Annie ~ Yeah winter weather isnt good for people's health, I agree.

Woke up at 6:45 a.m. Its now 8:23 a.m. I'm currently posting on here and watching t.v. At 11 a.m. I'm gonna do my 40 min. Chair Exercises and then at 6 or 6:30 tonight I'll do my 20 min. 1 mile walking dvd. I have a OBGYN appt. to go to today and then when I get done there my mom,Scott and I are gonna go to Dillions and then we're gonna go get get dinner and then we're gonna come back home.
I can't stay long, I have a appt. coming anytime now.
Annie ~ Get well quickly so U can b w your son Praying for a great outcome for him I hope U can go home early & do nothing.
Happy ~ Happy 38th Anniversary w dh What is the traditional gift for #38, or do U have a certain gift U want?? I got a Yoga dvd for pregnant gals @ the goodwill store $2, I figured that will b very gentle & not mess w the crystals-vertigo problems U girls have gotten. I'll tell U my review after using it, however since I've never done Yoga, don't pay attention to my review.
Ceejay ~ Sorry about the southern states getting a taste of our northern weather now u see why we have soo many snowbirds down south. But soon you'll b in Texas
Laura ~ Your pic is a cutie, dh & I think U r about 30 yr. but I thought U once said U r older than that ?? We did do a 20-50 mile bike every other weekend from May-Sept. until 2 yrs. ago, now we only do it 4 times. I have a 4-man tent w a air mattress, 2 sleeping bags & pillow in a duffle bag in the back of my Honda incase we decide to do a sleep-over @ DS's almost 2 hours away, or if we r doing a long day trip drive on a Saturday we can camp @ any campground & enjoy their area on the spur of the moment.
Michelle ~ I hope U had a fun session w your trainer I glad U r enjoying being @ work doing projects again. It bites when the work makes U dread having a job & we keep looking @ the time waiting for the day to end.
Susie & Terra
Does anyone play Pickle Ball & what type of racquets r U using, I'm debating between the sports stores & Amazon buying stuff? I'm checking into buying a net, etc. to do it in the driveway & in the garage during the winter, instead of using a tennis court & paying to do it indoors in the winter. My left knee is too messed-up for tennis & w Pickle Ball being slower paced its fun, kinda like badminton but lower to the ground. I gave my Ping-Pong table to the g-babes & parents. Does anyone have horseshoe pits, ours aren't clay. I keep thinking about playing outside when the temps warm up, our basketball hoop is taunting me when I go outside (I have rules for myself ex: for every dessert I eat, I have to make 5 b.ball sinks & 3 horseshoe ringers) plus play soccer w our 3 doggies or Frisbee, or swim laps in the pool. In the winter there's not much to do outdoors but hiking, ski, make snowmen & I'm not a gym-rat because there's too much junk ppl sneeze-cough in the air & touch their snotty noses its not a sanitary place to visit.
Have a Yummy Lunch & Supper I made a banana crème cake last night for today & just put our lasagna in the convection oven... So our supper is done
Terra – Yeh, I’m tired of winter too. Today is the last day of temps in the teens in our area (well, I think it'll start cold tomorrow morning too), and I’m looking forward to the thermometer going up over the next several days. The week seems to have gone so slow because I’m so eager for this forecast warm-up to happen. Bleh re the OB/GYN appointment. I looked at my spreadsheet (where I keep track of all my doctors/appointments and see that I’m due for my annual appointment – my last one was March 7th of last year. Hope your exercise sessions are good today!!
Annie – I hope the rx makes you feel better, and that you can leave work a bit early so you can go home and rest. I hope your son’s surgery goes well. I’ve never had any kind of surgery, outpatient or otherwise (except for wisdom tooth removal), but I can understand why your son is so nervous. You’ve got a treasure with C girlie! Yeh, Amazon has everything, and since we were already ordering my earbuds, I decided to order the sunglass case. Bf added one more thing and we got our free shipping. Whoo!
Ceejay – I’m sorry your weather’s been crummy. Hope you’re in for a warmup soon!
