After a two week stall I dropped 2.8 pounds this week. I'm down to 205.2. Six more pounds and I'm in Onederland. I just need to keep working hard.

Jasmine31 I walk a minimum of 11,000 steps/day. I don't average days so when I go past that number, great but it doesn't affect the next day. I had recently upped my steps to 12,000 but I don't know, my body just wasn't feeling it. Weird because I certainly average well over that but I guess using that for a minimum number put me just over where my body wants to be right now. I love walking, though! It's gotten me active, and I'm realizing it's important "me" time. I see you're using minutes to measure walking- how many do you do? I like to hear how other people use walking to lose weight.

This will be a quiet weekend for me. Lots of walking, reading. Some house cleaning My fridge is pretty much empty so if I'm going to resist the lure of takeout, I'll need to walk to the store in a bit. I'm still thinking about what to buy, though. I think I'll look around for a healthy recipe to get excited about. I have a couple social things next week so I need to eat well now to see 206 soon.
That sounds great! You are doing awesome!

What I tell myself is to aim for an average of 80 minutes per day. If I can go longer, then great, I add all minutes to my total.

I add all minutes up at the end of the month then I divide by however many days to get an average.

So say 1 day was 80, I was 120, 1 was 60.
= 260 minutes
Divide 260 minutes by 3 days = 86.66 minute average

I don't count time spent at stores.

So like if I walk to costco, 1 hour and 15 minutes, I may spend 2 hours there, but I dont count any of that time once I am there.

So average day is 85 minutes. But there are a few days that may be 2 hours and 20 minutes. Another day may be 60 minutes. I try to never go under 60 though.

I try not to purporsefully go over 90, cause my feet may really hurt the next day if I do 2 1/2 hours the day before.

Yes I really love my walks too. Sometimes the kids come with me if they are not in school.

You can do it!

This summer we have been doing alot of marinated grilled chicken breast. Yummy!

Checking in again (weekends can be tough!). I'm feeling very hungry this weekend. I resisted the temptation to stop for something quick on my walk to the store yesterday. I couldn't get the idea of pizza out of my mind so I decided to make my own. I was especially proud of taking a bunch of cherry tomatoes and stewing them with garlic, olive oil, and seasoning to make a great pizza sauce. Altogether, it was not the healthiest of meals but I could have done much worse!
That sounds great. I usually make home made pizza 1-2 x a month. I make the dough from scratch, sometimes I will use store bought sauce, sometimes I will get a can of crushed tomatoes and make a chunky sauce from that.

I just make sure I calorie count.

Quote:
I'm still feeling hungry, though. I had a smoothie for breakfast, and it's just not doing the trick. I have veggies I want to make sure to use so I'm going to focus on that today. I have potatoes roasting at the moment to use in a salad for lunch. And I'll use my extra tomatoes in something couscous based for dinner. I want to eat my meals at home the next few days because:
Make sure you get plenty of protein and fiber.

It will help keep you fuller longer.

WTG! You can do it!!!

I am really struggling today. I wrote before that I just felt so hungry this weekend, and the same was true today. I don't know what's driving it- am I truly hungry? Do I need a "break" from how I've been eating? Is it TOM soon? Is it emotional/fueled by stress? That strange feeling of fear about losing this weight? Or ALL OF THE ABOVE?
I dont know what all your eating so please dont feel I am making any judgements. Also make sure you are eating enough calories. Sometimes if people restrict too much they wind up binging.

I find for me to avoid most processed foods and eat more whole foods seems to help me with hunger. More whole foods, protein and fiber, etc.

High fructose corn syrup turns on the hunger button for me. That and extremely cheap processed foods like hotdogs, etc.

Right now I am averaging 1717 calories daily all month. I am feeling full. My walking is also at an average right now of 1714 calories.

I was doing 1800 calories and adjusted downward.

The past few months I have been losing about 5 1/2 lbs per month.

Quote:
But today is better. I went to the farmer's market and got some food for the next couple days. I'm excited to make a veggie/feta/dill pasta salad for lunch today.
That sounds yummy! How did it turn out?

lizsp88

Welcome to the group. You are so close you can do it!

100 lbs since April, what plan are you on?

Well done!!!

Okay, well after a crazy month, I have FINALLY arrived today at.......

199.6!!!!

Whoohooo!!

I am really excited!!

I am in onederland once again, but this time I plan on staying in it! haha

I am looking forward to getting down to 174, hopefully by Mid December in time for my birthday.

Next year, hopefully 150-145-135???

Not sure yet. I will see when I get there. I would love to get to 135. But I know I want to get to at least 144.

I don't want to go crazy over it though.

My goal is to get to a much better safe healthy weight and then to maintain.

Ohh ohh mee too! I want a "1" so badly. I've been in the 200's for 2 decades. Funny when I was in the 100's (say 175) I thought then I was huge. Hopefully I won't think like that then. But old habits die hard. I was at a plateau between 216 and 211 F.O.R.E.V.E.R it seemed. Now I'm moving downwards again. I hope in 2 weeks time I will be onederlanding it lol

Jasmine31 1. Congratulations on 199!!!!!!!! Awesome, awesome, awesome. You clearly work so hard, it's nice to see you achieve your goals! 2. Thank you for sharing your walking plan. I love to hear about walking plans, and my friends IRL are like, at this point, stop talking about walking! 3. No judgement taken. I'm not counting calories, though when I did (a couple years ago), I always stayed around 1600. In the back of my mind, I try to aim my portions/meals similarly as when I did 1600. I'm sure I go way over that as I don't restrict in the same way as when I was properly counting. I'm still figuring out what really fuels me throughout the day. I'm getting there!

cheddahcat You're so close! Congrats on your weight loss so far!

