Good Morning...thought I would drop in before I head out to the dr to find out bloodwork. Will post later the results.

Shad....YUMMY BBQ. I will be stopping by at your next BBQ.

Michelle...It is not a sin to miss a work out due to be overworked otherwise. Go easy on yourself. I know, easier said than done!

MEL...thanks for the hugs, I certainly need them. Calsification doesn't sound good either, that was the start to my mom's breast cancer....calcium deposits. Fingers crossed and positive attitude.

Ceejay...Hey to right back.

Patty...Great job on eating healthy, it does make one feel better when we don't have all that bad junk in our system.

Will check back later with lab results.

Hello to everyone...

Have a marvy day.

Love and hugs

Mornin' chicks,

Happy Mardi Gras/Fat Tuesday. Apparently it is a bigger thing down here than it was up north. If I was back in Chicago it would be Pazchi (poon-ch-skee) Day. Those fat pillows of fried dough stuffed with various fruit and creme fillings. We are having a small thank you to the employees event at work today. We're doing Mardi Gras. I get to hand out beads. Just having some cake (cheap sheet cake not King cakes) and some Cajun/Zydeco music. Fortunately (and I say that because you don't know the people I work with ) there will be no traditional flashing of bods to get the beads. Just show up and we'll give you some

Got a doctor's appointment this morning first though.

Annie sending you and good wishes that everything is ok on the boob front. I had calcification one year - they monitored it every 6 months for about 18 months and then everything was ok. Hope it's the same for you. It is a scary feeling but as everyone said to me, fretting is no good for you so don't fret until you have good reason to fret.

Patty - good for you on the healthy eating. That is the eternal question. If we do well and we feel great for it then WHY do we always fall back to our bad habits??? If you ever figure that one out, let me know.

Hope you had a good rest Michelle and are feeling more perky this morning. How did your meeting go with the petsitter?

Ceejay -I am always astounded by the amount of steps you get into your day. Wow! I know how hard it is to get to 5,000 much less double that - keep up the good work!

Mel - how did the shopping trip go? Get all you needed? A treat for the grandson too? I think he's your adopted SON by now Mr. Feral is resting again this morning (he walked off yesterday without getting fed). Said it's nice to be all cuddly & sleepy and you should do the same.

Ok Shad, from now on, you can do the barbeques Are you all settled in now?

Good morning Nae

Time for me to hop in the shower and make sure I shave my legs - don't want the doc thinking she's sitting in the forest

A quick check in for me. My meeting yesterday went well. And although I didn't sleep well last night, I'm doing better than I was yesterday. Hopefully, I'll get a good night's sleep one night this week. I'm planning on going to Yoga class tonight.

Annie, I'm sending you : and that all goes well.

Happy - Enjoy your Mardi Gras celebration! We have Pazchi's here too, but I've never had one.

Shad - your barbeques sound yummy! When's the next one so I can crash it!

Ceejay - I'm glad you get a day off this week.

A big to everyone! I'll try and check in later.

Love and hugs,

Bariatric Check Up: All and all, everything was good. Waist went from 34 to 28. Vit A was 35 and should be at least 38; iron was 8 and should be at least 10; potassium was 3.2 and should be at least 3.6. The doc was pleased with me overall. Suggested an iron supplement and eating for the potassium and Vit A. I already take a Vit A supplement.

Tomorrow the boob work out.

Love and hugs

Michelle...I still feel fat tho, even tho when I hold up my pants out of the dryer, they look small like they should fit Samantha. I just cannot get the "fat" image out of my head. And the bit of extra skin I have, when I look at it, I think gez, I need to lose more weight. God played a cruel joke on women....periods, giving birth, fatness, shaving legs and pits and whatnot, squatting to pee, wiping.........

Morning all,
Quick one as I have some work I must start on this morning. No more slacking off around here any time soon. I have to master the 'joys' of Maintenance Plans this morning and they were always my week spot. Then I guess I will have to explain it to the noncoms who don't appear to have a clue between up and down. But first to get myself ready for it since I don't always understand them either!!!
My co-worker has gone home sick and it will be me fielding the questions today. Blurk - not fun.

Annie - hope the boob squish comes out clear for you today. I once had a squish and the technician came out and said that I should go back and get it done again since I had a Christmas tree come up on the x-ray!!!! sounds dangerous! But it turned out to be a series of veins and ducts and things all in a row and nothing serious at all. Then another time they called me back because I had a visible spot, but they decided it was a lymph node because it was perfectly round and in a spot when one could sort of expect to see a node. So there you go, do not worry until there is something to worry about.
Happy and Michelle - those P??? thingys sound okay, but do they have to have such a difficult name???? You didn't introduce me to those while I was there! Deep fried pickles, beans and anything else you can name, but not those.

Okay - I'll get back to the rest of the personals later. For now I need to get up the nose of a person who is going to rent me an apartment I think and maybe I will talk to the management agency regarding money and allowances again. I'm tired of the hassle already. I'm tired of being sardined into trams and trains already. Bring back the mines!!!!!

Shrove Tuesday...... our church puts on a pancake dinner for the last 50 years and so I helped this year. It was so much fun. The hall was decorated so great for the Mardi Gras....the little girls are all dressed up and helping to clean up and set up table settings as the group changes. It is a nice tradition.

Hope all is well with everyone and prays for the boobs to be clean and healthy.
Hope everyone is well and take good care!
Off to nite nite for Toby and Me....he was a good dog to day long day in the car......but he just loves it....crazy little guy. Mel hope you get your outing on Thursday......
Peace,
Rose

Good morning all,

We are in this cycle of warm up, warmth brings the rains, rain brings the cool again, rinse, lather, repeat... Much better for sleeping in than rising in the morning.

