I didn't do anything before I started, but I don't know that I was "typical" in the sense that I was inactive. I have never been winded from a flight of stairs, ten flights, sure, but not just one...
But, my BFF is way inactive and she started lean about 3 weeks ago, and she's going great. I know she modifys stuff!
You could maybe start out small, you know? Don't use weights or anything... Take breaks! Something is better than nothing!
I was definitely the cardio queen before I started, but hadn't done ANY weight training. I'm with Katie - modify, modify, modify. The guy on the dvds (Tony) even says - Do your best and forget the rest. He encourages you to do what you can - push yourself, yes, but do what you can.
I love the program, and it's given me a lot of strength and muscle definition.
Hi Girls! Completed Day 4 today! It was Yoga X, I didn't get to finish because I had to get ready for work and I refuse to get up earlier than 4:30. But I only missed about 25 minutes, so I am happy with that.
My upper back and triceps are very sore today from yesterdays workout, but its a good sore.
I like the Ab Ripper but I hurt my tailbone when I was young so any moves that have you sitting on that area are hard for me. I'll try sitting on a pillow tomorrow to see if that helps.
I can't wait to see the weigh ins on the 1st, is that still in your plans?
I'm still going to weigh weekly, but I did take my measurements on Monday so I can track inches too.
That's okay, lol. You can work out 100 times a day if it makes you feel better.
And ive been trying to do the p90x and then the biggest loser boot camp, but I've only managed to fit it in a few times in the past week. I guess some is better than none!
Soooooo close! I really love that pic of you, Katie - did you guys get married recently?
A lady at work mentioned to me yesterday that I'm getting "really skinny" which is hilarious, because I'm still way, way overweight, but my muffin top is shrinking fo' sho' and that, I am very, very happy for. I think you're definitely going to be under 225, and I think I'm either at 199 or reeeeeeally close to it.
We do indeed!!! I must say, after this, I HAVE to go back to weighing more often. I'm like, almost itchy to get on the scale. And I'm trying really hard to have realistic expectations...like, I think - well, I haven't weighed in 30 days, so I must have lost 20 pounds! When I know I haven't.
However, I think the prospect of weighing in finally Monday morning will help keep some of the Halloween candy cravings at bay.
Yay Rachel!!!! I have been hovering between 157 and 159. I hope these workouts help me to break through to lower numbers. I'm still weighing weekly has it helps be stay on track with my eating, but I'm only going to measure at the beginning of each phase.
I completed week 1, rested yesterday and was back at this morning. Kenpo really kicked my butt. When I got out of bed yesterday morning, the first words out of my mouth were "Oh.My.God" I was soooo sore.
Jenn, I've had quite a few of those mornings!!! And afternoons, and evenings...
I'll never forget the first week I was doing the program and my abs were miserably sore. My office mate was telling a hilarious story about the night before and I was begging her to stop because it hurt so, so bad to laugh - but that made us laugh harder. It was ridiculous. But it's a good feeling!!!
