Good Sunday morning! Boy did I sleep in today! LOL! I think these blustery days just make me want to stay in bed! Too bad there is so much to be done. Took my girls to the Griz game yesterday and it was COLD!! Had a great time even if we did slaughter them. (I say that because its just fun to have a closer game) My poor kiddos absolutely froze in the rain and snow! I was naughty last night and had chinese food! I've gotten myself out of that championship mode. Have a hard time staying motivated on a day to day basis. I'm still in it for the long haul but its easier for me to say..oh this one day wont hurt, whereas back when this challenge first started I said...NO WAY..not even one day! Anyway...back at it today and I think planning out menus will help!

Kelli...great to see you posting! I hope it happens more often!! Excellent job on that 2 lbs!! You are just kicking some butt arent you?! Keep it up!

Leeda...dont even get me started on the dog poo! LOL! ugh, that is still a struggle around here. I hope you got your flat fixed and are able to get some more running in! That 5K is almost here!!

Veronica...another one we havent seen in forever!! And here to post a loss!! Excellent job lady!! I hope work goes well for you this week! Keep on kicking butt!!

likenoother....EXCELLENT job on that menu my friend! Wow, I'm really impressed at how well balanced you are. Thats a sure sign of success!

Okay so here is my menu for the day...keep in mind it is football day! Also, keep in mind I'm on LC!

breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs, 2 sausage links, coffee
snack - mini pizza
lunch - hot chicken w/ cucumber slices
snack - bonbel cheese
dinner - chicken salad on romaine
snack - if necessary huckleberries w/ cream

Have a wonderful day everyone!! I'm off to study tax!

~melissa

Shay 10-21-2007 12:58 PM

Thanks Melissa. I hope by doing it this way it will be a lifestyle change and not a diet. Now I have to go study myself. I will be on and off through out the day. I can't study straight through. I need to take breaks here and there.

LeedaRenee 10-21-2007 02:25 PM

Shay, thanks for the link to the light cooking, I have been more adventurous in the kitchen lately, so I may give it a go. It would be nice to have lasagna that we could all eat without guilt :)

Melissa, very good menu for a football day! And what in the world is a huckleberry?

Veronica, grats on the 1lb loss!

Still the same weight today, I usually post my weigh by Sun night, but I think I will see what the scale says in the morning. I am going running (without baby!) and see what kind of time I make. Baby and I may be going to a get together afterwards. I hope everyone has a happy sunday!

LeedaRenee 10-21-2007 02:47 PM

Forgot to post my menu:

B: bran flakes, 2 percent milk, 1/2 banana
S: a few pecans
L: penne w/ tomatoe and veggies sauce
S: popcorn
D: ? (maybe ONE hamburger, going to a grill out later)

Hun.e.B 10-21-2007 03:39 PM

Shay...I need study breaks too! I go into overload otherwise! So here I am taking a break lol!

Leeda...OMG huckleberries! They are heaven on earth! Its somewhat like a blueberry only tarter. I dont like blueberries but I love Huckleberries. They are absolutely heaven! And expensive! I get 5 lb bag of them for $40 at the farmers market. You can go up into the woods and pick them yourself but I'm too afraid of the bears who also love them. Plus they are really hard to find. what I do is freeze them then when I put a little splenda on them and pour on some cream the cream freezes so its a nice cool treat. Enjoy your run!

Okay girls...Dont forget to post those weights by tomorrow night! I'm waiting to do mine too!

~melissa

mariposita 10-21-2007 08:29 PM

Hello ladies!

