Sure thing! I plan on buying it in may and hopefully 50 lbs lighter, because if not I am going to have to get a jacket thingy like the one in the link below to try and hide the arms, but I am busting my butt right now so I won't have to. :D

I can't wait to get married and take pics and post them here for you all. Just like you did. :)

Hun.e.B 10-16-2007 04:30 PM

Okay red team, there are more people on this team than Diva and myself! Where's the support group?

I did my bikeride today...felt good even with my sore knees. I could sure use a massage though, I think the stress of school is getting to me. Got a letter in the mail that if I can keep my GPA where its at I'll be graduating with high honors...Yay!!

Okay off to the school for fundraiser stuff....Sure would like to hear how everyone is doing!

~melissa

Shay 10-16-2007 05:42 PM

I can't remember where I posted that I was staying away from the scale...I lied. I feel better now. It seems as if my body was holding onto those pounds for dear life and now it seems to be loosening its grip. Okay I need to stop going to the grocery store. I cannot fit one more thing in my freezer and my cabinets are looking suspect too. The good thing is I have tons of veggies to steam, lots of healthy snacks , and a lot of choices to help me with planning my menus.

Melissa you are right it is quiet on here. Its really quiet on some other threads I post in also.

I thought it might be interesting for us to post our menus because we are all so successful. Maybe we can do that for Week 7? That would allow us to get ideas and see how everyone is doing it. I do WW Flex Pts and I actually eat a lot of processed foods (because I'm not a big cooker and its convenient) and fast food here and there and still manage to lose weight. It can be done. Everyone has their own way doing it and what works for them.

Hun.e.B 10-16-2007 05:53 PM

I think sharing menus for a week is a fantastic idea! Not only does it show people how you are getting your success but I usually find some good menu ideas from other peoples menus! I dunno about you but i get bored with the same ol same ol!

~melissa

Robot 10-16-2007 05:57 PM

Sharing menus is definitely a good idea. I know it would help me and others stay on their food plan. I ate way too much pasta today, and I feel crappy.

Hun.e.B 10-16-2007 07:12 PM

See thats another benefit, when you know you gotta come tell someone what you ate, you may just be more apt to think about putting the fork in your mouth. Tera...pasta is a huge overeating trigger for me. I dunno why but once I start I cant stop. Can you believe I havent had any pasta for over 30 days! Honestly I havent craved it once either. Now if I could just get over this darn carrot cake craving....GRRR!!

~melissa

Robot 10-17-2007 08:19 AM

I forget how it feels good after a nice workout. I did a 30 min belly dancing video. I love belly dancing, but sometimes feel awkward since I have a gut. Maybe one day, I'll feel sexy doing it. I haven't eaten breakfast yet, but I plan on having a fruit salad since I'm out of my usual Kashi shredded wheat.

Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day.

Hun.e.B 10-17-2007 10:55 AM

Good Morning Tera...normally I'd say good morning Red team but we dont seem to have a team anymore. That makes me very sad considering we've got several weeks to go in this challenge and I for one could use some support in my weightloss journey.

Tera...you WILL feel sexy doing your workout! Sexy is a state of mind and the more you tell yourself you are important, you are beautiful and you ARE worth all this..that sexy feeling will come!! Way to go for staying the course despite being out of the usual! Have a fantastic day!!

I've really been struggling with NOT getting on that scale everyday. My weightloss has slowed down now and the scale doesnt move daily like it did in the beginning so I get frustrated. Stupid I know, because I do know better. But it ends up making me feel like I'm not doing enough, when in reality I have stuck to plan like a champ. So....stay off that stupid scale Melissa!:nono::kickbutt:<<thats me kicking my own butt! LOL!

Have a good one!

Diva 10-17-2007 12:07 PM

Good afternoon Red team, I am still here even though my numbers don't count. Thank God for y'all! LOL!