Dee – I’m not sure what knocks the crystals out of place, but right now I’m avoiding any exercises on the floor because lying back and doing any sort of head movements while my head is lowered make my world spin. Be careful! Thanks for your comment about my photo - I turned 50 last July. Wow, you do a lot of cycling! And how fun to do a spur-of-the-moment overnighters with family or at a campground. I assume you have friends/neighbors who can take care of your doggies when you decide to do that?? I don’t play Pickle Ball. Sounds interesting! I like your rules! And your activities sound more fun than the gym, that’s for sure. And you’re right, lots of people touching everything so that means a lot of germs. The recplex I go to for classes has wipe dispensers everywhere. Yum, your food sounds delish!!
Hellos to the rest of the Worldlies!!

I had my hair appointment last night. Bringing the shade of color lighter by a smidge. I already knew my natural hair color was lighter than my current color, but older photos I looked at the other day made me want to lighten up a bit to get back to that. We’ll keep doing that each time. I also mulled over a new cut, but ultimately I decided I need to do a bit more “research”. I’m not eager to have a high maintenance style, so I’ll need my stylist to tell me what it’ll take to achieve whatever look I choose and decide if I’m up for that. I'd much rather work with what my hair wants to do instead of fight it with a bunch of product and equipment.
Our Speakman brand shower head, which we installed shortly after we moved into the house in 2000, has finally gotten worn out and needs replacement. It had been gradually getting more and more difficult to swivel the past several months, and the head actually came off the swivel ball thingy a few times the past few days – guess it’s worn out from all the swiveling. Bf is going to replace it today, and – he’s going to buy another Speakman. It’s been great, and it obviously lasted us a good long time.
Too cute not to share....Sis just called me and said she put peas on Royce's highchair for him to eat. He then smashes one pea at a time with his index finger and eats it off his finger. I told her to try to record it on her phone. Smiles for Nanna!!
It looks like the snow and ice are beginning to melt off the roads. I need to get out and get the snow off my vehicle. The sun sure is bright on this snow.
My coworker called me this morning to tell me that we won't get paid today because the light office didn't show up for work. They went home yesterday at 3. They may be balking the city council. Trouble of it is the rest of us are required to get to work whether it's in rain, sleet, snow tornadoes etc. And the water plant get to answer the phone when they are not there. Makes me really aggravated. Sorry for the rant. Pay day will be tomorrow.
I drove myself home last night in about an inch of freezing rain and sleet. My coworker was nice and got the ice off the vehicle for me. Don't think it was to bad. I had the car warming up for 45 minutes. But I really appreciated it.
Wore the pedometer yesterday. Due to all the anxiety yesterday I had 7,000 steps also did my 10 push ups and bench dips.
I'll have to go back to read.
Had a great session with my trainer last night. She worked me hard, which is what I want her to do. She also took measurements and body fat percentage. In the past month, I've lost 10 lbs. of fat. I only gained 0.3 lbs of muscle, which is infinitely better than losing muscle, but I still want to increase my strength training workouts to 3x per week. I called my yoga teacher with the intention of canceling my Monday night yoga sessions, but she's such a good and supportive friend and I want to offer my support to her business, so I am going to try and go to the gym to do strength training before yoga class. If nothing else, the yoga will provide a good stretch/cool down.
====================
Happy - Sorry you had to deal with a blizzard, but good that DH was able to drop you off so you didn't have to drive in it. Your stir fry dinner sounds delicious. I got a great laugh out of you and your partner's ideas to spice up your anniversary, and your comment about being the duster/housecoat and wooden shoes type of couple. It is definitely tougher to design websites for all the multiple devices, platforms, etc. And it drives me crazy that IE doesn't play nice. Really Microsoft? You're not going to make friends if people can view websites better on Chrome or Firefox. Enjoy your anniversary!
Laura - Glad you were able to order a hard case for your sunglasses. How did the hair appointment turn out? How did I miss seeing your picture? Enjoy the warming temps. Wow, you are so organized to track all your appointments...I leave it to doctor's office to do all that and tell me when I'm due.
Annie - I checked with my cousin's daughter about the reptile and fish books and magazines. She only wants books/magazines with info about chameleons, so I'll send the rest to you. I hope to get them shipped tomorrow or this weekend. I hope the antibiotics help you get over your cold. And I hope you can go home a little early and rest. Lots of liquids, lots of rest. And I'm praying for your DS tomorrow. Please keep us posted on how he's doing. So cute about Royce's pea eating technique! Adorable!
