Hey GGs,
Just wanted to stop by & say Hello to everyone. Still worried about KarenFL. Hope she’s just off having fun, like Rie suggested, & is too busy to check in.

Zoe, I'm so glad you're back, & that you had such a good time. Love your new avatar! You're looking Great! All tanned & happy. I am having trouble seeing your other pics - just see one very small one that won't enlarge, & 2 red x's (maybe the problem is with my connection?). Don't worry about stopping in to kick SO's butt (though I would welcome a visit, & you can still kick his butt if you really want to!). I put my foot down about his DD not being welcome on our day out, & I'm sticking to it!

Freda, I really like bright toenail polish, does make me want to wear my flip flops - just bought another pair last night! Marie, you really should go for that bright pink. That’s what I have right now, but I think I want bright red next. (Rie, have you tried toenail polish? I just can’t remember if you mentioned it. And, from a size 24 to a size 14 - sounds like a very “happy size“ to me!) For all of you that mentioned pedicures, I want to share an idea I had. I made myself a small sandbox, using a footbath-size tub & play-sand (& I recently added some jasmine bath salts, because I wanted it scented). Then I “walk” in it, & rub the sand all over my feet. I figure since sand is an abrasive, it helps to smooth away the rough spots, & it feels pretty good to “play” in it. I’m not really sure it’s doing any good, but I like it. Oh, & since I have cats, I keep it covered when I’m not using it!

Marie, such beautiful dogs (& you look pretty good too!). Thanks for sharing the pic. Rosey, don’t know if I told you, but I really enjoyed all your pics of you & DH & the DGKs. You all look like you’re having loads of fun.

KarenMO, you are one brave lady - putting your house up for sale & wanting to move. I just HATE moving. So much work! I don’t plan on moving ever again. (Good thing I really like it here!) Good luck, though. Guess it helps that your real estate agent is your brother and/or sister!

Gayle, sorry your weight was up (but just a tiny bit , & we know that doesn‘t really mean anything - it‘s just a number!). Good for you on hanging in there! Your Maddie sounds so adorable (as usual), & so precocious!

Lynn, I’m really sorry about that “water on the head” incident! When we had a roof leak, the water kept ending up in the globe of the overhead light fixture in a hall. Found out the reason for that was, that (in mobile homes, at least), there is a solid sheet of plastic between the insulation & the ceiling, & when water gets in there, it comes out where ever there is a hole - like for a light fixture. Pretty scary, water & electricity together! But, it didn’t seem to cause any problems with our electrical system. Hope you’re not having any.

Hedgehog, hope your not missing your DS & DIL, (& the French fries) too much. At least you got a lot done while they were there. Your bathroom sounds really pretty. Why don’t you post pics? I’m sure we’d all like to see it. I would anyway.

Debbie, hope you’re having fun with your friends. Sherry, hope that sunburn’s not too painful! Donna, did you have cake at that b-day party? I would have! Do you think your brother might decide to stay in CO to be closer to you & Granny/Mom?

Mary, I guess your DD & your DGKs are back today? Hope you & DH are feeling better & enjoying their visit.

Rie, the Strawberry Festival sounded like fun. I really enjoy getting out & going to local festivals. It’s a good, fun way of getting some walking in (my only form of exercise!). I always drag my SO along, but he enjoys it (he just doesn‘t like to admit it). I wish my mom would go with us, but she really does tire too easily these days. At least she still goes out to eat with us, & we do some shopping together. I am really glad to still have her around, & she’s the one that pretty much keeps the family all “tied together”! If she weren’t around, I’m afraid we’d all lose touch with each other. Naw, I’d have to step-up & take over, since I’m the oldest. Darn! She better be around for a very looonng time!

I've been here far too long! It's a pretty day, though a little hot, & I should be outside! Bye y'all.

Hi Everyone,

Zoe, SO GLAD to hear from you. I had forgotten you were on vacation & was getting worried. NO - I do not have contact info for Karen.

For new folks - I keep a contact list - names/email addresses/phone numbers/mailing addresses/emergency contacts for those Golden Girls who choose to be on the list. I share the list with only 2 folks in the group. We keep it just-in-case. If you would like to participate, PM your info to me and I will add.

My DD finished the 26.1 mile marathon in less than 5 hours! She was running for the LLS group and had on her shirt "I am running for my mother who has Lymphoma." She ran the whole race in pouring-down rain. I am VERY proud of her.

Good Late Afternoon, All...
Came home from the in-store demo gig and DIED... I napped for 2 hours. My leg was killing me! But I'm upright and functional (more or less) again!

