Menu was good yesterday:
In no particular order:

Raisin Bran w/ 2 percent milk
Lean Cuisine Beef Burgundy
Turkey sandwhich w/cheese, tomatoe
Lean Cuisine Rosemary Chicken
Turkey sandwhich
Banana
Jello ff pudding
2 pickles

I work my first real days of work tomorrow and sunday, so I need to prepare some meals and snacks for then. That will be the real test :)

mariposita 11-16-2007 08:42 AM

Well ladies, I am out of the challenge, but I will still try to post my menus. I still can't believe it, but on Wed. night I was walking to my car to go to class, tripped, twisted my foot over at the ankle, heard the most gruesome snapping noise, and broke my foot (fifth metatarsal, thank goodness it's on my left foot). I managed to limp back to my car and drove home and had hubby take me to the hospital. I was afraid if I drove myself I wouldn't be able to get from the car to ER! I can't believe how fast my foot swelled up. My first broken bone and my first experience on crutches. It is not pretty. And I am so very thankful for Vicodin right now.

No exercise for me, which makes me nervous. Of course, I don't have much appetite right now either. Yet.

I will try to read and check in later. Have a good day today, everyone!

LeedaRenee 11-16-2007 09:41 AM

Ann, big ouch!! I know my foot really swelled when I sprained it a few months ago, I can't imagine how much that would be magnified if it had been broken. Maybe you could still do some upper body exercises (when the injury is less fresh of course). I hope you feel better soon!

Hun.e.B 11-16-2007 11:30 AM

Good Morning girls! Getting here late this morning. So much drama surrounding me..hate that! I've been battling with my older daughters school's parent council I have nearly demanded that they become more organized so I got named Secretary. Well I emailed out the minutes of the last meeting and OMG! I'm swamped with emails about it because someone said something so it was put in the minutes...well thats not what they meant, or they dont like me using the word concensus. Rediculous! So I've been dealing with that all morning! If anyone knows anything about non profit organizations and the laws..like is a budget mandatory or are board members required. . Please PM me! Okay sorry to go off on a tangent just needed to get that out there.

Another onplan day for me! Here's what I ate:

breakfast: scrambled eggs w/ sausage, coffee
no snack
lunch: all beef hotdog w/ mustard (nobun), romaine salad
snack: cucumber and cheese
dinner: chicken w/ yellow peppers
snack: diet orange soda

I made pumpkin bread for one of my classes and didnt have a single taste..love that stuff!!

I watched Emeril last night and he made a carmalized pear gingerbread cake and OMG! I'm making it next week, but I'm sure I'll end up having to throw most of it away because of my picky family. Just a taste is all I want though.

I know the holiday is approaching but dont forget that weigh ins are still due on Monday. Also, for those of you who have been doing the Turkey day challenge with me, I need you to PM me how many days you stayed on plan by next friday. Dont post them here...PM them to me!

Okay off to make some breakfast! I hope all is well with everyone!! Ann I'm so sorry to hear that you broke your foot!! My goodness that was some fall! I hope you are feeling better very soon!

~melissa

Diva 11-16-2007 01:18 PM

Ann, OMG! I am so sorry that you broke your foot, that totally sucks. i hope you heal fast and get to feeling better soon. I never had to use crutches but I imagine they mucst hurt or maybe even bruise your underarms? I dunno..I'm just very sorry. :(

Mel, I hate that peeps are working your nerves there. This is why I try my very best not to deal with people much! LOL! it takes a special person to do what you do because I have NO patience. I think I am turning into Weezer from Steel Magnolias, the older I get, the grumpier I get, hehe!;)

Staying on plan today. I've been staying oin it most days, just gave into a couple of cookies yesterday. :dizzy:

I reckon I got some exercise in, I dl'ed The Prince "Purple Rain" record and that got up and excited and then from there for about an hour or so i danced my butt off in the livingroom to all my old 80's & 90's dance music, lol! it was fun and I worked up a sweat. :D

Diva 11-16-2007 08:24 PM

Where is everyone? It has just occured to me that I am almost back to the weight I was when we started this dagum challenge! Thank Gawd!!! Wonder how much I can lose by the end?

