I know what you mean about being valued by weight and looks.
My Mom joined a weight losing club when I was 12. I am 50 now. Weight has been a focus for her ever since. If family members are up in weight she will always find a way to put in the conversation "I wish so and so would lose weight" We have diabetes in our family and she always uses that as the REASON for her comments. Every conversation includes weight and diabetes. Now that my daughter and I are losing weight it is "well you know you may not be able to lose or keep it off". She does not think about how negative it sounds and it has followed my whole life. I just have to remember my value as a person is separate from that. I look at who I am not what I am. I am a good person who tries to do good to/for others and my looks or my weight are not how I value myself. We have to tune out those that would discourage us and look to those, like this group that give us words of encouragment.

Well guys I weighed myself today. I am down 2pds and I really should not have weighed in ubtil Monday that would have been a true week of watching my pts etc.. I am 1pd up from my initail loss. Anyway Now I am conquering the monthly hunger and thirst for that matter. I know I will get the water in but I do not know about the power to say NO to the junk. Oh well I am aware of it so hopefully I will pull through. Why do we women have to have all the burden?I did not work out today. I am resting my leg was having spasms so I may have over done it. Tomorrow I will work out. I hope you all are successful this weekend. I am going to but the book everyone seems to talking about by jillian from biggest looser.

great job ms mccoy!!!!!!! See you can do it!

Huntersmomy, i feel ya on the whole weight issue growing up. My Mom put me on my 1st diet when I was in 3rd grade and I continue to this day. I often wonder if she never did if I would have the weight problem I have now. I think it's because she had a weight problem too and hoped that if she could get me to lose weight then I wouldnt have to deal with her problems. My 6yr old daughter has been obsessed with her weight since she was 3 thanks to DH always complaining he was getting fat. you know because he gains and loses the same 10lbs without trying. Anyways, I always talk to Kiera about the fact that she is not fat and since I started ww the first time, I tell her that im not on a diet that im eating healthier and exercising to get my body healthy. Since my Mom always focused on being fat and eating. I never say anything about how unhappy I am with myself, because I dont want those thoughts imposed on her. At her last well child check up, her doctor and myself explained to her about the importance of being healty. He did an incredable job explaining to her that you can eat anything in moderation and that her focus needs to be on being healty and to exercise and it helped her alot.

i just want to say you all are doing wonderful great job on the weight losses.

I got a real boost to my confidence level today for all the hardwork with the exercise and eating habit change and it was so awesome my parents are getting me an old navy gift card for christmas and I figured while we were in town i would go in and look around see what i liked and guess what I grabbed a pair of 14 jeans and an xlarge top i figured i would have to fight the jeans up and suck it in to button them and guess what they went on like butter and the xlarge top was to big and it was one of their tiny fit tees i cant believe it im realy tickeled with this.

anna ,
i think you are doing a great job with your daughter thank goodness the chain doesnt carry on I know i will definitely not make weight an issue with my lil guy growing up i know we know you know how terribly painful it is to grow up that way.

I just want to say again ladies you are doing fabulous you are all an inspiration

Huntermommy you are awesome, gosh you go girl. You have lost a lot of weight. How long has it taken you? Do you have alot of bad days.? Are you doing core or pts or what.?You are an inspiration..... all of you who have shown this can be done. WHOOHOO* I was doing so good up until yesterday. The monthly curse is here and I can not say NO to salty or junk food. I tried, I did better but still not great.I need to lose 40 pds. I have only lost 4pds up 1. I really want to get back into my 14 . I was on sb and lost 16 pds 2 years ago but had some health issues and put it all back on. Than my husband was transfered to another state for work. He went for a year before we moved and I held down the fort here at home, by myself. Well I tried to lose and I did but when summer came I could no longer work out and the kids were home, and I had to get ready to move , the stress kicked in. I gained15pds in 3months.I also have a thyroid problem so I know I will have slow loses. But you are awesome, way to go.
