scale did not budge... going to force it to this weekend. I am in high gear to get out of the 270's again. Lets do this!

erinmarie312 03-01-2013 01:41 PM

Right?!?! I lost 4 pounds in two weeks and was soooo excited! Then get my freaking period and I am up like 4 pounds!! Wtf? Ugh! So now I have been slacking this week after an intense last week. I will just have to hit it hard next week I guess. Lovely to see all the new ladies that have joined!! I will have to make an extra effort to sign in everyday :) lately I do 60 min of cardio zumba at least once a week and planning on doing Pilates once a week. Really need to get strength training in but am soo intimidated by the weight machines at gym....not to mention all the buff guys around the area....

Okay, despite being sick, I had an itty bitty mini-whoosh at the scale this morning and am at exactly 275.0...which I feel is a great way to start March 1st. I'll be participating in a couple challenge threads this month, so it feels like a good omen that I'm able to start at such a round number. I'm sure that makes me silly, but that's how I'm choosing to see it...lol. Still drinking tons of water and will be started my exercise challenge today, too. It's still low impact until I can build up stamina, but it should help me to do at least something everyday. Are any of you guys starting something new in March? (Unless, of course, you already figured out what works for you, then...full speed ahead!)

Sassy: Welcome back to the thread! I'm sure the recreational weight will come off almost as easily as it went on now that you're back. Especially once you're off TOM, if that's what you were referring to.

Dragonfly: I wouldn't feel crazy about that...it's a notable milestone! Good luck this weekend, and I hope that Monday reflects your hard work. :)

Sept2012: Good luck to you over the weekend, too. I'm right there with you, wanting to drop out of the 270's ASAP...we can do this!

ErinMarie: Just saw you posted...I think TOM is trying to kick everyone's butt this week! Just like I said to Sassy, I bet once it's gone, you'll get your 4 lbs back. Which is a great job, btw! Also, I know what you mean about the weight machines at the gym. I've been looking into strength training once I get a little stamina back, and I feel intimidated by them, as well. I feel like I'll have to research like crazy just to feel like I already kind of know what I'm going to do in there before I feel comfortable trying that out. I am shy/nervous like that anyway, though....ha.

erinmarie312 03-01-2013 01:55 PM

Thank you :) I was quite proud of myself, LOL. Luckily, there is a guy I work with that is buff and hits the gym everyday, so I asked him if he could help me with the machines sometime and he said he would so hopefully that will help break me out of my shy shell :/ strength training is so important to loosing weight fast so really want to just do it! I wanted to ask you where you found the challenges to do BTW :)

Opheliaphoenix,

OK so here it is ... my goal is to reach at least 272 on monday morning. That is a good 3 lbs over the weekend. I think I am holding onto water so I think a few tweeks and I can get there. We are at the exact same weight and similar in height. What are your plans over the weekend to get yourself reset?

Joy

Had a decent week of working out, but need to do better next week, and need to be better about staying on plan with food. Ready to step it up so that the next weigh in isn't depressing.

Dragonfly 03-01-2013 02:45 PM

I was just really excited thinking about getting know all you ladies in this post, as we move to the next post, and the next post together! Don't leave me too soon! lol

Silverfire 03-01-2013 02:48 PM

Just want to get back to 279... I was there, now I am not :( TOM should be done, so hopefully next week I will be back down there

opheliaphoenix 03-01-2013 03:29 PM

ErinMarie: I will link them below for you!

* March POINTS Challenge, which is a daily accountability challenge where you are awarded set points for doing what you need to do for the day: March 2013 Points Challenge

* March Weight Loss Challenge, which is pretty self-explanatory. You pick a mini goal weight to reach by the end of the month...I generally tend to find these kinds of threads to be more motivating than long-term goal weight threads: March Weight Loss Challenge

* The Walk To Mordor Challenge; this last one is obviously a little more genre-specific, but it is a fun, visual way to get back into exercising....I haven't technically started it yet, but I would like to soon. Lunar got me onto this one. It's basically a neat LOTR-based mileage chart: Challenge for the nerds! Walk to Mordor!

I'm also keeping track of my weights on the daily weigh-in thread for March, but even though it's not really a challenge thread, I will link that, too:

* March-ing To A New Beat ~ March Daily Weigh in Thread

Sept2012: I am definitely going to be watching my sodium intake, because I have noticed that I've been going over my limit by quite a bit, even while eating healthier foods. I always tend to retain more water weight when I go over on sodium, but I have been drinking a lot of water to help flush it out of my system. So, I'll be doing that over this weekend, as well as trying to make an effort to drink at least 16oz of water with each meal. This helps fill me up and keep me hydrated, so it's easier to not snack much during the day. I also find that drinking water helps "cleanse my palate" a bit, so foods actually end up tasting better, so I don't need to add a bunch of stuff to them to do so. That helps cut back calories a lot for me, since I am a self-proclaimed kitchen witchdoctor who will add crazy amount of stuff to things and make my own flavor concoctions....haha. Today also marks Day One of starting to take daily accountability for exercise, which has always been my downfall. Hopefully, this will help jumpstart a steadier weight loss...guess we will find out! :P

Slashnl: Hey, I think that staying on a workout plan is much harder than a food plan, so that is still great! I'll be working harder this next week on working out, so maybe I can send you some of my food plan energy and you can send me some of your workout energy, haha.

Dragonfly: The one thing I like about these weight range threads is getting to know people your size and moving down with them, almost like a team, so I know exactly what you mean! :grouphug:

Silverfire: You'll definitely get back down once TOM is out of town.

erinmarie312 03-01-2013 04:05 PM

Holy crap OpheliaPhoenix thanks!! LOL

opheliaphoenix 03-01-2013 04:37 PM

Haha, you're welcome! ;)

KittieKat 03-02-2013 09:46 AM

I hit 274 this morning bad news is I have the flu so I might gain some back when I'm better. Ugh but hope not. 21 lbs lost now - Thank you GOD I couldn't do it with out you!!!

opheliaphoenix 03-02-2013 02:46 PM

Weigh-in was 273.4 this morning, so inching ever closer to the 260s...hope I keep this downward trend going strong. I didn't get my workout in at all yesterday, so I'm disappointed about that, but I did drink over 144 oz of water, so I think that helped keep me moving.

KittieKat: Congrats on hitting 274 and 21 pounds down! That's great. Hope you feel better soon and that the flu doesn't sidetrack your goals too much.

erinmarie312 03-02-2013 04:05 PM

What are you doing? You are just falling down those numbers!
