Haven’t been on here much ~ either couldn’t get on, or got on but it locked up my computer.
Three days down ~ two to go. I got out just in time the last couple nights.
Had our Christmas party at work today. Ate something that disagreed with me ~ stomach didn’t feel very good tonight ~ thank goodness for Pepto Bismol ~ that fixed me up.
Power went off last night right before bedtime, so didn’t rest very well the first part of the night.
Sorry for all this boring stuff. Not much to tell. Just checking in on my GG’s. Hope all is well for you all.
Gayle...I haven't been able to use this site much...when trying to read the post, I get an hour glass, can't scroll and it keeps jumping? Anyone else having these problems? It's been for the last 2 or 3 days.
I am getting the error messages and the freeze ups, also. On the site, it says that it "only happens with IE" OK, I know that their are other programs out there but I don't understand why they can't fix the site..... Grr.
I promise to check in later when I am in a better mood. LOL
Freda, my thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. Terminal illness nearing the end at the holidays is just plain hard.
Mary, I hope your back is feeling better and that with some of the money stress reducing you can get back to MF since it worked so well for you.
Gayle, hope your stomach is recovered and it seems like many of us have had computer woes with 3FC. At work, I have so many computers on my desk, if one crashes I just go to the next. Hence my daily posting...
Hi Misti!
Bobbi, I've noticed the not scrolling and jumping everywhere in Chrome. I've been using Firefox for 3FC and Chrome for everything else. I hate IE.
Rie, smile and download Firefox.
I'm so glad my 10 straight days off from work commences tomorrow at 3:00. I am so in my not wanting to work mode, it is scary. I should just take tomorrow of as well. I'm glad I'm efficient when I'm in the working mode or I'd be in deep poop.
DD decided to take tomorrow off and is driving up from Reno this evening. She and DH are going to rebuild her Mini's manual transmission the next couple days. Long story about stupid car warranties... So why they work dilligently in the garage, I'll be in front of my heater at work or in front of my fireplace at home.
Dear Kai Pixie had a seizure at 3:30 this morning. She was literally biting her tongue off. It was turning a grayish blue and DH finally pried her jaws apart. She recovered and I took them all for a walk at 4:15 this morning. It was NINE degrees out. BRRRRRRRRR!!!! I think after my hair cut appt this afternoon, I'm going home to nap and snuggle with my Kai love doggie. She was so scared and clingy for about 2 hours. And I bet her tongue hurts and she has no idea why. DH being on swing shift is good because she'll be able to cling to him when he gets up. Poor puppy. That's about it in my world. I hope they fix 3FC soon since it's so quiet here.

I have had a little trouble getting in but nothing major. I am down 13 pounds, 10 gained from surgery and 3 additional from loss of appetite. I would not recommend this form of weight loss, but I'll take every pound. I feel that I worked for it. LOL I am hoping to get to the 170's by the first of the year, and to be able to maintain it after I recover. I can't remember when I last was in the 170's but I know it's been more than 10 years. There are so many clothes I'm anxious to wear once my belly heels.
I have a visiting nurse coming every day to change the dressing. I do appreciate it as I don't know how good of a job DH would do. But I'm not crazy about having someone come here every day. I feel as though I have to have the house clean and everything looking it's best and a lot of times I just want to vegetate and not have to do anything.
We decided not to put up the Christmas tree. It would make things look a little more festive, but then we would have to take it down again after the holidays and I can't be sure how I'll feel like doing that. This is the first time in 34 years that we haven't had a tree up. I can celebrate the birth of Christ in my heart without a Christmas tree, but some people feel that if you don't decorate you're a scrooge.
I found another cookie recipe I want to try so I'm doing one more cookie. It's a butter cookie with crushed candy canes in it. They look festive...I hope they turn out as good as they look in the picture.
Good Morning everyone! I've had some problems with 3FC too. But I don't think it is just IE causing it. I've heard reportsfrom others using firefox with a mac that are having the same problem!! I think they do need to figure it out though cause it drives me crazy!
Things are hectic around here but I wanted to get on for a few minutes. They are coming to do the home inspection on our house today which is the last step they need to do before we have the closing next month. We need to be gone for them to do that so we are going to go and pickup some boxes and a few other things while we are out.
CarolSue--- I decided to not put up our regular tree this year since we are going to be packing and getting ready to move-- so I just went to Walmart an picked up a small 32" fiber optic tree to use this year. It was only $13 and I know I will be able to use it more even after this year. Just thought that I would mention it if you would like a tree! I think it is cute!