Terra - I hope your doctor appointment goes well today. Good that you're getting in all your exercises today.
Dee - 20-50 miles on the bike every other weekend? Is that bicycle or motorcycle? Either way, that's a lot of miles on your derriere! Smart of you for keeping the camping gear in your car. I really like my job...but all the worry and stress with Bob's health and then the sadness of his passing made it difficult to concentrate and try and figure out how to "fix" the issues that my projects were having. I'm not familiar with pickle ball, but I love ping pong. Good rules to get active when you eat dessert! You mentioned the thing about the gym that I don't like...the people who go when they're sick and touch everything. Even though they provide paper towels and disinfectant to wipe down machines, not everyone does it. And that doesn't stop the person sitting next to you from sneezing or coughing. Ooooh, banana creme cake sounds delicious...along with lasagna. I found some good "bariatric friendly" recipes (meaning low sugar, low carb and high protein) for chicken parm made in the crock pot and chicken cordon bleu. I haven't tried them yet, but people in my support group say they're really good. I'll post them in a little bit.
Ceejay - Glad that the snow and ice are melting. How crazy that you don't get paid if the light office doesn't show up for work, and you're required to be at work regardless of the weather! Good for you for getting in 7,000 steps plus push ups and bench dips!

Good, good morning fine ladies,
I am SO GLAD to be up here with the sun shining and NO SNOW falling. Apparently they are getting doused in Memphis - not only snow but lots of snow on top of a heavy layer of ice. That will shut the city down for a week. Better them than us I say. The temperatures are supposed to warm up later in the week. I am so eager for spring and warmer weather that when I went to yoga yesterday I only wore a thin FILA brand t-shirt which is one of those smooth, wicking material AND GETS VERY COLD. I thought about putting a cardigan sweater on under my winter jacket but was running late and said I don't need it. I also wear stretch pants to yoga which are a thin material - not expensive yuppie see through Lulemon but they are good for exercise, not good for warmth. After yoga we stopped at Walmart to pick up a few things and the store was really crowded so we had to park at the far end of the parking lot. I generally don't zip my coat because it's got a sticky zipper and it's too hard getting into the truck with a zipped coat. Man I FROZE running to the store. At least I ran On last night's news I saw we broke a record for a new low "high" temperature for the day. It only got to 3 degrees. I was definitely not dressed for it. Brrr. But starting tomorrow it's supposed to warm up - still only 4 degrees out there.
Annie- I can totally understand how your son would be nervous - both from a health point of view and due to the type of surgery. Fingers crossed and healing prayers to him tomorrow. I hope your meds do the trick so that you can visit with him safely. Don't know what it is about this time of year but the sinuses seem to be in overdrive. I had to stop my movements at yoga yesterday twice because I was feeling the vertigo try and step up - but if I feel it coming and just lay quietly it will pass. Still a lot of sneezing going on and water in the head feeling. Maybe this means spring is coming fast I hope you can sneak out a bit early and get a restful nap in.
Laura - Amazon just about anything you want That's one of the reasons I was willing to move up to the wilderness here - the UPS man knows us very well. Glad you found what you needed. I suppose if the BPV procedure doesn't make a difference, your vertigo is caused by something else. Does the decongestant work for you?
Michelle - thanks for the anniversary wishes. Did your code finally work?
Terra - did you get snow and icy weather too?
Ceejay - I hope you can stay home or have someone pick you up. I see by my friend who lives north of Memphis that it's pretty ugly out there. We deal with the snow and cold because... what else can we do but deal with it At least with the cold hitting the eastern part of the country I can't be longing to go to somewhere warm like Florida. I'd be upset if we paid a lot of money for vacation to a warm get away and it wasn't actually warm. Anyway Ceejay - be careful - I hope you will be warm and safe.
Hello to the rest of the ladies. I have to go clean my good dress boots for tonight. Some of the salt seems to have taken a bit of the polish off the leather. Gotta spiff it up and look cute for my honey for dinner tonight I know Actually I have to find something light for lunch, we are doing Italian tonight. They have DH's request of baked ziti - I hope they have something I like - should have asked for tortellini
A quick post, working a half day to go be with my son for his 1:30 surgery. I will try to update the outcome either here or on FB. FB is easier by phone then 3FC.
