Good Morning all you find ladies!
Good news on DS. It is indeed an infection. On an antibiotic and stronger pain meds. He has been doing everything to the T the docs have told him to do. They did tell him to get out and walk a little bit to get the blood flowing. DEE..one good thing is he is not a smoker, actually neither of my kiddos are. At least they are doing one thing right in life. Too much cancer in our fam to mess with ciggies.
Today is Royce's first birthday. Where has time gone? Seems like he was just born. He is such a sweet little guy!! Saturday is the big 1 birthday party. I am taking meatballs (with the grape jelly and chili sauce), asian salad with the ramen noodles, 7 layer taco dip and iced tea. Sis is having Chris cook wings on the grill, hot cheese dip, cupcakes and a few other things. I am sure it will be a birthday feast.
HAPPY...hope you are doing better. I haven't really had anymore vertigo since that week after the hospital. Just a little light headedness here and ther or if a quick turn. I don't know if that exercise on FB I sent you will work or not, but it may be worth a shot. H#ll getting older, guess it beats the alternative.
DANIELLE..welcome to the worldly girls. Yes you are more than welcome to join in. Great support group, very kind sweet ladies and we all play nicely for the most part.
CEEG....hope your trip to Dallas is going smoothly. Oh what fun! Enjoy your time off and try to relax a bit.
DEE...thanks for the encouraging words about my son. He is now on the mend as mentioned above. Bless his heart. There is always something going on in his life. It was a gorgeous day here yesterday also, once the fog burnt off. Today is supposed to be even better. Loving that sunshine and warmth.
TERRA...you sure had a busy day yesterday. Good for you on helping with the lunch. A break from exercise is good every now and then. I have been on break for about 20 years. haha
CHELLE...I must say I am so proud of your hard work with healthy eating and exercising. Let me know how much it cost to ship the books. I imagine a lot considering how heavy they are, yeeee.
LAURA...I very much dislike taxe season. I am doing a friends and her bfs taxes and my sons. How funny we use an accountant for our own. Too much stuff with C being in the biz for himself. This blonde brain cannot and does not want to be put through that. lol Bummer on the train situation. Waiting for the next train is time you can't get back. bleh!
SHADDIE...cracked me up with the grumpy taxi driver and then you being grumpy, sheese, remind me not to ride in a taxi with you...haha. Then again, 12 hour work days can make a person real grumpy..hope it smooths out and the nitwits catch on.
SUSIE...come out, come out where ever you are! You are always so busy with work. Hope your day is going great!
Better get to busy and get some work done. Have a meeting at 10 but then the rest of the day is open.
Hugs sisters.

to Susie and Laura! I hope everyone has a fantastic day!
Wow that went quickly!! Your party foods sound delish – it definitely is a feast. I could have sworn I started to look at that FB re the vertigo, but of course I probably got sidetracked by something. I’ll look again. Keeping up with all the tax rules is a job in itself, so unless you have a very simple situation, best to have the professionals handle it.
My employer has a community affairs person and we have volunteer opportunities several times per year. One time we participated in a Habitat for Humanity project. We’ve done painting and other improvement projects at area schools, and there’s been other projects such as tutoring and tree planting. I participated in one called “Sit, Stay & Read”, which is a reading and writing program, and includes students reading to dogs (they’re not going to criticize or judge!). Let me clarify – it’s not bf’s sister, it’s a friend of bf’s whose sister has late stage cancer. Bf is friendly with her and other family members, so he plans to try and visit her this week or next week. She’s now staying at her daughter’s house, and between that fact and what bf learned of her condition, she sadly doesn’t have much time left. However, bf said the daughter’s husband seemed taken aback when he brought up the matter of finding future homes for the dogs. I know it’s a sad, sad time for them, but this will have to be addressed. Re the vertigo, I honestly don’t know what made it happen. I did a week of the decongestant and that didn’t substantially help, and my allergies are generally well-controlled most of the time to begin with. It’s not severe, and it bearable, so right now I’m just living with it and hoping it’ll fade away. Haha, I like your Cartman line.
We ordered a Tulip tree, aka, yellow poplar as our first choice and a London Planetree, Exclamation variety (cultivar?) as our 2nd choice. Fingers
we get our 1st choice. Train rides are not always relaxing. You have to put up with the foibles of others – coughing, B.O., talking loudly, snoring, seat hogging, etc. And you put up with whatever minor and major service disruptions befall the train or other trains on the line. But it sure beats driving all the way downtown!!!
Of course you’d never leave Santa in the car on a warm day!! Our town’s dog park also has that two-gate entrance area and it usually works out well. Too funny about people bringing their own food into the dog park. I’m not sure what they’re thinking, especially with little kids. Even little kids without food can be dangerous – when the dogs get to running around, everyone has to watch out! Sometimes the safest place is on top of the picnic tables, lol. Sad news re the friend’s niece’s husband. What a tough time for them. Congrats on your new grand nephew – big baby!
I love your avatar photo.
I brought the Garmin GPS with us. Garmin is very good at finding physical addresses, not so good at finding landmarks and points of interest. I did get us to the town he wanted but had no specifics as to an actual location. We drove through town and stopped at a Chamber of Commerce office to get some directions. He parked the car and realized there was a pool of icy slush water on his side so he went to move the car while I went into the office. I put one foot on the stairs and as soon as I did that I found myself flailing and flying through the air. I could not get my footing and crashed down hard on my left side. All I was thinking was to try and keep my head upright as to not bash it in on the side where there were some rough, sharp wood planks. I wasn't even sure what caused me to fall and I had a hard time getting up. I was finally able to get to a standing position and saw that right below the first step was a sheet of sheer black ice from when the snow melted off the roof and dripped right over the stairs. It matched the dark asphalt perfectly so I didn't even notice it when I stepped there. By the time I got upright, DH walked over so he didn't see anything. Just as well, sometimes when I have tripped in the past he has acted less than sympathetic and more like "you need to be careful and watch where you are walking" which irritates me to no end. Thank a lot - NOT. I cautioned him about the ice and just like a man, he stepped right on it and of course he had better shoes so he did not slide at all - not sure what that proved.
I'm going to have to make it a point to watch the movie Maleficent as I am not really familiar with the characters of her or Ursula. I think the lady who plays Cruella does a bang up job. Glenn Close was a fantastic Cruella too. I do like how the show Once Upon a Time keeps things interesting as they spin their tale.
