Ang- How is your son and how did the interview go?

Mama- How are you liking your BodyMedia arm band? Does it track calories burned?

Newme- My scale at home is also slightly crazy. If I move it over by an inch- it will say I’ve gained or last two pounds. Silly. Although this morning it kept giving me the same number. So that must be a good sign.

Susie- 8.4 pounds?! FANTASTIC!! Keep up the great work! Are you following any particular plan?

I love it. I am sooooo much more focused on what I'm eating and how much I'm moving when I use it. I bought one in April 2010 and wore it faithfully for about 6 months. I was actively losing weight. It was one of the many things I discontinued when I lost my focus. I absolutely think it is worth the money and they have come down in price a lot. I got a new one through drugstore.com and it was only $109. If you decide you want one be sure to do an online search for coupon codes and to find the best deal.

I think the information it provides is priceless. It tracks calories burned, steps taken, minutes of activity and hours slept. You have to have an online subscription to track your info (and you can input and track your food), but it's only $7 a month and you get the first 3 months free with purchase. I learned that I burn fewer calories than the "average" for my age, weight, activity level. It's a great motivator and so worth it.

January WI:

02: TOM
03: 243.2 - TOM
04: 244.2 - TOM
05: 242.8
06: 241.8
07: 242
08: 242.6 (pizza with the boys last night )
09: 243.6 (going the wrong direction)
10: 246.6 (Sodium)
11: 243.8

I did really good yesterday (except according to my food tracker I had too much sodium again). I stayed within my calorie range and even did 30 minutes of Just Dance. It's been a long time since I even attempted to exercise so that's good. Being accountable makes a world of difference. I need to never leave 3FC again!

My new blender is supposed to come today. I'm really looking forward to that. There will be some serious smoothie making happening in my house!

I hope everyone has a good day. It's Friday!

Lunar: he acts like nothing happened, he's still digging in his ears and he can clearly hear better, but from all appearances, he's feeling great. Interview went well, unfortunately I won't find anything out for 2 weeks. Thanks for asking!

Susie: I weigh everyday. I have to, otherwise its way to easy to slowly work myself completely off plan. Yeah, it goes up and down, but the ups are small and the downs are steady. I can also tell when its sodium, not enough water or hormones, by looking back at my fitday and what I've eaten. Hang in there chica!

Hope everyones doing well, we had a fast and furious start this morning, went out to feed the horses and there was an extra pony in the pasture. One of the neighbours has a bunch of shetlands and his stud got loose and in our pasture, hopefully he's to short to mount our horses, because we won't be happy with a shetland/appy or shetland/paint foal. All I ask now, is they come get it before my kids get off the bus, otherwise they may mutiny!

Lunar- No particular plan. Just calories & cutting starchy carbs
Angihas2 -Ah...the joys of large animals! Been there a couple of times. Hope there's no low spots in the pasture Believe me "Good fences make good neighbors". I guess you'll have to wait & see.

Good morning ladies! My daughter had a sleep over with one of her besties, who is on ADHD meds and I guess her mom gives them to her at bedtime, she was up and down all night, "I can't sleep without my meds"...ugh. So, its an early start around here. Baby was up at 630, looking for his daddy. DH works 5a-5p, gets home around 615, normally if the baby is awake, hubs grabs him and they hang out together while the kids get ready for school, then we hand off. It gives me an hour or so of completely alone time, to just relax without needing to be on top of everything. So, baby was looking for his dad and I was wide awake, so the three of us got to snuggle and watch Igor in bed until the older kids got up. I had thought about taking them all to the park and letting them run wild, and if we can get chores done and dressed before the storms roll in, we still might.

Today I'm 252 and that means I lost 20 pounds! I know it's not much compared to some but it's a big milestone for me and I'm proud and happy that this time I'm actually doing this and I'm not giving up

It is a lot and something for you to be very proud of. I have read research saying that if you lose 5% or 10% (can't remember the exact info. ) of your weight that you will have a significant health improvement. Keep up the great work.

Susie - congrats!! That first 20 lbs I think is the hardest mentally, we're breaking bad habits, starting new ones, our family's may be supportive or may not be. Good luck on your journey!