Hi every one. its been busy for us. we got aphone call and was offered a 1/4 of a moose. my dh becuz hes diabled is on alist for moose hit by cars. they give the meat away so its not wasted. so yesterday we where butchering. im greatful for the moose but not to excited about the work involved. we got the front 1/4 and ribs. it all in the freezer. my dh cut up the bones and i roasted them and my dogs are happy chewing on their moose treats. we are going to spend the afternoon with my mil and bring her her gifts and then headed to my dd's in the morning. I have had similar trouble with this site and a dumb popup. hope they can fix it. my wgt stays the same and im happy with that. i have had a few treats, after all its christmas but plan them carefully, i'm wishing each of you a wonderful and blessed christmas. (((hugs))) rosey
Hi Goldens, glad to hear I am not the only one with problems getting on the site, I get a Script Error message and then all is hopless.
I can't remember if I mentioned this or not, but for the month of Dec at work, everyday was a food day (for some reason they did this instead of just one pot luck day for Christmas) So, there has been tons of food everyday, some days not so bad homemade soup or hot dishes, but other than mostly sweets of every kind and color.
Well, one day they had roast beef, baked beans, cheese trays, buns, chips, and relishes and cookies. So, for a snack I took some roast beef, some beans and a few slices of cheese and was walking away. Then I was stopped by a guy at work that is diabetic, he says what kind of meal is that, you don't have a bun for your sandwich, and I said I don't eat plain white bread, he said your not diabetic are you, I said no, and he said oh, so you eat grain bread, I said yes, when I do eat bread. And he said yeah, that is what I should be doing. As he stands before me with two huge sandwiches w/buns, chips, beans, relishes and cookies(s). So I walked away. Then I when back by him later and told him, you know if you skip the empty carb white bread, you can then enjoy a cookie maybe and not feel so bad. he agreed that was a good idea. But I know he won't do it.
It made me really think about my lifestye change for eating, I know I can have whatever I want, and I seem to be happy with the choices I know are good, even when there is tons of no no's available. ( and not I didn't have a cookie )
This same guy has been really having problems with his weight and his health, but he is always eating and sneaking food. I only hope my suggestion may help him at some time.
Not much else is new here, one more day of work and then off for three days. We finally got an inch of snow in WI, and it has stayed on the ground for the day, so far.
Good Hola, All…
I’m going to have a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup for dinner… yum! I HAVE to get myself a little freezer so I can start preparing my good meals again. It was always so nice to pull out something good for dinner; now I have to think about it, and my choices aren’t always that great.
Marie – I’m so glad those stretches are helping your hip. Amazing, isn’t it? I took a header on GM’s icy sidewalk this afternoon and I thank God I’ve been doing the stretches, too. I have a big ol’ butt to bounce, and the hip is ‘nary twitching. It scared me, though, and it hurt like crazy when I fell. I’m OVER this ice! Between the fall and all the spinning and being stuck today, it’s enough already!
Mary – I KNOW! That weight comes back a lot faster than we took it off, that’s for sure!
Bobbi – I had some trouble with the script error on this site, on the work computer (IE), but I downloaded Firefox today. It was too busy to see if that took care of it, but it should. I don’t know what to say about the jumping around. I seem to remember that happening with my PC, but I can’t remember what I did to correct it! Computers are so annoying! When I have trouble with 3FC, I just get cranky and go to FB.
Freda – good thoughts for your family and your BIL.
Marie – is Kai okay?????? SamCat took time out from his sneezing and sniffling to worry about his beloved Kai. Poor little girl! Are huskies prone to seizures?
CarolSue – glad you’re recovering! I hope you can keep off those pounds you lost! The boogers tend to make you think they’re gone and then come back when you’re feeling better! You're right: crummy of me to say that!
CK – how did the inspection go? Any wrenches in the works?
Hola, my friend, Rosey! Glad to hear from you that all is well in Alaska!
PT/Zoe – whither art thou?
Off tomorrow and Monday! After today’s annoying snow experiences (got stuck coming out of the driveway, got stuck in the street, got stuck coming home… I’m going to need a new clutch at the end of the season, probably!), I’m looking forward to some Gork time! I have two chocolate éclair cakes to make and that’s the end of the gifts! Yeah!
Good for you who are staying on track with your eating...wish I could say I was. It's not just the holidays it's just me going back to my own ways. Doing good today so far though. If I don't watch it I will gain back all the weight I lost with MF.
