Morning all!!!

It was a quiet weekend - but nice. We haven't gotten the estimate for the floor yet...but it shouldn't be too bad.

Star - lovely avatar....I'm glad to know that's not you....I was concerned at first...I realized before you were a tad insane...but that's downright hilarious.

Kathy - you sound like me...I feel great but the pounds aren't exactly melting off. I'm envisioning that i'm building muscle weight. Someday the fat will burn off the top and the muscles will be there. I'm already exercising 5 days a week - but I'm going to keep my goal of getting through an entire workout without skipping anything.

Andrea has a posse!! Too !

Love2Ride - hope everything goes ok with your dad....smoking is tough to kick.

harleymom - maybe later you and 2Fru can have a kickboxing match!! That does sound like a pretty good workout...

Debbie - you ate a mexican? Sorry, I couldn't resist...
I used to be able to stay up 'til all hours drinking coffee, then go right to sleep...and feel fine the next day...getting old does suck. (insert 'knitting in rocking chair' smilie here)

Andrea - I want to be in your posse

Gina - I'm sure the working out is paying off, you probably look like you weigh much less than the number on the scale! Keep up the good work....

Went to COD and my weight is correct on the ticker. I was just glad not to be at 170 (okay I was close but not THERE) I told them I would be back on Wed. Also I'm doing Take Off tomorrow and Wed to kick it up a notch. Take Off is just were you eat unlimited protein and veggies, drink 64 ounces of water and this Take Off juice from LAWL..... no fats, starches, dairy or lite bars......

Tonight I will be working out at the gym at our apartment. They have all the equipment I need, plus a tv with remote......seems like a great place to start back.

later...

LOL on my posse!

Ok, someone kick me hard in the butt! I had done so good most of today then I went to visit in the lounge and snacked WAY too much. Urghh! I might have to start posting my food so that I have to be accountable. That's a big issue for me right now. Yuck, I feel puffy. I'm planning on walking after work or even getting on the Gazelle.

Speaking of feeling puffy...I was so nauseated last week and I'm really late on TOM, so I have taken 2 preg tests and all are negative. Not sure what the problem is. I'm only 28, so it can't be menopause.

Star- I have thought of doing a 3 day fast just to cleanse myself of all the junk I've been eating lately. I may do some research on it. You have such a great attitude about getting back on track.

Gina- You are another chicky with a great weight loss attitude. If I don't see loss in pounds I get really upset.

Kathy- Thanks for asking about my car! It's nothing real new, but it is to me. It's a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue and its a dark red with real gorgeous rims. Very fun to drive, nice and smooth. I love her!

See ya ladies tomorrow. I will report how the rest of my day went with eating...

Andrea - Some girls at LAWL don't want to spend the cash ($25) for the Take Off Juice so they buy the Hollywood Diet drink at Walmart or Walgreens (it's basically the same stuff). A juice fast is always a good 'break-it up" regime. On LAWL we can also eat protein and veggies with it. Actually there are two different ways to do it and it lasts two days. If you want more details just pm me and I'll give you the lowdown.....
28 and menopause - now that is funny......lol

Howdy chickies! Had a lovely ride in this morning It was dark, but dry!

Been doing well with the eating and the exercising! I ran yesterday and kickboxing tonight and I hope to make another run tomorrow! I'm laying off the weights for a week, just to change things up a bit! I think I need a new programme.

Off to stay with the 'rents at the weekend, that means eating lots of biscuits and regressing to 15 year old eating habits! But I'm going to try and stay healthy and non-compulsive

Morning Chicks....
Today is day one of Take Off juice for me. So far so good, also was POP (perfect on plan) yesterday. It feels good to be back on track and hoping that this positive feeling stays with me.....lol
2Fru - what are 'rents'? Is it parents? Duh - for me huh? Sounds like you really workout alot - you'll be at goal in no time.
It's really cold here -low teens and I think we are suppose to get more snow tomorrow.
I bought stuff to decorate our front porch, but dang it's too cold to go out there.....lol The stuff is laying on a table in the entry way, it will be fun to see how long it takes to actually get put in place......hum
So I'm doing really good with my Christmas shopping I'm almost done and it is all wrapped and under the tree. We just need to get some gift certs from a resturant for our adult kids and one more toddler gift. Oh and I have yet to decide what to get for DH, it's either teeth whitening or custom made orthopedic inserts from his foot for his shoes.....lol NOW does that scream how old we are getting or what........rotf.......and I can't believe I actually typed that........
later chicks.....lol...I sure do tickle myself...silly me...

Indeed I am staying with the pa-rents! What lovely gifts you're getting DH! Is he getting you some support stockings?

God I re-read that post and I do sound like a fitness freak! I like it though! I'd rather be a fitness freak than a lazy slob Although I like to be a lazy slob on weekends! If some-one had told me when I was 14 that I'd be doing 6 hours a week of exercise, 5 days a week and that I'd be able to kick butt in a kickboxing class, along with black belts I wouldn't have believed them! Just shows how a girl can change!

Morning chicks!

Star- Yeah, those are some pretty snazzy Christmas gifts to Dh! LOL. But, hey, I'm sure that he really needs them...hehe...its still funny, though! Congrats to you for being POP!!! Whoo hoo!

2frust-What is the weather like there? What's the temp? It's under 20 degrees F here.

I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet. I always seem to do it on Christmas Eve. I think that Dh and I really ought to combine our shopping $ and buy a "together gift" like a treadmill. For my parents maybe a whiskey gift set and a DVD, my brother loves cool ties, Dh's nieces and nephews probably just gift cards. I haven'y decorated the house at all. He's been a poop about my Christmas lights, so I just said to heck with them. He's made several comments against them and then says "just kidding"...sometimes I wanna kick him in the butt...lol. Since I have been with him, my Christmas spirit has dwindled. It's just not my favorite hoilday anymore.