Well, we are out of food and stuff so I had to make due until I can get to the store tomorrow. Dude brings home pizza for dinner grrrrr..At least it was thin crust.

So here's what I had.

B- Milk, cow's, fluid, 2%
Egg omelet or scrambled egg-3 large
LandOLakes Cheese 1 serving.
Tomatoes, raw 1/4 cup
Deli Meat-Walmart 1/2 serving

L- Pork roast, shoulder, cooked, lean only eaten 1 oz
S South Beach cereal bars 2
Peanut butter 2 TBSP.

D-Pizza with pepperoni 3 Slices

Totals 1596 -calories 116- carbs 102- protein

Not too bad, i actually managed to stay within my numbers. :)

dream710 11-16-2007 11:23 PM

Good evening ladies,

Here's the menu for today:

Breakfast: Fruit Bar
Snack: Yogurt
Lunch: Lettuce salad with 1/4 c walnuts, 1/4 c cheese and rasberry vinegarette (sp)
Snack: 1 snack bag of gardettos
Supper: 1 8" pizza

Calories: 1307
Fat: 66 47%
carbs: 132 38%
protein 47 15%
fiber: 10
Exercise: 30 minutes with Gilad, and 20 minutes pilates

Ouch on the Fat, but still on plan for the calories. Tomorrow might be a different story, we are going out with some people from work to see Rodney Carrington, so there will be drinking and of course going out to supper, so I'll definitely have to eat light during the day.

Ann- sorry to hear you broke your foot! I've never broke any bones (knock on wood) only had to deal with fractures. As far as the crutches go their a pain in the hiney. I assume your in a cast, how long do you have to be in it?

Mel-I love Emeril. I used to watch him all the time. I haven't watched in a while, but then I usually go in spurts and spells when it comes to watching my tv shows.

Diva-PRINCE- HE'S AWESOME. I've been a fan since I can remember. My mom is a huge fan, so of course I grew up listening to him, we'd crank up his music and just sing our hearts out.

Shay 11-17-2007 07:07 AM

Diva & Dream-- I love Prince too. That's funny my mom is a huge fan too.

Ann--Just like Leeda I sprained my ankle a few weeks back and that was painful enough. Take care of yourself.

Stayed on plan yesterday. The only change was I didn't eat one of my afternoon snacks, the banana. The sanwich at lunch was huge and I was still full so I ate only one afternoon snack as opposed to two. Well I officially weigh in on Monday but right now the scale hasn't moved. We'll see what Monday brings.

Today's Menu
BF--cereal, soymilk, banana, coffee with sf flavored creamer
S--blackberries
L--southbeach wrap and yogurt
S--100 calorie pack
S--cottage cheese double
D--soup with ww english muffin

WW--26 pts

My neck and back feels a little stiff. I don't know what that's about. We'll see how that goes with running today.

Robot 11-17-2007 09:09 AM

Hello. Sorry I haven't been posting my menu. I've been eating terrible foods. I'm embarrassed to post it. I'm pretty sure mozzarella sticks are not considered a healthy breakfast. I will do better today! Even though I'm probably out of the challenge, I'll still post my menus.

Hun.e.B 11-17-2007 10:08 AM

Tera....dont be embarrassed, this isnt here to judge anyone. We ALL make choices that arent the best from time to time. Heck I get in these ruts and can do it for weeks at a time...happened just a few weeks ago. The point is not to shame you but to hopfully make you think about your choices knowing you've got to hold yourself accountable...thats all. No food police thats for sure! Truth be known, mozz sticks actually do fit into my plan LOL! I just have to "bread" them with parm cheese instead of the typical breading. I hope you do better today...for YOU!

Shay....you rock!! I'm so impressed with you embrassing the C25K! My dd wants to do it with me, I just dont know where we can!

