Hi everyone,
I have no clue when I last checked in. Yesterday, day before, I dunno. I got off early today. Well really I was supposed to get off at 11am but I left about 1:30pm. Anyways, I am hanging at my parents house waiting for my mom to get home. She has DirecTV so she has way more channels than me. I have expanded basic cable but I feel like they are always getting rid of a different channel every month. I'm watching FitTV now trying to get motivated. I think TBL is on the Style channel but I don't know what season. Still doing well with food. No changes with water or exercise. I've snuck on the scale and as I predicted earlier in the week "it's gonna be a great week"! |
Not much to say this morning, its raining and some people are whispering snow already! Down 3.2 lbs though!! Yay!
Off to stick my nose in the books till its time to head downtown! Have a wonderful Saturday Red team. Seems as though we are already down to our 5 or 6 regular posters and the rest of the team is MIA??? I really hope thats not the case! Our team does have over 20 members on it, the support should reflect that, thats why we joined a team challenge right? Stop by and let your team know how things are going! ~melissa |
Good Morning Red!
Been a little quiet around here, I hope its only 'cause everyone is exercising hard and busy with family, etc! :D Tera, thank you so much for your kind words, I needed them. Things will get figured out in the end, let's just hope the strain doesn't kill me first. LOL I will get thru! But again, thanks for acknowledging my disappointment and also about my issue w/ a gain. I hope you are off to a fabulous start to your weekend!!! likenoother, hope you enjoyed your time at mom's house with her tv! ;) I cant wait to hear your weigh in results! LawMom, still getting kicked around by Jillian? :p I may have to dust mine off and give 'em a whirl this weekend. We can compare notes! LOL Sorry about the cookies, but I'm glad you're back at it stronger than ever! Ladies, have a great day and keep shining! |
Need sports bra advice. I am starting the C25K in November and I want to be ready. No excuses. So I need to go sports bra shopping. The ones I have are okay but I want 1-2 that I use specifically for running to really hold the "sisters" down. I'm a "D" cup. I found the sports bra sticky and will research those suggested but I'm wondering if any of you had any ideas too. Thanks.

Good morning Red Team!
I haven't posted on the chat thread in a while, but I have been posting my exercise minutes! I've been busy and my allergies have been kicking my butt at night, so I haven't gotten as much sleep as I should and I feel sort of blah because of that. I have managed to keep up with exercise fairly well, calories are okay, but quality of food has been a bit uneven.:( Oh, well, I'm just doing the best I can. I'm down a pound again this week and I have to say that I am really getting results with the workout I'm doing (Turbulence Training). I just measured and I'm seeing results even though I've only lost 3 pounds since I started (4 weeks ago), including a half-inch loss on my right arm. Yay! I've always had big arms even at my lowest weight. Even my waist measurement is down half an inch, and it's been two months+ since that's changed. I have a thick waist so that's amazing! Anyway, I recommend it to anyone who wants to try something different and you can get a bunch of the workouts for free online. It's pretty much all bodyweight exercises, so you can easily do it at home. Plus some horrid intervals. I won't dwell on those, but that's what's supposed to really kick up the fat-burning. It looks like our tema's going to have some great losses this week! Good for everyone for their exercising and eating efforts, especially as time is passing and that initial excitement wears off. And yeah, guys, I've heard that recently about huge amounts of water not being as necessary as I thought. Helps take some of the guilt off of me, since I don't always drink as much as I thought I should. I'd much rather have coke zero. The cherry kind.:o Likenoother, I've found the champion sport bras to be pretty good and are reasonably priced if you order them from OneHanesPlace--I like the ones with the underwire built in, but then I'm only a (shrinking) C. The one that people really rave about is the Enell, and there might be people on here who have those. Well, I've got to go get ready for work. It just never ends . . . :dizzy: Have a great day everyone! |
Hi red team!! I had a 1 pound loss this week. It is better than nothing!:dizzy: I felt like I was going to have more and I do see a difference in my body shape. Today I put on a pair of capri's and they started to fall off! At my weight that is a great feeling :carrot:!! I got in lots more exercise this week. I am going to journal next week to keep track of what I am eating. I think that I had some mindless eating going on this week.
Great Job to all to all the losers this week!! :cheer: |
Just wanted to stop by and say hi and :congrat: to all Losers !
