howdy ya'll..hope everyone is doing well.. I'm so excited that this thread is growing like wild fire.. again I want to thank all of you for making this so special.. Well i just finished cleaning the kitchen.. and I'm not talking to my hubby.. hes on this new diet were he has to count carbs fat and calories and have a certain amount during each of his 4 meals.. (hes trying to bulk up).. well hes been eating egg whites every morning and just leaving the dishes in the sink.. (doesnt even put water in them).. and since I've been mainly living on frozen dinners I dont really make a trip to the sink.. until today.. I decided to make grilled chicken breasts and steamed veggies for dinner and I about had a heart attack just looking at those dishes.. i put them in the dishwasher but the stuff was so stuck on I had to wash them all by hand.. and honestly, I was ok with it.. even though they were his dishes and I work too.. . but when I thought he was doing the laundry in the garage (you know, sharing the chores), I saw him sitting on his a$$ in the bedroom watching the SPURS game.. ohh.. I was soo ticked off.. then he has the nerve to come to the kitchen and act all suprised saying whats wrong? that ticked me off even more.. men!!.. what do you do with them?? *sigh*.. ok.. now I feel better.. thanks for letting me vent..
jennie934: thanks for the kind words.. I think you are doing an awesome job as well.. Lisa_WY: no need to apologize.. we love reading your posts.. thats what makes us.. us... you are doing so good.. keep up the great work.. and I'm soo proud of you for going swimming today and not thinking twice about the ice cream.. momX3: thanks.. i needed to be put in my place.. i'm just so worried that all this hard work is going to be for nothing.. how did the pics come out? looking2lose: hey hun.. i love reading your posts.. thanks for the motivation.. and don't you worry.. the way we eat are habits we got ourselves into, and it's gonna take time to change our habits for the better.. plus you can NOT give up a certain food you love, because most people will give up their healthy eating because of that.. "everything in moderation" ~~Sunshine~~: great job!! I'm so proud of you for getting your excersize in... kclay61: so glad the baby is doing fine... I bet his handsome face just makes your rainy day.. MoonRay: OMG!!! yay for you... hey.. do you hear that?? (dun du da) :queen: you are the Pic Chick Diva of the day.. keep up the great work.. now exactly how long did it take you to loose all those pounds?? petra65: I use to have the same problem.. I never had the energy to get off the couch and exercize... I always told myself that I had to lose weight first (I know I'm crazy).. but I forced myself to walk.. and then it became a habit, and then I wanted to do more.. you'll get there.. just don't give up in yourself.. we all believe in you.. Hotcupojava: WELCOME.. I'm so glad to have you here.. and I agree with you 100%.. the people on this thread are the BEST.. I cant wait to hear more from and about you.. Well guys.. my day went okay.. except for the whole dishes thing.. I walked my 2 miles and my totals for today were 13.5 grams of fat,, and 1055 calories.. I really don't know how they stayed that low.. I know it's bad to go too low and I didnt plan for them to be that low.. I just eat and count my totals before I go to bed.. Don't scold me yet.. my cheat day is Saturday, and I will make up for it.. (I promise) ;) .. I'm soo worried about weighing in.. my sister in law started dieting with me like a week after I started, and shes not as strict as I am,, but I can notice a big difference in the way she looks,, and I really dont see that much of a difference in me.. actually the places I notice it are the places that I wanted to loose last.. I'm loosing my boobs, and my butt.. oh well.. a loss is a loss... does anyone else have this problem?? today has been my downest day.. I just keeping thinking that I'm not working hard enough, but I dont want to over do it.. you know.. it's just one of those days when i'm doubting every decision I've ever made.. well I guess I'll find out on Tuesday if I've been working hard enough or not.. well my chicadees.. thank you so much for lending me your ears and letting me clear my thoughts.. I wish you all the best day.. and I cant wait to hear from you all.. |
Here's Java Turtle
Name: Mary (but Java works great or Turtle or Java Turtle)