Diva....as I was reading through your menu I thought...she sure isnt eating much but then I see you were subconsciously geering up for pizza LOL! You did great!! Stayed right within your numbers! Excellent job! I almost ordered the girls pizza last night...that may have been bad.

~melissa

Hun.e.B 11-17-2007 10:14 AM

Well another on plan day for me yesterday although i didnt eat alot. Was just alot busier than I thought I was going to be. Helped out over at the older dd's school for almost 3 hours. Came home and started doing more organizing and cleaning. I dunno what the deal is but I've suddenly got energy. For the past few months if I watch anything on tv its while I have my nose in homework or some other project. Last night I tried to sit and watch a movie and it felt so weird! I couldnt do it, had to get up and clean out the fridge then I went and did my Turkey day shopping.

Today I plan on getting my house all clean! I'm actually excited I havent had a clean house since summer. I think that show on Oprah about hording has really inspired me to just throw this crap out! I keep stuff thinking I'm gonna use it one day but then forget I have it. Time to go!

So here is my menu:

Breakfast: sausage and coffee
no snack
lunch (late) bunless burger with cheese, lettuce, pickles and tomato
snack: beef stick slices, cucumbers w/ ranch, pepperonis
dinner: chicken salad, lettuce, cheese, tomato
snack: chicharones and a diet rite

Didnt drink nearly enough water either.

Have a wonderful day ladies!

You're exactly right, I didn't even know I was gearing up for Pizza either! I just had NO clue as to what we were having so I was trying to be careful...It's a good thing too. 20 carbs per slice! YIKES!:dizzy:

Shay 11-17-2007 12:17 PM

Wk 2, Day 3 of the C25K was my roughest so far. Not because it was difficult just that as soon as I got on the treadmill my head started hurting. A few minutes in my right foot started hurting from my previous injury. Then, yes there's more, my left knee started hurting. I was like WTF??? But I was also like whatever. I am not getting off this treadmill. This is the end of Wk 2 and I am completing it today. I started counting down the running intervals, 1 down 5 more to go, 2 down, half way there, only 2 to go....last one. During the last one I felt better. Off to Week 3 on Tuesday. Oh yeah I forgot that I said I was feeling stiff earlier today. What a mess. I feel good now. Who knows what that was all about.

Melissa--I am really enjoying the program and thank goodness I did buy myself this treadmill a few years back. But I have other options too. I'm a member of Bally's. There is also the local community center that has an indoor track. I'm guessing you don't have either of those options? How about a local park, is it too cold there? Your neighborhood? School track? Your school or the kids school? Buying a used treadmill from e-bay? I'm sorry I plan programs for a living so a huge part of that is problem solving and sometimes I go right into that mode even if no one asks me.

Hun.e.B 11-17-2007 06:07 PM

I do actually belong to a state of the art facility at the university that has an indoor track. its all paid for in my tuition but do you think I use it? NOPE! So I could go, but it'd cost me $2 a day for dd to do it with me. Its getting too cold to do it outside although if it would stop raining we could certainly try.

Okay gotta play mom taxi and run dd to a sleepover! My house is so clean!!!!! When was the last time you pulled out your washer and dryer and fridge and cleaned underneath them? talk about a workout!!

~melissa

LeedaRenee 11-17-2007 08:55 PM

yesterday:
Apple pancake
banana
lean cuisine meal, strawberries, ff jello pudding
cashews, 1 piece of dark chocolate
santa fe rice and beans (homemaede), glass of grape juice, apple

My first real day of work today in the unit. Very boring. Not at all what i'm used to, but I guess I can handle it if it pays and lets me work with babies. It was so good to hold a preemie again, they make the sweetest grunting sounds (good grunting, not bad). No run today, but will tomorrow...it will be my long run...3 miles..hopefully DH will watch the baby after I get off work so I can roll without the stroller.

Melissa, you should so start the program. Make use of that indoor track ( I am so jealous!!) You will not regret it .