I've had a gain this week and I'm so miserable about it :( Sorry to let my team down. We had an unexpected trip out of town this week and although it was very pleasant it threw me off of plan. No exercise and eatting out a lot. Ok. hun e. b. kick me :D |
Thanks Ann. I think I may go with Enell. That was one of the ones I researched. I saw the pictures on the website and it looks like A LOT of support. I think I will adjust my start date of the C25K to November 6th so I can start on a TBL night. That way I will be exercising will watching. Gotta go. I have some things to do before the Gator game at 8pm.
|
likenoother,
I LOVE the FitTV! I watch it to to get motivated and I have about 4 or 5 shows saved on my DVR. I have a Ball workout from there that totally kicks ***! My abs have been hurting ALL day today from my FitTV ball woekout yesterday! I'm hurting in places I didn;t know I had muscles! LOL! The side ways situps ROCK! Anywho, back to the gators game!!! Go GATORS!!!! |
I have an Enell - It works well!
|
Hey everyone! Just checking in, Jillian's still kicking my *** and I've been walking too. Yesterday was my birthday, so I had some cake but I think I'm just going to throw the rest of it away so I'm not tempted to eat anymore of it. Weigh-in tomorrow for me, I hope it goes well!
|
Kelli--Congrats on the one pound loss and the loose pants! :carrot:
justgetitdone--Sometimes gains happen. The scale is really likely to go up from the salt in restaurant food. Just keep going and it will come off again. Diva--I just got a ball and am looking forward to getting started on it. LawMom--throw out that cake! That's what I'm starting to do if it's something I don't think the rest of the family will inhale right away. Then I don't have to think "should I eat it or not?" I'm sitting here in my pjs drinking coffee, but I'm going to do my workout soon, then have breakfast. I don't feel hungry at all this morning, for whatever reason. I have dinner all planned out and even took the meat out of the freezer (I always forget to do that!). I think I will do some laundry, I know should study and wash my kitchen floor, and I'm not sure what else I'll do today. |
Everyone is doinf a fantastic job this week. I lost 2 lbs this week ,which I think is all due to my TOM. I need to inplement a better schedule for myself. It feels like most days there are just not enough hours in the day to accomplish everything I want to. Any ideas would be much appreciated. I spend almost 12 hours a day at work(that includes the hour commute each way). By the time I get home it is time to cook dinner, clean up, and then I am so exhausted that I end up going to bed. I have managed to get a little exercise time on my lunch break this week, but I would like to set a more concrete schedule for myself. I know it is hard but maybe if I get a few suggestions I can form a new perspective. I find that if I want to make a permanent change I need structure. On that note thank you for letting me ramble and I wish you all the best of luck this week.
|
Make sure you get your weights posted Red Team, they are due Monday by 11:59EST
Thanks |
OMFG! I am upset. I'm injured. I was walking and talking and not paying attention and twisted my ankle/foot whatever. It HURTS!! It is the same foot I broke 15 years ago. I'm elevating and icing it now. I hope that solves the problem. Thank goodness I'm not doing the C25K until Nov. I hope I don't have to go to the doctor.
|
LawMom, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! :flow2: :flow1: I do hope you enjoyed your day sweetie! Good for you for chuckin the rest of the cake. To me, too much temptation w/ it laying around! Stay strong lady!
timeforachange, congratz on your 2 pounds! I know what you mean about finding a schedule that works to fit everything in. Some days I'd swear I need to put on my "supermom" cape because it's just not possible to fit it all in. lol I hope you find something that works for you, I am currently trying to figure it out myself! :dizzy: just get it done, aw 1 pound. I'm sorry. It'll be gone before ya know it. I hope you had a good time out of town, tho? I had a super huge gain this week and I have absolutely no idea why. NONE. I've done everything to the letter and all I got to show for it was a 7.5lb gain! Needless to say, I'll be taking a freebie this week! Hang in there hon, you're doing fab! kelli, yay 1 pound lost! You're shrinking babe, your clothes are proof! :carrot: likenoother, I'm so sorry you're hurt! I hope you feel better soon! |
Hi ladies! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm doing good. I've exercised a lot more than usual this week, which is good:carrot:. I took the last two days off, just wasn't enough time in the day. Today, is a different story, later I'm gonna get a run in and I think we are going to take DD bowling this afternoon. Didn't do so good on my eating this week, ate out too many times and had too many alcoholic beverages...I know :frypan: we had a birthday party and I let myself get out of control...but I'm back on track today. Yesterday I went shopping at Dillards and was excited to be able to shop in the misses not the womens department, not only that, but I bought a smaller size of jeans, if thats not motivating I don't know what is :D
