Ten days with no chocolate. Nice to be in double digits. Though cravings have not yet been a problem, I have actually changed some of my behavior. Last night I went to the opera, and I knew I would get hungry in the middle, so I bought a Luna bar. If I hadn't been doing this challenge, I would have gotten one with chocolate. But since I didn't, I saved myself a few calories. That's sort of nice. (Side note - when I met my friend at the stage door after the show, he didn't even recognize me. He *says* that he looked at me and thought, who is THAT hottie? And then looked closer and saw it was me. Yay!)

Curlylocks - Brava on doing a life change rather than a diet. Besides the physical acts of what you eat and do, it's so much more about a mindset. Rock on!

Shad - The Cheesecake Factory is famous for portion sizes even in the US. It is out of control!

Carla - Good to see you posting. I know how exhausting it can be to work and then sit in front of the computer some more. Sometimes you just can't.

Redballoon - Thanks for all the support and chat. You are a great thread moderator.

Everyone else, have a lovely day!
  • Day 12 in the bag!!
I am declaring a successful end to Day 12! In the bag!! Will talk to you all later. I am hitting the hay! Got to the gym today! Am already tired!

    Chaps, thank you!

  • pause day used went over mother-in-laws for dinner
  • Day 14 of my push-ups challenge - i did 9 in a row. I barely got the 9th one back up. I had to rest on my office floor when i was done for a few seconds.

Yesterday was Day 1 of my calorie challenge. I had just under 1100 calories for the day. My intent is to be under 1500, which i did, but ideally I will have at least 1300. I had stouffer's lasanga and a light caesar salad for dinner. I really wanted to eat more, or have a glass of wine, but I was very good and just quietly fussed about being hungry.

It appears that everyone is doing well! Keep it up!
  • day 2 is all done! but man is this challenge hard!
  • Sorry I have come down with a bad case of the flu. I'll post when I feel better sorry everyone.
  • Aww Mez,
    Get well soon!

    Big hugs,
    Lisa
  • Day 11 done here!

  • Day 19 Complete
Walked for 2 hours this morning. Not sure of distance cuz we were out shopping for stuff to clean the house. Then cleaned the house for 4 hours!!! But I did get in another 2 mile walk last night. So, as u can see, I'm walkin my behind off LOL

"Silly -- You are almost done! Great going!! That early morning walk would be tough, but I understand why it's even possible, seeing as your boyfriend just gets in then. How nice of him to walk with you. Is he supportive of your weight loss efforts? Hope the head and your knees feel better. Got any ideas yet about what your next challenge is going to be about? So, what was the story about the kids at the bus stop? Nothing bad, I hope."

I enjoy the walks with him in the morning. He's VERY supportive of everything. He helps me find good foods. We make lunch together, and most of the time we eat the same thing; he does that so I dont get tempted with what I USED to eat. He "TRIES" not to bring Pepsi home cuz its one of my weeknesses. Gotta say though, if I do get a craving for a soda, I've gotten used to diet sodas. I know they arent good, but sometimes, I just cant help myself. Anyhoo. He's very supportive. Knees are always gonna hurt now and again cuz of my car accident last year. Its ALOT better then it was then, so I don't complain. And my headache, its cuz I've been stressed out at work. NOT cuz I don't like my job. My boss is awesome. Thing is, we've had our grand opening pushed back a week cuz the stupid people that were supposed to set up all our computers and such just didn't follow through with what they said. I feel bad for my boss I guess, and it stresses me out. I think my next challenge is gonna be like whomever it was with the pushups. Walking is all good and well, and I will continue to do that, but I feel like I need to be doing more. SO I'm still deciding. LOL About the kids at the bus stop. UNFORTUNATELY around here, alot of the high school kids are little smart-mouthed-assbags *sorry, one of my favorite words* And unfortunately, alot of us here know how rude people can be if ur over weight. So we just steer clear of them. Thats all...I think my boyfriend said he'd "Monkey stomp" one of them if they made a remark, but I figured its best we avoid that situation. LOL *dont ask* LOL
  • Mouse - what mouse???

Taking a pause day at day 14. Grrrrrrrrrrrr. When will I ever learn? Aaah well tis done - first day off the rails for ages and ages and it had to happen today.
  • Onto day 15 today!
I'm here, now I'm gone. Have so much to do today. Take care all. Stay OC.

