just want ed to commit myself to something as I need to be accountable so right now WW it is. A bit confusing but I guess once I get used to it, it won't be as challenging.

Well goodnight everybody and here's to hopefully winning another challenge...regardless we are all winners!

I have the 1, 2 & 3 pound WATP's. I like 2 the best. 1 is too short and 3 is ok too. I also have WATP's Walk & Kick and it's good. my butt and legs are always sore after that one. I have Fat burner Walk 2 as well, but I haven't done that one yet. I LOVE Leslie too but sometimes I throw in some of my own music and mute her, lol! Wtg on starting WW! very good luck to you!

Mel, I watched your little running video! I am sooooooooo proud of you girlfriend!!!! You rock!

Muse- I track my calories on fitday.com and am reading YOU on a Diet. I am basically trying to eat clean, smart and watching portions. I can't really do diets...I have to make it a lifestyle.

jelynn - WTG on week 4 of the c25k! I am so envious of you and Mel. I wanna do it so bad, but we got hit with a fine on our taxes and didn't get enuff back for a treadmill. I don't think running in place in my living room is going to cut it. The only track around is at the high school. I wonder if I can use that? Maybe I'll call them?... It's too hilly and mountainie (new word, LOL) around here. I do good just to walk around my neighborhood, lol!

Sorry to everyone having TOM or fixing to have TOm. Sucks being a girl sometimes....

Hugs Everyone!

I was volunteering at school during the Challenger accident. I was in my son's classroom and we were watching it on TV.

I love WATP videos too! I like the Walk Slim series, the 5 mile advanced, the Walk and Kick, and The express series. They are great. The walk slim series has one with just Leslie and the pink stretchie band. It is a really good toning workout - and a nice compliment to the walking videos.

We got rain tonight - yucky cold rain. I'm glad we went skiing yesterday!

Good luck to everyone on your weigh-in. It sounds like we had another great week

Bella
More than welcome, happy if anything I said helped. Oh my gosh, I remember when we bought our house and had to move. I would rather walk on hot coals than move again lol. Very nice of you to help your sister move. Any of the 1 and 2 miles are good. I am doing 3 miles ones now too. I like the expresses and walk away your waistline, don't want to sounds like an advertisement for Leslie but I love her. She is so motivational. The heart healthy and the one for the abs is great too. I am sure there are a great many good exercise videos out there. I just happen to like her because they don't look or sound like someone yelled CUT and they redid a part over. Also, I don't have to have an ambulance waiting incase I hurt myself. My gosh, I have seen a few videos that I couldn't move my body like that without a pain pill waiting for me when I finished the video lol.

Jel
We are replacing many of the carpets with wood floors. Oh my gosh I was happy to find scrubbing floors on your hands and knees ( is there any other way to do it ) burns a lot of calories. Doesn't seem like such a job now since I know it is helping to burn off the bum lol.

Sugar
I swear there are muscles in my toes lol. I had no idea when I started to do these videos that I had muscles I forgot I had lol.

Have to say every three or four months I have my double bacon cheese burger at Burger King. This isn't about doing without. This is about eating right and every now and then having a yummy that isn't good for us. That is what a yummy is lol. I did find the last time I had one, I couldn't eat the whole thing, only about half. Next time, hubby has decided he will order accordingly since he knows he will get to eat half of my hamburger. If someone had told me a few short months ago ( think about it, 8 months is nothing compared to a few years being over weight ) I would be full after half a double bacon cheese burger or that I wouldn't be able to finish a small Arbys regular roast beef and a small curly fry. I would have told them they were crazy.

DOT lol my daughter calls it that. You know . ( dot ). I said dot? she said you know . this isn't a period of time it is . the end of something like a sentence. it STOPS everything lol. My husband and son are sure glad I don't have PMS. They keep saying they are going to stay at Bubba's hotel, because a week is a terrible thing to waste lol. I want to go too. No one wants to be around her including me lol.

Sara...I'm so sorry, I totally forgot to get that quick start info to you, but now that I look at it, it isnt at all what I thought it was. So really no help anyway. I really love WW, I love the structure of staying within points, but I can eat whatever I want...as long as I make it fit my points. And then to have those flex points so you can enjoy if need be. Why didnt I do this a long time ago? LOL! Good luck to you!! I hope this gets that darn scale moving again!

Laura..that is so gross!! My littlest one likes those nuggets, I find them gross! I wonder if the same can be said about those chicken fries from BK..those I find tasty.

Emily...way to go on that 1.6!!! I swear that is our number this week because I've seen so many of us lose that much! I'm gonna have to figure out how many! You are doing so great with c25k! Such an inspiration to me!

Diva...thanks for checkin out my video blog! They are actually kinda fun! I'm gonna do another after I reach the halfway point in this program. You should totally try and find a way to try it. I would never have believed that I could do it but I can...and I know you can too!

Counting.... great to see your sunshine on the board!!

Rennie..you are so right! This is NOT about going without. There is no reason someone cant allow themselves a double bacon cheeseburger once in awhile, just not the staple of our diets! You give such great incite, thanks so much for that!

Cathy...dont ya just hate computers sometimes LOL! Ask Danielle how much she hates computers! LOL! I hope this week slows down a little more for you!

Okay off to plug the numbers!! "see" you in the morning!!!

Thanks for the well wishes, guys...I am still sick, and it's looking like I may have to suck it up and see a doc. I hate doing that, but I am tired of not being able to do anything.
No loss this week, which was expected. This week should hopefully be better, once I am able to exercise. *crosses fingers*

Gotta get to feeling better first Cassie! Which I hope is soon! Get in there and see the doc!

Okay so I counted and we had 6 people lose 1.6 this week, just thought it was funny how so many of us hit that number. We have 19 people who have used 1 freebie and 7 people who will be out if they dont weigh in next week.

Okay off to bed!!

Happy Monday everyone (well Yues on East coast). I had an awful eating weekend and the scale is teasing me between 199 and 200. Big surprise when I eat like an idiot. I did however get on my treadmill on Sunday and knock out 2 miles so I didn't feel guilty for taking the entire weekend off. I cannot wait until my hubby is home again so I can still go the the gym on weekends. I always work so much harder there than at home.

Today I walked a half mile, then did my hour with the personal trainer. It was circuit day - my least favorite. I managed my way through the hour and then one of the ladies who trains with me says "Ok Cat now we're going to run a mile". Well, I didn't want to look too stupid, so I agreed. She's training to re-enter the Army so you can guess she's in better shape than me. We pushed each other and we finished our mile in 9:10, a personal best for me. I haven't ever gone faster than 11 minutes haha. Something about running on a track and not a treadmill and having someone to talk to made it so easy. We weren't even that tired. It was an awesome feeling. Now I just have to convince her to run 3 miles with me (well keep adding on mileage until we get there).

I ate alright today. I freaked out at dinner, took off with the kids in tow, and passed every fast food restaurant imaginable and settled for Quizno's. I got a salad and splurged on a Coke which I think was the main reason for the freakout. I need caffeine! Tomorrow I am going to try having a cup of tea in the afternoon and see if that settles me. I get all crazy when I am craving something. Luckily I was able to talk myself into a somewhat healthy choice.

Well, I am off to bed early tonight. Not much to do, and I am going to take a book to bed instead of drooling in front of the tv until it's midnight. I need more sleep, and reading knocks me out pretty fast! Hope everyone is doing well, and I just got caught up and no time for personals but you guys are doing great and I am so proud to be on the Red Team!