Throat is still scratchy, head clogged. No headache yet. Amen. I think the throat thing is from sleeping with my big mouth open. lol. Anyway, hopefully by next week when the warmer weather comes in I will be in better health. We are supposed to see 60 degress next week. Yeah!!
Thank you for the prayers for my baby boy, they are very much appreciated.
Morning all. TGIF. Day didn’t start off great – I fell off a curb right at the train station. My right knee is a teeny bit scraped, the left will get a bruise, but otherwise nothing injured but my pride. Very chilly this morning, but I was bundled up, and I’m happy with the thought that it will be in the 20’s when I leave work today.
Annie – My thoughts go out to your son that his surgery goes uneventfully today. Cute story about R. eating the peas – did Sissy get a video of it? That would be so fun for you to see! Feel better soon!
Ceejay – I hope there aren’t any labor issues with the light office. Are they the ones that issue the paychecks? That’s inconvenient that you wouldn’t receive your check when you expected it. Your ride home the other night sounds terrible and so scary!! I’m glad you didn’t have any problems. Good your car was totally de-iced. It’s crazy to see people who drive around not having removed snow from their cars – so unsafe. Good job with the steps and pushups.
Michelle – Good job with your fat level is going down. How many times per week do you see your trainer? Do you do the same or similar types of workouts when you work out on your own? If you’re trying to fit in more strength moves, you know you can do a lot of strength training moves with just your own body weight right at home while you’re watching tv – squats, pushups, triceps dips, etc. Re the hair appointment – it went well, but my cut was nothing very different than usual, just took off about an inch, and had her angle the hair framing my face. I didn’t post a picture of that…the one I posted is back in February, still there...
Happy – Not zip up???!!! You’re crazy, woman!!! But I guess you’re not the only one. I see many examples of under-dressers every day on my commute. People wearing only a North Face fleece. Men with just a jacket and no hat or gloves, hands in pockets. People wearing short jackets – I hate hate hate when my rear and legs get cold. People who run across the street or down the block to grab a coffee or lunch, not wearing any outerwear. Brrrr. Re my vertigo – no noticeable change even after faithfully doing the movements and taking the decongestant all week. Sigh. Thankfully it’s not severe and I suppose I’ll have to wait it out. I might get online and see what other movements/routines are out there. How was your anniversary dinner at the Italian place?
Hellos to the rest of you!

I ordered my contact lenses yesterday, and also told the doc about they eyeglass frame/brands I was looking at. He will see if he can get them. If not, I can buy one myself and take them to him to have the lenses made by his lab.
I cancelled my Sunday newspaper subscription, and that will start mid-April. It’s not as good as it used to be and not worth wasting an entire morning reading it. I’ll still buy the paper myself after that, but I’m going to try to read it later in the day and do something productive around the house on Sunday mornings instead.
Home Depot doesn’t stock the Speakman shower heads in its stores, so it’s on order. Our current shower head is hanging in there, but I will not be swiveling it at all – it’s a bit of a shock to have it come off in my hand, lol. Oops.
I went to the circuit class last night. Good sweaty workout. Later on at home, I had a sporadic pain on the right side of my head behind my ear and that sort of made me worry that I might actually have an ear infection, but I took a pain med and don’t feel that today. I do, however, feel like I might have a UTI. That sucks. I took a med for that. Whatever.
Enough crabbiness. I’m glad it’s Friday. Tomorrow morning I’ll go to another circuit class. As long as I continue to push myself in that class, I will go to it. It’s more like an individual workout than a group class, so I noticed in the past that sometimes I would ease up on myself and not work as hard as I could. When I begin to do that, it might be time to switch to another class.
Nothing else planned this weekend, but I might drag bf back to the vision place to get his opinion of my frame choices in person. I’ll probably do a bit more sanding in the half bath, and there’s plenty of housework to be done. Oh the fun.
Okay, I’ll get this posted and get back to it. TTFN.