I'm feeling pretty good despite no downward change in weight. The ravenous feelings of last week are gone, though no TOM (I'm very irregular, unfortunately). I'm back on track food-wise and feeling great about it. I grilled with a friend yesterday and had no problem taking just smaller portions. No cravings, no thoughts about MORE.

After a few days of letting my walking slide, I'm also back on track with that. I've exceeded 11,000 steps the last couple days and went geocaching this weekend. So fun and I see a lot of that in my future. Great way to get moving.

This week the goal is to simultaneously take it easy and be productive. I'm moving out-of-state soon, and there's so much to take care of for it. There will be a lot of changes in my life; I need to continue to make myself a priority through these changes. For now, I'll just focus on this week This week: lots of water, fish twice. Totally doable.

Hello everyone,

I've not posted in a few days now. I seem to be STUCK at 215-216. I have been at this weight since the beginning of July. I am trying to hang in there but it's starting to get a little frustrating or should I say a LOT frustrating! I made a few adjustments to my plan and I'm hoping that will help. I am following the Weight Watchers plan and fruits are 0 Points. I have been eating a ton of fresh fruit so over the weekend, I started tracking my calories to be sure I'm not eating too much. I did take measurements in my waist this morning and I am down 1 inch since last Monday. For the past few weeks, I've been doing the FIRM workouts but today I am going to start back walking. I was hoping to make onederland by labor day but that isn't going to happen.

Worththeeffort - Congrats on breaking your stall.

Jasmine - Congrats on reaching 199

cheddahcat - You'll be there before you know it. When I was 160 I thought I was fat. Never in my dreams did I think I'd reach 230 something.

Scout83 - You're sooo close too. Keep it going.

Have a great evening everyone.

1.)Thank you!!

2.) Your welcome. Yes its hard when you dont have like minded people around.

3.) 1600 is a good #. Yes it is a learning process of what works and what doesn't.

What is geocaching?

I was so, so nervous but I'm so happy I got on the scale this morning! Last weight-in about a week ago was 204.6, and this weigh-in was 202.6! Hopefully I can celebrate being in Onederland really soon. Keep up the good work guys!

Good morning all,

Jasmine - Congrats on fitting in 14s!!! You are doing an awesome job! I can't wait to fit my 14s

Fruitbat - Congrats on your 2 pound loss this week. Keep up the great work!

The scale finally moved down a little for me. I weighed 214.6 this morning. I was so happy not to see 215 or 216! Now I realize that I need to watch how much fruit I'm eating and I need to walk to lose. I know I won't make my onederland goal by Labor day but I hope to make it by Oct 30. I am going on a 3 day cruise on the 30th and it will be nice to reach this goal by then. In Dec I am going on a 7 day cruise and my goal is to make 189 by then. If I stay focused and committed I know I can make it.

Have a great day everyone!

Jasmine31 Geocaching is kind of like a treasure hunt. You get the GPS coordinates to a cache and have to find it while not tipping off others where it is. Caches can be as small as a nail, as large as a toolbox. Or even bigger! Urban caches, though, tend to be very small so as to remain unobtrusive and not raise alarm. It's great exercise if you walk, run, or bike between caches. I'm excited to try some out on in the wilderness vs. the middle of the city. Go you with your size 14's!! Good luck with your weigh-in on the 1st!

I was so happy and relieved to get my TOM today. It helps explain a lot of the fatigue and hunger the last week and a half. Because I manage depression, it's sometimes tough to differentiate between depression or something purely physical.

Today was a good day. I had a glass of carrot juice and oatmeal with peanut butter for breakfast. Tuna/cabbage salad for lunch. I think I'm just going to make a quick tuna sandwich with feta before I head out for a walk.

Checking in. The scale was flirting with 206 this morning but settled on 207.

I was over at a friend's house last week and used her mechanical scale (vs. my digital), and it put me under 200! I immediately googled it, of course, and found that mechanical scales are generally off by a few pounds. But it was fun to see! Now to get there for real...

Breakfast today was carrot juice and oatmeal w/peanut butter again. I went to the farmer's market yesterday so I have lots of veggies to use up. I'm undecided on lunch- I was thinking of roasting green beans and then mixing it with some feta and sliced almonds. Not sure. Anyway, I'm going to do things that need doing and go out for a long walk in the evening.

Your doing great. Not sure if you were the one doing weight watchers, but be careful with the fruit. Some items are 100 calories each. Part of a good healthy diet, yes. But not "free".

You can do it! And yes walking will be great.

Feta and sliced almonds sound good!

That scale may be off. You'll be there soon.

Well it is time for the big weigh in day today.

Guess who is down 5.2 lbs for July? Me!

Yeah!!! So excited!!

I started July 1st at 202.4 lbs. Ended up this a.m. at 197.2 lbs. Yes of course there is always the wish to lose a bit more, but considering the crazy month. I am really happy I am at 5.2 lbs gone!

I did average 1700 calories per day and my walking minute average came in at 82 minutes per day.

Hooray!!

I am excited!!

I started Feb 1st at 233.2 lbs, August 1st is 197.2 lbs. That is 36 lbs gone in 6 months since my big restart in February 2014.

Yippee!!!!

I am looking forward to losing at least another 5 lbs in August.

Good luck everyone!!