Congrats to all that have lost this week. Timeforachange: What works best for me is getting up an hour early and exercising. That way I get it done and out of the way. I'm more likely to make excuses later in the day why I don't have time. Good luck on making your schedule. LawMom: You'll have to let me know which of Jillian's dvds are her best ones. I was gonna put one of her dvds on my netflix list but didn't know which to choose. Diva: how I wish I had a DVR.:( I just pumped up my exercise ball but have yet to use it. Is there a show or dvd you would recommend? likenoother: I hope you find the support your looking for:D. Good luck on the C25K. I've love running and hope you find enjoyment in it too. Justgetitdone::club: Hope you're back on track now... Kelli-great job! One pound is great, you're moving in the right direction. I know how ya feel about the loose pants, its great isn't it.:D Melissa: I'm here...I'm here... my goal next week...more posts, more exercise, clean food and less beers. Hope you enjoyed your weekend. Mariposita: Great job on inches lost. Thanks for the tip, I'm always looking for new forms of exercise. On Turbulance Training, do you need hand weights if so how heavy? Danielle- Hey girl, you hit the nail on the head...Been an exercising fool...and my head is spinning from all the running around I've done this last week. This next week doesn't look much better.:dizzy: But I guess, I wouldn't want it any other way. Did I see in an earlier post you may have to go back to work...That sucks. I would love to be able to stay at home. I wouldn't even mind working out of my home..as long as it wasn't daycare... Muse: I definitely think water has its benefits. Before starting 3FC I used to rarely drink water. I drank mostly diet coke. In the evenings I'd eat a big supper and still be craving something sweet. Once I weened myself off diet coke I quit having those urges. I try and stay away from the diet stuff (cuz its soooo addicting), if I feel that I "need" a pop then I drink one regular pop to satisfy the urge. Good luck on kicking the can to the curb:kickcan: Have a great day! Bridgette. |
LawMom: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY:bday2:
likenoother: oh man...I feel for you..I hope your injury doesn't derail you for too long.. |
Idealmuse--Thanks for the input
Sugar N Spice & dream710--Thanks for the support Its worse than I thought. I can't even bear weight on my right foot. I am doing my best to stay off it but I probably need to go to the doctor tomorrow. Damn me! Well, luckily I had been sneaking on the scale even though I weigh in on Mondays. So I just reported my weight today. I'm down 3 lbs. I am very happy with that! If I keep it up I should definitely make my Halloween goal and my TBL goal. The positive--at least I haven't been exercising so it doesn't derail that plan :)! But I hope it doesn't last too long to delay my C25K plan. |
Hi everyone!
Likenoother- I'm sorry about your injury. I hope you get better soon. Happed Belated Birthday, LawMom. Congrats on everyone who lost weight! Justgetitdone, I know you feel bad for the gain, but don't worry, I know you'll kick butt next week. Ugg, I'm just a little peeved. I was starving, and everyone wanted pizza for dinner. I decided to get a garden salad and avoid the pizza at all cost. Well, I did manage to avoid the pizza, but another problem arose. The garden salad I ordered was supposed to contain lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes and olives. Well When I open my salad, I find everything that was supposed to be in the garden salad, but with an additional ingredient...about a pound of feta cheese. It was insane. I've never seen that much cheese on a salad in my life. I was trying to eat around the feta, but that was impossible since feta breaks up into tiny pieces. I was just pissed off, and didn't feel like going all the way to the pizza place to complain about a salad. OK, I feel a little better now. Sorry for my rant. I'll try not to let it bother me too much, even though I'm starved! |
Looks like everyone had a great week!
Sorry guys i couldn't help myself I hit the 500 minutes on the challenge, but I think we should keep going until we all hit it! I probably put in about 2 hours more then I usually would, so it may pay off. :) |
Thanks Veggielady for the support. I have a 9am dr's appt. Ugh! Mom is helping out this morning and BF will be over later. Thank goodness so I don't have to crawl or hop all over my apt like I've been doing since yesterday. I'm thinking it will be another great week for weightloss then because I will really think before making that trek to the fridge.
Idealmuse--Congrats on reaching the 500 minutes! |
Morning all!!
I am down 1 lb. But it is still a loss. Congrats to all the losers big and small!! |
Good morning all! Can you believe it is the first day of October?
