Good morning guys!

Angie about the weights, I think you should go up on the amount that you lift and do 3 stes of 12-15 each. You want to be tired by the time you hit 15. What sucks is that you can't spot reduce so you are going to need to tone up all over not just in your legs. I know it sucks to hear that but it is unfourtunatly true.

Noelle do you really think the insurance company would make the guy put his dog down if they have to pay for the claim? Do you and Jacks live on the same island?

Cherie you go girl! You are just a workout machine. I relly need to follow your lead and get back into the groove. I seemed ot have lost it again. I told my hubby thought that I want to break down and buy a scale. Maybe if it is in my bathroom I will be a little more careful what I am doing.

We are going to another DU banquet tonight. This one is in another parish though. We went to see what the do at theirs that is different from ours. This should be fun, being able to sit back and enjoy it instead of having to work it.

What should I be using for a weight? The butterfly one does hurt(I am a wimp. ) I have never understood lifting so what is a rep? Do I do 15 and then move to another thing and come back and do another 15 or what? I am so clueless.

When we had to go through Rebel's bite I checked my homeowners insurance and they said if they had to pay out a claim then they would pay the claim but the dog had to be euthanized. Sad huh? Especially when they came into my house while noone was inside but the dog(after I said stay out of the house because Rebel is in there)I would have went bankrupt to pay any claim myself before I would let anyone kill my baby.

Your banquet tonight sounds a little more realxing for you two. Have fun.

Sorry Angie, when you sit on the bench and lift your legs that is called a leg extension. I would increase the weight to 35 since you are doing 30 for 60 reps(times). When you do your 12-15 wait for about 30 sec. to 1 min and then do another 12-15. Repeat this 3 times. If you are not feeling this in your legs increase the weight by about 5 lbs. When you lay down on the bench that is called leg curls. (this works your hamstrings) follow the same rules as above. I would start out at 20 lbs instead of 15. Did that help a little? I forget that I have been doing this for over 10 years and that not eveyone knows what I am talking about.

Thanks. Now I get it. I tried to increase the weights a minute ago and I do feel it better. Maybe I can build a little muscle and it will help burn calories quicker, right? I have to start doing crunches because i need to build up my stomach muscles before I can do a tummy tuck. I guess it helps to have muscles there for the surgery. Thanks you are the best!!

I have found that muscle and fitness hers is a really good weight training mag. I pull out all of the different exercises that they have each month and keep them in a binder so that I can look to see if there are any news ones that I can try once I am tired of doing to same thing over and over. You really need to change up your routine ever 6 weeks, at least a little bit. They even have a section of things that you can do at home if you don't have all of the right stuff for the exercises. Just be careful not to read the articals for weight lose pills. They are just big advertisements. I found that out after I wasted my time reading it and at the end they were trying to push a certain product. I guess if the advertiser pays them enough they have to do it that way. Sneaky!

I just did some tummy crunches and my cat decided that my stomach would make a nice comfy place to lay down so here I am with a fluffy himalayan sleeping on my stomach while I am trying to work out. It was too cute because he sleeps with his tongue out so I had to laugh.

Angie Ehco like to try to lay on me when I get down on the floor too. I guess she figures that I am down on her turf so he is going to take advantage of it. They are cute arent they.

Echo looks like a big cuddler. Does she sleep in bed with you guys too? Rebel has to be in between us using our pillows and he likes to be covered up during the winter. Candi sleeps behind the toilet in my master bath. This way she is close but she is cooler. She pants alot with all of her fur. During the winter she likes to lay on the deck and look in the sliding doors at while we watch tv.

She likes to be in the bed when we let her. She is so big though it is uncomfortable. That is funny about Cappie. When it is cold outside I have to push the cats out of the door. They hate it. Did you get that cat e-mail I sent you?

If I look good in my outfit for tonight I will get Joe to take a pic of me for you guys. I think I am going to wear a skirt. That in and of itself is a strange thing.

Hey everyone! Boy, you have been busy posting since I have been gone! I probably can't catch up with all personal messages, but, will do my best. I have been doing really bad with food this week, and it is TOM. Our family life has just been really stressful lately. I bought a new WATP tape, it's the 4 mile express, and have been doing it once a day, and later the 2 mile if I have it in me. I am hoping to get back on track by Monday.

Angie,

Beautiful pictures! You are very pretty. The fall colors are amazing! Great job on the weight loss. I need a kick in the pants to get myself back in gear. I too wish I could have a tummy tuck, after having 3 kids I have the pouch as well, ick. I read somewhere that if you don't tone up muscles while losing weight (crunches, etc.), and have that skin, it can be toned up, but, will take 6 months of training. Maybe Kempy knows something about this?

Cherie,

Great job on breaking 140!

Kempy,

Wow! $1,000 for taxes, ouch, I hope you can fix that! I would cry. I have to watch my sodium intake as well. I never had to before because I had low blood pressure, but, my latest bp was 140/80, which is REALLY high for me. Might explain why my rings are so tight!

Hi to Noelle, Julie, Dips, Jack (and welcome ), everyone else!

Holly

Kempy, The cat thing was so true!! I think my cats do all of that and then some.

Holly, There is no toning up my skin. I have so much of it that you can tell even with jeans on. That is why I dont get pics of my lower stomach, it is such a wreck. My sis needs an operation next month and she may have to have the full incision instead of the little ones. I am interested to see how she does if she has to have the big incision, she can tell me how badly it hurts and then I can assume how bad a tummy tuck would feel. I hope your stresses leave soon. I know how hard it is to be concerned with dieting when you have other things to worry about. We are here for you.

