Hotaru - Welcome!! I bet you'll be down a few pounds tomorrow if you weighed in the middle of the day. Weigh first thing - you'll be pumped Glad you finally posted!!

supercalves - Welcome!! I count calories & exercise, & that's really what works best for my body. Do whatever you think is healthy for you & what you feel like your body would respond to. I know lots of women have to watch their carb intake on top of their calorie intake, for example. As for exercise, posting here keeps me accountable. Knowing that I have to log in everyday & tell people what I did or didn't do, really helps. Good luck & welcome to the board!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the advice on how to stay motivated. I was reading that it is best to exercise on an empty stomach and I think I may follow this advice. This way instead of going straight for dinner and the couch, I will go for a run and dinner will be my reward.
Also, I weighed in at a little over 159, but I guess we will see tomorrow.

exercise today: 30 minutes- walked one mile and jogged one mile

Thanks for the welcomes! Sadly, this weekend was probably not the best time to officially start my weight loss journey. The most important papers of my graduate school career (my comprehensive exam essays) are due on Monday, and, well, I ended up being horrible yesterday evening/night in terms of food. Went to McD's for supper, and then Whataburger at about two in the morning while I was working on the papers.

I keep telling myself that I cannot graduate without rocking these, and it's better that I have an extra pound to burn later than that I be stuck in graduate school for another semester (AAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH...).

Still, I did weigh 171.8 today, despite not sleeping more than two hours, eating four meals, and weighing after breakfast. And my arms are sore after some very wimpy push-ups yesterday, so the work-outs are working. So it's not as bad as I'd thought. Unless I'm dehydrated, of course, in which case it's worse. Sigh. Back to writing papers, I suppose.

Morning, girls!

Weighed in at 165.1 today. I knew I would gain after bootcamp. Super sore today, and it's all in my back and butt. So in a day or two, I'll get my woosh.

I'm supposed to do w3d3 of c25k tonight, but we're supposed to get some pretty serious weather, so who knows. I'd like to finish the week, it would help alleviate some of this soreness, but running in the rain is not something I can do.

Last week of school before spring break! Wooohooo! Have a good day, ladies!

Weighed in at 170.8 this morning, but I still don't feel like I've gotten a "proper" weight yet--I had another 3 AM Whataburger run and didn't sleep afterward, so I'm hoping that it should be lower. Either way, TOM is almost done, and I think my body's adjusting to the 3L/day water consumption, which is very much a new thing.

Still ridiculously sore from a pathetic number of wimpy push-ups that I did Saturday night. I've been trying to stretch, massage, and drink lots of water, but they just hurt. *whine* I haven't worked out in ages, so the pain is something new and highly unpleasant. Hopefully it'll go away soon.

Will turn in my comprehensive exams at noon, after which I will return to my "no fast food" plan. Unfortunately, these essays HAD to get done, and food + caffeine was the only way to keep myself awake.

Wow, everyone is pretty much on fire. I've seen so many new lows, losses, and good adjustments. Wannabenurse, being a vegan is so cool. Was it a tough adjustment at first? I'm currently eating and losing on a pretty much anti-vegan diet. Its just tons of nonprocessed foods and zip refined cabs. oh, and protein. Roughly 150 grams a day. To those who have gained or are stressed with finals, do the best you can but make sure you keep plugging away at those tests. Sometimes working out will have to be less stellar then usual because things come up. The key is get your stuff done and then get back on the exercise wagon as soon as you can. I know personally, I don't miss because, well, it pays my school BUT really because it helps me think more clearly/be able to sleep at night. So I exercise but I always eat terribly in high stress situations so that may be worse.
Anywho, weighed in at 177.2. That's down a pound and four pounds away from a 'Normal' BMI. I already have "lean" body comp-was 20.2% body fat and am looking forward to checking that again once I hit 165. In fact, getting a new bodpod will be my reward for hitting that number. haha. Best of luck to all of you ladies!

Is that how it normally happens for you?

I worked out pretty hard yesterday, too (though I think I may have eaten a bit too much bread) and went up to 166.2 today (when I was 165.2 yesterday) I'm so sore I can hardly move. Think I'll get a woosh? I'd even take plop, at this point LOL.

I take plops, gladly! But yes, if you are sore after a workout, your muscles are retaining water in order to repair. In a day or two you will see that weight come off, and maybe plus some. With my bootcamp on Sundays, I don't really expect to see a loss until Wednesday, maybe Tuesday if I'm lucky.

redliss- thanks! lol For me, it wasn't a huge adjustment. I didn't eat all that much meat to begin with, so I don't miss it. It's a very individual experience, though. I've just replaced the foods I used to eat with vegan alternatives, and the weight is just falling off! Now, to work on my body comp....(something that veganism can't help me with...lol)
