Hey everyone. I just want to throw this out there. I am here and I plan on being here even though my number's do not count. That being said, if anyone else drops out or whatever, I'll happily take the spot so I can "offically" be back in.

By the way, here's what I put on my Christmas List. hehe

Oh Diva you bite your tongue talking about Christmas already! LOL!

So I'm watching Top Chef (anyone else catch it?) and I'm looking at all these dishes that they cook wondering if I'd ever eat it. Which got me to thinking that I bet there are ALOT of foods out there that I've never tried and I bet some of them I'd like.

So, in our RED WINS challenge we did where you had to try something new, did anyone try some new foods? Anyone have any crazy weird newage foods?

My girls love Grapples...they are like an apple but taste like a grape. WAY too sweet for me but they smell incredible! I'm just curious if anyone has any fun different foods they'd like to share.

Like - So glad your foot is doing better!

Would it break the tension if i passed out party hats? :)

Idealmuse 10-03-2007 11:30 PM

Or maybe a photo?

We took off the faucet on the tub today because the refinishing guy is going to be back on Friday and as my husband was working on one side of the wall Zim was checking things out on the other through the overflow drain.

Hun.e.B 10-03-2007 11:45 PM

I was looking for my favorite fall picture to share and came across my before pics (no I'm not sharing yet! LOL) but I realized they were from September LAST year!!! My goodness did I waste alot of time! Okay so here is my favorite picture, it is the tree that is out my back patio. Gotta love fall!

What motivates me-my mother. She has been overweight since I can remember and now shes is sick all the time, she has more bad days than good. She was about my age when she had a stroke and things have gone down hill from there. I hate taking pills and being sick. I know I have the will power and determination to do this. I just think of her everytime I ask myself is this worth it. The answer is YES!

I'd like to say lets get over the drama and focus on a RED TEAM WIN!

Melissa- I love the trees in the fall, they are so beautiful. I've had grapples their pretty good. I've also had pluots, which are a cross between an plum and an apricot...not bad. Since joining i've tried lots of new stuff, nothing too off the wall though.

Muse- what a pretty kitty and thanks I'll take a hat:woo:I'm always up for a party.

Bridgette.

Just wanted to check in fast- I will answer the questions tomorrow when I have more time.
This week is flying by and I've barely had time to breathe. I'm having a decent week though- just wish I had a little more time for exercise (time that isn't 5:00 am, that is! LOL)
Hope you are all having an excellent week!!

just get it done 10-04-2007 12:57 AM

Hi everyone

I feel so selfish for not coming on here as much as I should . I've been so stressed out and when i'm stressed I eat. After eatting I feel so guilty. It's a vicious cycle.

From the bottom of my heart I appreciate all the comforting comments left for me. Thank you Gals so much. You'll never know how much I appreciate you !

Anyways my husband got onto me today and it seems to have helped me. I have actually done fairly decent today. I got a lot of things done that I've been putting off. Organized things and it actually has made me feel better.
I feel as though I'm getting back on track.

I've come to the conclusion that life would be so much better if our kids just stayed babies. Why do they have to grow up and leave us? lol
My oldest son just married five months ago and my youngest started college.
I'm going thru the empty nest syndrome and its killing me. Sometimes it feels great to have the time to do only for yourself and other times I could swear that I hear my youngest son saying "mom" . Or I'll pick up something of theirs and Then I start the sobbing! I have to leave their bedroom doors closed because I can't stand to go in there and their gone. When I lay down to go to sleep of a nite I get this knot in my stomach because I don't know where they're at. How stupid is that! Who does that? I guess in time it will get easier.

Well enough of my stinkin thinkin. I just wanted to explain so maybe you'll understand but I'm going to get on track and stay there. I promise.

Hun.e.B 10-04-2007 09:50 AM

Is this food worth missing out on my life. I finally came to understand that no it wasn't.

Good afternoon ladies!! You'll be so proud of me! This morning I didnt ride my bike because I thought I was running too late. Turns out I should have! Anyway, so I drove to the park and ride lot and missed the bus by 2 minutes. So instead of sitting there waiting for the bus I walked to campus!! Took me 20 minutes!

Stupid AF! I saw someone eating a snickers bar today and OMG...I think I literally drooled LOL! didnt have any but it sure did look tasty! I need to get some groceries but I dont want to go to the store because the cravings are so bad! I just gotta keep telling myself...tomorrow is weigh in!

Idealmuse 10-04-2007 05:49 PM

Hi Girls -

My triceps near my elbow have been freaky sore the last few days since I did the Ripped 1000 DVD. It's not that surprising since I haven't weight trained as much this year... but what a WEIRD and annoying place to be sore.

Shay 10-04-2007 07:25 PM

I had a nice long post last night. I lost it and just gave up on posting. So lets try this again.

