Default @ss kickin' as requested

***BU(shoe)TT*** Get it? Shoe-in-butt? Well anyway...at least you got the walk in! It would've been worse if you'd eaten the cookies and not moved at all.

Kempy hope you can get that together time w/Joe and your girls. I bought a big bag of candy I don't particularly like (tootsie rolls, dots, and other kinds of weird waxy cr@p) so I won't be tempted. I know my dad will go to the comissary and buy the good stuff like snickers or reeses...I'm gonna bag the candy into little snack size ziplocs so I can just toss them into the trick or treaters bags when they come instead of handing it out by handful.

I don't know if this helps at all, but I've been taking those Viactiv calcium chews--2 chews per day gives you 1000 mg of calcium, and they taste like candy. I pretend I'm eating a caramel candy twice a day. Well, it's not really pretending because I'm actually eating a caramel...I've found that by getting my calcium this way, it's actually helped with my aching joints (or so i think). They come in chocolate, orange cream, strawberry cream and even mint chocolate I think. We women need our calcium and if you don't eat all the right foods, what better way to get it in than by eating a piece of "candy"?

Angie what's your recipe for no-bake cookies? I make one with cocoa powder, sugar, butter and oatmeal. These turn out really sticky and gooey and yummy and I just love that dark chocolate flavor. Are yours similar?

Man I had sushi for lunch and I'm falling asleep now

I just had to come back and post this weird phone call I had with the guy who owns the pit bull that attacked Kai. I'll call him "Chuck" (as in up-chuck ). My cell phone rings this morning and it's Chuck telling me that he's calling about the letter I sent him. (We've already gotten paid by the insurance company so I'm thinking why are you calling me?) I say OK, how can I help you? He says, well the court date is tomorrow and I'll probably see you there so I was wondering if I can pay you then or make arrangements to pay you tomorrow? (Me, puzzled as ever ) Then I say, we already received a check covering the invoices from the insurance company so as far as we're concerned the matter of payment is resolved. He says, oh, I didn't know that. THen I tell him that I never got supoenaed for court and I checked with the animal control officer who said he never got supoenaed either, so we will not be in court tomorrow...

Then Chuck says, OK, so you got paid? I say yeah. THEN he says, "You guys need plumbers?" I said "excuse me?" (I thought he was asking FOR a plumber). He said, are you guys hiring plumbers? I was speechless for a moment, then I said "we're not hiring at present" Then I ask him "what skills do you have?" (besides being a couch-warming drunk?) He says he worked for *rattles off the names of a few different companies*, and that he is a plumber! WTF? He's asking ME for a job? BWAAAAHAAAHAHAAAHAAAHAAA So I try to contain myself and just say politely, thanks but no thanks. Then he has the cojones to say "well, keep me in mind the next time you guys are looking".... Yeah right, like I'd ever consider that! WEIRD!!!

Wow am I the first one here this morning?

I am sitting in my office freezing right now. It is 59 outside and the crazy man that runs this place has the AC on in the offices. BRRRRR.

We have another DU meeting tonight for a banquet that we are having Sunday night. There is plantation house here that just built up to have a golf course around it and Daid Toms (10th in the world) helped design it so they are going to have a big tournament on Monday. They are going to have a dinner the night before for all of the players and since David Toms is realy into DU we get to sponsor it and sell all of our stuff. It is just another way to help boost sales for our chapter.

We didn't get the stupid walk in last night. Joe had to run over to his dads and I couldn't get him home before it got dark. Oh well, maybe another night.

Noelle that is the weirdest phone call. Do you think the guy was drunk while he was on the phone with you? I wonder if he was going to court for something completly different. Strange.

Thanks for the *** kicking Noelle!! Wierd phone call. If he is unemployed how did he think he is going to pay you? I would have thought he would have gotten a call from his insurance company. Is he more than just a drunk?

Maine is under a flood watch today. We are going to get 2 more inches of rain today and the rivers are already at the tops of their banks from the last few days. We have got some strange weather.

Kempy, That is too bad that you didnt get in your walk last night. I love to walk it is so relaxing.(almost like not working out) Maybe tonight.