Well, after a week of unexpected hassles--mainly that one of the trees in the front yard split during a wind/rainstorm, bringing down a power line, so we had to call PG&E and have them come out and help deal with the mess. I'm just so glad it did not come down on the roof! I'm still waiting for hubby and son to take down the rest of the tree, which should happen either on Monday or Thursday if Mr. Procrastinator gets his rear in gear. Then the power supply on one of the computers went out, so we were all down to sharing our older computer, which means everyone was trying to get their turns in. But we just got it back, so that's great! I also got some extra work this week, so was away from home more, but the money is great--yeah, it went to fix the computer! :dizzy:

I am so far behind reading here, but I see that people are posting losses for the week already! :carrot: Keep going everyone! I am maintaining this week, but I'll take -- eating and exercise was uneven for me this last week, and my daughter's birthday was yesterday and I had 2 big pieces of cake. No ice cream, I just chose what I really wanted. Today I recommitted to tracking on Fitday, which I haven't been doing. It really made me stop and think about whether I wanted to run and enter things in!

LeedaRenee 10-21-2007 09:03 PM

I had a good run. I did 2.3 miles in 31 minutes ( I stopped to tie my shoe too), so I figure it will take me around 40 minutes to do my 5k this Saturday. My best friend is running with me, she is about the same level I am, so we are going to depend on each other to make it lol. Felt so good to run without the stroller. I didn't do too badly at the cookout. 1/2 of a hamburger, a little potato salad (and mmmm a tiny brownie!)

Diva 10-21-2007 09:03 PM

Don't know if I've lost anything or not, I'll weigh tomorrow, but the past few days have sucked. First the back thing, then we all got some stomach thing and my man and kid are both down with a cold and sniffles. I have been sick to my stomach most of the day today and now so is the man. I have no idea how we all got sick, but o'well. Top that off, the man, hmmm, how do I put this nicely?...He goofed up with the money situataion and now we will struggle the rest of this month. I have taken CONTROL over the situation! grrrrrrr I think he is testing me or something, but I feel like a time bomb tick tick ticking away...He's gonna keep on and , well, you all know I am sure. LOL! We are ALL woman here. ;)

Anywho, today's menu:

1 cup 2% Milk & Special-K (Fruit & Yogurt)
Chicken Sandwich
5 bites of Spaghetti Then I decided to be sick again....
1 cup 2% Milk and Rice krispey's.

dream710 10-21-2007 09:46 PM

Hey ladies, it looks like everyone is doing good. Its been kind of a lazy weekend. I've been extra tired and chose to sleep over exercise:rollpin: I did make myself get up early to get in a pilates workout today, and boy my muscles are stiff. I can't believe that just after a week of slacking on the pilates that my body would lose so much flexibility. Eating has been poor, I've been eating out of boredom and stress.:rollpin: I've also been slacking on tracking my calories this week, not to mention not posting much. I'm thinking I need a swift kick in the hiney:kickbutt: I'm sure one of you girls would gladly help me out with that. Tomorrow starts a new day. I'm gonna forget about last week and focus on the week ahead of me.

Bridgette.

dream710 10-22-2007 06:24 AM

Just a quick post before my date with Gilad. I was hoping to maintain this week, but was very surprised to see a 2 lb loss. Everyone have a great day.

Shay 10-22-2007 06:40 AM

Congrats on the weight loss Dream. I lost 3 lbs this week so I am very happy about that. Especially with having the conference and the pizza on Saturday. This week I have to eat at another coference Friday-Sunday. I have to look at the schedule and see what meals they are providing. I already planned for them by assigning points. Here is my menu for today:

BF--cinnamon raisin bagel, yogurt, coffee with sf flavored creamer
S--sf jello pudding
L--HC Cafe Steamer meal and sweet peas
S--granola bar
S--sf jello
D--spaghetti and sweet corn

WW--28 pts

Idealmuse 10-22-2007 06:53 AM

Only 1lb this week for me, which annoys me because it's been 2 the last few days, but I might be retaining water already. Sigh.

Sugar-N-Spice 10-22-2007 08:35 AM

Hi guys! Remember me? lol Sorry its been so long since my last post, work is really REALLY kicking my a$$! I wish it was in the literal sense cause at least that way I would be losing something instead of maintaining!!! I am struggling with finding my footing and being gone the entire morning away from home. I am eating low carb so preperation is the name of the game all the way, however, when I get home from work in the afternoon its kids kids kids galore and by the time it comes around for me to get stuff done I should be, I am exhausted! So, needless to say, I have been winging it the last week or 2 and not doing a very good job. I have been doing more of a low cal typa thing and I HATE it (no offense girls :D) so really gotta dig down deep and suck it up and get my big fat butt off the couch even when I feel like I'm dying and JUST DO IT!