Sorry I forgot to say :bday2: to you, LawMom! And Likenoother, I hope you're feeling better and if you go to the doctor, you find out it's something simple. Bridgette, you don't need any weights for TT. I'm still in the first series of workouts and so far I've needed a step for doing step-ups and split squats and a resistance band for an arm exercise. I use the step my dogs use to jump up onto the bed, which isn't fantastic, but it works! You just move your own body weight to do the workout. For example, yesterday's exercises were a warm-up of squats, plank, and push-ups. Then the work-out itself was step-ups, stick-ups, split squats, kneeling close-grip push-ups, bicycle crunch, and hip extension (like hip lifts). Not a huge number of repetitions either, but really effective. OK, ladies, I have a busy day today. I'm at my internship almost the whole day, so I have to shower and dress and pack up all my little healthy snacks. I will so NOT be including the peanut butter cookies I made yesterday. I did sample a few and they were very good. No more today though. And I hope to get some walking in if the weather holds during lunch. It is raining here today though. Have a great day! |
Well, I weighed in this morning and didn't lose any but didn't gain. I'm happy with that considering how naughty :nono: I was this last week. I've packed my lunch for today, all healthy stuff. I'm even gonna try something new...veggie dogs...hope they taste good or all be starvin...
Have a great day. Bridgette. |
Muse-Excellent job on reaching 500. I'm hoping to be there at the finish line with ya tonight.
|
Thanks Ann for the support.
The verdict....sprained ligament in my right foot. I hope I'm saying that right. As soon as he said nothing was broken I lost focus. So I'm home staying off my foot as much as I can and tomorrow we shall see. I have two sets of steps to negotiate at work so that is my hesitation. |
likenoother, congratz on the 3!! :cb: That is so great! I'm sorry to hear about the foot tho, hope it doesn't derail you at all for your plans with the c25k thing. Get rest and dont walk on it too much!
Muse, WTG on reaching that 500! That is absolutely awesome and definitely no need to apologize! That was the whole point of this challenge, to motivate us to move our butts! :D Bridgette, well I think it's great you stayed the same. No gain at least, right? You'll have to fill us in on the veggie dogs, not something I think I'd go for that's for sure! They're not a funky color like veggie patties are they? ;) Mercee, 1 pound is fabulous! :carrot: It IS a loss and that's all that matters! Tera, I hope you're over your salad trauma? ;) I know its frustrating when you think you're getting one thing and get something so totally different. I think you should've just enjoyed the salad completely cheese & all but that's just me and my crazy thinkin'! Now you know to tell 'em NO cheese! Ladies, have a fabulous Monday and keep those exercise minutes rolling! |
Here is who hasnt weighed in yet. Please post your weights ASAP, I really am not going to have time to do results in the morning because I have a major exam so they'll have to wait till afternoon if everyone isnt in by the time I go to bed tonight. Thanks!

Like - Oh no! Well I'm glad it's nothing more serious... but I know how much an injury like that can throw you off balance. Make sure you take good care of yourself! Hun - Mine is recorded. It will always be in early afternoon on Mondays. (edit to add) And I reached 50lbs loss this week (52!) which means 2 things... 1) That big 50 milestone which I've NEVER passed before. I've only lost as much as 50 once before. 2) I'm 1/3 of the way there! Yeay! -muse |
I do have you marked to be an afternoon weigher, its just a reminder for me who I'm still looking for!!
Way to go on the loss though!! 50lbs is FANTASTIC!! I cannot wait to be able to say that! LOL...heck I'm looking forward to being able to say 20 lbs gone!! You are doing GREAT!!! Keep it up! ~melissa |
CONGRATULATIONS MUSE!!!!!! That is so fantastic!
I posted my weight Melissa, sorry it was late. I'm also sorry I haven't been around. I've just been doing so bad. A few more calories here, a little less exercising there and all of a sudden I'm up 7 pounds since July... Before I was complaining how there was NO difference between 175 and 165 and why should I waste my time if you can't tell the difference. Well let me tell you!!!! Five pounds lost over he course of 3 months not noticable, but five pounds gained in the course of two months is VERY noticeable! I'm starting to try really hard! I hope to be more of a fixture here, it's helped me so much in the past. I went running this morning and ate pretty clean so that's a good start. |
Hi ladies, I am still around. Don't have time to reaed now as I have to get DS into bed but I will say that I need to get my bum on track with the eating. Exercise hasn't been so great ut I haven't eaten less t make up for it so the scale isn't budging. I did notice that since I've walked less, I can fall asleep faster. Now isn't that assbackward? LOL. It's very messed up.
