I just love you guys! So nice to come here and have so many people your age embrace you! I thought I would be too tired to get online in the hospital, but I feel great. They have removed most of my add-ons. I try to stay sitting up all day so I will sleep at night. The only bad this is dh leave around 7 but my roomie's visitors stay till closing and beyond, so I feel uncomfortable having them seeing me lying here with my mouth open snoring away! LOL And how many times will I pull the hospital gown up too high in my sleep! DH was anxious to see how the laptop worked since we just recently got it working on WiFi. He brings it in for a few hours in the afternoon and then takes it back home. Just long enough to answer a few e-mails and check out GG. It sounds like everyone is busy getting ready for the holiday. That's good. I can't wait to go home and wear some normal clothes! LOL I was just sitting here thinking about what I will wear for Christmas.

Oh Carol Sue, sounds like you are ready to go home. So glad things are going well. And, ya, don't we all just love those gowns!

Rie, the therapy is actually really nice, that part of it anyway. The corn cobs are ground up like saw dust and heated (very warm), then they swirl around inside this chamber that you put your hand in. You bury your hand in it and are suppose to move your thumb as best you can, and it really loosens up the joint. They use it for elbows as well. Pretty clever. Then comes the part were you have to gently work on the scar by rubbing, that puts me through the roof, but I am getting better at it. I plan on really working on this at home, so I don't have to continue to go for 2 times a week for 8 weeks. It will be fine, I don't have much of a scar, but I guess there is alot of scar tissue that is preventing me from free movement, so I have to move it around to get rid of it.

Chickadee, like Freda, I am intrigued with the corn cob therapy. Please tell us more. My (somewhat dotty but lovable) autie decided a few years ago that she would be thrifty and use some of the whole dried corn for the "rice bags" that she was making for christmas gifts. Have you ever put dried corn in the microwave? BOOOOOM! It was so funny.... We never told her, the dear lady.

Carol Sue, glad your surgery is behind you and you sound like you are anxious to get home. So happy that things went well for you.

Bobbi, don't worry so much about it right now. Enjoy this Holiday Season and know that you have a whole year to take off the few extras that you have gained. Life it too short to worry that much!!

We're still hanging in there waiting to hear whether these people get their financing or not to buy our house. They have until next Wednesday for that. If that goes through then they have until the 28th to get the inspeciton done if they want it. We are planning on saving ourselves a couple hundred dollars and Tim will do our own inspection of the house we are buying. He's pretty smart and has everything needed to do it himself. Realy don't think we will find much to do with the new house anyway. We are hoping to do that this weekend. Once everything gets done and approved we will be busy getting everything packed and arrange for movers to come. Keep your fingers crossed.

Everyone have a good night.

Hello goldens!

Sorry I haven’t been here. The knee shot aftermath was pretty bad. I went back to work today to deal with a very bad situation. Short version: allegations have been made against two of my employees. I believe it is probably true. It makes me want to puke and I am so sad about it. I spent the day with lawyers and such, and trying to calm my staff without telling them anything. It sucked. I have to spend the next couple days with an investigator, and I probably won’t be around much until this is over.

Kenny was just here and I think he was really disappointed that I can’t go to the river tomorrow. We will go now in January. I am letting them take my truck, though, because it would have really hurt me if I had to cancel the trip for everyone….

I have to say that it is so nice to come here and see posts from you guys, though. It cheers me up

Carol, I am so glad to hear that you are recovering and doing well. LOL on hospital gowns. The age of laptops is a wonder….

Karen31, fingers and toes crossed here for your house deal. So nice that Tim can do all the inspection stuff.

Misti, have I told you that I love your avatar? It makes me smile every time I see it.

Chickadee, all the work and discomfort will be worth it. The last thing you want is to be left with a thumb that is less than functional, especially with your love of needlework.

Hey Donna! So what do you and GM do for your “little Christmas?”

Karenfl, LOL, I first read your post as “girls cleaning” and I thought WOW, that is real talent. And, am I to understand that vacuuming involves moving things around??? I often forget that..

Zoe, I totally understand how you feel about your sister and money… And I cannot believe that it is this close to Christmas. Time does fly…

Bobbi, I understand your frustration with your weight. However, I look at your ticker and I would so love to be that weight – or even close to it. I am part of the holiday challenge and I have loved it. Maybe we can all have a challenge thread after the new year. Just menus, goals, etc. and keep the chatting here on this thread.

Lynn, glad that you are feeling better. Enjoy the dinner. What a great occasion!

Marie, TOM wardrobe malfunctions (shudder). I was wondering…. What do your doggies get for Christmas? I know that they have been really good this year?

Mary, our family never had more than one bathroom my whole life. I only have one now. My friends have talked about how things work when they have more than one. If I did, I would like to have a “powder room” that was only for company so it would stay really clean…. With our well water, the bathroom is always a mess. Good luck on the car shopping. Remember, always focus on the overall value – not the monthly payment..

Connie, what a sweet dgd story! I love decorating the tree with little ones.

Rosey, how are you? I still don’t have any good snow here..

My Mom, ds and dgs made noodles today. My ds is giving them for Christmas presents because money is really short for him. I will post some pics. Famly traditions are great!

Have a great finish to the week!

Good morning GG's,

Two days down ~ one to go. Yippee ~ love days off.

I think I will be helping Sara wrap Christmas gifts sometime over the weekend. She doesn't particularly enjoy wrapping ~ I love to wrap, so say ~ bring 'em on.