Location: Northern West Virginia Age: 40 (ouch) Sex: female Marital status: Divorced & currently dating 1 Pooh Bear :smug: Highest weight: 349 (highest recorded weight) :o Current weight: (last weigh in): 240 Goal weight:145 Current clothing size: 22-24 Goal clothing size: I have no idea Kids:none Pets: 2 cats: Elvis 18 and Squeak (a stray) 3 Turtles: Lil' Butt, Cowboy and Stinky Diet: Joined TOPS in April. Following WW's Points (loosely) and journaling everything I eat. Drinking as close as I can get to 60 oz's of water daily and exercising as many days a week that I can. Okay, that's me. Java Turtle. I'm a full time/afternoon shift police dispatcher. I've been a law enforcement dispatcher :drill: for over 13 years and well, sitting on my butt eight hours a day/five days a week for thirteen plus years has uhmm taken it's toll on me and my hugely spread out bottom. I've only been at this new position for one year. But I love dispatching. I had a gastric bypass in 1999 and it wasn't what I expected. I initially lost a chunk of weight, but the weight loss stopped and I now struggle daily to lose. I don't have any food amount restrictions, so it's not like I have an advantage in dieting or losing weight. In fact, I feel it was never right in the first place. But that's another story (kind of a sore subject). I'm very glad I stumbled upon this thread. I've been searching for a new thread home since April. I've been lurking in several :mag:. But when I read yours (the entire thirteen pages) I felt like I'd found a home for Da Turtle. :smug: Deerod~ Thank you for starting this wonderful home. And I'm sorry about the hubby/dishes episode. Sort of glad my man is only here on my days off. Other wise he'd be pushing my buttons while standing on my last nerve. :rollpin: Lisa WY~ I gave up shaving my legs from Oct (just after my b-day) until the first day of spring. That was ugly. But it's real cold here in WV too. I can relate. :sman: Kclay61~ The joy brought on by that grandson comes right through in your post. So sweet. Congratulations! MoonRay~ Awesome job on 9 NINE pounds lost! :encore: Looking2lose~ I adore your sense of humor. Right up my alley. I weigh on Monday's too. Good luck to you. :high: Not sure how far to go back (and how many gals to include) on my very first "real" post. So I'll just say hello to the rest of you. I'm really glad to have found you all. Have a great day. |
Happy Friday the 13th
Good Morning PIC!!!! YIPPEEEEE It is Friday!!!!
Mary: Welcome!! Glad you are here! I am rather new, just started posting earlier this week and it is a great bunch of people! My sister had gastric bypass. She keeps trying to talk me into it. I would rather try the old fashion way. She has a lot of medical problems now, I doubt they were the cause of surgery but has cancer in several places and now is having trouble keeping weight on. Deerod: Men don't think. LOL Last week when I was sick, dh took me to the doctor. I had a kidney problem, really dehydrated and a high fever. Doc tried to be me in the sick place but I don't have anyone to watch Mallissa early in the mornings so I told him no let's try something else first. After the doctor dh took me to the pharmacy. I keep telling him how thristy I was. He said, ok, and went into the pharmacy. When he finally did bring me something to drink after waiting for the RX (over 20 minutes) he brought me Mt. Dew. Not my choice of drink for someone who is dehydrated. Then wanted to stop to get gas while he was out. I finally had to yell at him..TAKE ME HOME!!!!!!!!!! So, I have concluded, they just don't think! I shouldn't complain, he is tackling Mt. Washmore this week. We do share the chores. Petra: The first time I was on WW, I tried to do it without exercise. It just doesn't work. I read a book once from a fitness guru..that said..Any exercise is good. Once you start..it might even be walking to the street corner and walking to that same street corner until you are not out of breath. I have to make myself time to do exercise. I am a very busy mom. I also work 7:30-4:30 everyday plus on 4 days a week, I am driving Mallissa all over to gym class, piano and ballet. My day starts early and ends late most days. Actually exercising with Mallissa by taking her on a walk or the pool is fun! THe hardest part of exercising is making yourself do it. 30 minutes a day is good...an hour is better but if it is only 15 minutes...that is 15 minutes you didn't do the day before. Once you find a routine, it becomes addictive to you. Last night I did some recipe look up on the board under WW. There are some interesting ones there. Dh wants to try new food. I am hoping to get him on the bandwagon. I am sitting here listening to the Curves commerical.Anyone hear it..it is funny. LOL Hope everyone has a good day and it is lucky for you! Lisa Wyoming |
Good Morning ladies - Today is Friday the 13th :yikes: Who knows what today will harvest in the cubefarm. Zoiks!