PT/Zoe, do you have another daughter that you found on the beach? Who IS in that avatar????????? You look FABULOUS, dahling! Your other pictures didn't "take": "The image cannot be displayed because it contains errors." Can you try them again, please? I'm so glad you had a good time! When is the wedding?

Lynn, I'm glad you reminded people again of the 3FC Contact List! For those of you who don't realize its importance, we had a long-time member just go "poof in the night", and we still don't know what happened to her, and it has caused a big hole in the group. If she'd given us contact info, we'd know what happened. We used it when Rosey had her surgery, to keep us posted... and a couple of other times, too. Sign up! It's free! It's safe!!

Nancy, but of COURSE I had cake at the party (and the 7 different types of salads, the bbq meats, the veggies, etc., etc., etc.) It was so much fun to see some of those people that I haven't seen in, yes!, 40 years (OMG).

I doubt my brother would move here. He has family in Phoenix, but his health doesn't permit him to spend the summers in AZ, which is why he had the "summer place" in Greer, AZ. I don't know what/where he'll decide. I've enjoyed seeing him, but I need him to go away so that I can get back OP!!!

Enough for now! Hope you're all doing okay!

Good evening everyone!

Today was an OP day. I tried a couple of the wonderslim products yesterday and today. I think I might have actually found a protein shake that i can enjoy. I also liked the Apples and Cinnamon oatmeal I ate this morning, and certainly the peanut butter bar I had yesterday. It's kind of nice because they let you order this sampler pack. I have been looking for some low carb supplemental products that I can use in a pinch and I think I will order.

Donna, so glad you had fun at the party and enjoyed all the wonderful foods. It must be nice to spend time with your brother. It is sad about his cabin.

Lynn, I will send you my contact info. What a nice story about your daughter. It brought tears to my eyes. You must be so proud.

Nancy, I am glad that you are standing your ground about date night. You are entitled. Don't make Donna come down there! I love the sand scrub idea! Yes, my tonails are always painted. Usually different shades of pink.

Zoe, what a great trip to the beach. Family, vacation and friends. The best of everything. Your new avatar is wonderful. You look so good! I couldn't open the other pictures. Welcome back.

Marie, I love the pic of you and the dogs. Just how I pictured it. They are really beautiful.

Karen, good luck on the house stuff. I think a hot tub would be great. More people have them here because they get more use than swimming pools. It is pretty nice to sit in a steaming hot tub when there is snow everywhere! I can't even imagine moving.....

Freda
, I hope that you enjoyed the graduation party and that you found some balance with the food.

I have a very busy week ahead of me. Board meeting early in the week then budget hearings at the end. Have a great evening.

Rie

ps. this is the new ear cuff I bought.

Good Morning all,

Well, I did as well as I could at the graduation party yesterday, food wise. There wasn't a lot to chose from. I had a chicken breast, took the skin off, a spoon full of spaghetti salad (and you know that stuff is full of oil) and a small slice of sub sandwitch. and dessert. I had 2 small spoons full of punch bowl cake, one of strawberry and one chocolate. So, I didn't have a huge amount of food but nothing healthy at all. But I only had cereal for breakfast and no lunch, so not too bad. It's just hard at event where you have no controle over what is served. The day was cold and cloudy, after all the sun and warm weather we've had. But at least it wasn't raining, as we've been getting a lot of that too.

Rie, New earcuff rocks!

Donna, Sorry to hear that you are still having problems with your leg. Does anything help it? Enjoy your time with your brother. And always have cake!

Z, good to see you back, and hear what a good time you had. You look so tan and rested and healthy!

Nancy, I guess it is the older generation that "sticks" the family together. For us it was my 97 year old DGM who died 4 years ago. She made the family promise that that they would stay together and remain close. So we had a family reunion every year on her birthday. Everyone doesn't always make it but we usually have 100 or so people there. I hope it continues and doesn't just fade away. Family is too important. My mom is the oldest girl and plans everything now, but with her dementia I don't know how much longer that can last. Lots of others in the family but I don't know if they will continue it.

Lynn, Yeah! for you and your daughter. That is awsome!

Don't know what is going on today, besides lots of laundry and cleaning. What ever your plans are, make it a good day,

Freda

Good Morning,

I am sitting at computer table in my auto dealer drinking cappucino (sp?) while my car is serviced. I LOVE this place. Later, I am off to my volunteering at LLS.

????? - my gremlin "mechanical" gods are at it again. Service agent just let me know that all the problems I have been experiencing with my car are NOT problems today. Headlight that was off is now on & GPS is working perfectly! Must be me!

Check back after "work."

Good morning GG's,

It is nice and sunny here today. One more day of work then off tomorrow.

Even though working the weekend, had a nice time in the evenings. Saturday ~ Jason, Sara and Maddie were here, then last night Sara was here for a while. I love it when they come visit.

Saturday is Sara's big "30" ~ thinking about maybe going to the beach and doing a picnic if she has any interest in that.

I can't see the pictures that have been posted here in the last couple days either. It hasn't been a problem in the past. Like Nancy, I can see a small one (Zoe's and Rie's) but they won't enlarge as usual. And then the other ones have a red x and no picture. Don't know what's up with that.

Guess I'd better get off here and finish getting ready for work. Staying here playing is so much more preferable though

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Take care

Good morning all!

It is a beautiful clear summer morning hear. The sky is such a brilliant blue. I plan to try to enjoy the day as they say the rain is back tomorrow.

I tried a new workout this morning. Kickboxing. It was fun but I stopped after 30 minutes.(it comes in 10 minute segments) My knee and back were starting to twinge at me and I have too much going on this week to be sore. I think that is an aging thing - I never used to worry about how an activity was going to affect me the next day. Sometimes I really resent it Oh well.

BBL for personals.....

Good Morning, All...
Quick check in.... I've been gone so much the last week that my domestic drudgery chores have really suffered. I need Mary!!! Trust me, I know how to pace myself !

Freda, the leg problem is hip arthritis. I need a new one. It's going to have to wait for a few more years, until I can get on Medicare. Right now, the hospital deductible is way, way too prohibitive. I hope the PowersThatBe who don't use "our" kind of insurance don't decide to eliminate coverage for hip replacements, an idea about which I read in an article recently.

Lynn, your car and household appliances have found out about your windfall SSI increase. Those things ALWAYS know when you have an extra $10 in your pocket and will make sure you have to spend $20. Good luck! I hope the GremlinGods leave you alone for a while.

Gayle, I haven't been able to enlarge the thumbnail pictures for a long time. And there's a glitch with PT/Zoe's pictures; maybe they'll work when she tries again. It's not YOU. Sometimes, computers suck. Have you noticed?

Nothing else. I'm going to go try to be a domestic goddess, at least for 10 or 15 minutes! Happy Monday, Everyone!

Good Evening!

I am a happy golden girl tonight. Today was weigh in day and the ticker is down 6 pounds! I didn't expect much because of my injury and eating good food while I was traveling. I now officially weigh less than my weight on my drivers license - and I have been lying about that for 20 years! lol

Rosey, I hope to see the pictures of the completed deck soon. As well as you are getting around, you will enjoy being out there. In case I forget later, I hope the guys have a good hunt.

Gayle, It is obvious that you have a family that loves you very much. That is testimony to a loving heart.

Sherry, hope you are having a good one, also!

Donna, I am so sorry to hear that your hip problem is arthritis. I am with you in hoping that full coverage medicare is going to be there for us. For those of us with health problems, facing retirement without that security will be really scary. I am told that I need a total knee replacement. I am hoping to lose enough weight and get strong enough to wait several years. Arthritis is rampant in my family. My dad has had both hips and both knees replaced

Lynn, mechanical problems that disappear when the expert shows up are the worst! I hope that they didn't treat you like the "girly who knows nothing about cars" thing..... I used to race stock cars and I get really irritated with condescending auto mechanics.

Freda, it sounds like you did a good job of being in control with food. Like you, I worry about those situations and I feel nervous if I can't contribute a salad or something so I know that I can eat a lot of something... But, I guess we all need to accept the fact that celebrations will occur and that food is often a part of celebrations.... I hope that someday I can be like my thin friends and relatives who seem to be able to indulge on occasion and still stay slim and healthy.

Hello this evening to Zoe. I hope that your first day back at work wasn't too taxing. Administrators always have work waiting for them.

Nancy, yesterday I forgot to tell you that I have a little electric foot bath. I got it at walmart, really cheap. I fill it with warm water and it warms, bubbles and the floor vibrates. I add pressed coconut oil and bath scents to the water. Lovely! For someone who won't show her feet, I sure love to take care of them! BTW I wore my new flip flops to the convenience store last night. Lightning didn't strike, no-one ran away in horror, and I survived. Foot issues, go figure!

Mary I hope that you are feeling better.

To anyone I missed: have a lovely evening!

Hello Ladies, I was thinking that since tomorrow is Flag Day that this would be a good picture to share..Look for the hidden images in the painting. This painting was done by Jack Dawson who lives here in Webb City. You can go to his website: www.bittersweetgalleries.com to see where the hidden images are. My sister bought this painting for me and I Love It!!!

Look for the neglect, warfare, sacrifice tragedy and the evil...
then look for the hope, healing, life and prayer. Who is mending the flag?
