Annie - That is WONDERFUL news! Congrats on giving up cursing for lent. I'm not sure I could do that - sometimes I have quite the potty mouth.

I've been debating what to do this evening....gym or website work....gym or website work.....gym or website work.

I think I'm going to opt for the gym this evening since the weather is supposed to be nasty tomorrow and even though my fave gym classes are tomorrow night....I might not be able to get there....so I can do website work tomorrow.

Today is Thursday and I have landed myself in a whole heap of work which should keep me busy for at least 5 years!!!! My co-worker (some of you will remember him from the 'chickie roosters' I mentored in Townsville a couple of years back) is having a nervous breakdown and is telling me I am a lifesaver - pooh bar! He'll have us both in tears if he is not careful. So when he gets back from being sick, we will need to sit down and work out the finer details and implement some change management. If we can see it written down instead of leaping from pillar to post, life might just improve somewhat. Meantime we dig and delve in places we really should not be and sometimes come up with the answers. Sometimes I surprise myself.
I'm still dealing with the letting twits re leasing an apartment. Tomorrow I go to have a look at one which is a step forward and an achievement I guess.

Nae - you'd never get away with leaving a dog in the car down here. It gets far to hot for them and they pass out from heat exhaustion or someone calls the police and the RSPCA and the owner gets a wrecked car and a fine. Glad you had a good Shrove Tuesday (Pancake day)

Happy - nice avatar ! I have a slide show of the Butchart Gardens playing on my computer at the moment, I might have to go to Singapore as well today - to keep the sanity at a reasonable level you see!!!! I think you will be okay with a small bit of choc cake and no icing, as long as you have been exercising a bit. Sorry but those fruit puffs do have a funny name from where I am standing - however puha and pakeha probably sounds 'interesting' from where you sit as well. And we wont get into the Canadian Poutine either.
We often used to have mashed hard boiled eggs for our sandwiches. Mind you we had hens so it was easy to get egg sandwiches and cheap as well. Love mashed eggs (mashed with a little single cream and salt and pepper) on brown bread. Silly me, I left my lunch at home tody. I am so stupid at times. Nice fresh roll with a bit of ham and mustard and lettuce and tomato!!! Bummer.
I've never had a subway sandwich, so I can't say which is best!

Michelle - they have deep fried Mars bars here and in NZ they used to fry up Toasties - which were already pretty much fried previously so go figure. I've never been a fan so I have no problems with them. I'll give the deep fried a bit of a miss if it's okay with you lot. That sort of stuff is food porn anyway so why are we talking about it - remind me again. Oh yes it was Happy's fault with the Pasczkis (sp)

Annie - great news on the boob squish success. See we told you didn't we???

Mel - what are you doing to yourself here. Get with it. That's painful.

Ceejay, Madcat, Ruth and the lurking Carla -

Gotta go. Who knows something about cost centres, general ledger codes, wbs elements and the like and where they are placed in the MM module and why do they pop up at inopportune times???? I need your help.

See ya

Yes Ash Wednesday.....Happy you will be just fine and it is sometimes a very comforting thing to have sometraditions that just remind you of the connections that are outside of ourselves. My upbringing is far removed from the Episcopal Chapel I now attend and my brother is sure I am headed in the wrong direction. But I have really enjoyed so many things about it.

Mel, what is the world girl do you do to get those eyes in such trouble. There wasn't fireman watching that evoked such a pop! Take care of yourself I thought we were just getting you back. Sending good vibes.

Shad, you are so sweet giving me all those ideas. The wedding is Oct 3rd. so there is plenty of time to offer me lots of ideas, I welcome them. Good luck on the apartment hunting. As for Toby and the car....he is well looked after and in the summer it is different issue for him in the car. During the cooler days he has a great blanket a heating pad and he loves it. Even at home when I am out in the yard I can tell he wants in the car and so I open the door and sure enough he jumps in and just settles down for hours.

Annie, yeah...so happy for your good report. We shall celebrate that news!

Michelle, you sound busy but trying to balance good exercise program into your routine..... what a good example you are for me.

Ceejay, I am trying to do 10000a day or more also. I have a fairly accurate pedometer that helps me alot. I move so much in the clinic that I get sometimes 4miles in just at work. With the better weather I am able now to go to my favorite wild life park area and get in some good walking.

Hello to all the worldlies, come stop by for a minute or two and tell us what you have been doing.....we love to hear from you!!!!! March is just around the bend.

