197.4 this morning. I travel tomorrow so...we'll see what the scale says next week. Claygirl1518, I remember when you went to Cuba! But hey, you're still here! I'm just going to go with the flow. Make a couple few good choices every day and let the (figurative) chips fall where they may. I might weigh tomorrow morning before I leave to get a more accurate picture of the next week.

Claygirl1518 Do you have any state parks near you? In Chicago, I was used to walking EVERYWHERE but now I'm in a much smaller city and in a not great neighborhood to boot. So I feel your pain. There's a nice open air drug market right down the street... I try to head out to parks for hiking when possible, though it's not quite the same as having long walks incorporated into my daily life.

Have a great next few days, everyone!

Well, weighed in this morning 199.2, I'm not too disappointed though, because afterall, I'm still adjusting back and I worked out yesterday, and I'm having some weird spotting right now which usually puts my weight up too, so I don't think that's a true 199, but at least it's still in onederland!

Scout: we have one state park nearby (about 25 minutes away) I just really want to find someplace close to my home that I don't have to drive 30 minutes to get to (or pay $5 to get in). I guess I just need to keep exploring until I find something good nearby, and on days when I have more time, head to downtown greenville (30 minutes) to get on the swamp rabbit trail (fantastic paved trail that goes all the way from greenville to travelers rest, unfortunately on the opposite side of where I live *sigh*.

Back from my trip and...200.6 this morning! I expect that'll go down a bit in the next few days, just need to drink lots of water and eat normally. Funny, I indulged all day every day and my appetite just expanded. How easy it would be to fall back into those "old ways." My schedule is a bit different this week so I'm trying to fit in some extra walking to get back to feeling normal. Hope you're all well.

Scout: So true! I felt the same way on vacation. The first bad thing I eat I usually feel too full and a bit sick, and then the hunger returns and I can eat way more bad stuff, and crave it again (especially when you're eating out all the time or in a house that's not bad snack controlled...)

Unfortunately since I've been home from vacation I started at 199, then 199.2, then 200, and this morning 201.2. And I've been on plan and exercising, and drinking tons of water! The only thing I can think is that this weight gain has something to do with the weird spotting I had for 4 days after vacation and now I'm supposed to start TOM in three days. If I don't have a whoosh after TOM, I will be even more frustrated for sure. Hopefully that won't be the case and I've just had a funky month.

Just popping in to say "HI" and keep up the great work ladies. I'm still fighting for onederland and am down to 208. The weight is coming off so slow but I am determined to keep going. If I can just see 199 by the end of the year, I'll be happy. You ladies are doing great!!

Claygirl - Hang in there, the scale is bound to go down for you since you're doing all the right things.

GettinFit I hope so. I'm just having an awful day! I feel so bloated, fat, and awful. I just feel like my body is working against me, and like when I worked so hard to get back in onederland, my body has undone all the hard work I've done the last 3 months in a week. It's maddening. I was already frustrated before to get to onederland because I felt like I lost the same 4 pounds over and over again for months.

Clearly feelings of failure don't go over well for me. I just want my hard work to pay off. I don't care if it's slow weight loss, it's just the regains that drive me crazy. Hopefully in a week I'll have better news, today, it sucks.

Hey GettinFit Keep it up!

Claygirl1518 I know exactly what you mean about feeling like you're losing the same few pounds over and over. Just part of the process, I guess. Hang in there.

I weighed in at 198.8 this morning. Almost down to where I was before I left. I hope to be at a solid 197 by Halloween. As usual, who knows.

Claygirl, Is there a nearby high school with a track you could walk? That's how I started out exercising because my street has no sidewalks and people drive well over the speed limit. :/

Jesslan: unfortunately we don't, but we have a lot of bigger neighborhoods than mine close by, so I think I will drive a minute to one of those and walk there ( my neighborhood is .5 miles all the way around and it's one big hill) It is incredibly hard to not give up and go in my house going up that hill multiple times!

Weighed in this morning, 200 with TOM started, which is pretty good I guess. I also did c25k yesterday and my legs are very sore! After work today I'm going to drop by the outlet mall (they have a nike, addidas, and underarmour) I'm hoping to find some reasonable workout gear for colder climate (which I just don't have!). I can't wait to get back in onederland, I'm really over this hormonal gain!

