Lots of fruits and veggies today. I had a tomato sandwich for breakfast with a plum, hamburger and rice with watermelon for lunch, cherries for a snack and a huge salad with lettuce and tons of veggies for dinner. Exercise was a 60 minute step class at the Y.

Wowz, just a flyby as some folks will be walkin' by from the neighborhood that I will join.

Thanks, Terapet. Lol, I am used to being outside in the heat so 100 wasn't too bad.

That day with the cinnamon rolls did end with 1640 as I ate nothing else after I posted. Yesterday was nice at 1420, did a 90 minute walk and a 30 min run/walk, will do less today as working tonight.

Everyone is doing just great. Would post more but I still seem to be verra sleepy. Woot!

Great calories maryea!

We had a small dinner party with our adult kids so calories were probably a bit high today and no exercise. It was great fun though.

A2-Good for you for getting out and walking with the neighbors.

Thanks, Terapet.

Meeting tonight didn't happen but that was not found out until I was there so got out and had a nice drive. Felt ill all day but better now.

Ended eating day at 1510, still could add a snack.

1488 calories and 12 carb serv. My A1C is now 7.2. Not bad but it is rising ...last time it was 6.8,...so I definitely need to watch it. Hopefully I can get through the rest of the evening without eating any more carbs. If I get hungry, guess I'll munch of celery..

Terapet - I never thought of handling restaurant dinners that way! I am thankful for all the tips you guys give me as I am determined to do this esp for my health.

Maezy - Welcome!

Today did a "virtual" 5k for an event I registered for on another site. You do the race within the week scheduled and post your time. It is fun. However, I weirdly did it for some reason a day ahead and will do again tomorrow for the "race." I am a slow walker and runner so the time was slow but it was a lot of fun and I listened to the Olympics Opening Ceremonies album that I downloaded.

Calories, don't know, haven't had dinner, but it will be below 1600.

Tomorrow is my weigh-in. We'll see.

1387 calories and 11.5 carb serv. Had to finish the carbs early tonight again so I hope I can get through the evening with out my precious carbs. Silly me, I know I can do it. My bs was high in the morning but good since then. My next strategy is to space out my carbs a bit better so I can always have one in the evening as I am suppose to. I'd like two in the evening really but not sure I can handle that. So I'm still experimenting. I think I may ask my doctor for an order for more strips as right now Medicare is only allowing me one a day and in order to learn all this I am using more.

I followed Rie's suggestion and set my phone timer for taking my meds. It worked well.

You are doing great, Maryea! Woot! Good idea about asking for more strips.

I am ending eating day at 1455. Not feeling too well right now. Heat is bothering me and my dog has something wrong with her leg, which is probably nothing. Taking her to vet tomorrow.

Lol, not sure what that has to do with diet or eating. It is all related lol.

I DID lose another .8. This has been a continuous small loss every week for six weeks and I am really fitting into clothes I haven't for awhile.

Not sure why I am so irritable. Probably the not really great pizza I made, my first homemade one since childhood. It was low fat and whole wheat. Didn't move me but it looks pretty.

Woot! Have a great night everyone!

I lost 1.8 lbs this week but of course it is the same old pounds I've been recycling for a while now. Calories were a little higher today because of eating out but I still feel I did pretty well because of some NSV and also my carb servings were only 12.

We not only ate out today but we were babysitting. Usually when we babysit I eat way over and with eating out too I'm amazed I did so well. Plus I really tried hard to be careful about my carb serv. I had almost 3 carbs for breakfast..no snack as in church..at lunch I had a subway sandwich (6 inch) and shared a bag of cheetos with dh. I knew I shouldn't eat the whole half but I decided to do it anyway just to see if I could handle 4 carb serv. when I don't have a morning snack. Two hours later my test showed, no I cannot. So I did not eat an afternoon snack..that alone is a NSV since I was giving the kids things all the time and normally would have not been able to resist. I got very hungry...almost caved for a graham cracker and milk...LOL but I resisted. Before dinner my bs was great!! Not just diabetic normal but NORMAL normal!! I had almost 3 carb serv for dinner. Could easily have eaten more but I realized I was full enough. Then tonight I had a couple snacks but I was very careful to be sure I didn't go over for the day. It is possible two snacks is too much in the evening but I'm not sure...am bs are tricky for more than one reason and I'm still experimenting. But it is such a great feeling to be able to discipline myself. I had prayed about today as I knew it would be a real test both because I have not been feeling so well and because of my eating. But I felt much much better and had plenty energy today...maybe the new med kicked in...until about 6 pm (after the kids had gone) when I began to feel sick again. It is possible I need to take two pills a day. I will be calling the doctor on Wed to report how it's going and he will tell me then.

Just reread my post from last night...I must have been sleepy because I forgot to tell you my calories. They were 1624. I actually dropped a few ounces so it worked out ok. Trying to practice what I've been learning today and so far I've done well. I'll be back to night to let you know how I did.

A good day. Worked out and almost back to regular routine.
1408 calories, 12 carb servings.
Blood sugars good except for first one of the day. Had only one carb serv tonight so will see if that helps.

Maryea, great going on the scale and NSVs and doing so well on the bs and carb monitoring as well as calories.

I ended the eating day hours ago at 1570. Have been sleeping all afternoon except for a little work in the yard. Has been a challenging day. Exercise was a 30 minute walk.

1392 calories and 12.5 carb serv. A pretty good day but I was hoping to keep at 12 or below...well, I was close to perfect. The only thing I am really struggling with now is to keep my fat to 45 g. Even though it is most the healthier fat it is not good for my diabetes nor my arteries. Well, one thing at a time...

You're still doing well Amarantha2.

Where are Marie and the others? Seems like it's just the two of us these days.