Peace,
Rose

Morning chicks,

My PC was giving me alot of problems this morning. I hope the hard drive isn't going. DH and I have the same Dells and he's had to replace his hard drive twice already.

Lost my time to read and post while I was cussing at this thing hanging and booting and churning so I'll have to try and get back later.

Mel on the eye. What next! Geez.

Glad you like the avatar Shad - it was the most springlike pic I had at the moment.

Oct 3 is my sister's birthday Rose. A good day to party

Very glad to hear all is well Annie.

Michelle - I cannot for the life of me picture you as a cusser

Just a brief note this morning as I'm off to Paragould to have the Rav diagnosed again so they can order parts. I should take it to the Toyota
in Jonesboro. This will take up most of my day but it needs to e done.

Mel
((hugs)). Hope your eyes feel better.

Annie
That it is good news. I know you are relieved.

I found out yesterday that my bosses have hired a new employee, another woman. She is starting today. To be honest women do a better job in the plant than men do.

I'll be back later today and to do personals.

Oh Happy Thursday Worldlies..........

Well Ms. Bella rolled in some kind of sh*t last night. I gave her a bath and she still smelled quite badly this morning. So at 5:30 AM I was bathing Hella Bella in the sink with laundry soap and using the sprayer on her. I ended up washing, scrubbing, rinsing and repeating 3 times. I was 15 minutes late to work because of it. I just couldn't leave her in the laundry room all day smelling like poo. The stench has permeated my nostrils...that is all I can smell, or maybe it is my breath. lol

Michelle...good for you for opting the gym. I wold of chosen the website as you all know I do not like exercise.

MEL...holy cow girl. Get those eyes better.

SHAD Yes, the all knowing chicks were so right, once again on the boob issues. I should listen more closely......I think being so busy at work is makeing up the the time you had off.

Rose...I do 7000 steps a day. I want to get to 10000. I started out only doing about 3500. I just started in January.

Happy...I have had a Dell since 2006 with no problems...knock on wood, maybe you all just got lemons...

Howdy Ceejay..

Tomorrow night my brother's band...Little Eddie and the Fossils, play at Mickey's Irish Pub. I have about 25 people going. Several from past places of work and some from Humana. Tony baby is going with also. My nephew is going to sit in on the drums for 4 songs. That is so cool as he is the son of the brother that is in the band. I get all goosebumpy just thinking about it.

Hello to all I may of missed...

Love and Hugs

Happy Thursday (almost Friday) ladies -

It's a rainy cold day in Wisconsin, and it's supposed to turn into a snowy cold night. I didn't make it to the gym last night because my back was really hurting. And I didn't get the website stuff done either (I'll do that tonight and tomorrow night). But my back feels better today. I had physical therapy at lunch time, which went well, but I'm a little bummed. I mentioned to my PT that I did kickboxing on Tuesday night, and she said that I really need to focus on non-impact cardio (like recumbent biking) and strength training. So I can't do kickboxing, step, or the fun dance classes either. At least not for awhile. I'm planning on getting to the gym tonight for cardio and strength training unless the roads are really slick and icy.

Shad - I hope you find a place to live soon and that the workload gets less chaotic and more manageable.

Rose - Walking in the wildlife park sounds so nice. I'm hoping to do more hiking and park walking when the weather gets nicer.

Happy - Good luck with your PC. And when I'm really angry or frustrated, I can cuss so bad it might make a sailor blush!

Ceejay - That's good that your bosses have hired more help! And so nice you have a day off to take care of errands.

Annie - As I mentioned, I didn't do the gym or the website last night....just took it easy. Tomorrow night sounds like a lot of fun! I hope Hella Bella smells better when you get home. Why do they find the smelliest stuff to roll in??

A big to everyone!

Gotta get a few more things done before I leave for home.

Love and hugs,

Morning all,
Quick one as there is work to be done and sh*t to be sorted. I have an apartment as from the 10 March. It's costing me a fortune, but it comes complete with cleaner, internet access, gym, pool etc. It's close to work so I can walk to and from and it is close to the 'in' area of Southbank by the river so I can go running up and down the tracks as well - when it isn't smokey, rainy, or snowing or blowing!!! and yes it does do most of those things in Melbourne.