The eating was so-so yesterday. I had Slimfast + fruit for breakfast and lunch, then for a snack a handful of tortilla chips, dinner was ground turkey, green beans and rotel all mixed together, I snacked on a 100 calorie bag of popcorn, and then ate way too much sugar free/fatfree pudding later in the evening. Oh yeah, and maybe 5 chocolate covered raisins and a bagel earlier in the day at work. Oink Oink! Plus, I didnt get home until later and so we didn't go walking...and its really cold outside!

Today's plan...
Breakfast- Slim Fast and banana
lunch- Slim Fast, apple, and diet Coke
Snack-100 calorie snack pack of Chex mix type stuff
Dinner- Low calorie frozen dinner (mexican)
Snack- Popcorn or a yogurt.

I really do plan on walking today...even a short walk.

Have a great day ladies

Hi Andrea - I know about my DH's christmas gift.......rotf - poor guy. BUT in my defense he said he really wants to try the inserts, but would never pay to have them made, like $200-250 for the mold......He has a foot spur and they would really ease the pain.......

Andrea - I think a treadmill would be a great 'joint' gift for you two, since you are both trying to get healthier this coming year....I love my treadmill and all my other gym equipment and miss it tons now that it is at our up north place. It's so much easier to work out at home and not have to drive to the gym.

I saw the Urban Rebounder on QVC yesterday for $55 and it was all I could do not to call and order it. DH would have killed me, we don't have any room for that in the apartment (but I would have made room)......I just think it looks like so much fun and the concept that it engages all of the muscles in your body is amazing.........

Ok - later......

Andrea I think I have you beat on the slacker attitude for Xmas...I haven't started anything yet... Just bundle up for your walk...layers so if you get hot you can peel something off. I swear you will be glad you did once you get going!!

Star - I used to have a LOT of heel pain when I first started walking regularly. I fixed it when I started wearing birkenstocks....I bet the custom insert would be even better!!! The birks made all the difference tho. I have moved on to tennies since then - but I still wear birks the rest of the day. My feet are quite spoiled. (I have like 7 different types of birks...so California of me)

2Fru - enjoy the parental unit time...ya never know how long they will be around... staying OP!!

Back to work.... Good morning to all!!

Gina - I see the Birks on QVC (shopping channel) all the time. They look really comfy, but didn't realize they have a cult following.....lol
Back in the day, I use to wear Dr. Scholls,I found them really comfy too.
Hum, got me thinking, wonder if I will have to buy new shoes after my bunion surgery.........
Andrea - you are a tougher chick than me. To me this weather means mall walking.....my face would freeze outside.....burrrr

The traditional Birks (Arizona style)are kind of thought of as hippy shoes....nothing new in the land of fruits, nuts and tree huggers...

There are styles with a softer footbed..they are the comfy-est. They last a long time if you get them resoled every once in a while. I'll have to go check QVC to see if they are cheaper...I usually get mine at Ross or Marshall's..but the selection is kinda iffy.

Okay - I copied this from another thread, thought it was worth stealing....
Article on Weighing Daily

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I found this article on AOL's diet and fitness section. I found it very interesting.

In the bathroom, locker room and even at the doctor's office, most adults cringe at the sight of a scale. But it might actually be a dieter's best friend, according to new findings.

Over a two-year period, adults who self-weighed daily actually lost more weight than adults who shied away from the scales. In fact, daily weighers lost twice as much as those who only measured weekly, according to the University of Minnesota study.

Adults often have a better gauge on their cars than on their bodies, says Michael D. Ozner, author of 'The Miami Mediterranean Diet.' While it's easy to tell when your car needs a fill-up, monitoring weight comes less easily to many.

"Our fuel gauge should be our bathroom scale," says Ozner. "If we see that we're gaining weight, we don't want to fill up or put more fuel into our system."

The daily approach runs contrary to conventional wisdom about measuring weight, and many health experts discourage frequent trips to the scale because of daily fluctuations that can be discouraging.

What's Your True Weight?
Dawn Jackson Blatner, of the American Dietetic Association, says hormonal changes, salt and carb splurges, and even weather can affect your weight. She recommends using the "4 S's":

· Same time of day, on the
· Same day each week, wearing the
· Same clothing, and using the
· Same scale

Your true weight is a measure of what's happening to your body over time, says Blatner, which is why she recommends a weekly check-in. And if your clothing sizes differ from friends of similar weight, remember that your body type predetermines how and where your weight is distributed. You can just thank Mom for that.

I just ate a mexican turn-over type pastry filled with cream. Ohhhh it was sooo good, but my tummy is saying "WTF? What was that?" And it's a little upset. I don't feel too bad for eating it. I'm determined not to beat myself up over eating something that's not good for me as long as I'm eating good the rest of the time. I got them from a client who owns a bakery - I won't be going back there very often!

I ran/walked 3 miles last night Today's my off day, but I may do some lunges, calf raises, and some squats this evening after I take my son shopping.

How can Christmas be so close? It seams like I don't have enough time to do what I want to. I'm going to do a watercolor paining for my parents, but I'm still pretty new at using this medium, so it may take longer than I thought. I hope to be done if I start this week. Plus I'm painting my cards this year so I have to get those done too.

Star - practical gifts are great, especially if your husband won't buy what he needs on his own. I'm getting my husband forksprings for his motorcycle! and Rebel - the treadmill is another great idea! I wish I had one at home.

Have a great day everyone!

Kathy