AmberD, SugarNSpice, Melissa, IdealMuse--My foot is doing fantastic. Thanks for asking. I definitely feel I will be ready to run in November.

IdealMuse--Your cat is precious.

Melissa--I love that picture of the trees. I always feel like I wake up one day and all the leaves have turned. I am really working on paying attention this year. I want to see the progression. My butterfly tattoo is on the top of my right foot. I was originally supposed to get it above my belly button when I lost all of my weight and got a flat stomach. I got tired of waiting. I still may get that butterfly above my belly button when I get down to my goal. Talking about goals...

I was checking my BMI last night and of course I've known for a long time now that I am morbidly obese. Anyways I figured out if I get to 148 I am considered "overweight". At 123 I am considered "normal". So 148 will be my mid term goal but I haven't determined if 123 will be my long term goal. As I get closer (because I will get there) I can make that decision.

My motivation....to be honest---I'm tired of being fat!

Oh yeah--TOM is here so I'm taking a freebie. I will go post that now.

AmberD 10-04-2007 08:06 PM

Hey ladies,

707Goddess I'm really glad you're doing so well in spite of everything you and your family are going through.

I'm have had the serious munchies ALL day. I was about to list them all, but I don't want to trigger any binges. But it's a long list. I tried to make healthy choices, but I've eaten a lot of QUANTITY and still want more. Tomorrow is weigh in and I don't have high hopes :(

But I've been running and cutting back on the sweets, so we'll see.

AmberD 10-04-2007 08:06 PM

Likenoother where in VA are you? I'm in NOVA.

LawMomVeronica 10-04-2007 10:17 PM

Hey Red Team! I had a pretty good day today, went to a conference where they had a ton of danishs and bagels and things out all morning and didn't eat a one! Just stuck to my string cheese and waited for lunch (reasonably healthy thai food). I don't know if I'll get any exercise in, I think I'm going to go to bed because I was up so super early.

I had a non-scale victory today when I realized I can climb up the steep staircase at my office without huffing and being totally out of breath for a while like I used to. So even though the scale is barely moving, I feel better. Does anyone else have a non-scale victory to share?

just get it done 10-04-2007 10:57 PM

Hi Gals
LawMomVeronica Awesome :carrot: Your doing so good! :bravo:

AmberD :bravo: on all that running!

likenoother I'm glad your foot is doing better :)

Idealmuse Great job on those triceps ! Your picture isn't showing up on my computer for some reason.

Hun e. b. Great job on the walking :) Funny about the snickers because that was my temptation today . It was the snickers icecream bars but I walked away and left them at the store. :D Your fall picture isn't showing for me :(

707Goddess Great job :carrot:

I've done good on eatting today . I haven't done any exercise as of yet today but I'm thinking of doing some when I get off of here. I did walk around shopping a lot today and that has to count for something. I always park far away from the store so I can get in extra exercise. I'm off of here! Good nite Ladies.

just get it done 10-04-2007 11:07 PM

I heard this song on the radio this evening and can't get it out of my mind. lol Does anyone else here remember this ? It is a Glen Campbell song. I don't remember the year.

If you see your brother standing by the road
With a heavy load from the seeds he's sowed
And if you see your sister falling by the way
Just stop and stay you're going the wrong way

You got to try a little kindness
Yes show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets

Don't walk around the down and out
Lend a helping hand instead of doubt
And the kindness that you show every day
Will help someone along their way

You got to try a little kindness
Yes show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets

You got to try a little kindness
Yes show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you'll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets

Week 4 Survey:

1.What is your trigger food?(the one you really struggle to say no to like Bob and his cupcakes last night on the show?) sweets and fries

2. What is your favorite healthy snack? Yogurt, fruits (mango, pineapples, and grapes)

3. Which would you rather have...a new pair of shoes or a new piece of jewelery? Shoes, i don't wear much jewlry

4. What kind of purse do you carry...small but efficient or large and prepared? Usually a small but efficient one. I'm not much of a big purse gal.

5. Do you collect anything? I like to collect DVDs, esp. television series dvds.

6. Do you plan on treating yourself to something besides a new wardrobe when you reach your goal? What is it? As of right now, I can't really think of much. My reward will be getting into these designer jeans I got, that don't quite fit right now.

7. What was the last goal that you went for and acheived? I can't really think of a particular goal, but I have been maintaining and stayed under 150 for over a month. This has been an achievment for me because I was always 150 and now I'm getting close to getting under 140.

8. Would you rather be outdoors or indoors? Both are good, but overall I like the outdoors. I like to go snowboarding, jogging, etc. The only time I don't like being outside is when there is a heat wave or massive humidity.

