We did have a couple of pit stops and lunch in a pub........it was a good walk. We do lots of mad walks........hopefully good preparation for the running. I was feeling really intimidated by running 10 k until I played with that site and realise just how much walking I do!!!

I walk every day - I walk 5 to 7 miles (max 10) across country but I haven't tried running - I have a worry that I'd have a heart attack or stroke or something.

You little devil!!! I accidentally had chocolate biscuits today, yummy!!!

Went to the gym at lunch time, so it all balances out. I am really tired again today. I need sunshine!!!!

My mum, bless her, has found somewhere for us to stay in Melbourne when I go over, and it has a pool and a gym!!!!! And I get to take my three year old niece swimming, just how much fun will that be????

Is it home time yet?

Why did I agree to do this? I ran 4 miles this morning and I'm now off out to meet my new running buddies and do another 3 miles, but we're meeting a mile away so I guess I'll run there and back too...

Still, it will be good practice for Berlin - the day is booked off work and I've got some marathon books out of the library to read (trying to look all composed while checking them out and convincing myself she wasn't laughing at the thought )

woo hoo! New running buddies were in awe of my running ability as I ran with the fastest of them and didn't get out of breath. At the end we were discussing various races, and it seems I'm actually one of the few who would run over 3 miles (let alone 26.2 ) - there's a race in March with a 5 mile and a 5k and they're mainly opting for the 5k because 5 miles is too far. One of them even said I looked like a natural!!!

I didn't dare mention I ran 4 miles this morning and had run to the meetup point.

Once we'd finished I did indeed run home

You might need to book more than one day off!!!!!

Apparently my friends who've run marathons say you walk like the zombies from 'Night of the Living Dead' for a couple of day!! Think it's fab that you're doing it though.

I have a small YAY myself, but didn't want to hijack yesterdays thread.

Weight loss is going slowly- since I made the decision to exercise and eat healthily, I've lost 14lbs, and most of that was last summer.

However, I weighed myself on body fat monitor scales and my body fat has reduced from 39% to 24%

Think that deserves some smilies!

This is me after weighing in.

I don't have enough holidays to take more than 1 day off

I've just plotted their route on gmap. Should I tell them that they think they're doing 3 miles in half an hour and it's only 2? No wonder I felt like it was slow! I run 3.1 miles in 28 minutes usually not 2 in 30! So the total run this evening was another 4, for a total of 8 miles for the day.

It was too cold to walk home, running made it quicker