Hey everyone My days just seem to get more hectic. I feel like I'm a "runner" for Rick...he 'forgets' a saw, or drain cleaning cable, I bring it to him. Today it's an estimate that was supposed to get out "yesterday" and a stop at the plumbing supply house for parts. The good thing is that I can leave my office whenever I want. The bad thing is that I can leave my office whenever I want. He always seems to need something when I actually try to sit down and do some work! On the plus side though, I usually incorporate a trip to the mall or some nearby store after I'm done with the delivery. You know, I would love to hire someone to do this office work, then I could jump in a company truck and just drive and deliver parts and tools and make pick-ups and stuff...just drive and not have to do paperwork . Yeah right! Think I'll hit Ross' Dress for Less on my way back.

Kempy, thanks for the info. I guess I should start getting in on the weight lifting workouts too. Ricks weight bench setup is collecting dust outside. I don't exactly know how to change all the pins and stuff to utilize the different parts of the equipment and I'm afraid I'll break something (like my nails--just kidding!) . I'll have to get him to teach me. Have fun at the banquet! Yes, Jacks and I live on the same island. We could probably very easily meet one another if we wanted--doesn't take more than 24-45 minutes w/out traffic to get anywhere here on this rock.

Angie, what can I say girl? You're inspiring me with your weight workout. I remember my cat would sleep on my treadmill and would give me a "stink eye" when I would want to use it . As for Kai, he's healed really well. I don't know how long it'll take for his other veins to enlarge to compensate for the one that got sealed off. He barks his head off like crazy if he hears a strange dog come around our house--I think he's worse than before. That sucks too because we were just getting him to the point of normalcy on a walk. *sigh* We've been bringing Selena, my mom's chihuahua-terrier mix on our walks. She's our "protector and all of 7 lbs .

Holly, how ya doin'? WATP seems to be a good workout--you can get your miles in without taking up too much time. Hope things start calming down for you. You can get back on that wagon, we're all rooting for you.

Cheri great job on hitting the 130's!!! WooHoo
How was your training today?

Well, got to get my checks cut then I can goof off some more...

**I just got a call from the insurance company and the lady said they approved the claim for payment!!! We should get a check from the corporate office in Illinois within 2 weeks, just in time for our trip! Yahoo!!! $1200 coming back.

Hello to everyone else!

Aloha girls!

Hope everyone's day is going well. As for mine - well, the stack of work piled up on my desk hasn't gone down since this morning. Pretty depressing actually. I keep getting sidetracked - checking emails, conversations with other people. It's frustrating. I can't seem to get focused. Hopefully tomorrow will be a more productive day.

Noelle - I always say *wow* everytime I pass by the commissary on the freeway. I've been on the bases on the mainland and the AFB here in Honolulu, but I haven't been to the commisary/navy exchange yet. Have to wait till my grandparents come back - my grandpa's a retired navy captain.

Cherie - Much congrats on breaking 140!

Angie/Kempy - I have a bunny that totally acts like a cat and a dog. He lays by me when I'm doing my crunches and starts to sniff my face. Then he starts jumping over me back and forth. He thinks it's a game.

Aloha Holly! Keep your spirits up!

Well - better be getting back to work. REALLY need to get back to being productive. The weekend is WAY to near!!!

Default Phew... Girls are finally in bed..

Dishes are done, laundry is in the washer and dryer, the toys are picked up, living room is straightened, now all I need ot do is my ellipitcal workout and I will be done for the night!

Jacks... I has Six Sigma training today, so all the work that was there stayed there, and more came in as I was away from my desk. I have two payrolls running on Monday and Tuesday.. so tomorrow will be crunch time for me!

Noelle, congrats on getting the Insurance to pay... Poor Kai though... having to go through all that. I hear you on the weight stuff. There are a few machines in my fitness room, but I don't know exactly how to use them to utilize them the best way. I guess I need to hit my neighbor up downstairs to come and show me.

Holly... great going on the WOTP tapes!!! You are doing a wonderful job!

Kempy I hope you had fun at the banquet tonight... Can't wait to see pictures!!! Hope you took some!

Angie... great job on starting with the strength training.. I really need to do that.. just haven't gotten around to it.

Ok everyone.. I am going to go do my last workout.. I will see you lovely ladies in the morning!

Cherie

Goodevening everyone

Cherie doesn't it just feel great when the house is tidy and picked up? I need to get cracking on this place. Cherie I give you credit for doing so well working out. I just wish I could keep my motivation to excercise up! But on a postivie not I have been low carbing since Sunday after my Saturday night splurge. And I can feel my clothes getting baggy. I have not purchased the South Beach Diet book. But I kind of am just trying to keep my carbs low for two weeks like the book says. It actually has not been as hard as I thought. I week though I am going to reward myself with a little candy bar for Halloween .

Kempy hope you had a great time tonight. I also hope you can put some pics up.

Noelle that must be kind of nice to get out of the office and get some fresh air at work.

Angie good job getting some crunches in today. I did a couple of those and some leg lifts.

Jacks hope you have a better day tomorrow !

Holly hope family life gets a little easier for ya...life is just so hard sometimes. Hang in there.

Well guys my tummy is a little upset...I think it is from my vitamin...I don't think I had enough food in my stomach when I took it. So Goodnight and talk tomorrow. Julie