Been a rough one, I fell at work the other day and hurt my legs badly. I have brusing on both fronts of my legs that looks like someone has beaten me. Needless to say working out has been outta the question but am eager to get back to it just as soon as I can walk without hobbling! LOL

Anywho, hate to be short, but I got about 5 min. before I gotta dash out the door for work. WTG to all our losers this week, you all continue to inspire me with all you have going on and still manage to lose weight too! GREAT JOB!

LeedaRenee 10-22-2007 08:38 AM

muse, one pound is better than nothing! and it's progress, congrats!

Shay, congrats on the 3 lbs!!

No loss for me, so I've decided to decrease my calories a bit. I use the daily plate and had my activity on "moderately active". I moved it up from "lightly active" a few weeks ago, and I think that is the problem. No run today, just a little yoga and maybe some DDR. I'll post my menu later.

Mercee 10-22-2007 09:33 AM

Hi all!!

I am posting a mauintain this week. This is fine with me. Congrats to all the losers!!! I hope everyone has a great day.!! I will post my menu later.

Hun.e.B 10-22-2007 09:54 AM

Only have a few minutes before i gotta get the kiddos to school so I'll be back after that to do personals but had to post my weight. The chinese food finally caught up with me from Saturday and I was up today...but we all know thats not a true gain so i'm going to stick with my Friday weigh in. Not sure why I feel the need to play that little scale game with myself! I weigh on friday..post on friday! And then stay off the damn scale for the rest of the week! *thats me lecturing myself LOL* Okay so only down a .5 lb this week. Enough messing around! BBIAB!!

Hun.e.B 10-22-2007 12:59 PM

Okay...got all my PTA stuff done for the moment, I see I didnt miss anything around here.

Mercee...great attitude about maintaining! Thats a winning attitude! Our bodies do need time to catch up from time to time! Great Job!! And I would just like to tell you that I really appreciate you taking the time to check in with your team! Thank you!

Leeda...have you ever seen where people do kind of like a roller coaster with their calories to kick things up again..like go a little higher one day then lower the next? I've heard its really successful, keeps that ol body guessing! I would also like to thank you for the time you take to support your team. I know it can be hard to fit a couple extra minutes in the day so thank you so much for showing amazing support!! It is very much appreciated by me!

Danielle....I hope your legs are feeling better!! I still cant believe that you fell! Hopefully you'll "fall" (lol) into that groove and can check in more often. Darn kids anyway...always taking up time! LOL!! I'm glad you got a minute to check in and let everyone know you were still kicking!!

Muse
...no such thing as ONLY 1 lb!! 1 LB is fantastic!! You are doing GREAT!! This week just means your body is playing a little catchup! Thank you so much for all your support! I know things are busy with you getting ready for your shows and you still take a minute or 2 to check in!! I appreciate the support you show your team tremendously!! Thank you!!

Shay...you are amazing!!! 3 lbs!!! WOOOHOO!! Pizza's got nothing on you girl!! Look at all your success! I'm so very impressed and inspired by you! Menu looks GREAT again! And you also, I cant thank you enough for all you have done for your team to keep us supported and motivated! I really means alot to me that you are so active and involved! Thank you so much!!

Bridgette
...2 lbs!!!! Yay!! That is excellent news! And here you thought you needed a kick in the rear! LOL...well I'll do that anyway if you still want it LOL!! Great job! Thank you so much for checking in with your team!! I appreciate your time!

Diva
...how ya feelin? Ugh...being sick is not what ya need now! I hope you are feeling better!! Thank you so much for all your support! I cant tell you how much I appreciate what you do for the team, even when the numbers dont count you still take the time to offer your support!