I have been oversleeping the last 2 days. That is so not like me. :?: I usually am up at 3:30 a.m. (go to sleep by 9 p.m. at the latest). I get my day started, eat an energizing something like some fruit, half a cup of coffee, get some time on an exercise tape, stairstepper, or dance with the cats. I'm just kinda blah. Here I have support. At home I have none. My girlfriend wants to go walking, go to the Y with me, but has a super physical job and doesn't have energy in the afternoons or evenings, and will not get up earlier than is last-minute necessary. It kinda bums me out :( I don't wanna have a morning list of shoulda, woulda, couldas...you know? I want to reach my mini-goal of 10%, I want to be healthy. I don't want diabetes like my entire family, I don't want to have a heart attack. I want to live. I have to kick myself in my own behind and do this. Today is a new day!!! :) I can do this. WE can do this. One of you gals stated in a post that 'every second is a new beginning.' I like me and I am worth living for. WE ALL ARE. I just got me a big water, and I got my favorite comfy jean-capris on, wore my sneakers to work, and I'm going to get real here and give 'er h :censored: ll!! Thanks for listening my cherished PICs. Hugs to all, Be good to yourselves and take it easy. I'll be thinking about you. TTYS |
Morning Ladies :coffee:. I wrote to you all last night but lost it when I tried to send it so I just got about half way done doing it again this morning and the baby turned the computer off mid sentence :dizzy: . So here I go again.
kclay - :hyper: pictures of the baby yes please  Petra - Like Dee said "we all believe in you". I can't believe the amount of energy I have now that I have found a way to exercise ;) and trust me I have to find the time I have 3 kids and 1 is is only 21 months :) . hotcup - Glad you made it to our group :high:. You are right this is the best site with the most supportive ladies. Lisa - so sorry to hear about your sis . You are smart to do it the old fashion way. Good job on not going for ice cream :). I actually do curves and I love it!!! It gives me so much energy. I really look forward to the days I get to go there. I have always loved the cardio part of working out but I hate weights. When I go to curves I get the strength training that I need. Did I tell you I love it . lookin - I hope nothin bad happens in the cubefarm today. We are here to support you because people that are not going through this just don't understand but we do!! Don't worry about kicking yourself in the behind we can do that for you to . Seriously girls cheer up :cheer:. You are doing so well it is just going to take time but you are ON YOUR WAY!! dee - I have never heard you so down but we all have "those days". Don't worry about how your sil looks we all lose at different rates and in different ways. I have heard that you lose the weight first from the last place you put in on so the rest will come. I just wish I had your problem with the boobs and the butt mine are both double jumbo :^:. You have been working so hard and I know you feel better so just keep plugging away you will win this battle. Lean on me all you want I won't fall :D . Keep your chin up 'cause you ROCK!! I don't see your flower yet ;) . Now something for everyone to think about.... Why is it that we can be so supportive of everthing that everyone else is doing but we are not being supportive of ourselves. We are the only ones that truly know how hard we are working and yet we doubt everything we do. I want everyone to give themselves a pat on the back today because all we can do is our best. If that means eating healthy but not yet exercising or exercising but not yet eating healthy if it is YOUR best you deserve a pat on the back!!!! |
Happy Friday the 13th
MomX3~ Sorry you lost your post. I've started doing mine in another program and then cutting and pasting. But it takes longer. And I agree with you. We are our worst critics. We should practice what we preach (or cheer).:cheer:
Looking2Lose~ Don't get down on yourself. It is much easier with a partner, but not impossible without. My BF is sometimes an uneasy ally in this battle of weight, but sometimes (okay, MOST times) he's my worst enemy. I hope you find someone that isn't too exhausted, to work out with you. And I hope things are going smoothly in your "cube farm" today on this Friday the 13th. Lisa WY~ Thanks for the welcome. Although I would probably do the surgery again if I had it all to do over, (though it wasn't that much of an "easy way out" for me) I am very glad that my Type II Diabetes was basically "cured" by the weight loss I did manage to have. Too often the surgery is being used now as the quick or dream fix that it's not. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone that isn't in extreme danger or at least 200 pounds over weight. Kclay61~ I hope you're just eating up that sweetness from da baby! Will we see photos? Take care and enjoy. :smug: Petra65~ I miss having a dog. We've got bike/walking trails that I'd love to walk a dog on. Sadly, my little dog, Penny died years ago and working full time doesn't allow me enough time to dedicate to a dog. But maybe I can "borrow" a dog to walk. You live near West Virginia? Anyone I missed .. I apologize. I got up a little earlier than I wanted today. Between my cat, Squeak and the sun, I just wasn't allowed to sleep in. I've done laundry and dishes this morning. Put away all my uniforms :drill: (save the one I have to wear for a commencement ceremony on Sunday ... my day off ugh), and I made some really good tuna salad with fat free Mayonnaise and some funky mustard I found at Big Lots. Now I just have to decide what exercise to do for the day. I did Tae Bo yesterday and it whooped up on me. Maybe a step tape today. Better go strap the girls down so I don't black my eyes. :faint: I'll read and post more from work. Nothing else to do. Have a great day you wonderful PIC's you! |
WELCOME Java! Congrats on all the weight lost so far!
