Ugh, I really thought I would get to the 160's this week, but I forgot that TOM was coming. Still, I was steady at 170 for a few days, so hopefully the slight gain will fall off for next week.

hey girls hows it going? quick update: havent been exercising, not been eating healthy and now my grandma is here and she cooks like 3x a day so i've been eating her cooking =/ she'll be here for another week and half..i want to eat what she makes cuz A. it tastes so good and B. i dont want her to feel bad...also im on TOM...ok so i weighed in today at 155.4 at this rate im pretty sure i wont be making my goal weight...i think i'l be lucky if i reach 145 by then..well gluck to everyone for this week

oh and scarlet, lol, i'm actually looking forward to the second 12 week challenge

thanks Sniperhill! I just drank legit 2 liters of water in the past two hours ( I was astonishingly thirsty with a sore throat all of a sudden, no idea why) so its probably not gonna stick....but i am still happy i am on the right track!

khat - yep this is the half-way point. 6 weeks down and 6 more to go.

cat eyes - it's ok. You lost 50 pounds so far this year. Once you lose weight your metabolism slows. Therefore you have to eat 80% of what someone who was always your weight needs to in order to maintain. I believe it takes 13 months for your metabolism to fully adjust. Therefore even if you just maintain over these 3 months, it's still a victory.

brianalee123 - hope you feel better. When I get sick I almost always gain weight (I use it as an excuse to eat a bunch). I hope it sticks.

Belia I know you've been struggling, I'm glad you've stuck around, haven't given up and now the scale is finally moving.

I don't think I'll be making my goal weight....by the end of this 12 week challenge that is! I'm sure I will though with a few weeks more. Maybe think of it as just adding more weeks to make up for the time that you have struggled due to not being able to exercise and your grandma's cooking?

I am going to continue until I get to goal, so no worries, we can form another thread for those that want to continue

BTW, with your height, 145 is pretty slim

My secret is that I promised myself this would be the last time I went on a diet!I have tried to do this so many times, and finally I just got sick of buying bigger clothes! My goal is to weigh 199 by July 10th now. I really hope I can make it! Everyone else is doing great too, excited to see the charts!

Right I'm going to cheat a bit and post yesterday's weight as it was lower than todays! Down to 140 yesterday, so that's the target I need to beat this week.

I've stopped logging my food as it was so time consuming. I may re-start next week once I've got my motivation back but it was so nice going away and having fun and not once discussing calories that I'm wondering about changing my approach. Do some of you on here not track calories and just go with a 'common sense' approach to eating healthily?

I've tried eating healthy w/o logging my food and found that I tend to eat more and not even remember what I ate. It's very time consuming and can be a chore to log everything that you eat so I came up with a compromise that works for me: I just write down the calorie content in what I eat. I don't write down the name of the food, portion size, carbs, sugar, fiber, fat, or protein. Just the calories. This works for me bc I am only considering cals at this point. I hope this helps you!