Ann...another maintainer this week!! thats okay! It still means progress!! Keep up the great work and stay out of that darn cake! LOL!! Accountability will keep you strong! Way to go this week!

Alrighty then! I suppose that means I need to start studying for my exam tomorrow. Boohiss! LOL! Oh need to post my menu too dont I:

Breakfast - sausage and coffee
snack - cucumber slices
Lunch - mini pizza
snack - bonbel cheese
dinner - chicken and yellow peppers
snack - diet soda

Man that just makes me realize how much I need to go grocery shopping! Have a wonderful day ladies!!

Shay 10-22-2007 01:27 PM

Melissa--I think what helps me check in is the fact that this website is my support group. I need to check in. It might also help that I am a night owl, have a very flexible schedule, and I make myself do a dedicated lunch at work. I also don't have kids.

Leeda--I think we are the same with running. Back when I ran before I averaged 11-12 minute miles. I am bigger now so we will see how it looks now.

I am really excited about the 3lbs because I thought my body was wanting to plateau. We'll see what the next week brings. I will begin the C25K in two weeks. I'm excited about going to get fitted for running shoes. Not excited about spending the money but that it signifies that I can get started on this next goal. The running should make a huge difference in my weight loss. Any exercise generally does for me. What happens too is I get really hungry so I will keep that in mind when planning my menus. I may have to make my running days higher point days.

Hun.e.B 10-22-2007 01:35 PM

Shay I'm with you on the support group. Thats how I think of this challenge and also why I get so frustrated. I know from experience what a strong support group can do for me. I would have never lost 75 lbs before had I not had been a member of the group I was. Unfortunetly that group is gone. I think too many people underestimate the huge role that support plays in weightloss. But you can tell the ones that arent active with the group from their numbers. Its very interesting from a social psych viewpoint. Anyway...C25K!! I wish I could do that program it looks like alot of fun but i cant run! You are going to do GREAT with it!!

~melissa

Mercee 10-22-2007 03:44 PM

L- turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread
S- almonds
D- chicken and a salad
S - 94% fat-free microwave popcorn

Hun.e.B 10-22-2007 04:20 PM

Mercee...it happens when we are running late! Slimfast is excellent for days like that! Dont stress it, everything else looks great for today! Great job!

~melissa

LeedaRenee 10-22-2007 04:39 PM

Ok here goes. I've felt so hungry today, I dont know why. I am still nursing, so I try to factor that in if I'm really and truly hungry, but I'm not usually this hungry.

1/2 serving shredded wheat, 2 percent milk
penne w/ tomatoe and veggie sauce
1 cup of grapes
another bowl of shredded wheat, 1 serving, 2 percent milk
Chicken salad (romaine lettuce, grilled chicken. tomatoes, sunflower seeds, 1 tbsp dressing and vinegar)
1 big ear of corn on the cob (no salt, no butter)
1 apple
1 slice of wheat bread w/ 1 tsp of peanut butter

Bleh, I have one hundred and fifty calories left.

LawMomVeronica 10-22-2007 10:54 PM

Duh, I weighed in and forgot to post it!

Had a bad week with the candy. I get sooo out of control with it and every time I think I can keep it under control and every time I can't! Trying to get back to healthy eating this week. I pulled out my WW cookbook and I think I'm going to aim for trying one new recipe each week. If I don't cook, I just end up overeating on crackers and cheese, which has been happening far too often lately!

Shay 10-23-2007 07:36 AM

LawMomVeronica--It happens to us all at some point. It seems you are ready to move on.

Here is my menu for today:
BF--Banana bread oatmeal with IC Believe Its NB, yogurt, coffee with sf flavored creamer
S--grapes
L--HC Cafe Steamer meal with sweet corn
S--rice krispie treat
S--granola bar
D--veg barley soup with turkey sausage and steam veggies added

WW--28+1 flex point= 29 pts

LeedaRenee 10-23-2007 07:58 AM

Hi ladies,

Melissa, thank you for your encouraging words! I've noticed from the start that you were the glue that held this team together. I think I've finally started really getting into the spirit of things here...better late than never, right?