WoHooo thanks Deerod for the honor ;) Quote:

HI Honey's... TGIF!!!.. my day is going so much better.. sorry I was the "downer" yesterday.. I guess I was just feeling sorry for myself.. and plus I've been extremly tired..
this is my day: 6:30 am - wake up, get ready for work. feed Gizmo and Oreo (3 month old chihuahua pups). Drive to work. 8-5p: - at work 6:00 pm - get home.. put freckles (70 pound dalmation) in his kennel (because I dont trust him with the pups yet). then I take the pups outside and let them stretch their legs.. then I take the pups back inside, let freckles loose, make dinner and clean the kitchen or we go out to eat. this is the time that we usually go to the store if we need something. 8:00pm - go walking or do aerobics tape and then walk. 9-9:30pm - we get home 10pm - let the pups run around the house, feed Teddy & Piggy. (our huge ginuea pigs) watch a very little bit of tv while playing with the pups,, 11pm - take a shower, then I get online and lately I've been in bed between 12:30 and 1 am.. then I start it all over again.. I'm trying to get the courage to ask my job to let me go part time.. but I don't think they will go for it.. Hotcupojava: I'm so glad you joined our group.. Congrats on all the weight you've already lost :cp: .. Lisa WY: I'm sorry to hear that your sisters surgery had so many complications.. I wish her well.. and I totally agree.. men just don't think.. looking2lose: I'm so glad that you are always here to make us laugh.. sorry that you've been oversleeping.. but usually when you change your diet and start to excersize it takes a toll on your body and it'll take a couple of days for your body to get used to working harder.. and don't be bummed.. usually every time I go on a diet, my husband eats more of the crap that I love.. one time he made a pecan pie cake and I was doing the Atkins diet.. I COULD HAVE KILLED HIM:rollpin: .. and like you said.. we are here for you.. momX3 : Ohh.. I hate when that happens.. the other night I was like one sentence from being done posting here :comp: .. and I dont know if I clicked something or what, but all of a sudden :yikes: .. BAM!! it was gone.. I was like "no way" .. and I just really want to thank you for all your encouragement.. I don't mind loosing my butt and boobs, I just didnt want to loose them first. when I was slim.. I was very flat chested and the only good thing about gaining weight was that I got boobs.. now I have to sa "TA TA" to my ta ta's.. lol  .. oh. and about the flower.. I weigh in on Tuesday, so I will post it then.. MoonRay: you deserved it.. you are doing wonderful da-hr-rling.. just wonderful well. I'm back to the coal mine.. I will check up with ya'll again later tonight.. TA TA.. ha ha ha  |

Hi Everyone, I'm with you clipclop, I missed a day and missed so much. Things have been hectic as per ussual. I did really well though yesterday. I knew I wouldn't be able to get my workout in so I ate very sensibly. I planned out each meal in the morning. It makes it a lot easier when you don't have to make choices on the spot.
Today I tried to do pilates in the am but my son was very excited he was having a graduation from PreK into Kindergarden today so he was all over the place and was jumping in between my legs and on top of me. any whoo....my mom and dad are taking him for the evening so I can go to the gym after work and get a better work out in. Everyone is doing so well. I am worried about my WI, I have one pound to go and I am at my first goal of 20 and I am getting a pedicure. My feet are soooo bad looking right now I really need it because it is getting warm and I want to wear my flip flops and look cute. I am wearing them to remind my self not to lose control but me feet do not look cute at all! I hope so bad that I lose that pound. I havn't gotten in as much excersise as I would like because i have been so busy at work but I've been keeping with in my points. ahhhh....I'll see on Sunday. keep up the good work. Jennie |
hotcup - "Better go strap the girls down so I don't black my eyes. " This is so me I love it ;).
jennie - good job on keeping up with the points! I'm sure you will have beautiful feet in no time . Sunshine - have fun at the yard sales  . Clipclop - nice to see you. Look forward to hearing how you are tonight. dee - I don't know how you fit it all in girl!! We had 3 ginuea's Cocoa, Butterscotch and Ginger but they all died. The lived for 5 years though. They were very cute and very, very messy :dizzy: . |
Howdy Everyone!