I seriously think I have PMS because just about everything my man does right now is pissing me off. Night before last for instance, he get's all pissy because as he puts it, "the ONE time he wants cereal @ night, there's NO milk? He's GOT to be kiddin g right? OMG! He has cereal just about EVERY night, that was the first time there WASN'T milk! Grrrrrr:mad: Then last night; remember I told y'all I armed myself with reduced fat snacks right? He actually had to nerve to dip into my Cheese nips and say all jokingly, I am going to finish these...grrrrr...THEN to make matters worse, about 20 minutes after that he STILL has the damn bowl of cereal. So hating him right now!!!! Do I really wanna marry this selfish, inconsidered *** ???!!!! At least at the end of all my suffering and putting up with his crap, I'll be skinny and my options WILL open up.

So, Once he FINALLY went to bed, I did some more sit ups while watching DWTS, and just now I did:

Wedding Workout again:
15 minutes legs
20 minutes High Impact Aerobic's

Thought about throwing in some WATP's but I feel like I got a good workout, so instead I am going to condiiton my hair.

Idealmuse 10-17-2007 12:39 PM

Sorry but I'm working 16 hour days in preparation for my shows... I'm trying to check in but I'm not going to be able to make it as much as I did the first handful of weeks.

Speaking of pasta I had pad thai for the first time in over 6 months. I only ate 1/3 of it last night and told to take it to work for lunch, but of course he didn't so I ate another 1/3 today. Well you know given how good I've been it's not a big deal, but I don't like that I just had to eat more cause it was there. Still within my calories (I guess since who knows HOW many calories are really in those nasty things) but that's not the point.

Okay off to go workout and hopefully swing by the PO and then back to work.

-muse

Idealmuse 10-17-2007 12:43 PM

Hun - the scales been slow for me too the last few weeks it's hard not to get discouraged even though your brain knows better its hard to be as on track when you're not getting the feedback you want... but it will happen just more patience. I shouldn't step on the scale daily either but I do. Most days it doesn't bother me if i'm not down but if it's too frequent I get annoyed.

Diva - Great job on the workouts

Menus? Hm I'll have to think of if anything I eat is interesting... not really.

LeedaRenee 10-17-2007 12:58 PM

I feel really guilty...I check in everyday (sometimes a couple of times) and just don't say anything. I'm sorry the thread has gotten so slow. I am still here and still losing , though slowly.

Sharing menus is great here's mine for today. I noticed that I was getting a little off track with my food/calories (I use the dailyplate), so whenever that happens, I plan my food out. Here's today's menu:

B:Shredded Wheat w/ skim milk, 1 cup strawberries
S: 1 serving baked lays
L: turkey sandwhich, small side salad w/ small amt thousand island dressing, fat free pudding
S: 1 serving of almonds, 1/2 banana
D: chicken salad (grilled chicken, romaine lettuce, tomato, a few croutons, sunflower seeds, small amount of thousand island dressing)...smart ones dessert

I've kept up with my exercise, my current love is yoga and I'm still running. I finally hit the 30 minute mark, so I'm pretty proud. I have a 5k in 10 days! EEK!

LeedaRenee 10-17-2007 01:04 PM

Diva, men are incomprehensible creatures, I don't even try to understand them anymore :/

Tera, if you look at real belly dancers, all of them have a little extra tummy. I think women should have that slight curve. Who wants to belly dance with a flat belly? :) I'm glad you enjoy it. I've tried it but it was too hard for me to concentrate.

Melissa, I'm sorry you and the scale are having a tiff. I get on mine every morning regardless, it keeps me in line. Well, sometimes I do skip if it's TOM, but that's all. I know for some people it is nervewracking. It's not stupid at all to be frustrated with slow weight loss. Iv'e always been a slow loser, so I guess I'm just kind of used to it. It will happen, give it time and don't get too discouraged!

Shay 10-17-2007 01:07 PM

I weigh every day too. I get frustrated when it doesn't move for days in a row. In the past I would have just given up thinking I'm working this hard and nothing is happening? I might as well eat what I want. Thank goodness I don't think like that anymore.