I have a job interview this morning. I am (or was before I had my baby) an NICU nurse. I would love to go back too where I used to work, because it's so critical and I see situations and conditions there I would never seen anywhere else, but they don't offer a good schedule for my life right now. So I'm look at a prn (about once a week) position elsewhere. The babies aren't as critical, but it will help me keep my skill up. I can't believe I've been at home for almost a year! If I get this job, I will be able to still pretty much be at home with my son, but help out financially.

I am going running sometime after the interview. Sometimes I just really wish the 5k would get here and sometimes I just get really scared lol.

Have a great day ladies!

Hun.e.B 10-23-2007 09:28 AM

Good morning Red team!! Not a great week for us in the weigh in but I think that is in direct proportion to the amount of participation around here. I know I know I'm harping on that again but I cannot tell you how much more successful you are going to be when you have a team of losers behind you! I know you cant force someone to be active but its not fair to those who are. This week is going to be our week though right! We can do this!! I'm ready to win my battle with the lbs!

Veronica...I had a feeling you just forgot to slip over there to post because I know you checked in here with it! LOL! No more candy! I swear that sugar just keeps you wanting more and more...evil stuff!! I love your idea of trying something new every week!!

Shay...excellent job this week! Our biggest loser!!! Congrats on that title lady, think anyone can take it away from you? LOL!!

Leeda....oh what an admirable profession! I couldnt do it! I'm a big baby and cry at just about anything so to be around sick babies I dont think I'd do well. I'm glad they have people like you though, I bet those parents are thankful for you too! Good luck with that run!! That 5K will be here before you know it!

My menu for today (still havent gone grocery shopping):
breakfast - scrambled eggs, coffee
snack - square of dark chocolate
lunch - greek salad
snack - bon bel cheese
dinner - cheeseburger no bun YUM!
snack - diet soda

Almost have that darn chinese food worked off! 1 step forward 2 steps back is NOT the way to lose weight darn it! LOL! At least its going away. I really really want to be down over 25 lbs by thanksgiving so I need to pick it up here!!

OH! forgot to wake up the kids..gotta run!! Have a great day!!

Thank you very much mel. That means a lot to me and I hope if we do this again that I can be on the team again with you! I read someplace that Chell doesn't want to do this agai,n so I am hoping someone steps up. I'd do it with help and if someone showed me how ya get the %'s and stuff. :D I am hoping she changes her mind though....

Mercee 10-23-2007 10:02 AM

Morning all!!!

Here's my menu for today:
B- 1 can slimfast and 1 apple
L- salad (Lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalepenos and imitation crabmeat)
S- 1 banana
D- turkey meatloaf and green beans
S- 1 cup of grapes

I hope everyone has a great day and don' forget to watch The Biggest Loser!!

Shay 10-23-2007 01:47 PM

What a nice surprise (sp?) to get on here and find out I am the biggest loser! YEAH! I really have a lot going on so it really makes my day. Of course without my team (Go RED!) I'd be in trouble so thanks everyone. That's too bad Chellez may not want to do this again. It is a lot of work for her and Melissa, but I've really enjoyed it.

LeedaRenee 10-23-2007 01:50 PM

Yay Shay, congrats!!

dream710 10-23-2007 10:51 PM

WAY TO GO SHAY! I just checked the results and was shocked at how we were crushed by the blue team. Lets all try hard to have a better week this week. So far so good for me, I've exercised both Monday and Tuesday, even though I was very sore today. Eating has been less desirable, I too need to go to the grocery store, not to mention to take the time to plan my meals.

Goals for this week:
less pop, more water
less processed foods
and grocery shopping

Menu for today:
Breakfast: 1/2 cup brad buds with 1/2 cup 1 % milk
snack: 1 small bag cheezits with dr pepper
lunch: smart pop single serving bag popcorn
snack: 3 pcs of licorice
supper: 2 veggie dogs
snack: 1 small bag gardettos

I'm hoping by posting my menu it will hold me more accountable.