Hi chicks,
Good thoughts and prayers for your son today Annie - hope everything goes without incident and that they can take care of everything then need to. Liked the story about the peas - hey any way you can get vegetables in their mouths -
Laura - when I was working downtown and would sneak out of the office to grab a smoke and a Starbucks - would not wear a winter coat - didn't want to be obvious (totally not considering you could smell the cigarette on me ) Yes I should zip the coat - considering how I am cold all the time but I can't tell you how many parka zippers I blew out getting into the SUV so I got used to not zipping up. I'm so sorry to hear you took a tumble today. Ouch on the knee. I totally smiled at your "only bruised my pride" comment - can relate to that Regarding pushing yourself in class - I found that when my inner whiney voice acts up (I'm tired or this hurts or any of a number of excuses) I tend to tell myself "do something HARD today" and that gives me the oomph to put a lot more effort into my workout. Good for you for cancelling the newspaper and opting for a more productive Sunday morning.
Hello to the rest of the chicks
We had a nice dinner last night. It was nice, not fabulous. There have been some criticisms of the restaurant which I have defended but last night made me rethink my review. We had an early dinner - 5:30 so we were 1 of only 2 occupied tables in the restaurant at that time. We had ordered an appetizer (antipasto plate) as well as a mixed drink. The hostess/owner made the drinks for us and set them on the bar. Our waitress was chatting with the folks at the other table. The drinks sat on the bar for 15 minutes - I was about to grab them myself - when the waitress picked them up and brought them to us. I felt the bartender should have called the waitress or brought them to us. They had baked ziti on the menu as a special - DH asked for that ahead of time and they complied. They had a cream of garlic soup special and I wanted to try that but didn't want 2 appetizers AND a plate of pasta so I had a shared antipasto with DH, the soup (which was interesting to try, not sure I'd get it again) and had a calamari appetizer as my meal. I also tried a cosmo as a mixed drink (amaretto, rum and cranberry juice - good!) and we capped off the meal with a cappuccino and shared a panna cotta with raspberry couli. It was a nice meal - DH really liked his, I enjoyed mine but for my birthday next month I am picking a different place. We went to the casino afterwards - DH blew his wad - did ok on the slot machines but then lost it on the craps table. I walked out of there with $250 when a slot machine I was cussing out paid off BIG All in all, we had a nice evening. Tonight we are picking up pizza and heading over to a friend's house to chat and play some games. Tomorrow is a music gathering in a nearby town - not sure if we will go to that. It's supposed to be 20 degrees out and is really sunny right now - DH bundled up and headed outside. He is eager to get some sun and air. I need to grab some lunch and make a batch of chocolate chip cookies to bring tonight. I should drop off an overdue library book but we can do that when we go pick up the pizza later. Anyway - have a nice weekend everyone. Keep us posted on your son Annie.
We've had two bright sunny days after our ice/snow. Think Paragould got around 8 inches. We probably got 5 inches at the most.
Yes the main offices, Mayor, human resource, accounting etc are at the light office. Not sure why it's called the light office except that is where we pay our light bills.
My pay check came this morning around 7.15 and I was in the shower. One of these day's my bosses are going to start calling me before they come or they may get the shock of their lives. The snow is melting off the roads but I'm going to wait till Sunday before I get out on my own. I am already beginning to get cabin fever, but I will not be going to Paragould this week end.
Getting excited about going to Texas next week. Trying to decide on what to take with me.

Happy
Yum pizza sounds good right about now. Not sure what I'm going to have for dinner. We were supposed to get down to 12 degree's last night! Nice win at the slot machine.
Annie
Hope your son is in recovery by now. Little ones can be so cute.
Laura
Ouch on the fall. Falling is the one thing I'm afraid of doing on this snow. There for I'm staying inside until tomorrow at least. I need to start the vehicle and let it run.
Dee
I'm not familiar with pickle ball!
Susie
30 years is a long time to be with one bank.
Terra
What are some good things you are cooking in school? I need some ideas.
Michelle
I'd take the 10 pounds loss of fat with the .3 gain of muscle. You are doing well with all the exercise.
I'm so dang busy this weekend. Yesterday was working out with my trainer doing arms, chest and back. My legs still hurt from Wednesday's leg workout. I'm glad my upper body isn't as sore. After the gym, I went over to my step-mom's and she hemmed a pair of pants for me (Size 10). I think they are a bit snug, but she said they looked really good. Then we played a game of scrabble.
Last night, D and I had a date night, we went to Chili's for dinner, and we went to the movies and saw The Theory of Everything. What a great movie!!
