Weighed in this morning and I'm down 2lbs, thats better than I thought I was gonna do. This is also measurement week for me so I'm hoping for big results! I ate clean today, drank my water and then some, and got in a couple good workouts. I even did the dishes, dusted, and did some laundry :carrot:.

I exercised today!! Tried to talk myself out of riding my bike to campus because it was ominous looking of rain, but i decided to just suck it up and do it anyway. And it didnt rain! I had the most amazing dinner tonight! Chicken fundido. I've given up making new menus for the family so I try out a mini version just for myself first and if they like it then I'll make it another time for everyone. Well tonights dinner went over so well I had 2 little birds, one on either side of me, begging for more bites! This was a dinner we used to order all the time at our favorite Mexican place in Phx and have missed it terribly since moving here. I think I finally figured out the recipe...or at least something close! And totally on plan for me!! Okay time to go veg out and relax! I'll be on quickly to post results in the morning but then off to classes all day! I'll check on you in the afternoon!! Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!! |

Where on earth is the red team? We are getting smeared in the exercise challenge. Although I'm thinking the times arent long enough because on Day 1 we are already to the first destination, but perhaps thats the idea. Also, for those of us who post later in the day we dont have a chance of getting there first.

Dang! Just got home and was sad to see that I missed out on the exercise thread, I could of posted 185 minutes for our team :(. So is it right that I can count my minutes from today tomorrow? So we are starting with 115 plus what i do tomorrow right? I post right away so I don't miss out again.

Danielle-We don't have a Costco around here is it comparable to a Sams or Walmart? I think we have less people then all the other teams though so it would be a bit tricky for us to "Get There" quite as fast so don't be too hard on us!
Today I'm feeling kinda run down and my ankle hurts from rolling it (and tripping) when I did a trickier step video with new moves last night. I probably had no business trying it yet as it was too advanced for me. It's fine just a bit sore. The good news is I could do the bulk of the video, but man some of those spins off the step are kinda crazy. So, yeah, I won't be coming over to clean your tubs but I was SO going to... well as soon as you sent me the airfare anyway :P |
Hey Red Team! I power-walked an hour last night! That scale is going to move the right way this week! Thanks to those who were encouraging about the gain, I did exercise way more than usual, but just walking. I'm so out of shape that I though I'd start with that. And I did think about the salty foods, maybe that was it? I'm trying to drink more water, hopefully that'll balance it out. I just went to the doc to have him test my thyroid. I take medication for it now, but I'm wondering if my dose needs to be upped. If nothing else, that would help my energy levels!

I've been trying to get back into working out. I dunno if I should be posting it in y'alls exercise thread being that my number's don't count. :( But Monday I did about 50 minutes of the Dancing With the Stars workout, and today i am gonna do some Biggest Loser workout. I felt like poo yesterday so I slept alot. Also on Tuesday I resisted the urge to get a fast food breakfast and came home and had Raisen bran instead. :spin: Hope you all have a great day!!! :) |

Alright...kids are off to school and work so I can hit the books. I've got 2 exams tomorrow...blech!
I sure hope the sky lightens up today so I can get out there and ride my bike to school. Can you believe we actually have snow on the mountains already? Seems so early to me. I think AF is on her way so I'm not expecting big numbers on the scale this week. I've been so horrible and stepping on that stupid hunk of metal every morning!!! So aggrivating I need to take my own advice and stop it! My big goal to day is to drink more water. Shouldnt be too hard sitting here right?! I hope everyone has a fantastic Wednesday!! Well I did about 20 minutes of TBL cardio until I got irritated, and then I popped in WATP and did 2 miles with Leslie. I don't like the cardio portion of TBL. It didn't seem to flow for me and I was barely working up a sweat. :(

Just got home from riding my bike to class. What a beautiful Fall day! Tonight is the pep rally for homecoming...I think I'll go since this is my last one till I graduate! Having another good day- 3 in a row, hooray! lol Feels great to get some good days behind me though. It's all about choosing to be in control for me. I did my short t-tapp workout and also did some run/walking on the treadmill. It was easier than Monday and I had some recollection of how good running feels when I'm in shape. Just gotta put some time in again so I can longer than 2 minute intervals, lol. Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday! |
I'm around but I'm trying to get some work done. Plus, tub guy is coming tomorrow to refinish the tub so, I have to finish cleaning today too.
Foot is still tweaky... did exercise, but could only put in like 75 percent effort. |
It does feel good to get some good days in. I feel like things are starting to calm down a bit here. Still crazy but at least not so much. I have got 2 days of exercise and I have plans to go and walk tonight. As far as eating when I am on plan I am really good but if I even have a little slip up I totally lose it. I am running out of ideas of new things to try! But I do enjoy the red wins at least I am thinking about it.

