Well I have to wait a few weeks to start working out...eating will be down to not much though. I ended up having a badly bruised spleen and it is making me sick when I eat. So far that is all they found on the CT scan that I just had done today..Happy New Years to me!! :/ I can eat soup without getting sick and the doc said it could be 3 weeks or so before it all goes back to normal. But I have to take it easy because it is so inflamed any more damage could cause a rupture.

I hope you all have a wonderful New Years Eve!!! stay safe....and take any drunk drivers keys away from them...

onmiwei - I hope you feel better! So sorry to hear about your accident!

Went for a 2 mile walk today. Bought myself some new Asics running shoes and some boots that can be used for walking/hiking in the snow. I am determined to get back on track, because the scale keeps going up and up. I've been saving my calories for later in the day, when I tend to eat more. It seems to be working, because I have been within 50 calories give or take of my range for the past two days, which is progress. I really hope that 2013 is the year I reach my goal weight.

Good luck, everyone. Happy New Year!

onmiwei - I'm so sorry you have to go through this!!! Hope you are feeling better soon!

guacamole - YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Don't you absolutely LOVE Asics?? They are expensive - but are my absolute FAVORITE tennis shoe!! And awesome that you have snow boots to walk outside - and that you are staying within your caloric boundaries!! (I can't say the same - until tomorrow - - then WATCH OUT!! ) And you will definitely hit your goal weight in 2013!!! Let's do it together!!

I'm sitting here watching home decorating shows -- lol - don't want to watch chick flicks - because I'm alone they make me cry - I'm just not in the mood to cry tonight - lol. So I'm sticking to home decorating, and maybe watch an action film or something - lol. I'm really bummed about not going to this party - feel like I'm skipping out on a resolution I made to be more social...and here I sit - not being social when I had a chance....(sigh) - but I know I made the right decision. The roads are covered - salt truck just went by - not worth the risk. And there will be more parties!

Confession - I made cheesy potatoes and have been eating them. But I used light sour cream, fat free cream of mushroom soup - - but still --- completely off the wagon!! I'm not going to beat myself up about it - it's done - but tomorrow morning I weigh in - - it won't be good. Anyway - glad it's a new year!!!

(sigh) - hope everyone has a wonderful and safe New Year's Eve!

AAAAhhhh BOOM! The kick in the butt worked! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I walked for nearly an hour! My eating so far is spot on. H2O, no brainer. We are having salmon steaks & steamed veggies for New Year's dinner tomorrow. We also have a looong walk in the park planned
Found out that sodium is a really, really big no-no for H the hard way. That's what caused his feet to swell. Took basically 72 hrs. of nothing but water & super healthy eating to get it to go away. He's bummed because so much stuff has sodium in it! But we're gong to do this together! If it's healthy for him, it's healthy for me..
2 items of good news! 1 we got H approved to get his medical coverage!!! We got the call this AM, so now he can get his heart monitor & then his pacemaker. I braved the scale this AM...I thought what the heck, I'll give it a try. I didn't gain, I didn't loose. Yup, I asked my scales for forgiveness, I've said some really horrible thigs about it lately.
SO IT HAS THE STARTING OF HAPPY NEW YEAR HERE!!!

Shelia: You can't spend all of 2013 in bed! Yes, move that body! You'll be glad you did! Trust me! Lastly, PLEASE, PLEASE get back on the wagon with us! We miss you! We are here to help! Forgetta bout those tatoes...that is in the past. Onward & upward to 2013!

Zumba: you better start using that 24 hr. gym or I'm going to come take it away from you! I WISH we had a 24 hr. gym here. None of the gyms take into account that people work odd hours. MOVE IT! MOVE IT! MOVE IT!

Sheila: We too are taking it quiet & easy tonight. We've got plenty of good, healthy eats for tonight & tomorrow. We'll watch some movies & then call it a night. If we see 2013 arrive, so be it...if not, it'll be there when we wake up! Whatever you decide be safe.

onmiwei: Sorry your injuries are more than what was first thought. Rest, heal & you'll be back in fightin' shape before you know it. I'd hate for you to aggrevate your injuries.

guacamole: Love Asics. I just can never find them in my size around here. I'm an 8.5W...just like all the other women around here!! UGH! Those boots sound awesome! Keep on fightin' the good fight! A healthy 2013 is in your future!!!