9. Have you started decorating for Halloween yet? Nope.

10. What about yourself are you most proud of? Currently I am proud to be training for my first half-marathon (which is next week!).

dream710 10-05-2007 07:46 AM

TGIF! I'm soooo tired this week. I've been having trouble getting up to exercise. I'm surprised my dh hasn't kicked me out of bed with as many times that I've pushed snooze this week. I did get out of bed after only pushing the button three times this morning :carrot:. I got a good workout with Gilad this morning and am hoping to get a run in tonight, and maybe some pilates. I love the nights my dh works late (i know it sounds bad) cuz my daughter is over at grandmas and grandpas so I can get some extra exercising done. Anyways, todays gonna be a busy day, which is good it'll make the day go by faster so I can enjoy the weekend. Normally we are rushing around on the weekend, hopefully this weekend will be different.

Shygrly-WOW! a half marathon thats what 13 miles? I'd love to be able to run 13 miles. I'm working my up maybe some day I'll make it there.

justgetitdone: Shopping, my favorite form of exercise. :D Great job on your eating. It seems like that has been my major problem as of late. I can either eat good or exercise but I can't do both together.

Lawmom-great job on avoiding the sweets. Way to go on the NSV, it shows signs of a healthier you.

AmberD-Good job on the running and cutting out the sweets.

Melissa- oh the dreaded grocery store. I have to go there this weekend. I wish I could just hire someone to take my list and go buy the stuff.. I think I'd save lots of money that way.

Michelle-Great to see you posting again. I've been wondering how you've been.

Kelli-I have a collection of girls clothes as well. I always say a girl can never have too many clothes, no matter what age.

I better go, I was planning on being out of the shower by now!
Everyone have a great day.

Bridgette.

Down 2 lbs this morning!!! Yay!! Its not as low as I was on monday but with AF being here all week I'll take it!!!

Sugar-N-Spice 10-05-2007 12:35 PM

Well, I had a big huge long post written out and then my computer went wonky and *poof* it disappeared!:mad:

Mel, congrat's on those 2 pounds lady!!! :dancer: :flow2:

Ladies, have a brilliant day. Gotta boogie, my tub guy is finally here. I'll try and get back to do personals again if my 'puter will cooperate!

Be good!~

Shay 10-05-2007 01:14 PM

AmberD--Arlington
justgetitdone--Thanks
Melissa--Congrats on the loss! Everyone's body is different but I never in my life have been able to post a loss during TOM. AF is the same as TOM right?

I'm noticing there are other runners on our team so I may be hitting you up for advice. I purchased my sportsbra last night. I have about 10 other sportsbras that are perfect for everything else but I wanted a special sportsbra for running. I bought Moving Comfort's "Fiona Bra". It just looks more comfortable than the Enell. I only ordered one and if I like it I will order probaby two more. I got it in black. I want a pink and a white one too.

I went to a baby shower yesterday and I did well. There were healthy options there so I was good to go. I am looking forward to this holiday weekend.

LawMomVeronica 10-05-2007 09:41 PM

Hey Ladies! Down another pound this week, I'll take that! No time to say anything else, I gotta go get my *** kicked around my living room by Jillian. Hope everyone is having a good friday!

I am down a pound for the first in this entire challenge. That's for a grand total loss of 0. But I'll take a loss of 0 over a gain any day, in any case I'm back on track

Hun.e.B 10-06-2007 11:03 AM

WOW Ladies!! Excellent job on those losses!! Its so encouraging to see the successes going on here!

I was a NAUGHTY girl yesterday. Dont even ask me why cuz I dunno. I just threw caution to the wind and ate whatever. I didnt eat alot , by no means did I overeat but dark chocolate covered raisins and breads are NOT in my plan! Back on track today though! I've got a whole week to work off the damages.

My goal for today...get my house clean for the first time in weeks! then a lil homework!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

mariposita 10-06-2007 01:02 PM

Good morning Red Team!

I am so happy it is the weekend and I have good :coffee2: this morning! And everyone else is still asleep. Well, except for the dogs. What a busy week we had here, but today I only have to do some errands in the morning and take my older daughter to art class this afternoon. I'm going to go grocery shopping while she's there and get that over with. Tomorrow is a housework/laundry marathon for us.

I just read through the recent posts -- congratulations to everyone who's posted a loss :goodscale: this week! Yay :woohoo:to everyone who's sticking with their eating plans and working out and seeing the results of our hard work, including those NSV results. I think the scale's staying the same this week for me, but I'll see tomorrow morning. I'll be happy with that, as I feel like I'm shrinking a bit and just seem to have more stamina. I had a date with Leslie this morning and noticed that I can lift my knees up in front (btw, I absolutely hate :tantrum: those knee lifts) a lot higher than I used to be able to.