Diva 10-17-2007 01:14 PM

Well since we are all confesing, I have a almost daily battle with the scale too. It's such a bad habbit. I wish I could get it down to once a week. :(

Last week it kicked my butt. I weighed on Monday, and then again on Wed, when it didn't move, I punished it by over eating for 3 days...sigh....

I did the same thing this week, but today instead of eating bad stuff, I am MORE determined to make that damn thing move down by Monday, so I am being a good girl. :) I am learning to turn my anger and frustration over things into exercise. :)

Robot 10-17-2007 05:27 PM

Hi ladies!

Melissa, you're absolutely right. Being sexy is a state of mind. I suppose I'm so used to being in this body, that it gets hard to consider myself sexy. It's strange because I think the sexiest thing about a person is their mind.

Leeda, you're right too. Bellydancers have beautiful curves and aren't waifs. I suppose I forget that curves on me and any other woman are beautiful.

I can tell that a lot of us are struggling with the daily weigh in. I am happy to admit that I haven't been on the since last week. OK, to be honest, I haven't been on the scale because I'm so freaked out that I gained and I don't want to see what the scale says.

AmberD 10-17-2007 08:10 PM

I too am sorry about not being around :( I check in just about every day, but I've been working really long hours and I haven't been doing really well with my weight loss lately. I've been sneak bites of food I shouldn't. Quarter of a bagel here, a half a cookie there, a pepperoni or two... and it's adds up so fast. The long hours have made exercise virtually impossible (not really, but I'm just so tired when i get home....) Just maintaining is a struggle right now.

I know it sounds like the excuse train (and it is) and I don't know how much longer I'm going to ride it before my butt gets into gear.

LawMomVeronica 10-17-2007 09:47 PM

Hey Red Team! Sorry I haven't been around much, work has been sooo busy and my SO has a family member in hospice, so we've been driving back and forth a lot to visit. I think I'm sticking around here for now though, it's just too much time in the car for our daughter (15 months).

I'm excited about my new clothing size, noticed that my pants are looser as well, which is awesome, so I'm forgiving my scale for not moving. I haven't been as on track with my eating this week, so I've been getting back to recording, which always helps me. Well, I need to go let Jillian kick my a$$ for a while, hope everyone is having a good hump day!

Shay 10-17-2007 11:34 PM

Hey everyone,
I actually exercised today and my foot felt alright. Two of my programs started tonight and I wanted to set a good example by exercising too. I supervise recreation programs for individuals with disabilities and they need demonstration and modeling to participate. My staff who run the program do such a great job with them by really encouraging and making them think exercise is just the best thing ever! I won't visit the programs again until the end but I look forward to seeing the improvements when I return.

The scale and I are always in a love hate relationship. I try to hide it so I won't think about but I know its there so its pointless.

dream710 10-18-2007 07:50 AM

Good morning ladies, just checkin in before my morning run. I took a couple days off from exercising, and boy can I tell. Not to mention AF is heading my way. It seems like she lets me know bout 4 weeks before she gets here, I just hate it, oh well I guess thats part of being a woman. I'm back on track with exercising, yesterday I had my date with Gilad and Mari. I'll run this morning and I visit with Mari again tonight. As for the scale I check it most every day, just to make sure I'm in check. I don't get overly excited if it flucuates, I know that I'm probably just retaining water. Even though I weigh everyday, I only record the weight that I see on Monday.

Well I suppose I better go get my run in before its time for me to get ready for work.

Have a great day.

Diva 10-18-2007 08:27 AM

Good morning everyone. We have rain! YAY!!!!

It's good to see some of you back here posting with us. :carrot:

Yesterday I hurt myself doing the cardio section of The Wedding Workout. She does some kick boxing and in one section she does the thing where you stand facing forward and ya jab left to right really fast, well apparently, I have muscles back there on my waist & lower back area that I didn't know exsisted and OMG! Was I ever in some pain last night! I ibuprofen'ed it and went to bed early and this morning I am still a little sore, but I am STILL going to workout, so there!:D

Have a great day everyone. I am so going to enjoy this much needed rain in East TN!!!