Shay, sounds like you had a visit from the "Running Devil" My best friend coined this phrase to describe when a bunch of things seem to get in the way of a run. Good for you for toughing it out, but make sure your old injury isn't trying to crop up again! Week three here you come!

LeedaRenee 11-17-2007 09:39 PM

Tara, don't be embarrassed!! I have been there! I think we all have!

Diva, congrats on being back to your starting weight. I know you can put a big dent in it by the end of the challenge! :carrot:

Hun.e.B 11-17-2007 10:23 PM

Leeda....my thing with running now is my weight. First off I get shin splints so bad that I have little knobs on my shins now from the scar tissue when I tried to run before. Secondly because of my csection I've got the "apron" how do I say this nicely...it flaps when I run! LOL! Oye! I think once I get a little smaller maybe I can, I want to try but I dunno. I need a girdle first LOL!

~melissa

LeedaRenee 11-17-2007 10:29 PM

Oh the lasting memories of childbirth!! Stretchmarks, and aprons! I can relate. Bleck that really sucks about the shin splints. I guess you are smart to wait it out. I will be so happy when you do do it though. And I know it will be in the near future because you are doing so well!

I get so excited when I hear about another person starting to run. I know people look at me sometimes and raise a skeptical eyebrow when I say that I run, but hey, I want them know you don't have to be a size 6 to be active. Ok, that's enough of my jabbering....time for bed :D Have a great sunday everyone!

Diva 11-17-2007 10:56 PM

Mel, I have the same thing, The shin splints, heck I get them from walking on hilly surfaces and whatnot and the apron. I hate it but i think even when I am thinner, I'll still have "the apron" or at least lose skin there, YUCK! O'well...scars of motherhood. I want to run too and I was gonna start in Oct but that's when that butthead almost ran me over and I skinned up my leg. I think I've only walked outside since that one time. Which sucks because I do love the fall, but I get this social anxiety thing and he just totally did me in with exercising out doors for right now. Maybe this Spring when I am thinner. :dizzy:
Anyway, it was a weird food day. First of all i totally forgot to eat lunch and then dinner just sucked. I ttoally didn't like it at all so I barley ate anything, so I compesated with peanut butter and Rosttbeef deli meat. I think I am getting really picky....

Here's what went down:

Hun.e.B 11-18-2007 11:06 AM

I feel skinny today! LOL...I love days like this where you can just tell you are losing weigh and getting smaller. I still think if I stay the course I could totally be in the 220s on thanksgiving. That will also be 25 lbs lost for me. So exciting!!!

I've got a bunch of homework to do today. No football for me since the broncos play monday night. Tomorrow is going to be busy busy busy!

I dont know about anyone else but I'm just antsy about starting cooking for Thanksgiving. I wanted to start something last night but there's nothing to really do this early. I'm telling you this energy thing is freakin me out! I cant just sit and watch a movie anymore I gotta be doing something. This must be how fit and healthy people are LOL!

~melissa

Okay menu yesterday:

breakfast: coffee (dh ate all the sausage!)
snack: pepperonis w/ cream cheese
lunch: cheesy beef hotdog w/ mustard
snack: huge romaine salad
dinner: chicken w/ broccoli, alfredo sauce over soy noodles
snack: diet orange soda

I'm looking forward to after Thanksgiving when I can do some different breakfast options like oatmeal and yogurt w/ berries and granola!

Dont forget to post your weigh ins tomorrow! Have a wonderful sunday everyone!

Robot 11-18-2007 11:43 AM

OK, I once again ate horribly yesterday, but I will post it to get it out there. Maybe it'll help me do better today.

Saturday
Breakfast: Coffee and a banana
Lunch: Cheese cubes and a bowl of Cocoa Krispies w/soy milk (I know, not a good mix)
Dinner: Doritos
Snack: More Doritos

I need to stop eating Doritos. I'm pretty sure if I read the ingredients, I'll find MSG, along with other ingredients that are destroying my body.