Bridgette, yeah I was bummed too to see how the exercise challenge was going....but hey, at least we're gettin healthy in the process, eh? ;) Yes, Costco is just like a Sam's...big wharehouse typa deal. I love finding yummy foods there! Muse, I hope you're feeling a little better this afternoon. Ouch! I am famous for rolling my ankles, I go down at the drop of a hat constantly and much to the embarrassment of my kids! :lol: Yeah, the tub thing....I'm thinkin that I wouldn't wanna go clean anyone elses cause I hate cleaning my own. ha! Getting in here late today, sorry gang.
Had a busy morning.... went to see the symphony with DD2 and her school. It was amazing! DD1 really wants to persue a career or something-or-other in music like this and while watching it gave me goosebumps to think of that being her one day playing all that beautiful music! Was a really great trip and well worth the headache I got to & from on the bus listening to all that chatter! :dizzy: Having a very off day as far as eating and exercise. Field trip threw me off big time and now I'm struggling to play catch-up. Missed breakkie and gnitpicked lunch....stress is brewing over here again and I am fighting it (kelli this is where my all or nothing attitude comes into full swing!) .... Have a busy evening as well, so will do my best to fit in some form of exercise somewhere....... DS has guitar and then we have a parent meeting for a Washington D.C. trip for DD1 in spring.... $$ and more $$ pouring out! Ladies, have a spectacular evening and keep fighting the good fight!!! |

Today has been a great day for me. I apologize for not being on the message board more often I have had a wicked week at work. I have gotten in all my water so far this week and am working on consistent exercise. I am feeling much better now than I have in the past. Everyone keep up the good work and let's kick put at the weigh in. |

Yeah the step I use is one of those club ones like they used in the 90s. You wouldn't know it because they aren't popular anymore but they still make all kinds of current DVDs for that thing. The Transfirmer basically is a step just has that extra step/incline included. I don't have a Transfirmer but I have the DVDs that came with it. I've only attempted one of them once and that was last summer and I wasn't really ready for it yet. I might try one again later this year. Some of those moves in the transfirmer require supporting your own body weight in ways I can't quite do yet. :) Step isn't my favorite thing but It's semi fun once you start getting past the basic steps. I like to throw it in a few times a week so I don't outwear my love for Turbo Jam! -muse |

I have been doing AWESOME since Monday and I hope to pleasantly surprise everyone and myself with my weigh in next week. ;) I feel really good too!!! Much more patient with my kids, not as tired as I was before. I just feel good! Hopefully everyone else is have a good week! |
I love how everyone is sticking to their diet and exercise plan. We're going to kick butt in weigh ins. I haven't done a whole lot of exercise, because my knee has been killing me.
I weighed myself this morning, and couldn't believe it. 174! I was 179 last week. |
Great job on the loss Veggielady! I have been kicking butt in the food category myself. Water, still struggling, but still trying to get it in. Exercise--still not doing it. No excuse--just lazy!

Like - Water seems to be a struggle for a lot of us. Once in awhile I'll throw in one of those lemon or lime flavor packets and that helps a bit, but I still don't find myself drinking water unless I purposely try to.

I know I usually have to force myself to drink water and find myself putting lemon juice in it. Maybe one day, we'll get used to drinking it.

Hey everyone :) I just wanted to pop in quickly and say hi and share my surprising little victory this week of losing 3lbs after weeks of being at a plateau :D I was quite excited as I hadn't really done anything different this week :)