This morning, I've got website work and some cleaning to do. Then at 11 or noon, I'm going over to Bob's place to help his sister with clearing out stuff so that home can be put on the market for sale. After that, I need to take Santa to the dog park, we haven't been there since Monday. Then home for more cleaning, and hopefully some relaxing.
Tomorrow I'm going to the gym, and then home for more cleaning. I'm planning on making chicken parmesan for dinner tomorrow. I've got a recipe for making it in the crock pot.
No time for personals right now...website work is calling.
I didn't want you to think that I got stuck in a snow bank and no one could find me so I'm going to do a quick post.
I did read through the thread and feel caught up (somewhat).
Happy Anniversary to Happy and her Erik!
Dee: It sounds like DH won't have another pizza when it is close to anniversary dinner time! lol
Michelle: Glad to see that you have things rolling again at work and back with the trainer.
Annie: I saw your post on FB about DS and I have been praying for him. How is his recovery going? Congrats on that raise girl!! Of course you had to fix the expense report for your boss...why do you think you go that raise? LOL!
Terra: I have to be careful with any acidic foods because I have a bladder disease that if I eat them it gives me frequency and sometimes pain that feels like a uti, but it is not.
I thought your comment about taking a day off from working out but not dieting we cute. It made me smile.
Laura: How about a picture with your new lighter hair and new glasses?
Hold June 20 for KI....we will see what Annie has to say.
Ceejay: Winter weather is stressful...let's hope that it goes away soon! I hope you got paid!!!
Shad: Saw some FB pictures of the houseboat...looks like you were having a lovely time.
I need to get in the shower. We are having our taxes done at 2 today. The AARP people who come to the library had a cancellation and so we got in earlier than the date we had to reschedule for when they had system issues a couple of weeks ago. I so hope we get a refund! I sure don't want to pay!
Checking in, it's late. Snow is melting and I will get out of the house tomorrow. Think my window peeper is back. Saw foot prints in the snow. Will investigate more tomorrow. Will have to be very careful about being in the back bedroom and bathroom. Will call ADT tomorrow to help me with the camera.

Happy Sunday Morning all,
Hope you all moved the clocks forward. I slept for a rare 8 hours this morning - generally I sleep 5 or 6. And I didn't even take some Zquill or a decongestant! Guess I needed some extra zzzz's. Yesterday we just hung around the house - I cleaned bathrooms and did several loads of laundry, went through the pile of newspapers I have here - the big sheets go to the thrift store for wrapping and packing, the smaller advertisments paper stock goes in the recycling bin. I didn't feel much like cooking dinner last night but I felt less ambitious to get dressed up to go out so we just had some BLT sandwiches and in my case had a BLAT (bacon, lettuce, Avocado and tomato sandwich). It was yummy. Probably the only way I like bacon. Kitty is going crazy - the warm sun is bringing out the ladybugs and black house flies from where ever they hide in the attic over the winter. They only come out one at a time and sit on the ceiling and old cross eyed Nina spots them from 100 yards and starts yelping and chattering. Often times we don't know what she's hollering about and then we spot the fly in the corner of the ceiling. What a goof! Yesterday I also ordered some seedling starter soil (I already have the pots) as well as a fine mister. I'm glad I ordered it now even though it's still a bit early to start them because I'm not the only one thinking about this apparently. I had to try a couple of locations because many were out of stock on the soil. Today I have 2 more rooms I want to deep clean and I signed up for a few online cooking classes - they are broken into 30 minute sessions so I can break up viewing and take notes. We are all excited because the weather is breaking and it might even get to 50 degrees on Tuesday - phoo on the Thrift shop - I'm going outside to play We are ALL tired of winter here. The birds are eating us out of house and home - can't believe how busy the feeders are.
Ceejay - that is creepy about the window peeper. The one good thing about snow is the ability to see markings on the ground. We just have little paw prints - I hope you have curtains on your windows. Definitely be monitoring that camera. Ick.
Susie - I hope you get a big refund on your taxes! Thanks for the anniversary wishes.
Annie - glad the surgery turned out ok for your son - I'm sure you are pampering him this weekend.
Michelle - congrats on getting into size 10 pants!!!!
Hello to the rest of the chicks. Let me get on with the day - with an hour short today is going to fly by. Enjoy yours.