LeedaRenee 10-18-2007 08:32 AM

I used to hate my scale when I had an old cruddy one that would give 4 different weights in a row. I finally ordered a tanita, which is fantastic and my best friend. I have to weigh everyday, I will probably always weigh everyday. It's just a part of my plan to lose weight and keep it off :)

I'm about to go running in a few minutes. My goal for the next week is 30 minutes of running. Then I'll take DS to the park to run around a bit and then back home. It looks like it's going to rain, so I'd better go now. I hope everyone has a great day!

Mercee 10-18-2007 09:36 AM

Morning all!!

Leeda- I also weigh almost everyday. I fully understand how weight fluctuates but this is still the best way for me to lose. I remember a few years ago I was reading about how you shouldn't weigh everyday and I took off for about a month to try and get rid of the habit I gained 6lbs. My sister just goes by how her clothes fit. Not me. Well take care I hope everyone has a great day.

Mercee 10-18-2007 09:38 AM

Diva- I am glad to see you are really enjoying those tapes. Keep it up.

Hun.e.B 10-18-2007 11:15 AM

I'm running very behind today as you can tell!! the girls are off school so I decided to skip my first class but I've got to run to the store so they have milk and food for the day while I'm at my other 2 classes!! Its always something isnt it!

I was so bad last night I had pizza!! I let stress get to me! I took my oldest daughter and 3 of her friends to the haunted corn maze and then out for a late meal at mcdonalds. Ugh...4 12 year olds for an hour and a half in the car is NOT fun!! I caved! Hopefully it wont kill me on the scale! I might end up taking a freebie if it does!

Okay off and running, I'm so happy we have people posting...our team came back!...well alot of it anyway LOL!!

Have a wonderful day Redsters!!

~melissa

Diva 10-18-2007 11:26 AM

Ok, not sure what I've done here but about 5 minutes before my workout, i managed to pull something in my back. :?: I puffed my inhaler as to not have an attack during exercise, put my hair up and I have NO idea how but suddenly my lower back is freaking KILLING me. So, here I sit, ibuprofen taken and heating pad on the back wondering WTH?! I hate when this happens. Guess I'll have to take a day of rest, grrrrrrrrr....

Hun.e.B 10-18-2007 12:19 PM

Diva...ouch!! heating pad might not be the best idea though, might be better to try some ice. If something is inflamed the heat will only make it worse. I hope it feels better soon!! Dont push it!

~melissa

Shay 10-18-2007 04:38 PM

I bought a new scale today. Target has Taylor scales on sale and that's the one I have and I like it. I gave my old one to BF. It started to make a click noise when you stepped on it. I think this was from BF stepping on it in timberland boots (he works construction). I didn't tell him that but before he steps on this one he will know the rule. I keep telling him its stupid to weigh at night in all of your clothes with your boots on....whatever. I got a glass one and it measures in 0.2lb increments. I usually round up or down so I'm not quite sure if that really matters to me.

Tomorrow will be an extremely long day for me. I am traveling to recruit interns and go to a workshop. I am planning on leaving as close to 5am as I can and I will probably get back around 10pm or later. Then....okay I won't get started.

Robot 10-18-2007 06:49 PM

Diva, I know how you feel. I used to do karate and I managed to hurt my lower back so bad, I had to go see a doctor. I apparently hurt a small muscle in my lower back that is near the spine. I hated it, because I had to stop doing karate, which was something I loved to do so much. Eventually, my back got better, but I don't have the energy (or the money) to do karate anymore. Maybe one day I'll go back.

Anyway, I hope your back feel better.