    Lisa
  • day 3... who this is gonna be a long 21 days.. Ive been walking 2 miles in the am .. going to work then hitting the circuit training for an hour have dinner and then walk my 3 mile route..

zzzzzzzzz... well ive been sleepin real good at nite!! Its hard now cuz even tho i have not gone OP and i am exercising like crazy .. i have hit another spot where the scale refuses to go down... but as in the past.. i know eventually it has to move down..

silly dont pay any attention to the lil brats.. when i first started walking at 288 i got a few taunts and hoots... and when they made their lil smart comments about being fat .. I just said "yep thats why i am out here doing something about it!" now they just say Hi and say stuff like youre doing good ! keep it up!
  • making it 13!!
Okay, I got through Day 13! That means I can probably make it through since I have one more pause day.... looking good...

curly -- ah! the super challenger is being tested! What exactly is your challenge again? You seem to be doing so many things, I'm confused.. . . well, if anyone can do it you can! Already Day 3!! Go, curly!!!

silly -- I totally agree with curly and was going to say almost the same thing. If you run from the kids or try to get back at them it'll only make it worse. Laugh with them, even give 'em some more colorful expressions or just talk to them like people. If you see them as people, they'll see you as a person and more likely than will be cheering you on soon instead of laughing at you. Remember, kids are kids. Laugh with 'em. They're just silly nerds.

Your boyfriend looks like a real cutie! And you are too. You really don't look all that fat at all! I don't see what you're worried about anyhow! In any case, keep up the great work. You are doing so well!

Shad -- Enjoy your pause day. You have done way better than me. I am on Day 13 and already had two pause days. You gotta leave the rails sometimes....As they say in Japanese..."even monkeys fall from tree." But, sounds like you had a good day the day before. Good workout too, eh? Keep it up. And oh, I won't be down Nagoya way then. No chance of you coming to Tokyo, huh?

friends -- Wooooooo. Was that you I just saw fly through here?!?! yeah..little naked boy in the bathtub! Good luck with your busy day!!

    vanessa -- Rockin'!

mez -- Oh no! So sorry to hear you're sick. Hope you get better real soon!

Fish -- !! Only 1100 calories. Man, I'd be climbing the wall! Well, good for you for moving ahead on both challenges! I do think you'll make it to 21!

Sweet -- A pause day for you too! Okay, hope you enjoyed the dinner!

Chaps --- Bravo(a?) on Day 10 down!! And wow!! was that ever cool or what?!?! with your friend not even recognizing you. Bet that made you feel good, eh? And good for you for planning ahead like that with the Luna (nonchocolate) bar!

Ok, bed for me now! Hope to hear from more of you when I get up tomorrow. Good night, all!

  • Day 11 finished
Y'know, what's kind of cool about the way I am posting - I wait until the morning after to declare success for the day. That means that while day 11 is done, I am actually ON day 12. It sort of makes me feel one step ahead of the game. And it's those little things that really keep me going.

FishWoman - I'm with Redballoon - 1100 calories???? I think I would probably pass out. But if it worked for you that day, well then cool.

Mez - So sorry about the flu. i hate being sick more than almost anything else in the world. I hope you are already feeling better.

SillyFluff - I agree with the previous posts about the kids. My best friend, who now weighs 357, walks around this really gorgeous lake in Seattle, and gets all mellow and happy to be in nature and exercising...and then these snotty kids go by on their bikes and actually point and laugh. Then she doesn't want to go back for a while. That makes me so mad! BTW - i *love* the word "assbags"!! I'm stealing it, if you don't mind.

Curlylocks - Your attitude toward plateaus is inspiring. Excellent!

Redballoon - Congratulations on 13 days! You are past the halfway point, woo hoo!!

    Have a great day all!!
  • Day 20 COMPLETE
Walked a mile this morning. Its getting humid again so the miles are gonna be low til it gets better. Its just YUCKY out BLECH!

silly dont pay any attention to the lil brats.. when i first started walking at 288 i got a few taunts and hoots... and when they made their lil smart comments about being fat .. I just said "yep thats why i am out here doing something about it!" now they just say Hi and say stuff like youre doing good ! keep it up!

It just kinda makes it hard to concentrate on why you are out there. Most of the adults just say good morning. It more or less embarasses me.

silly -- I totally agree with curly and was going to say almost the same thing. If you run from the kids or try to get back at them it'll only make it worse. Laugh with them, even give 'em some more colorful expressions or just talk to them like people. My boyfriend is a cutie. I always ask him how I got so lucky. He's always got some smart *** remark LOL That picture is old. I couldnt get the most recent one to size right.

Please by all means, use my word LOL. I also like to call people "AssHats". I have one more that I use if i'm really irritated but I think it'll be so I'll just leave you all with those 2. Please, use them in ur everyday life...even at the office...LOL