I've been bouncing around 197-200 the last few days. Today was 197.2 We'll see if it sticks. I'm giving some thought as to what I can reasonably expect to lose through the end of the calendar year. I'd love to get under 190, that number just appeals to me. And then hopefully I'll keep dropping pounds to meet my goal. But my weight loss is pretty slow, so do I think 7 pounds will happen over the holidays? Hm. Anyway, all I need to do is keep healthy eating a focus and keep walking. So that's the plan today. I need to stop at the store for good, quick foods for a busy week. And I need to walk today. Have a good one, everyone!

198.2 this morning. TOM started Friday, and I started feeling under the weather yesterday. Not sure if it's TOM-related or if I'm coming down with something. I walked yesterday, but I didn't eat very well. Pretty rich brunch and then pizza for dinner. Only two slices of pizza but still. I wouldn't be surprised if that's related to how I started feeling in the evening. I did pick up stuff to make smoothies for the week. I stopped making them when I moved, but they were a great tool for me-- an easy, quick, tasty way to get in more fruits and veggies as well as feel proud of eating well. So I'm going to go back to that this week and will see how that goes. I've been pretty uninspired in the kitchen lately. In fact, I had a piece of fish in the fridge that I really should have made for dinner last night but because I was so blah about cooking, I had pizza instead. Back to what I know works.

Have a great week, everyone.

197.6 I have a big project tonight and am tempted to order pizza. But I know I'll feel better if I make food at home. Also, I recognize that my weight loss and maintenance is going to come from consistently healthy choices over time. Falling back into the "order out" mentality is not good for me. All righty then, even typing that out helps. Maybe this weekend, I'll go out or order in.

Scout: sounds like you're doing great! I'm not going to lie, I'm jealous. It's been a rough few weeks.

You all pretty much know the story. before vacation i was at 197.4 after vacation I came back and was 199, then spotting for 5 days, then a week later, my TOM came. during TOM i weighed in at 199. Today, after TOM has been over a couple days, I weighed in at 201.2. What in the world is going on? I've been gaining like a fiend that last month. Up 4 lbs. I was hoping to be at 193 by now, instead I have to lose the same 4 lbs AGAIN that i've lost over and over since July. I'm not happy. I started working out again after vacation, and have been doing yoga, elliptical, and c25k during the week, usually at least 3 work outs a week. From what i've read, you need to give your body a couple weeks to adjust to a new work out regime and then weight should be coming off (it's been a month, still going UP!) I don't eat back my calories I earn during exercise, I'm not eating more. I eat between 1350 and 1500 calories a day. I drink TONS of water. And I exercise! I should be losing weight. From reading past threads about this same issue, some people say the weight should be "falling off" but it isn't! What am I doing wrong? I just can't take that much longer of no progress. It's making me feel miserable like nothing I do makes any difference. It just sucks working this hard, gaining weight, and seeing others continue to lose. Advice?

Claygirl: 1. Nice pic!! 2. I don't have great advice to give. Although it seems your fluctuations are relatively small (a few pounds) so maybe give it even more time to even out. Also, you might consider posting a new thread in Weight Loss Support. I've read a few from some who have hit such a wall and those threads seem to generate a good amount of wise words and suggestions. Keep up your hard work!

I'm at 197.6 today. I got a taste this week of how busy my next few months might be so I think I'm going to join a challenge to keep weight loss on my mind. That's the danger for me at this point, to turn off the voice that guides me to healthy choices and slide back into bad habits. Feeling good, though. Have a good weekend, everyone.

Thanks scout! Apparently my body is just super into holding onto water weight and then letting it all go. In the past couple days ive gone from 201 to 197 exactly. Crazy!

I actually noticed my stomach getting drastically smaller, and then weighed, first 3 lbs lighter, then 4 today. It's around the same weight I was Oct 4th, but my 16s that were still uncomfortably tight then are a bit loose now, which is nice. I'm assuming my new exercise routine is responsible for the scale freak out, but my body feels better, so the workouts will continue!
