Carol, you're not alone on the signature thing ... I finally gave up. Couldn't get the change in the weight loss to register without starting all over again ... and then it didn't seem to want to replace the signature that was there ... just added it! So, I'm just going to be happy with reporting it in numbers and trying to imagine the weight loss.

I love everyone's sense of humor ... we have to laugh if we're going to get through this! So, I'm happy to know there are others out there who get frustrated when they try to cross their legs!! It will be a wonderful thing to reach that goal ... and I'm in there with you all heading for it with all the gusto I can muster.

Well, I've just enjoyed a wonderful fish dinner (I'm trying to make up for eating out four times last week to celebrate my birthday!). I don't ever weigh the next day after going out ... and for three days after Chinese (the salt content is so high!). I just wait for it to even out and hope for a not too drastic change upwards on the scale. When I know I've cheated I just praise the Lord for no change on it (I know I deserve to gain!).

Anyway, blessings as you all hang in there! Joan

Hey it is really easy to change your sliding scale for your weight, I just wished I could have moved mine today. First go to User CP at the top, then go to Edit Signature then in the bos that looks like this message box you will see this on the last line

scaleblue/lb/166/138/157/.png[/img]

or at least the one above is mine, that last number is my current weight just change the last number to your current weight and it moves you scale. The first number is what you started at the second is your goal and the third is current weight.

Talking Good evening ladies

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm still on track and a week ahead of plan. That gives me a little slack in case I run into some of that chocolate volcano cake. It sure is nice to be losing again.

Hi Reggierail
Hope things continue to look up for you, or should I say down LOL! We all want the scale to go in that downward position. Looks like you have done very well on your weight loss . Hope you have a nice evening and a great day tomorrow.

Hi new friends!

I had my first good day in a few weeks. I feel like it is so neat to get online and have you give me tips and encouragement. I liked the idea of getting rid of one bad habit at a time - gosh what a good idea. Mine is pretending that those protein bars aren’t as fattening as a chocolate bar and eating too many. Then the drinking is also fattening and I need to give up those. I have been into white russians all Christmas. Thank you for that, Carol. If I am mixing your names up - I do apologize.

Carol, you have had such success. Sounds crazy, but I have never had a weight problem, but menopause has downright killed me. I will be 250 before ya know it if I don't stop now.

Laurie, Lisa and Freda - congratulations on the weigh loss. I know how hard you are trying.. It would be easy for me to say to you , Lisa, - I wish I were 155, but each person has their own individual goals and even if it is to get from 130 to 122 - I will be there to understand. Good luck this week getting down to your goal.

Laurie - thank you for your perspective. We do need to hear that every day and be thankful for being alive and healthy. So sad about your friend. I will be thinking of you on Saturday.

I had a very stressful day with my band - (my geezer band,,, haha. ) the men do not nderstand that my memory is failing me and think I am a ditz. Okay , I am.. But it is so much to remember and we women have so much else on our plates, right?

That is my story and I am sticking to it.

I gave myself two carrots and hope I can go for a third tomorrow.

Tip of the day: Try to change around your aerobic exercise. Did you know that you body gets used to what you do all the time and will fight against making you more fit with it? It's true. Change it up every few months... it will help you to become fitter.

Thank you again.

Sara

Good morning everyone, I had to go to work for 4 hours yesterday, but it went quickly. And since I had to leave home at 10:30 I just had a quick piece of cinnamon raisin toast with a table spoon of whipped peanut butter and no lunch. I didn't have time to eat lunch there because you still have to do everything that would have taken you 8hours in 4. So I didn't sit down. I ate a normal dinner and did ok! Wasn't too bad.

Hope everyone is doing well!
Reggie, You are an inspiration! A week ahead of schedule! Woohoo!!!

Laurie, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend dying at such a young age! My brother in law is 45 and just had a very bad stroke! He is paralized on his left side. It's early yet and they can recover strength up to a year but I don't believe he is going to ever regain much use of his arm (i'm a rehab nurse). It came from years of denying that he had high BP and diabetes and not taking care of himself! Now he is eating well and trying to exercise what he has left. I can't help but think how much better off he would have been to have put that effort in while he had the chance! Yes, we have to enjoy life! And food is to be enjoyed and a little chocolate is actually good for you. But we have to remember that we only have one body and we have to take care of it, it has to last a long time (hopefully). Some of us may never see the results of not taking care of ourselves. Some of us may already be seeing signes of it. We want to live a long time and be healthy enought to enjoy our lives. I see so many sick people come to the hospital for things that could have been avoided with just diet and exercise. So, yeah we all want to look good, but I hope we are looking farther down the line and realizing that good health is up to us and it's worth working for.

Sorry about the rant!!!! When I work and see the results of unhealth living it sets me off!!

Everyone go make it a good day! Freda

Hi Gang:

A lot of you have said it already . . . our time here is short and we need to enjoy it while we can, but hopefully in ways that won't make it even shorter. Have you noticed that the older we get, the faster time passes. Unfortunately, the downward passage of excess pounds seems to move far more slowly as we get older.

Cross my legs I'd like to look and feel a little more comfortable with my ankles crossed . I loved the tip about changing your exercise plan periodically because your body gets used to what you've been doing. I'd never heard that one before. Suppose I need to be doing some before my body can become too complacent about it, eh ?

Eating dessert when dining out is (for me anyway) a much better idea than having it at home. One of my biggest downfalls is having any luscious food (especially home-made . . . hey, I like my own cooking, what can I say?) in the house. It just keeps calling to me until suddenly "I can't believe I ate the whole thing". However, if you eat out a lot maybe you should try working it the other way around . . . don't eat dessert unless you've made it yourself.