Saturday evening I am hoping the weather is nice. They have Christmas Carolers at the Waterway. The Waterway is a neat place. There is a sort of a canal type thing with sidewalks on either side. Trees along the way with twinkle lights on them. Benches along the way for sitting if you want to. At the one end there is a fountain and waterfall things. They have colored lights and the fountain does kind of a display/water show and plays music along with it.

Gotta go get ready for work. Hope you all have a nice day.

Take care

Good Morning, Val...my ticker isn't correct.

I jumped on the scale a couple days ago and I was at 132. (I will change it). I see Lynn has a challenge going, we could join that one or start a new years.....whatever anyone else wants to do. I like doing our menus, we did that before. It's interesting to see what everyone else is eating. I always benefit when I post my calories/fiber. I'm not going to think about it until Christmas is over and I've shipped off all the goodies stocked in the freezer for our Christmas party.
Marie...love your hummingbird sun catchers.
Zoe...sorry you had a unhappy relationship with your mom, seems like we all have someone in the family that irritates us. In my case, it was my dad who was always on my case and my sister could do no wrong. (Even tho she ended up in a correctional institute when she was 15)
Carol Sue...we're all thinking of you, hope we can welcome you home soon.

Donna...about Zoe,me too. I'd share the inheritance. Luckily my dad changed his tune after the 'loved one' was sent to reform school until she was 18. (15-18)
Hi everyone else, don't have time to respond to everyone. My yogurt milk is at the right temperature and I have to pour it into the yogurt containers and set it.

Good morning all...Last week on ebay I bought for me a Oreck/Little Hero vaccum. Came and is so cute. Like a oval tub on wheels with a long handle to reach edges. Sucked 10 years worth of German Wire Hair out the baseboard. I have tried everything known to man to achieve this and my Little Hero is my Big Hero. Basically a dust buster with an attitude! My new ladies arrived early and did a bang up job...sighhhh

Dash has new buddy. People are renting the house across the canal and have a Springer. The 2 dogs sit on their seawalls and chat. Dash is singing witha cookie in his mouth. Too funny.

The antibiotic is leaving me stupid, tired and nausated. Just realized that I'll be on it thru entire holiday season. Well I really did want to get rid of this year. So looking forward to a New Year. Finally taped the box to NC shut...kept addng dumb things....that's the black Lil Doc bag for DD. Even added ducktape cause you can fix anything with ducktape. Drew a line on crazy glue.

Drove to Inverness yesterday afternoon to get the GC at Out Backs only to find out they don't open until 5pm. Back again today.

Be back later with personals....k3

Carol Sue, you didn't mention whether the surgery was a success. But... based on you upbeat post, I'm guessing so. I'll be happy when you're home.

KarenMO, fingers are crossed and I hope the couple gets that bank loan asap.

Rie, sometimes being in charge sucks. The puppies gets their fave CheckUp treats from Costco and each gets two doggie toys. And then there's the turkey on Christmas day. Did I mention the Thanksgiving turkey story from two years ago? If yes, skip ahead. Sasha (she was two at the time) had just adopted our family and had been with us about 6 weeks. She'd escaped from a puppy mill and was wandering the forests for 2 months, surviving on whatever she could find. Long story short, she was captured and Adopt a Husky rescued her and I adopted her. So then Thanksgiving rolls around. Turkey smells everywhere. Well, Miss Sasha figures out how to open the oven and stole the turkey (after meal, before clean up). Smartie paws. No turkey leftovers that year. BTW, we now lock the oven door...

Gayle, I hope the weather is nice for your Carolers. That sounds like a lot of fun.

Bobbi, I had to giggle that your ne'er do wrong sister was the one that ended up behind "bars".

KarenFL, just make sure Dash understands to stay on his side of the canal, that his buddy isn't worth swimming across. Those gators aren't friendly.

Blizzie is out of surgery and howling at the staff. Heather, the vet tech, said she's making her displeasure at being incarcerated well known. I'll be rescuing her in a little over an hour. Heather said she did great through the surgery and is fine. A big relief. I had a terrible time leaving her this morning. She's elderly and I will never, ever be ready to say goodbye to her. She's my soul dog. So now I'm doing the happy dance that she's on the road to recovery and it is FRIDAY!!!!

We had our district office Christmas party and it was nice. Too much food but I did try small portions. Regardless, my calories will be out the window if I have dinner. Since tummy is stuffed I think DH is on his own. A late afternoon mocha and call it good is my thought. Then I'd be in my calorie range. I'm ok if I go over though. The other thing about the party was how small the staff is now. Everyone (newspaper/public) complains that education has too many administrators and such. When I started a decade ago, there were at least twice as many people. Now we're a small little group stressed to the seams. It was interesting and I wanted to take a picture for the newspaper so they'd get the story right.

Hi everybody. Friday night... yay!!!

Carol Sue, so glad your surgery is over with. Please keep us posted with your progress as you are able.

Rie, thanks for comments on the avatar. I created it a long time ago and fortunately still had it in my computer. There is a story behind it, kind of. When I was looking for a cybername (Misti is not my real name) a friend who knows how much I love the rain said "it's gotta be Misti" -- so I became Misti in Seattle.

Happy weekend everyone.

Good evening GG's,

Yea ~ the weekend off. I was gonna go over to Sara's tonight and help her wrap stuff, but she decided to wait until tomorrow evening. That was ok by me ~ I'm kind of tired anyway. Think I will head to bed early.

Hope you all have a nice evening.'

Take care