Marie - I'm not going back to eating the MF way...it works and I need to do that as I've gained a lot since I quit but I just can't. It is too hard to keep my own recipes to their requirements plus I get tired of eating the same thing, I like a large variety of foods in my diet. I'm glad I tried MF because I am still lower than I was and I learned some things. I may buy a few products from them but I'm embarrassed to say that the things I like I will even overeat on them now! They used to keep me so full but now it's almost like everything else! I just can't have a lot of stuff I like in my house! Since that is just about everything...it's difficult but you see it's ultimately learning to control myself I need to learn no matter what the food is. I think the main thing I just need to do is say no to myself esp in the evenings. Scared me this am when I saw how much I'd gained...so I'm being careful today. I know I have to get a handle on this and no matter how long it takes I will never give up. I will always enjoy the holidays but I still hope to get so I can eat more moderately.
Sorry to hear about your poor puppy! I hope she doesn't have any more seizures! Must have been scary!
Chick - sounds like you are doing well with your eating! I need to hear it can be done...LOL
Slmn - Glad you're doing well. Don't worry about your house right now. The nurse will understand. Right now you just need to recover successfully.
About trees...we just go with an artificial tree that someone gave us these days. I used to insist on a fresh free but since dh broke his leg I don't. He still goes up into the attic to bring everything down but it's still a little easier on him.
I cleaned out my bathroom cupboards..I had stuffed a lot of things from the RV in there and it was a mess, but looks nice now. Also steamed mopped the floor and changed towels, rugs etc. Still have more housework I want to do tonight, but I'm getting a little caught up at least. Also did more grocery shopping. I'll probably have a few things to pickup tomorrow or Sat morning but I'm pretty well set.
I'm planning on Taco Casserole, salad for Christmas Eve. If the kids are here, I'll also make dessert and also serve a few other sweets and homemade bread. Hope to send the kids home with a lot! ;-) Then Sunday it's rib roast, roast veggies, gravy and homemade bread (baking first two loaves now) plus whatever remaining sweets (hopefuly not too much).
Mary, I do have to agree with you on not going back to the MF plan. As you lost and were doing great, you kept mentioning how scared you were that you would gain it back. So unless you’d want to do the MF the rest of your life, then learning to eat controlled portions of the foods you love will work for you. I know you have an iPhone and I can’t recommend the LoseIt! App highly enough. It’s how I log. The latest update has a new feature that you can scan the barcode of a food and it will put it into your list. I’ve tried it twice and was amazed how cool it worked. DH used the program and lost 20 pound with it. BTW, it’s a free app.
Donna, Miss Kai is doing well and thanks SamCat for his concern and worry. She’s still a little clingy but she’s good. Her tongue looks fine but I bet it hurts. I’m finishing up washing all my bedding since pre full blown seizure she jumped up onto my bed then went into full seizure. Loss of bladder… no need to say more. Last load is in the dryer. And I don’t believe Huskies are any more prone to seizures than any other breed. Thankfully, she has a mild case of epilepsy and doesn’t need to be on meds. She has a seizure every 2 months or so. Every month or so and the vet would medicate her. Doing the log the vet told me to do has been helpful because then I know when we are due. I knew we were on borrowed time. Now hopefully we have none for another 2 months.
Chickadee, I hope your comment to your co-worker helps. But I wouldn’t hold my breath. I’m pretty sure everyone with a weight problem knows how to eat correctly. We just don’t make that choice because food is our comfort. I think to lose weight you have to want to lose significantly more than you want food. When I want to cheat, I ask myself if I will be happy 5 minutes after the cheat. Of course the answer is no 99% of the time. I put that question back into my thought process after Thanksgiving and the weight regain is coming back off. So basically we just all need to find what works for us individually and want it really badly.
Rosey, my doggies are so jealous of your doggies and their bones. I think my huskies’ eyes have changed from blue to green. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Karen and others… I just went back to a new 3FC and the frustration, no scrolling, jumping started. I noticed that the page was still trying to load. I could see the posts were loaded but I’m guessing the ads weren’t. So I hit the stop button (X in firefox for Mac) and the loading stopped and the posts are all there. I was able to scroll without problem. Just an FYI. You can always stop pages from loading all the way using the stop button in all browsers. Give it a try when the pages seem stuck on a script.
Carol Sue, do not worry about the cleanliness of your house. You are recovering from major surgery so recover. Don’t clean.
My haircut is cute. I asked for more dramatic layers while leaving the length. Then Mary (stylist) asked if I wanted curls or straight. As I’m great with styling straight (not hard since I have straight hair) I asked for curls. She used a new iron (called a clipless iron) and I have the cutes waves all around my head. The UPS man will be delivering a clipless iron tomorrow. Thank you Amazon Prime and overnight shipping for $3.99. I’ll try to take a picture and post it on FB. OK, I’m a dingy. I have an MacBook with a built in camera and Photobooth. So here’s the picture.
Marie
Marie, your haircut looks cute--- I clicked on the picture to make it bigger and it said it is an invalid link--- so I couldn't see it any bigger. But it does look cute. I like it