Like- I did see your post about the foot injury. Don't mind the finger wagging BUT if the Dr says to stay off it and take it easy, listen to him/her! ;) My mom didn't and it's taken her longer to heal frm her foot injury. (not a sprain but I can't remember what it is right now) Hope you recover quickly. Ideal - I saw your post about the 50lb loss. WTG woman! :carrot: |

sorry i haven't been in here lately, i didn't have my internet til yesterday.
hope everybody is doing well. |
Okay ladies just thought I'd let you in on a little observation. Please do not take this personally or as a lecture. Its just simply something for you to think about.
I keep track of who posts once a week. And I keep track of weigh ins. There is a correlation between people who dont post on a regular basis and gains. You can observe this yourself. Notice when we havent heard from a teammate for awhile when they do come back its usually to report they havent been doing very well. Now there are of course acceptions to the rule. But this is my 3rd round of this challenge, and i've seen it every single round, I'm guilty of it myself. So what can all this mean? Well, you joined the challenge for a reason. What was your reason? Mine was to get and give support. I'm telling you now...that support can make all the difference in the world between failure and success. Everyone has slipups....EVERYONE does! The difference is, when you are active with a support group, those slipups are much smaller, they have less chance of turn into week long slipups. You are much more apt to get right back on the wagon and keep on chugging when you've got a whole group of people who KNOW exactly what you are going through telling you YOU CAN DO IT!! You get out of a support group what you put into it. So when you slip up...tell someone! Tell your TEAM! its what we are here for! And team..when someone says they are slipping give them a boost in the right direction. Let them know that you are not going to give up on them. When you see someone lost...tell them how it makes you feel when YOU lose! Share in the excitement its only going to give you that much more power to beat this weightloss game. If everyone makes an effort to say something supportive to just one other person you'd be amazed at the energy that the entire team can draw off of it. It makes people WANT to come back here and post and see how everyone is doing. and the more people want to come back the less they are going to struggle and the more success our team is going to have! Remember the old saying....you are only as strong as your weakest link? Well that kind of applies here too! So lets ALL be strong...together! We can do this RED TEAM!! We can ALL be the biggest losers!! Okay...I'm done! LOL!! Back to my tax books! Have a great night everyone! ~melissa |
Hey Ladies! Down 1 lb, woohoo! Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! Hopefully this week will be better with no cake around. Believe it or not, I got TWO cakes! Apparently there was some confusion about who was going to make it. I did throw one away and my SO got all mad at me. He has a really hard time wasting food. But I say it'll either go to waste in the trash or on my body. I think he's trying to be supportive, but he does sometimes have trouble with the lack of junk food in the house.
Someone asked about the Jillian exercise DVDs. I've done the Shape Up front and back so far and I'm going to do the cardio kickbox when I get done posting here. I think they're pretty good, but I'm also really out of shape right now. I don't know how good they'd be for someone who exercises a lot already. Jillian has one person doing beginner level and 3 others doing regular, which keeps you motivated to improve, but it's not so hard that you just quit. She cycles through several exercises and then you do them again. So it's easy to follow along the first few times. No dance-y aerobic stuff, which is good for me because I'm totally uncoordinated. There's a lot of jumping and lunges, which are hard for me to really do properly because of knee problems. She only uses handweights and a step. I don't have a step and I can still follow along. Whoa, sorry that got so long! Melissa - Thanks for keeping us motivated! Good luck with the tax, that stuff is soooo not fun! |
I made it to 500...yeah!!!! Not only that but I ran for 25 minutes straight...which I think is awesome...
Danielle- The veggie dogs were good, the texture and color is about the same, they smell a little funny after cooking but taste pretty good. I could definitely eat them instead of the high fat hotdogs I'm used to (they only have .5g fat per dog:D). Muse-great job on the 52lbs..You're an inspiration to us all. :carrot: AmberD-Its good to see you're back on track. Just take it one day at a time and you'll be back in the swing of things. Melissa, I hear what you're saying and it's so true...I'm as guilty as the next guy or should I say girl, when things start going down hill I shy away from checking in and that's not what I want out of this challenge. It's not only about losing weight, it's about having someone who is going thru the same struggles as me, who understands when you just can't say no to that bag of gardettos calling your name from the vending machine. To have someone to pick me up when I fall and tell me to start again, is just the motivation I need. The support and encouragement I get from the RED TEAM is just amazing. I've been a member of 3FC since the middle of July and have lost 22lbs and 12 inches(pretty good right), and I can say that I've only had two people in my everyday life comment on how much better I look. Its your comments and the encouragment you guys give that help me be ok with only two people noticing, cuz I know that I'm working hard and I've got our team to give me that extra little push when needed. So thank you for all you do!( I stop rambling now). Bridgette. |
500 for DREAM! Woo Hoo! (happy exercise dance!)