Well, looks like it's time to hustle the old bustle again. Stuff to do, places to go before it gets too snowy. Talk to you soon. Keep happy.

Hi Kids! It's sooooo good to be home and back with you all! What fun to get a bunch of new friends while I was away! HI!

Laurie....I am SOOOOO SORRY to hear about your friend. It's very sad to lose someone with such a great life and young kids. Just goes to show you that we all have to do what we can to stay as healty as we can be. There are no guarantees....but we just have to do it! I agree...eat chocolate! (just don't eat the WHOLE BAG!!!)

Dad's memorial service was wonderful....I won't bore you with the details, but he was a teacher in the same high school that I graduated from, so there were old (really old!) teachers and some of my classmates in attendance. That coupled with old neighbors from "back in the day" and the closeness of my siblings was just a wonderful, unforgettable experience. I'm just so happy that my daughter was able to be here from Wyoming to see her aunts, uncles & young cousins (I'm the oldest sibling by about 12 years).

AND GUESS WHAT: I stayed on-plan....except for some extra cocktails that I normally wouldn't have had!!! My HH is absolutely AMAZED. (And so am I!!!) DD will be here until Monday, so I will get offa here and spend some time with her. HH is working, so we'll be lunching & shopping today. I'll check in when time allows

It's a wonderful day here in Central Florida....I hope it's a great day for all of you!

Where is the support team? Calling all team members
I dropped one pound yippee! I decided to switch weigh in to Friday mornings. Due to week ends being the most difficult. It was great to see a one pound loss. Instead of remaining the same!!!! Have a great week end everyone!

Congratulations to luflic and Reggie ... even a pound is great! I remember a lecturer at WW once bringing in a pound of lard to show us what a pound of fat looked like ... it was so gross ... and even though it was 25 years ago, I still remember it! Too bad I can't remember it when I'm putting it on ... but, whatever ... thinking about it coming off is just as good.

I think all of you ladies will enjoy this story ... my husband and I were in a store talking to a salesperson about the renovation of our house. And he said with a straight face, "are you planning on having children?". I couldn't believe it ... my husband is younger than I am and I may look younger than I am (thanks to Loreal) but us ... having children ... over 50! I almost laughed out loud but we politely answered "no". It just made my day though!

Hope everyone else is enjoying a great day ... I sneaked a peek at the scale this morning even though I am supposed to wait until Monday. and I may have dropped a half pound. I am absolutely thrilled to be losing ANYTHING so now I can hardly wait until Monday. And I'm more motivated to stay on track so that a bigger loss shows up on Monday. Yeah!

Blessings on your day! Joan

Hi Lillygrace, Reggie, and luflic,

Congratulations to you Reggie, what a neat thing to see your weight continue on down. Your'er doing a great job.

Congratulations to you also luflic, What a good idea about changing your weigh in day. Makes since to me. Weekends are difficult, and sometimes we eat a bit more on the weekends don't we. So if you don't have the pressure on over the weekend you may find it easier even to stay on your plan. Knowing you had to weigh at the first of the week, may just cause you to stress out and eat to much. Keep up the good work.

Lillygrace, I certainly hope that bigger loss comes Monday for you. It does sometime help me also if I see the scales going in the right direction. I bet you get that pound or maybe even more! You are doing good.

I just wanted to say that I am doing fine so far this week. I had a day yesterday where I was so hungry, but I fought through it and went to bed with my eating under control, and no binges. Learning self control all over again. My favorite weight loss plan is the points system weight watchers has put out the past few years. I lost my weight the first time on it, so I am confident it works very nicely for me. My goal this time is to loose the weight and keep it off. I let it creep in on me without fighting it. Never will I do that again!

Well, everyone have a really good day! Nice chatting.

Congrats to the loosers, I also took a peek at the scale and it was the same as yesterday so no excitement here. Although with just a week left before the cruise I seriously doubt I can do much to make a difference in how I look but as long as I don't start the gaining before I go I should be OK
We went to Red Robin for dinner I will admit I was not perfect but I also was not bad. I had their grill chicken sandwich with NO bacon and instead of their fries I had a side salad. The rest of the day I was good too. I was say my biggest down fall this week besides the Warm Fudgy Lava cake was not getting in as much exercise as I had been doing the beginning of the month. I only walked 1 mile today This weekend the luggage comes out and I start to sort out what all I am packing, of course there will be some trying on of some of my shorts and capris to wee what looks best.

To be honest because the cruise is getting so close now is the time that is a bit harder for me to be really good and as far as being good on the cruise I already know I will not nor will I feel bad about it. What I will do thou is when I start to feel full I guit eating and I am planning on doing lots of walking.

Enough,

Glad you liked my idea about giving up one bad habit at a time. I learned that the last time I lost weight. I was so foolish to let the habits creep back in on me. Now, I'm making all those little adjustments all over again, but one at a time like I told you to do. It's not as overwhelming that way. I also remember my mind set at the time I lost this weight. I was not concerned with how long it took, didn't really set a goal for over a year. I just knew I had to be on my weight loss program and the rest didn't matter to me. I believe I have that mind set back now. Here's hoping for the best results I can get.

I have Rhumatoid arthritis, and I am on a lot of powerful medication, but I don't think it is my biggest problem. I just love to eat. My arthritis is tolerable now, but at times very painful for me. So out of all of those feelings I guess I thought food would help . But it doesn't ya know. It only put more pounds on my frame, which put more stress on my already damaged joints. I'm not complaining about it, but just in case anyone else out there has RA, I want them to know the weight loss is vital to keep them mobil. I do ok, just have to go slower than most people so I don't fall.

Well, bye again everyone, my grandaughter is here to go to school, so take care over the weekend.