Noelle, GET SOME SLEEP!!!!

Default Good Morning!

Hey there everyone.... it's Wednesday. I think! Sorry I didn't check in last night, but I couldn't get my girls into bed fast enough.. and I followed them shortly afterwards. I was in bed by 8:30 PM. And I CRASHED. I am wishing I were still in my bed right now, because that would be so nice!

Yesterday was my first day to try to get back on track. Not there 100%, but I did try to eat better, just cheated a LITTLE.... and I ran 5 miles. This morning, I skipped my pilates video, so I need to start tomorrow with that first thing in the mornings again. I've got my stuff here to run this afternoon, so I know I will at least get that in.

Noelle, I have all the stuff at home to make the no bake cookies too. I would sit there and gorge myself if I would actually make them. I LOVE chocolate and peanut butter together... and with oatmeal???? Oh man..... better start thinking of someting else. I have tried taking those chews for calcium, but they make me gag.... so I stick with my Cal-Trate pills everyday.

Angie.. wtg on the 4.5 miles!!!!!! and send over some of those cookies to me! hahaha.. they sound like the PERFECT breakfast!!!! With a big huge glass of milk! YUM!

Kempy I hope you and Joe got to go walking. This time change has screwed me up too... but hopefully I will get used to it. That is proably why I went to bed so early last night.

Hi Julie!

Ok... Work has interferred with my post.... so I need to go work on an audit.. will be back later!

:-(

Smile NO BAKE COOKIES

I use 2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup skim milk(gotta keep it lowfat )
4 tablespoons of cocoa
1 stick of lowfat butter(again must stay lowfat )

Boil for 1 minute and then add:
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups of oatmeal

scoop onto waxed paper and eat.

Cherie, I am so ashamed to admit this but that is what I had for breakfast. I will get my groove back by Sunday I promise.

Wow Angie those sounds great. They can't be to bad, they oatmeal in them right ? I hope you do not get to much rain today. Weather is strange sometimes. I feel so bad for all the people in California who lost their homes. That is just terrible what they are going through.

Noelle it is so hard when the little ones keep you up at night. Hopefully you got some more rest this morning. Wierd call btw.

Kempy don't you just hate how it gets dark early. I just feel like going to bed after supper! I thought of you the other night when I was watching foodtv. They were making gumbo. I never had it. Do you make it?

Hello Cherie.

I am trying to eat better today. Check in later guys. Julie

Aloha Girls!!! Sorry I've been MIA for the past few days. Had a hard weekend. Kelly got sick and then I got sick after the Race for the Cure. The race was really fun. There were soooooo many people!!! Actually, because he was sick, we were kind of late. Don't ask why we still went. We ended up cutting in at the end of mile one and then walked the rest (didn't want to run because Kel was sick). We made it in at 43:10 - but I guess add another 20-25 mintutes to that for the one mile that we missed. To make a long story short, we got home, showered, changed and started to do some errands when I started to feel lousy. We went home, and by that night, I had a fever. Monday came, I felt like I was going to die, but I had to get into the office because I had an 8:30 teleconference. I dragged myself through that and several other meetings while overdosing on Vitamin C, orange juice, Dayquil, and Advil Flu & Cold. I got home and Kel told me he went to the doctor and he had an ear infection and on the verge of pneumonia. I decided to stick it through and not go to the doctor and took tons of medication and vitamin C. The next morning I felt A LOT better, but had a Board of Directors meeting. SO - here I am now...feeling much better and wanting to eat those cookies that Angie put the recipe on. As for diet and exercise, haven't done much of both. Hope everyone is doing better than I am. Happy Wednesday to everyone - Halloween just around the corner....BOO!!!!

Hello again. I did get to sleep another 2 hours so I'm doing okay right now. I may just take a quick nap after lunch , then my afternoon will be spent picking up fundraiser pizzas and cinnamon breads. It feels like I'm giving all my money away to my son's school. First tuition, fundraisers, extracurricular tumbling class, X-mas tree sale...what next? As far as the weird phone call, I don't think the guy was drunk--but I do think he's not all there... Yup, that was a weird one.