Shay 10-24-2007 08:02 AM

I'm moving really slow this morning. I should be at work already. Well because I make my own schedule lets say I planned to be there already. Oh well maybe I can aim for 8:30 today. I always eat breakfast at work and I'm in the process of making it right now. I should have made it last night. Anyways here is my menu for today:

BF--eggs, veggie sausage, coffee with sf flavored creamer
S--100 calorie pack
L--veggie burger with cheese on ww bun, grapes, sf pudding
S--yogurt
S--biscotti
D--baked chicken with steamed veggies

WW--28+ 3 flex points=31 pts

LeedaRenee 10-24-2007 08:43 AM

Morning, all. I got the job! I'll start monday after next with hospital orientation and then I'll begin working with my little ones :D In between then and now I have to renew several certifications that I let slip while I was off work, sigh...

Also good news: I'm down to 196.0! One more pound and I will be down 30 pounds total. Two more pounds and I will no longer be obese!

Baby and I went running yesterday. The weather here is pretty dreary and cold (low 50s). I had the ugliest red hat, it's one I made a few years ago. It's huge and doesn't fit my head at all, but it was warm. I got a few looks on the track though. Anyway, it was very windy and very hilly and I did almost 2 miles. Those hills get me everytime!

I will post my menu later.

Dream, yes we were crushed, but I think this week will be better! Sounds like you're donig great!

Shay, that is so nice you make your own hours. Your menu looks yummy and nutrtional today!

Diva 10-24-2007 08:54 AM

Lets just say I am ashamed of my menu yesterday, but to put a positive spin on it, if I stay low on the calorie side today, I can always say I am doing the Wendie Plan! LOL! High one day, low the next and so on... yeah, that's it. ;)

Robot 10-24-2007 09:52 AM

Morning ladies! I hope all is well. I think we all need to kick it double time this week and get a win for the team. I'm stuck at a plateau, so I'm definitely going to up my workout this week.

Hun.e.B 10-24-2007 10:45 AM

Good Morning all! Well its one of those mornings for me! Waiting for my turn for the shower so I can head over to the school to finish up fundraiser stuff. Then its study study for a big exam i have tomorrow. Today is my 15 year wedding anniversary too. Not sure if we are gonna do anything because I'm pretty sure someone forgot.

I strayed from plan yesterday. I think I'm bored to death with my eating plan. I eat the same stuff all the time. I've been craving an apple lately big time which is not low carb so I'm wondering if I need to take a little break from that strict low carb. the thing with low carb is I like how I'm never hungry but if you mess up just one little bit it throws you off for the next 3-4 days (me anyway) whereas with lowcal/lowfat you can mess up a meal and its not a huge deal. But I'm hungrier and I get more cravings. Such a dilemma! So since I know that today isnt going to go low carb and neither is tomorrow here is what I plan to eat today:

breakfast: weight smart apples & Cinn. oatmeal, coffee
snack: apple
lunch: chicken bake
snack: yogurt w/ granola
dinner: going out but not sure where

Okay I gotta run! Leeda congrats on that job!! Have a wonderful day ladies!

~melssa

Diva 10-24-2007 01:18 PM

I seem to be having some internet issues today, so I better post this while I still can:

1 cup 2% Milk
Special K (fruit & Yogurt)
Banana
chicken Noodle soup (Homemade)
100 calorie pack- choc chip thins (yum)
Tuna sandwich on wheat w/lettus
a few chips.
Lots of water.
1252 Calories

I stopped the WW Points thing because I could never get the calories and points to match. I was either on points but not calories or on calories but not points so screw it! I am ALL about counting the calories babeeee!

Shay 10-24-2007 01:26 PM

Everyone's menus look great today. I wonder if we should continue with them until the end of the contest instead of just this week?

Leeda--Congrats on the wt loss and getting the job!

I found out that Friday at the conference for lunch we may be pretty much on our own. That helps me so I can pre-plan. I've narrowed it down to Panera, Cosi, and Uno's. I will get on Dottie's website and get to planning.