Things went fine with the doc yesterday. The Mardi Gras thing at work was ok too. I broke down and had a piece of chocolate cake. It was good - mostly cake, very little frosting. Within 30 minutes I started feeling really woozy. It wasn't outright bathroom sick but an uncomfortable feeling no less. I think I'm really getting sugar sensitive. I guzzled down 2 big bottles of water in an effort to "wash it out". When I got home I didn't feel like making dinner so we picked up Subway sandwiches. I had my favorite - the sweet onion chicken teryaki with lettuce, tomatoes, carrots and cucumbers. Now that tasted good! I think Patty said it - why if we feel so good doing the right thing, do we still crave that which isn't good for us???? This morning I am major bloated and feeling like a parade balloon. I will most likely be using my "free pass / no weigh in" tomorrow.

Shad - Paczkis don't have a funny name - you are just not used to being around ethnic eastern Europeans in your part of town Not so strange sounding to my ears - nor I think to Michelle's either.

Mel - you know, it's a pretty good thing to say that you look better now than 5 years ago so keep up whatever (good I hope) stuff that is having you look better.

Annie - I don't think we ever really see ourselves for what we truly look like. I think its sorta funny that not only do we not see ourselves losing weight but also, at some mysterious point, when the tables turn, we are also in denial that we are GAINING weight. I agree with Michelle - I am 2nd in line envying your 28 inch waist

Guess I'd better get out of here and on with the day - after all not like I'm made of sugar and gonna melt in the rain

Happy Wednesday ladies -

I went to the gym last night planning on doing an Abs class and a Yoga class...but the kickboxing class looked so fun, that I did that instead of Yoga. My body is a bit sore today, but not too bad. I'm going to try and get to the gym tonight...but I have website stuff to do too...so we'll see. Today and tomorrow we're supposed to have rainy/icy weather. Yuck. That won't make driving any fun at all.

Annie - I hope your mammo and ultrasound go well today to put your mind at ease. As for feeling fat...it's just amazing how enduring our body images are. I think back to my 20s when I was about 90 lbs lighter and I thought I was fat then. At this point in my life, my doc has told me not to shoot for weight that low. He said if I could lose 50 to 75 pounds that would be plenty.

Mel - Good idea to make a box of food for the kids to take to the trailer! That's very nice of you.

Shad - Sounds like you have your hands full with your new job, but I'm sure you'll excel at it...you always seem to excel at whatever you do! As for deep fried pickles....Wisconsin State Fair is the place to be if you want fried food on a stick! Everything you can possibly imagine is deep fried and put on a stick, including deep fried Twinkies and Snickers bars! No, I've never tried one. I know people who have and it made them nauseous. I stick to corn on the cob, a hamburger or steak sandwich, and maybe...a famous Wisconsin State Fair cream puff.

Rose - The pancake dinner sounds really nice! I hope you're having a great day today.

Happy - What a coincidence! Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki is my fave sub at Subway, and I have it the same way you do! Are you sure you don't melt in the rain? You are sweet enough to be made of sugar!

Patty, Ruth, Ceejay and everyone, I hope you're having a great day!

I'd better get back to work!

Love and hugs,

That makes three in the crowd that likes sweet onion chicken terriyaki from subway as their number one choice.
I'm so happy that I get a day off before I start my stretch of 7 days.
I was really on a carb binge yesterday and would really like to know what my blood sugar level was before and after the binge. I was a little shaky before I started eating everything insight.
I'm minus one boss today. He went home sick, throwing up kind.

Annie
congrats on a good dr's visit. I'd be happy with a 35 inch waist line. I also have calcium deposits.

Michelle
ewwww on the fried twinkie and snickers. I'll take mine plain but wouldn't mind having some good Wisconsin cheese.

Rose
The pancake supper sounded like fun.

Happy
How many free passes does one get in WW? Just curious?

Mel
Great idea to give your kids staples. Glad you are feeling better. Take care of yourself.

It's time to monitor the plant again. ughh

Today is Ash Wednesday - the start of Lent. Although I am not a "practicing" Catholic anymore, I am very much a practicing Christian and I still hold to some traditions I grew up on. One of them is not eating meat on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. I try not to eat meat on Fridays through Lent but am not always successful. It does make for some creative meal planning at times.

Today I had what I have not had since oh ... maybe the 1960's. A cold scrambled egg sandwich. Back when I was in grammar school it was before they invented school kitchens and we brown bagged our lunches. Lenten delicacies included a slab of Velveeta processed "cheese" on bread, scrambled eggs or a kid's favorite - a ketchup sandwich. Yeah, I know ICK ICK double ICK. But when you grew up eating the stuff... Remember too that not only did we bring our lunches but there was no refrigeration except if it was winter and the coat closet in the back of the classroom faced the cold outer wall.

For some reason today I had a hankerin' (the south is trying to infiltrate me ) for a scrambled egg sandwich. Of course it can't be refrigerated and it was just as good as I remembered. So if I'm not here tomorrow, I'm reserving a seat on the porcelain throne

I also had a cup of baked potato soup with some grated cheese from the cafeteria. Though now that I think about it, there might have been some BACON in that bloody soup. Well ... I guess I will fall back on tradition which says 1) if you didn't realize it, then it's ok and 2) it's more of a "sin" to waste it by chucking it than to eat it. I had tea for lunch, day 1 of no Coca Cola and so far, I'm strong

Oops boss called. Back later.

Ceejay - I'm glad you're getting a day off!

Happy - I like scrambled egg sandwiches too...but I eat them hot/warm...not sure if I could take them at room temperature, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. Good luck with the no soda.
