Haley and Quillie-I know what you mean about needing an extra day! I was doing ok, and then I lost my mind! I'm further away than ever from my goal!
Erin-Congratulations on your anniversary and your husband supporting you in your lifestyle! That was very sweet of him.
Zinkemomx2-hold on to your water!!!
Jill-I don't mind driving up to Denver for a hike! There's not much in between; so once I get the book from the library, we can plan something. Maybe next weekend.
Well, I did pretty well yesterday; mostly McDougall. I'm going to do the same again today. I applied for a job at a horse hospital so I'm sitting here hoping for a phone call. It reminds me of when I was single and waiting for a guy to call me. I keep checking the phone to make sure it's working!
Darby good job on trying to get back to Mcdougall! Looking forward to seeing you again
Tomorrow is Friday ladies, don't forget your weigh in!
I went to the gym yesterday (2 week free Bally pass-thanks to www.discoveryhealth.com) I worked out for 20 minutes, and then was with the bally lady walking around for another 20, a trainer is giving me a free appt. today and boy am I nervous!! lol
BTW our Valentines Day goal is nearing quickly, can you believe its this Saturday, came so quick! I hope you all got to your goals or close! Good luck!
On Valentine's Day we think of those
Who make our lives worthwhile,
Those gracious, friendly people who
We think of with a smile.
I am fortunate to know you,
That's why I want to say,
To a rare and special person:
Happy Valentine's Day!
I made my goal!!!!
I don't know how, it might even be secretly water loss, but I lost a pound since yesterday, making me exactly 216 lb, I feel fatter than ever though.
Now, the next goal will be very hard to make, I'll have to include... Exercise. Onederland isn't far away, and I want to go!
Tomorrow is Valentines Day, which is our first goal.. hope you all are happy with your weight's as of now, and if not you can try to kick it up a notch for St.Patricks Day! (March 17th)
My weigh in: 163.6

Yep I still plan on moving provided I can get a job. I'm working on my resume and trying to find a recruiter in Portland. My firm belongs to a network of other CPA firms and there is a firm in Portland that is also a member. That would be the easiest route however it would require talking to my Partner here and I'm not quite ready to do that. It may be delayed just due to the economy and places not hiring but still definitely my goal. I'm taking a solo trip regardless of anything else in late April/early May.
Erin - how sweet of your husband!
I'm waiting until tomorrow to weigh in for our first goal so I'll post then.
Darby-- Well Wednesday was the first day of my free 2 week Bally Fitness pass, the first day was alright, I noticed a few things I do not like about Bally.
1. There was no variety with the people there, everyone was pretty small.
2. The ellipticals are right under the tv's- so you have to strain your neck to watch while on that machine.
3. There was a bunch of tv's with all the channels the same 3 channels, 2 news, 1 sports.
4. They are all SALES people, they just want to make a sale, and pretend to actually want to help. Both days they kept me in they office for an hour talking about 'deals' to get me signed up now.
Now yesterday I had a free trainer appointment, did he ever ask what I want? What I like? What I want to achieve at the gym?
Nope.
He only wanted to do his regular routine, which was too hard for me, we bickered at each other the entire time. I let him know my goal is to look forward to going to the gym, and to start slow. I had to make him show me machines because he only wanted to do free weights, lunges, squats etc.
Now because of this trainer I'm not going back to finish my 2 week pass, and I will never pay to be a member of Bally Gym. :-)

Aw, I'm sorry Jill. That really stinks! Those big chain gyms are the worst. A long time ago (when I was still in the military) I was really fit. I lived in the gym. A friend of mine convinced me to become an aerobics instructor, which I did for a while, but I wasn't very good at it. But I decided that since I was about to get out of the Air Force, I needed to find a new career, so I got my personal trainer certification. When I went to job interviews, the first thing they all asked me (and I interviewed at several chains) how good I was at selling. I can't sell. I couldn't sell water to you if we were in the desert! But that is the main focus of these places. Needless to say, I never worked as a personal trainer.
There are good gyms out there, you just have to look for them. I love the YMCA. It's more expensive (I think I paid around $40/month) but there's a huge diversity of people from really old to really young, and every body type in between. They do have personal training packages you can buy, but they also have staff that you can make an appointment with who will work out a program for you for free. It was really great and I miss it.
wow that is very interesting! you've done so much, its really awesome! my friend that im staying with goes to the YMCA and loves it!! Im going to a class with her tomorrow "Zumba".
When I move back to Cali (March) we have a gym in the apartment complex I'll be in
jillnicole03-wow so basically bally is just like their commercials where they show nothing but pretty and skinny girls and buff guys. we don't have a bally here. i really liked planet fitness, they dont have classes or a pool though. it was very diverse there, there was an equal amount of skinny, heavy, old, young and muscular people.