I just realized tomorrow is weigh in day for me. I've not had any water today (speaking of water) normally I at least get my 2 liters. But, I seem to have picked up this nasty little cold from my daughter...isnt she nice to share! But when I feel so much head conjestion I just cant seem to bring myself to get the water in. Throat is sore, ears are plugged and nose is plugged and none of that OTC stuff helps other than to give me dirty ol shoe mouth which water just makes worse! Whoa is me! LOL!! I had 2 exams today and I'm beginning the studying for my tax exam for next week which is probably gonna put me 6 feet under! Talk about stress! So if you dont see much of me thats what I'm doing! I just got my Jillian Michaels DVDs in the mail, did one tonight and she definitely kicked my a$$, just what I needed! I got off my food plan tonight, my SO was making cookies and I think habit just kicked in or something, I ate a bunch of the dough and two finished cookies. argh! Stupid habit! I don't think he's trying to sabotage me, he's just tired of not having any junk food around. (Well, if he hadn't eaten all the light ice cream, we would still have some junk, lol) How did everyone else do on their eating plan this week? |

Just ran through Turbo Jam Cardio Party 3 for the first time. Wow! I've come a long way since I started I can't even believe I got through that thing... and without too much trouble. Don't get me wrong it was quite the workout, but when I looked at it last year I couldn't keep up with the speed past the first punching segment. Just one of those nice non-scale victories. Tub guy has to come back next week we had to get a new faucet because he can't do it with it dripping. Thought he could just turn off the water but he needs water for the job. ah well... Good morning everyone, just got my workout in and ate me some Special-K because I got the shakes after working out. I hate when that happens... Besides that funny feeling I feel good. :)
Did any of you see that episode not too long ago with Dr. OZ on Oprah? They did some study with water and he said that unless you are dehydrated that ya don't have to drink a bunch of water everyday, unless ya just want to, that it makes no diference in hydration for your skin and what-not. I don't remember his exact words, maybe it's on her website someplace. He said really they only benefits to drinking water when you are trying to lose weight is to make yourself feel fuller. I was shocked, but since then I haven't been forcing myself to gulp down two to 3 of the 33.8 oz bottles everyday. Because 1 cup of coffee and milk with my cereal everyday, all I ever drink is water, so I guess I am doing ok. I drink alot while working out, well, a bottle, and then I sip on another throughout the day... Maybe I can find the exact wording for those who didn't see it. Have a great weekend!!! |

Well I had a little slip up last night...my first one in 20 days if you can believe that! So I decided not to weigh in this morning. Why torture myself right? I'll give it a couple of days to hopefully flush out. Right back on track today though!! Diva...I took a class on nutrition a few semesters back and they say that if you are eating properly that your foods should keep you properly hydrated. Maybe it is just helping to keep you full but I swear I lose more weight if I'm getting 2 to 3 liters of water a day. And I can definetly tell those days that I dont. Muse....going and getting yourself into great shape are ya! LOL!! Way to go!! Thats gotta feel great to get through the whole video and not feel like dying!! Excellent work! Lawmom...ugh cookies!! Those little buggers can get ya everytime!! I've done pretty darn fantastic on my eating plan but for last night. Way to go on your meeting with Jillian...she'll definetly whip you into shape! LOL!! I hope you all are ready for another great weekend! I can't believe that we are already going to be going into October! The days are flying! So, I'm not sure what I'm gonna do about weigh in. "Technically" today is it for me but I am up. WAY up. I have NO idea why either. I've been eating right, exercising, getting my water in....and I get a really ugly number on the scale. I may take one for the team this week and take a freebie, not sure. Busy day here, have tub guy coming in a few and someone to look at my dryer. When it rains it pours! Stress is big in my house at the moment, not with maintenance issues, but with finances...I may be going back to work and I am :mad: Long story there, but let's just say I was told to quit my job (per dh) and work on myself to get healthy.... and now its being taken away. 'nuff said..... Will have to see how things play out in the next coupla days, may not get to visit so much with ya'll. Anywho, ladies, have an awesome day and an even better weekend! Thank you Diva for that link. I find myself forcing water down when I can, and I hate it. I eat plenty of foods with water in it, like grapes, so I'm hoping I should be fine. Although, I will still try and get used to drinking water since it's better than soda.
Danielle - I'm sorry you're so stressed out. If you need to take a freebie week, I don't think any of us would mind. I hope you get everything situated. |
Well being on a reduced calorie diet I feel like I probably do need to add a bit of water to my day, but mostly because I'm sweating out a bunch when I exercise, so i still find it important for me to try and drink some... plus I'm trying to cut out diet soda, so I have to drink something, but yeah I saw that show too. I did read somewhere though that water is key in helping flush out the ickies that are released from the fat cells apparently we store all kinds of fun stuff in there.. hormones... old medications... etc etc.