Shay 10-19-2007 03:41 AM

Hey everyone, yes it is 3:30am. I'm supposed to be ironing but I'm on the computer. I'm so mad at myself. I have to stop by my office at 4:00 something in the morning because I forgot to get business cards. I always keep some in my purse but its not enough to give out to students. Oh well I figured out I need to grab something else while I'm in there too. Of course I got on the scale this morning and I am very happy but today for lunch and dinner at the conference here's hoping there are healthy options. I think there will be. Tomorrow I've decided at our staff training I will let myself eat two slices of pizza. I've set points aside for it but I still worry. Only the scale will tell. As I've told my co-workers, I'm trying to be the one that doesn't always have to bring my own food. I'm trying to figure out how to eat decently with everyday life and happenings. Okay gotta go. Have a great day and if I'm not too tired when I get back I will check in.

Diva I hope you feel better.

Hun.e.B 10-19-2007 07:01 PM

likenoother...you are doing EXACTLY what you need to be doing...figuring out how to LIVE this new way. You are going to be a success I can tell already!! Enjoy that pizza!

Everyone else....another entire day with no red team?

~melissa

Shay 10-20-2007 06:54 AM

Okay, I got on last night and starting reading posts and feel asleep so here I am. Today is our staff training. So I will only be on here a minute. Afterwards I plan to go get my nails done. Well I have to find out what time the Gators play. I may have to go to the nail shop tomorrow. I had a good day yesterday. I have to record some exercise because I was on a college campus and I definately did some walking. Okay our meals were from the dining hall and there were sooo many choices. They even had a ice cream bar! Anyways here is what I ate at the conference:

Lunch--veggie wrap, banana, diet mountain dew
Dinner--chicken stir fry (it was so good!), piece of bread, banana, and diet pepsi

So pretty good I think. Here's hoping I have the same type of healthy options available at my conference next week.

Starting tomorrow I will begin posting my menus everday. Melissa do you plan to make a new thread for that or do you want us to just post it in here?

Idealmuse 10-20-2007 07:56 AM

Hey girls -

What vitamins do you take? I've been taking OneADay Weight Smart but if I don't take them with food I feel ill. It's not usually an issue but today I forgot and I tried to eat something real quick afterwards, but they ended up making me sick anyway. I have 1 1/2 bottles left but I might switch after this batch. Any suggestions?

Kinda annoying because I took my other med with it and it also came up so now I have to waste one and I pay for that prescription out of pocket so it was like a 4 dollar toilet toss. (Ew)

Already got 1/2 hour of Cathe Basic Step this morning (Still using the first set of step risers) and I'm probably going to either walk or bike ride this afternoon if the weather is nice enough I have to check.

Like - I vote for Pizza is fine as long as you work it in. This has to be a balance thing and pizza will happen now and then so enjoy it. I've had pizza only maybe twice in the last 6 months, but I really enjoyed it more then I normally would have because it was a special treat.

Diva - Make sure you take the moves easy when starting a new exercise tape you don't always have to go as quick/far as they do until you're sure you can handle it. Take care of your back for a few days and start up gentle next time. If you know what move hurt you modify it so it's more gentle.

Veggie - Hope you can get back to M.A. at some point. I've thought about trying it but something about doing it with other people freaks me out. i don't want to fight even if it is "play"

-muse

LeedaRenee 10-20-2007 08:11 AM

Hi ladies, just woke up and after breakfast I'm going for a run and then taking the kid to the park (an even bigger workout lol). My 5k is next Saturday, so I'm trying my best to make the most of this week as far as running is concerned. Up until Friday, which will be a mandatory rest day.

I made lasagna last night for DH and was really tempted to have a piece, along with garlic bread, but instead I cut up some cantaloupe and strawberries and had those. I was proud of myself. The scale has not moved for me this week..a little discouraging, but not totally depressing.

likenoother-- Very good food choices, you're fortunate to have those options at the conference.

Muse--I am still taking my prenatal vitamins and probably will for the next couple of years. One-a-Days usually made me sick too, but they were the only ones I ever took before prenatals, so I can't really recommend any. I hope you find something that works for you.