Angie, your recipe sounds better than mine. Mine didn't have the peanut butter in it--but it will the next time! I like your lowfat ingredients . *sigh* I also like to put raisins in it to give it that raisinette feel. Hope the weather cooperates and the rain stops. Stay dry.

Julie, it is sad and very unfortunate about the wildfires in CA. It's caused so much senseless destruction and loss of life, it kind of unreal! You can do the good eating thing today, I know you can.
I've made gumbo before and it doesn't even have to be seafood. You can use chicken or even andouille sausage--both taste great.
Here's a link (hope it works) to a bunch of recipes, there's even one for a lowfat seafood one. http://ww4.bhg.com/home/Gumbo-Recipes.html

Jacks glad to see you've returned. You must be sick if you forced yourself to go to work while being sick. I hope the job pays you well, either that or you just *gasp* love your job ? Take care of yourself and Kel and get better for the weekend.

Kempy, 59 is a bit cool eh? Good luck with your DU fundraiser stuff. How are your beautiful blonde doggies?

Cherie, a 5 mile run is nothing to sneeze at. You rule!

Well, gotta go for now. See ya.

Me and Brittany decided to go for a walk this afternoon because there was a break in the rain. By the time we got headed down the street it started to pour. We did 1.5 miles in the pouring rain and were totally soaked when we got home but it was fun.. It is so nice and warm out even though it has been rainy and dark.

I was watching the news tonight and a guy tried to abduct a 10 year old girl in my hometown yesterday. That is about 25 miles from my house now. Scary! They are still trying to find him. Thanksfully the girl ran to a neighbors to get away.We had a guy get shot to death about 5 minutes from my house at the beginning of the month too. We are in a rural area so it is a little unnerving.

I cant believe how bad the wildfires got. I would definately leave my house. I dont get why people say they need to stay with their house. As long as I have my kids and pets I wouldnt worry too much about my house. I hope they can get it under control soon. Just think of all the wild animals that have died. I saw on the world news yesterday a fireman hosing down a bunny.

Hey girls

Noelle thanks for the link! I think my husband would really enjoy the gumbo.

Jacks take care of you and Kelly. I just hate cold and flu season!

Angie I have not gotten caught walking in a down pour in awhile. Its like hurry up and get home if it is sprinkling but just have fun while its downpouring!

Well I made eggsalad sandwiches tonight for supper. They were good. Not to much else to report tonight. Just want to relax and watch my show the Bachelor. Does anyone else watch besides Cherie? Its kinda goofy I know but I like it ...Bye for now

Default Good Morning!

I think I have finally broken out of that BLAH mood I've been in. It just took a little more sleep and rest yesterday. I tried to go work out yesterday afternoon, and didn't even finish a mile, and decided to give it up and rest. I was in bed again early... (Julie, after the Bachelor of course! :-) I think Mary get's the ax next week.. she is just TOOOOOOOO serious, and I predict a Kelly Jo win! ) I ate bad yesterday..... so for the past week and a half, I have slowly fallen off the wagon. It is WAY to easy to do that... so this morning, I am re committed. I am going to adjust my weight back to 139.50, cause that is where I am.... and start eating clean again and see if it will make me feel better and not so sluggish.

I won't be making my 9 pound weight loss goal this month.. right now, I am hoping that I can get back down to 138.00. But we shall see! :-)

I've already done my pilates this morning, and had breakfast.. so off to a good start! Drinking my water too!

I hope everyone has a great day! I will check back in later!

Cherie

What strandge weather! Yesterday it poured all day and today is sunny and nice. The river at the end of my road is up to the banks. The boat landing only has 1 step now.(there was like 10 showing before). I got in a 3 mile walk first thing and I may make Brit go with me this afternoon.

Cherie, I know it is so easy to fall off the wagon. I have been off it all week.

Julie, I love egg salad sandwiches. I have to put Humpty Dumpty BBQ chips(a local potato chip. They are the best) in my sandwich.

Jacks, I hope you and Kelly are feeling better today.

Kempy, Did you get your walk in?
