I have located my shoes (I think), they're just not where I wanted them to be and I can only get them at the weekend. I wanted to give them a decent run in before my half next weekend, but that might not happen now

Sarah - I didn't even use a full can of chickpeas, I soaked some dried ones which I'm sure was less than a cans worth, but still ended up with mountains. Still, it was a nice treat for lunchtime to bring in some homemade houmous and celery (never thought I'd use the words celery and treat in the same sentence...)

I'm excited, I've finally got round to signing up for a veg box scheme, and I should get my first delivery next week. I've been meaning to do it for ages, not so much for the organic-ness of it, but so it forces me to be a bit more creative with trying new veg I wouldn't choose for myself. I did draw the line at mushrooms though and put them on my exclusion list (although I resisted the temptation to add broccoli).

RSG - I hate treadmills. I don't know how I used to run for an hour on them, now I struggle to get much past 30 minutes so I only really use them for short speed sessions.

Good luck Lou!

Wow YP1 - does that mean your shoes have a life of their own? Do they go out running by themsleves? When you get them see if there is a black loafer type from Evans , size 6 - can't remember if it is the left or right one but the other one is pining for his mate!

Peacock - you may joke, but someone at running club managed to lose their shoes after a run. They were changing in the car, shut the door and drove off without them, then they went back and the shoes had gone...

Sadly, mine are only misplaced thanks to Parcelforce who have told me that they can't actually get them back from where they are (which isn't where I told them to take them) so I have to go and collect them myself, which I can't do until I'm off work on Saturday.

The eBay Powersellers' name for Parcelforce is Parcelfarce...... I never, ever use them any more. Its a nightmare when the buyer works because most depots won't deliver outside of normal working hours and, more often than not, they used to just send stuff straight back to me rather than arrange re-delivery.

Just reading my new Nigella book ... trying to decide which of her chicken dishes to cook for dinner and I see that DH has been through the choccy cake section (yes, a whole chapter on chocolate cakes!) marking off which ones he wants me to bake for him. Funny how he has gone for the most complicated ones.

Has anyone else tried edamame - you get them in the frozen veg section - they are 'fresh' baby soya beans (flash frozen when just picked). Just wondering if they are worth trying??????

I have those Birds Eye soya beans - I've not cooked them myself yet but they are GORGEOUS at Yo Sushi and in Japan - I'm presuming they'll be yummy! They taste quite fresh a bit like peas, but have a bit more bite to them, if that makes sense!?

TESCO!!!! I have had a 20 minute phone call trying to sort out my stupid clubcard balance with moron #2 after moron #1 didn't do what I wanted! Eventually it's all be refunded back to our clubcard, however DH obviously has a secret clubcard registered to his 'rents address! Oh whatever you do with your clubcard points... Don't ever try using anyone else's vouchers - they torture you with morons at their call centre and then don't place your order.

Well.... there was some kind of internet scam going on where people were giving out the voucher codes and everyone was getting cheap shopping. They honoured all the orders going out the day they found out about it but after that they just cancelled all the orders. (Because they were losing a lot of dosh.) Is that what happened to you?

I shall give the edamame a try. All the talk of chickpeas this morning reminded me that I wanted to try them roasted as munchie replacement for nuts. I've tried them at someone else's house and they were I though they were going to be complicated but they're actuall dead easy - just re-hydrate overnight and slow roast for an hour turning every 10 mins - AND you can do the same to dried soya beans. I think I've had the roasted soya beans from the Chinese supermarket and they were lovely - much nicer than peanuts.

No what happened is that I tried to use the PIL's vouchers along with our vouchers to claim an offer. That sent the whole system loopy!

As for the discount codes on the internet... Well, let's just say I got a fiver off my internet shopping today

I've had roasted chick peas from a shop they were yummy, but probably quite salty. And roasted edemame from Japan, so perhaps I should try cooking then roasting them

Morning/Afternoon Ladies,

Just heard from Mum, she's back in Brandon safe and sound, albeit without one suitcase... AGAIN! She had a good flight, apparently spent most of it with three stewards in the galley having with them, even when they had turbulance, as they seated her in one of their seats and kept chatting on

She said the BA troupe at Heathrow are total morons...they've told her both cases have arrived, but they just can't find one.. it's the one with all her clothes in. She says it's no wonder they can't find anything, there are suitcases piled up all by the baggage carousels like mountains. And lines up the ying-yang for the services and complaints dept.

Yippeeeeeeeee, the plumber is coming shortly to put a new loo in. he was supposed to do it last weekend, but couldn't as they didn't have the one he needs in stock and it had to be ordered. I shall take Pen and Lew out for their walk while he's here, so as they don't keep barking and chasing him up and down the stairs while he's carrying a loo.

It's piggin' cold out, 36 degrees, but feels like 26 according to the weatherman. I shall be wrapping up and they'll be wearing their coats.

Ok, must check the never ending bloody laundry before the plumber comes...see you all later.

Heathrow baggage is supremely A lot of my friends work there and they say it's piled up everywhere! A lot of it was to do with all the fog we had just before Crimbo... You'd think they'd have sorted it out by now!

Hello everyone

I have been a bit of piggy today, the domestic at work bought back the most wonderful cake from Maderia where she comes from, a kind of gingercake with nuts in it. Very yummy and I ate crisps and choccy biscuits. Tomorrow I will get back on the right road. Oh and I had toast and Lurpak when I got in.

Glad your mum is home safe and sound Chris sodding Heathrow though.

Your hummous sounds lovely Helen I swear I could live on it. My family always moan at my garlicky breath when I eat it though. I takes no notice though.

How are you feeling Sarah did you get to the GP's and how are you CG?

My father started his radiotherapy today, he said after the six or seventh session he can expect burning when he has a wee and diahorrea. He seems in good form though.

I am off to my eldest fella's school this evening to speak about work experience that his year do in the summer.

Have a lovely evening everyone.

Michele

Hello girls just got in from St. Louis. My youngest had a check up today.

Sarah thanks for the dahl recipe. I need to find a Trader Joes next time I go to St.Louis as they have a lot of things I can't find around here. Greek yogurt I can't find and I love it. They might have some.

Peacock I'm feeling much better thank you ,still a bit uncomfortable I will see the doc on the 22nd. Sarah are you going to try and see your GP about your back?

Chris glad to hear your mum made it back safe and sound.

Michele did your dad get home, he sounds in good spirits.

Jenny - there are a lot of people here who have had amazing results without weight loss pills. After all, if you want to take the weight off and keep it off forever you need to change your whole lifestyle, there is no quick fix. I wish there was. I wish there was a spell I could say and it would take of 14lbs tomorrow! I wish popping a magic pill would somehow melt it all away, but it just isn't going to happen.

Losing weight is HARD WORK, but it's SO SO SOOOOOOO worth it! Let me see if I can find a link to a thread Meg wrote...
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58556
This isn't exactly what I was looking for, but there's some good stuff in there... I will post the actual passage I'm thinking of tomorrow - it's on my work computer.

Well I'm off to have some cuddles and some snoozing, if I'm lucky I might stay awake long enough to have a bath

I managed the gym today, which was a feat of grim determination since I would've much rather napped for an hour at lunch! If I go to sleep now though I won't snack on the chocolate macadamias DH bought for my birthday!