OKAY, LADIES! TOMORROW STARTS A NEW YEAR----2013! IT'S GOING TO BE A HEALHTY ONE, RIGHT?

My resolutions for 2013:
1. Exercise a minimum of 5 days a week for 45 mins +
2. Be an encouragement to all the others on the 3 Chicks board.
3. Healthy eating for both H & myself. Low/no sodium, low/no fat, cutting out sodas (except for on special ocassions), little or no alcohol, lean meats, etc.

Sorry to let you all down....I'm an embarrassment to my gender (usually, I say species)....ALL the boys in my house can do the hula hoop better than I can waaaaaaa! ....I laughed for 20 min after TH tried it...

Well the bouncy scales bounced back down a bit....I track calories and carbs, but I could probably better predict what the scale will do if I tracked my poopies.....Hey, sounds like the beginning of a money-making diet book!

Worked late today, now waiting for the guys to come home from skiing....I'm putting in new shelves in the bathroom tonight....wish I had a good movie, but can't stay up late anyway....gotta work again tomorrow.....I really have to give more thought to my resolutions....Solid goals...solid plans....right direction...

Zumba---oh good, another Atkins warrior....anyone else?...I'm actually feeling "normal" today... and very little appetite....yea, I was aware of the potassium/salt issue....eating more brassicas than Atkins would like...not sure I could stomach broth...my salts get way out of whack on Atkins so I have to be careful...the low carb forum is not very active here, unfortunately

Everybody feel better soon....and watch out....sounds like lots of butt kickin' is planned for 2013!!!....working on making mine a smaller target....

Evening All,

Started NROL program today.

ZUMBA: Both hubby (he was off today so started with me) and I watched videos because the text is confusing. So glad I got the video version!
Reading it we both figured we'd start at the lowest level - good thing. We can both feel it already! As a matter of fact - going to soak in a hot bath right now.

Hope everyone stays safe and has a Happy New Year!

Oh - Are we starting a January Chat?

2FatCats - woo hoo!! You go girl!! Congrats on starting a weight lifting program on New Years Eve!!! WOW!

Sum38 - Happy New Year's to you too!!! I'm lifting my glass to you and a wonderful 2013!!!

SeeMyFeet - You've been productive today!!! And too funny about the hula hoop!!! I'm going to try mine for the first time tomorrow! LOL

MrsTryingAgain - you're right!!! Please promise me that we kick each other's butts in 2013!! I'm with you girlfriend!! And you're right!! The potatoes are history (well, they are in my belly, but can't change that now) LOL. I'm going to spend the first hour of 2013 on the treadmill and with my hula hoop tomorrow!

I feel bad - my kickboxing instructor texted me wondering why I wasn't at the party - - felt really good that they missed me! But I also felt bad - she didn't get my earlier message Feel like I should have gone. Just like the potatoes, I can't change it now - and honestly, I don't want to be out on the roads tonight - still sitting here alone is a bit depressing.

But tomorrow is a new year!! Hope everyone has a wonderful evening!

2FatCats--I'm starting the NROLW program today! I'm ordering a bench today and have been shopping for weights. I plan to finish buying today. I finished reading the book the other day. Here I go!

Kelijpa--Congrats on that new BMI. Those mini-goals feel great, don't they?

Sheila--I'm impressed that you spent the first hour of 2013 on the treadmill. So symbolic. Good for you. Sounds like you have people counting on you to get out socially too. Go do it in 2013.

SeeMyFeet--We'll forgive you on the hula hoop. I could never do that very well either.

MrsTryingAgain--I'm so happy to hear you got medical coverage for your husband. That has to be a huge relief.

Onmiwei--Take care of yourself. I'm so sorry to hear about your spleen!

--------------
As much as I tried to avoid all the bugs out there, I am fighting a nasty cold that has settled into my chest. Yucky! I'm starting my weight lifting program today and am excited to start transforming my body. 2012 was the year for me to trim down; 2013 is my year to tone up. I feel way out of my league here with weights, so I'm glad I'm doing this at home. I'll make less of a fool of myself there.