Have a great day everyone and wish me luck finding some good oranges at the store today. I'm really craving them lately and they've looked pretty icky.

mariposita 10-06-2007 01:13 PM

Week 4 Survey:

1.What is your trigger food?(the one you really struggle to say no to like Bob and his cupcakes last night on the show?) Carbs. I used to think it was just things like french bread, cookies and candies, but now I'm realizing that sometimes other things will set me off too, it just depends on how I'm feeling. Like dry cold cereal or crackers, even the healthy kinds.

2. What is your favorite healthy snack? crispbread and laughing cow wedges with bell peppers on top.

3. Which would you rather have...a new pair of shoes or a new piece of jewelery? Jewelry.

4. What kind of purse do you carry...small but efficient or large and prepared? Small.

5. Do you collect anything? Nope.

6. Do you plan on treating yourself to something besides a new wardrobe when you reach your goal? What is it? Nothing right now.

7. What was the last goal that you went for and acheived? Persistently calling this one guy about part of my internship, even though it felt really uncomfortable because he didn't call back. He finally called back and was really happy to have me start on it last week!

8. Would you rather be outdoors or indoors? Outdoors so long as it is not humid.

9. Have you started decorating for Halloween yet? Er, no. My kids do those things for me nowadays. Thank goodness.

10. What about yourself are you most proud of? Being creative and adaptable when things go wrong.

Hun.e.B 10-07-2007 12:07 PM

Good Sunday Morning Red team!!!! I hope all is well with our team! Been terribly quiet!

Veronica....Way to go on another loss!!! I hope Jillian was too too hard on you! LOL!! Gotta love to hate that woman right? LOL!!

Bridgette...how's everything going? Find some of that energy yet? Sounds like you are still kicking butt on the exercise though!! Way to go!

Hello all

What a great week. I have had wonderful energy and a good outlook. Congratulations to all on all the losses. I did end up going out to dinner last night and splurging, not necessarly huge portions, but the food was rich in flavor. Well after all the vegetables and whole foods I have been eating,my boday did not take well to the dinner. I guess it was a blessing in disguise I do not want any more pasta in the near future. I guess there is the occasionally an upside to splurging. Everyone have a great week.

Robot 10-07-2007 03:50 PM

Hi everyone. I decided to take time off of cleaning. I've been doing pretty bad with my diet the past few days. That proves that when I'm not on this forum reading and getting support, I tend to fall off the wagon. I'm glad I did a freebie week because I gained a bit of weight. Not a lot, but enough to get me a little upset.

Anyway, congrats on everyone's losses for the week. You ladies are kicking butt.

dream710 10-07-2007 03:52 PM

Happy Sunday everyone! I done excellent on exercising this weekend. I've had a lot of things on my mind this weekend, and I've used exercise as an escape from that. Let me tell ya, I'm sore all over. People were probably wondering what was wrong with me at church this morning, I was having a bit of trouble with all the stand up sit down business. After church I went and spent a little me time. I tanned and then I went shopping... I'm in need of some new jeans. My old ones are loose but comfortable, the only thing I hate about them is having a saggy butt. I bought 2 pair of low rise levi's, they are slim fit so they are a little tight in the thighs, but hopefully they'll be perfect soon (my butt looked so good in them I couldn't pass them up.) I did try a bigger size, but the butt didn't look as good. I also purchased this knee length denim skirt, something I don't wear very often. Oh, how I love shopping :D.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend

Bridgette.

mikelli 10-07-2007 07:36 PM

congratulations to all the losers!! :congrat:

It has been a good week for me. I am steadly losing. Althought it is not a lot it is making a noticeable difference. My dh's grandma commented on me looking much slimmer and she is usually tough on me. So I must be doing something right.

Keep up the good work every one.

Hun.e.B 10-07-2007 11:21 PM

Good evening red team!! Well, its been a day I tell ya! LOL! Didnt get half the homework done that I wanted to, but I managed to get all the laundry done! The bronco game was so horrible and embarassing today i couldnt even bring myself to finish watching it. I had a movie to return so I went and hopped on my bike and rode to return it! Then I came home and cleaned up the neighbors dog poop...GRRR!

anyone else catch this new show on CMT called I wanna look like a highschool cheerleader again? LOL...I could totally do that show! I used to be a cheerleader in highschool but you couldnt tell by looking! anyway, kinda fun in a biggest loser kind of way. The person with the lowest weightloss % is voted off each week.

Alright...time to get things ready for bed around here! Thought I'd pop in and see who has gotten their weighin posted. Have a wonderful Monday everyone!!

~melissa

dream710 10-07-2007 11:30 PM

Those dang Broncs, I had ten bucks on em. I was so sure they'd win since the Chargers haven't been doing the greatest. Goes to show how much I know. They'll get em next time. My team (Lions) lost too. I'm just happy that so far they've had a great start to the year (well at least better than the last few years).