Good Evening!!! Today was a beautiful day in Sunny Wyoming!! After yesterday's snow it warmed up..YIPPEEEEE I am proud, instead of going out tonight like we always do on Friday, I actually cooked dinner. I had some Oriental frozen thingys in my freezer. They were good and very low in fat. Dh even liked them. Sunshine: I love yard sales. We have a big one coming up the first week of June. Our Meals on Wheels has a huge one in the CFD hall. Last year we bought a snow blower for $25.00. I get lots of kewl stuff when I go. I try to go the last day, last hour, because they will give you stuff for almost nothing!! Mary: you made me spit with the strapping down the girls quote. Lucky it was only water or my computer screen at work..would of been messy. I never considered the surgery. I am 100lbs overweight and have lost weight before so I know I can do it. I actually got out my old WW book and I am proud to announce my starting weight is about the same as last time. Dee: Last time I lost weight I lost my boobs first too. My dh at the time wasn't happy..he liked my girls. The last to go is my thighs and arms. I want them to go first. My current dh told me today, you have a great attitude about losing weight. I haven't officially weighed myself yet but I did notice my pants were a little loser this week. My day starts at 5am. I design webpages part time and produce dh's radio show so this is when I fit it in. I shower and dress at 6:30 sharp and get the kid up. She normally takes her breakfast with her to daycare. I have to be at work at 7:30 sharp and I am there until 4:30pm. On Mon/Wed, I take her to the gym after daycare and on Thurs I take her to piano. My only free nights are T/Th but I am changing Sat swimming to one of the those nights. Friday night is family night. Saturday, I have WW at 7, Mallissa has swimming at 9, Ballet at 10 and open gym at noon. Sunday we go to church and Mallissa has choir at 4.... Our lives are full but I am determined to eat right, get sleep and exercise!!! I have to do this for me!!! ClipClop: The kewl thing is we are here when you need us!! Gald you are on program. Keep up the good work. Jennie: I hope you lose that pound. Maybe it is 2 or 3..you never know until you see the scale. Everyone else: have a great night. Tonight is my I can be lazy night. I don't exercise 2 days a week. If I have to adjust this later, I will.. but for now..5 nights is what I think is best. I will check in after WW in the morning. I know where I started on Monday..so we will see if I lost any weight yet. Lisa Wyoming |
This has been a busy thread in the past 24 hours. I have a big announcement...Drum roll please.........
I got on the scale this morning and it said I lost 2 more pounds! I skipped 9 and went straight to 10. Let's hope this trend continues. I think the difference is that I have been eating fewer vegetables. Also that fitday software has shown me carbs in a few places I didn't know they were sneaking in before. Welcome Java. My name is Mary too. No, I don't live near WV. I live in the Lehigh Valley if you know where that is. I used to live in Virginia so I am somewhat familiar with WV. I have several patients who have had gastric bypass surgery. Some have done well, others not so well. It has been interesting to watch. I do a fair number of the psych evals before surgery. Dee--the older I get, the happier I am that I never got married. LOL Lisa-good luck tomorrow. If I gave you all the impression I am a couch potato, that would not be the case. My biggest problem is that I work too many hours. I'm a psychiatrist so I work like 50-60 hours a week. I literally go to a different office every day and some days I go to more than one office. I'm all over the hospital. Part of my job is to see patients who are on medical or surgical floors but have psychiatric problems. Sometimes I can be so busy at work that I literally don't have time to go to the bathroom or eat. I live in my house by myself with my dogs and there is always something that needs to be done. I also require a fair amount of sleep. I need 8-9 hours a night or I feel like a someone ran over me with a truck. So I try to be in bed by 9:30 on worknights. And I'm about to turn into a pumpkin now so I better get going, although I have off this weekend. Talk to you all tomorrow. |
:bravo: 10 pounds lost forever!!!!!!! WooHoooo!! Way to go Petra :cp:
