Hi Karen,

I'm glad you like the recipes. I love them. I'm making the apricot chicken one for my Easter dinner.

I LOVE your photo - but I did need to use my magnifying glass to see it. For some reason, it didn't blow up bigger when I clicked on it.

I'm still wating for my cousin to send me the photos she took while we were away. As soon as I get them, I'll be changing my avatar photo.

Lynn

. . . HOPPY BUNNY DAY . . .

We have a lovely morning on the go -- and I find that very comforting for Easter Sunday -- unfortunately it's also very windy and cold; but one out of three ain't bad.

Thanks LAURIE . . . . . . all sun is appreciated.

Hey K3 . . . . . . You don't have to do a bunch of extra work to join the Accountability thread (unless you want to know the calories, of course) . . . that's part of the beauty of the way it works. The secret is to post something that spells out your day -- calories, points, minutes of exercise, a statement of being OP or nor OP -- whatever has meaning for you.

LYNN . . . . . . all I see his K3's new avatar picture and those don't get bigger when you click on them. Maybe I'm missing something?

Hope everybody has a really great day . . .

Good Morning Everyone - Happy EggBunny Day

Hi Beth, want to send your son down to PA? So far, I have not been able to get an audio book downloaded to the MP3 player. Maybe my Little Sister will be able to help me.

Hi Mary, you wrote, "I uploaded a picture for my avatar but when I previewed it, it was so huge that I wasn't sure how it would work." Here are directions that someone sent to me awhile ago - here is a link for a tried and true old favorite software. It allows you to change the size of your pics. and the format. (jpg, etc.)
http://www.irfanview.com/
Just open you pics with it, ""save as…""
to your desk top. and experiment with the Quality of the pic when you save it.
I find to save it at about 60% lets me save most at the size needed.
There is a box at the bottom of the window, says…”SHOW OPTIONS DIALOG” click it.
Also might want to resize the pic first. about 640 X 480.

Hi Gayle, Happy Bike-Riding!

Hi Freda, you wrote, "...remember, there will be other holidays and other food." I LIKE that thought.

Hi Linda, "avatars don't get big when you click on them" - this must be my new thing to learn today.

Hi Laurie, I made an extra call to my DD (we talk several times every day & see each other several times every week) to let her know I do NOT want any chocolate bunnies this year.

Hi Cat, may we PLEASE see a photo of Rupert and Astrid?

Hi Karen3, not sure whether or not I told you - I was NOT in Brandon, FL for my reunion (that is where one of my cousins lives), I was in Valdosta, GA.
About the new "challenge" thread & South Beach. All you would need to post each day is something like "On SB" or "Off SB" One of my challenges is to NOT eat after dinner. I post NEAD (no eating after dinner) on everyday that I stick to this challenge.

Hi Karen31, did MSN charge you for "all their help?" Last time I called them, they charged me $50 to tell me which key to press.

Hi Laurie, the author of the book (Mark Hyman) has a website. I think you can get some info about the program there.

Lynn

good morning GG's We had our Easter dinner yesterday so the kids could go to their other grandma's for dinner today. It snowed all day, and we had a good sized accumulation. The kids were looking forward to hunting eggs so I just hid them in the house. They still had fun. Dinner was the traditional ham with all the trimmings. I made desert and DIL brought pretzel/jello. I did quite well. I even had a small serving of dessert, but didn't go over board.

Gayle, good to hear from you again. That bike ride sounds like fun. I hope to get out there again soon too. Will this snow ever stop!

karen, So great that you lost the 3 lb so quickly. Isn't computer problems the pits? Our WOW service went down yesterday. We have the 3 way plan, phone,tv and computer and they were all out. Got service back last night some time. Thankfully we still had the cell phone.

Lynn, looking forward to seeing your pictures. You mentioned everyone having a picture on their (what ever you call it) but where your signature is. I would love that idea. Like seeing who you are talking to. I would be happy to but don't have a clue. If someone could walk me through I would be much grateful.

Karen 3, I see you got your picture in. I hate being so computer challenged, but I'm learning.

Gail, Could I borrow your teenagers? I'll give them back as soon as they show me how to do a few things on the computer. My grandson is only 8 so I have a few more years to go before i'm getting expert advice.

Cat, So good to hear from you again. I read somewhere that the best time to exercise was in the morning. Can't get up enough energy myself. Maybe I need to rethink that. My problem area is my tummy too, and i'd given up. But you say it's possible? Ok, i'll trust you.

Laurie, You had sun? No snow? You live farther up north, that's not supposed to happen.

Linda, Glad to hear that you at least got some sun. That always makes me happy.

Everyone have a Blessed day, Freda

Morning y'all....Happy Easter.

Sorry to have taken so much space up last night. Somehow the picture blew to 6"X6" and everytime I posted it followed me. I deleted and rewrote twice before figured it all out. hehhehe you could have a month of just me posted.

Linda and Lynn...thank you for the challenge help. Just doing yesterday was a help. I was so sure I was op and eating right. Wrong Again! Had not enough calories before pita and not enough vegies either. So gonna start writing daily and checking self. You'll have to hear me whine about pushing vegies....blah.

All of you with access to grand babies...enjoy them. Have one little one (8yr) in PA the rest are grown. Been years since had dyed eggs or chicks. So loved your stories and they brought back so many memories.

DH is still flat out with the flu. Gonna making him go to the doctor tomorrow for sure. He coughs all night long.

Take care of yourself, eat heathy and hugs...karen3

Good Morning, HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE!!

Freda--- we also have the phone, internet and DirecTV in one package through our phone company! And Thank goodness the MSN is FREE through Qwest (our phone company) I've never had any trouble with them up until the last few days but that was enough! And I still think it was "their server trouble" because I today I still can't get to "Mymsn homepage" The msn webpage I can get to but not mymsn. And everything else is working wonderful!! Have my fingers crossed that it will continue.
I had never thought about if all three go out at the same time--- my cell phone won't work up here in the mountains!! Hopefully that won't happen here.

Lynn, I've been thinking about getting a MP3 palyer too. But I was wondering about loading books on it because most of the ones that I saw (that I could afford) said only for music. So I will be putting that on the back burner for now.

Well, I need to get busy and get some stuff done here. WE have a small ham that I'm fixing with some sweet potatoes and I don't know what else just yet. I know we will have salad too. But guess it will just be Tim and I for this Easter.

Take care everybody. And Again HAPPY EASTER!!!

Happy Easter to all!

There, got that out of the way - virtual bunnies are so much healthier

Yup - more sun today Southern MI got dumped on, and we missed it for a change. (sorry you got it though Freda)

All the PowerPoint presentations for Holy Week are now behind me Whew - glad that responsibility is done. Time to start thinking about prep for the spring break to TN to see mom and SF. And to research what trails will be open in the Smokies.

Hope you all have a wonderful, Spirit-filled, and POP Easter day!

Who knows what is going on with MSN. I did find out that you can go to just the msn.com and use that as your homepage though. I sure am not going to call them to see if they can "FIX" it!!! I'll just wait and see what happens in the next few days! At least everything else is working fine now!

Happy Easter all

I had a NSV of sorts. Didn't get lured into those evil cadbury eggs as much as I had other years.

Off to work soon. Then off a couple days. Yippee!!

Take care

Default New Golden Oldie here

Hi Everyone,

I am 54 years old a mother of seven and grandmother of five almost six. New grandson due in three weeks. After raising our bio children we adopted five children. Couldn't stand the quiet housel l Well, maybe I could a little now. lol Life is a challange with the two youngest children and myself all being disabled. They are in wheelchairs, I am in scooter for anything longer then a half a block. Back injuries did me in and six spine surgeries trying to repair it. I have just been diagnosed with spinal stenosis which is inoperable untill I start becoming paraplegia. Surgery to risky and success rates low as well as high risks prevent an attempt now. So I need to actively take control of my health and do something to attempt to prolong my mobility.

Today was a hard to to get through. EASTER...chocolate bunnies, peeps, ham and mashed potatoes. yummmmmmm I am proud to say i stayed within my diet. I started eleven days ago and have dropped eleven pounds. Weather that is mostly water and not fat isn't an important factor. I just know I am doing it. I went on this same diet 27 years ago and lost seventy pounds and kept it off until my injury. So I have proof that my diet works for me. I set my goal of ten pounds at a time. I am already starting my second goal with nine more to go. I want to lose at least 85 pounds and now have 74 to go. EEEEKS!!! That sounds to much lol I HAVE TEN POUNDS TO GO!!!
There, that sounds better. One step at a time.

If I set realistic goals for myself it is so much easier. I also like soups and create trace fat low cal soups which I can eat as much as I want to or enough to fill me up nicely. Today's was chicken vegetable with dumplings.

It's great to see a forum with other ladies my age. It is so much harder taking pounds off as we get older isn't it?

We will succeed....

Annie

Hi DINKSTER . . . to the Age 50+ Forum and also. You will love it around here, I'm sure -- lots of great support and encouragement as you travel the long and sometimes very bumpy road to better health and fitness.

It's great that you have found a routine that you know works and, , you are very right about it getting much more difficult to lose the older we get. Especially when we get handed extra challenges as well. Stick with us, chickie -- together we can do it.

See you soon . . .