Hun.e.B 10-20-2007 11:53 AM

Good morning! Rushing out the door as my girls and I are going to the griz game in the cold and rain!! BRRR!! Just wanted to address a few things.

likenoother....I dont think we need to start a new thread for menus, we dont have enough team participation to worry about them getting lost in the mix. But I will be posting my menus right along with you! I'm hoping it keeps me more mindful of having 3 meals!

Muse...when I can remember to take my vitamin I just take a one a day womens. They havent made me feel sick but I do take them with food. I've tried the One a day energy ones..didnt get sick of those either but my dh does big time.

Leeda...oh lasagna! yum! We have a dinner at my dd's school next week that is serving lasagna...I cant have any..boo! LOL! Good luck on your run...cant wait to hear how your 5K went!!

Okay, I'm off to fetch my youngest who spent the night at a friends so we can get into our Griz gear! I hope you all have a WONDERFUL day!!

mikelli 10-20-2007 12:19 PM

Well I didn't think that I was going to have any loss this week but I lost 2 pounds!! I have not been very mindful of my eating but I have been so busy that I an not eating often or too much. I have been getting in most of my exercise.

LeedaRenee 10-20-2007 12:41 PM

Congrats Kelli on the loss!!

Melissa, I was reminded of you this morning. What to know why? Dog poo!

There's a man in my neighborhood who walks his dog WITHOUT a leash and lets it poop and go in everyone's yard. I caught his dog this morning in my neighbor's yard. The guy pretended that he started calling the dog once he saw me, but I could tell that he didn't care less.

Anyway, I got a flat on my jogging stroller so I couldn't finish my run, gah.

Here's my menu:

B:shredded wheat w/ 2 percent milk
S: bran crackers
L: whole grain penne w/ homemade sauce (lots of veggies, tons of chunky tomatoe!)
S: fruit
D: grilled chicken salad

LawMomVeronica 10-20-2007 03:17 PM

Lost 1lb this week! Haven't been watching my diet very carefully, so it must be some kind of crazy fluke. (there was a GIANT basket of chocolate at work all week, who can resist that kind of crazy temptation?! Argh!)

Work has been really, really busy. Have a hearing on Monday and another one on Tuesday that I need to get ready for tomorrow. Now I suppose I better clean my dirty, dirty house. Hope everyone is doing well!

Shay 10-20-2007 04:33 PM

Leeda--I can't wait to start running so I can join you, AmberD, and Dream (is that everyone?) that run on this thread. Lasagna--I made a really good one from cooking light with ground turkey and whole wheat noodles. I don't think it called for ww noodles but I did. Just search for it on www.cookinglight.com. I'm doing WW so I think I figured it out be 8 or 9 points per serving.

Muse--I'm terrible at taking vitamins. I have One a day women's and One day weightsmart. I don't even try to take weightsmart anymore because of the stomach thing. So all that to say I don't have any suggestions for you. You're right about the pizza thing. I can't even remember the last time I've had pizza so it tasted sooooooooo good today.

Kelli--congrats on the loss!

Melissa--That sounds like a plan. I still need to continue planning my menus for next week. I plan specifically for breakfast and my 3 snacks. For lunch and dinner I assign pt values and decide that day what I will eat.

Shay 10-21-2007 12:37 AM

I'm up so I figure I would post my menu for today now. What you will notice about my menus during the next week:

1. I use a lot of convenience/pre packaged foods.
2. I don't deprive myself of anything
3. I need to work on getting more fruits and veggies in
4. I eat 3 meals and 3 snacks everyday. Eating every 2-3 hours keeps me from being extremely hungry

Sunday, 10/21
BF--cereal with light vanilla soymilk, yogurt, coffee with sugar free flavored creamer
S--yogurt
L--veggie burger with cheese on ww bun, baked chips, sf jello pudding
S--100 calorie pack
S--4 snackwell cookies
D--turkey italian sausage, ww couscous, asparagus

WW--28 pts