Shay 11-18-2007 12:05 PM

Oops I forgot that I am going to a Creative Memories Open House today. So my menu will change but of course I will remain OP. My friend specifically made 1pt cookies for me. Wasn't that sweet? I will check in later because after the Open House I'm stopping by my parents house too.

Diva 11-18-2007 05:22 PM

Well the show went well... too well in fact. I only have 10 of the paper type journals left... So I have to work over-time again this week. I was hoping to relax a little this week since my next show this Saturday is smaller, but oh well I guess it's a good problem to have right? But no relaxing for me because I still have another show after that.

I was on plan the last 3 days but since I didn't have time to write it all down I guess I have to bow out gracefully of the challenge, which kills me because I lovvvve handmade things... LOL and I'm curious! :)

Looks like everyone is doing well! Kick *** girls!

Shay 11-19-2007 06:34 AM

Well no change on the scale. I am happy with that based on eating at O'Charley's, Cracker Barrel, and at my friend's yesterday. I really want to lose at least 1 pound this week. I know it's Thanksgiving but dammit I don't want to have to type 221 in again. Besides if I lose 1 pound I will have lost 20 lbs overall. 18 lbs for the challenge but 20 overall. I will do my best.

TOM has arrived but I am still down 2 LBS! :cheer2: I'm happy but I really wanna be OUT of the 200's!!! I am 8 oz's less than my starting weight to this challenge though, so that's good. We have 3 weeks left! I so don't want this to end....I'll miss all of you...maybe we can make an "Off Challenge thread" to keep up with the support throughout the Holiday's?

Also, I really think I am becoming a picky eater, or I am getting sick or something, but 2 night's in a row, I haven't wanted to eat dinner.

Hun.e.B 11-19-2007 09:41 AM

Good Morning Sunshines!! Well this is what I woke up to today

http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k4...3/snowday2.jpg

and the good news is there is 3 to 6 inches more to come! Yay! Power is out all over town because of downed powerlines and they are saying travel is only if its an emergency or if you have to get to school....can you believe that! Only one day till they are out on break and they still make em go in this!

Okay that means I've got to leave alot earlier and I've got some shoveling to do so I better get, I'll be back later to check on you if I can. Super busy day for me as the PTA puts on dinner for the teachers today and I've got both Parent Teacher Conferences this afternoon.

Be good! NOONE is out of the challenge yet!! Oh and I'm down 4lbs!!!

Mercee 11-19-2007 10:27 AM

Morning all!!

Sorry I have been AWOL for a week. Ihave been extremely busy I had 2 funerals last week one was out of town( my best friend's mom and a close family friend's wife) and I had my neice's baby shower on Saturday afternoon which I helped give. Any way my weight is the same basically(actually down a 1/2 lb). You girls sure have gotten mighty chatty lately. Congrats to all the losers!!! Great job Diva and Melissa. Keep up the good work. I start tonight at the gym. I am excited about that. What a beautiful picture I love snow. Have a great day everyone. I only have 1 more day at work and then I am on vacation. Yipee!!!

Diva 11-19-2007 10:32 AM

WOW! Melissa!

That is absolutely beautiful! I am sooooooooooo jealous!!!!! We love snow!!!!
Congratz on the 4lb loss this week! WoooHoooo! You go gf!!!!
Have a great day. I'm gonna gp play the Sims 2 now, hehe!

Hun.e.B 11-19-2007 11:17 AM

Oh my goodness gracious my arms are killing me! I should have taken a picture of my car this morning. I started to sweep it off (the snow is really wet so its super heavy) and then got to thinking wtf am I doing! Drive dh's truck because its got 4 wheel drive. So then I have to brush his off too. I just finished shoveling the sidewalks...talk about a workout! I LOVE SNOW!! I really do I think this is fantastic and I hope it keeps on clear on through the week. Maybe then we'll get that white Christmas I'm dreaming of! I just want to stay home all day and bake...too bad i've got so much on the plate!

My arms are so shaky from shoveling I'm thinking maybe I dont need my coffee this morning LOL!