It's Friday and I am really, really looking forward to this weekend and doing a bit of exercise other than deciding whether to take a crowded tram or hoof it down to the office. I try to hoof it. It only takes 15 minutes and it is good for me. I already hate the crowded trams. The trains I can take. Go figure!

Don't know what's on the menu for the weekend. We have some mutual friends coming over for drinks and nibbles and maybe dinner tonight, but Saturday/ Sunday is mostly clear. R wanted to go to Phillip Island to see the Fairy Penguins come ashore and we may do that if the fires don't get in the way. I need to organise a trip home as well for a weekend but that will be in a couple of weeks so plenty of time to book that one.

Okay - better go, the first of todays problems just landed on my desk.

Morning Ladies, Yeah it is Friday!!!!! Yesterday I had the opportunity to go put the finishing touches on a new wheelchair for a patient that has been waiting for this for about a year! It was fun and it is so pretty...if a wheelchair can be pretty.

Nice to hear from you Mel! Hope you get better very very soon!

Hope the apartment is going to work out well for you SHad.....sounds like it offers a lot of nice extras.......

To all the other worldlies a good productive weight watching day. May we all make good choices for ourselves.

Peace,
Nae

Howdy chicks,

One sleepy chick here. We had some grand lightning and thunder last night. DH woke me up twice. It was a choppy night for sleep. TGIF as it's going to be a long day I think. There's lots of accidents out on the road and apparently the road I take to work is under a foot of water. That means taking the other road which is a traffic nightmare. Guess I will be "making some sailors blush" this morning

I need to get an early start and we are taking my boss to lunch today so I might not get back until tomorrow. Happy Friday chicks! Sorry for my lack of personals today.

Happy Friday ladies -

TGIF! This morning my car was covered in ice...it took about 15 minutes time to scrape the windshield off just enough so I could see a little. Have I mentioned I can't wait for spring? At least we didn't get more than a dusting of snow...not the 4"-6" that they were predicting. I went to the gym last night and did a strength training class followed by a 1/2 hour of cardio on a machine that's sort of a recumbent stepper (and is physical therapist approved). Tonight will be for website work. This weekend, we're planning on going to a dog show...which should be lots of fun. Any chance I get to be around lots of animals is always a good time for me. I don't know yet if we're going Saturday or Sunday. The rest of the weekend will be spent doing the usual stuff...grocery shopping, laundry, cleaning. And hopefully I'll get a little bit of time to relax and read a book or something.

Shad - DH and I were watching a TV show called Mega World last night. It's a show about mega structures and mega machinery around the world...this particular episode was about Australia. It featured the Super Pit gold mine in Western Australia, the Fire King high tech fire truck that is used to fight bush fires in NSW, the "Road Trains" which are like what we call "semis" but with 4 or 5 trailer cars pulled behind the cab - I guess they mostly use them in the to haul stuff around the bush as well, a huge catamaran ferry, and the Sydney Harbor Bridge and the high tech system they use for managing the traffic flow on the bridge - with rolling marquee type lane signs and MOVING medians that open and close lanes of traffic (that blew me away). Anyway, it was very interesting and I thought of you throughout. I'm glad to hear you found an apartment - and it sounds very nice too. Since it costs a fortune, will the company be paying for it or at least subsidizing the cost? Will you be staying with your friend until March 10 then? It snows in Melbourne? I so wish I could go with you to see the Fairy Penguins!! I've seen them on TV. They are SO adorable! Can you please, please, please take photos if you go?? When DH and I eventually do get to Australia, we want to see penguins, along with lots of other cool stuff.

Mel - I'm so glad the eyes are well enough for you to post, and I hope they continue to get better. I am as of yesterday officially listening to my PT...so no smacking is necessary. Sounds like you're having a heckuva time with the govt. Why is it that they treat law abiding, good people as criminals and leave criminals alone? I'm glad you're making progress, and also helping Richie and Jen with their stuff.

Nae - I'm sure the patient will be thrilled to get the new, pretty wheelchair!

Annie - Have a great time tonight watching your brother's (and nephew's) band! I wish I could go too...I always love hearing a great band!

Happy - Sounds like you'll be joining my efforts to make sailors blush today. Safe travels on the roads. Have fun at lunch!

Ruth - I immediately thought of you when I heard that the Obamas are planning on getting a Portuguese Water Dog. So cool that that I know someone who has the same breed of dog as the next First Dog.

Well, I'd better get back to it.

Love and hugs to all you wonderful worldlies!