Okay I better hit the showers! Remember to post up those weigh ins!!

~melissa

Hun.e.B 11-19-2007 11:21 AM

Oh I lied!!! LOL! I guess I forget last weeks weighin so I actually lost 2 lbs this week not 4...but still fantastic!!!

~melissa

Shay 11-19-2007 12:41 PM

Congrats on the losses everyone. Hopefully I will be joining in next week. A beautiful picture--Melissa. Its not cold enough for snow here. And for some reason we always get it in February so we have a while to wait.

Diva--I was thinking the same thing about keeping in touch during the challenge break. Besides we might not even be on the same team in the next challenge. That's if everyone decides to do it again. I was thinking we could start a "Bob's Girls" thread. I mean anyone could join in not just us. That way it won't be specific to the show or even the challenge. Or an "Always Red" thread. Something like that to ensure we keep in touch. It could start right after the challenge ends and continue on forever. It can be done weekly or monthly.

Idealmuse 11-19-2007 04:30 PM

4lb! Yeow! Awsome M and such pretty snow! We had rain here. Blah.

I'm only down one. Don't know if it's the stress or water retaining this week, but I'm grateful for every pound.

This means 1 more pound and I hit my challenge goal. Actually i already hit it because 25 was the low end and 30 was the "would be nice but no going to be upset if it doesn't happen" goal

So I'm excited and 2 more lbs will be -70! Woo Hoo! Soooooo close to halfway there! (-75)

Okay off to mail some Etsy orders and stop by the doo-dad store for more junk for my books.

later!

LeedaRenee 11-19-2007 08:27 PM

I ran 3.2 miles today. I am so totally off my training schedule, but I will make do. I have a busy thanksgiving weekend coming up, so fitting in my runs will be kind of hard, but it must be done. I'm going to do yesterday and today's menu since I'm done eating for today and about to go to bed shortly.

Yesterday:
B: grapefruit (bleck!), coffee, 1/2 apple/flaxseed pancake
S: none
L: turkey burger, fries
S: apple
D: chicken gumbo (made with lots of veggies and good fats ) and brown rice, cup of grape juice

Today:

B: 1/2 apple/flaxseed pancake, coffee
S: banana, small bowl of cheerios w/2 percent milk
L: elbow macaroni, w/tomatoe sauce
S: 1/4 cup sunflower seeds, jello pudding
D: hotpocket (I know, not the best, but I stayed in my calorie range)

Melissa--2 pounds is still fabulous, congrats!! :carrot: That is a beautiful picture. I have rarely seen snow like that in real life. I will probably never see it down here.

Muse--you are are doing so great! You are so right, every pound gone is a blessing!

Diva---I PLAY THE SIMS as well!! I love it, I'm addicted to it!!

Shay---that's a good idea about keeping a thread going. I like the "Always red" Idea, I am not too fond of being one of Bob's Girls (since he has a lumpy head and all :p )

Diva--I really like TBL Girls Chat. You start it and I will be there.

I talked with BF about Thanksgiving today and we changed the game plan. I am not that fantastic at cooking. If the recipe is really simple I generally can't mess up but at a time like this I really don't want to mess it up. So the plan was Boston Market but then I decided I did not want to deal with that madhouse. I bought a rotisseire chicken--having turkey is not a big deal to us-- which we can take the skin off. I have tons of steamed veggies to choose from. I bought sweet potatoes which I haven't decided if we will eat like a baked potato or I will mash them. Dessert will be fruit salad. I have biscuits and corn muffins too if we decide to eat them. We are both on the same page. I may lose weight during this time after all. We shall see.

I am done eating for the night. I only made one change to the menu. I ate 100 calorie chocolate instead of baked cheetos. I forgot to pack the cheetos. Thank goodness I have a snack drawer as my back up plan. Still on plan and doing well.

Today's Updated Menu

S--100 calorie chocolate
L--frozen meal with banana
S--100 calorie pack
