Happy Wednesday!

Things are good here. DH and I took the doggies out this morning. We have to get up at 4:30 so that DH can leave for work on time. I'll be glad when Blizzard can go on a full walk and I have two hands so I can take them myself. Hopefully in the next week and a half as DH is deploying (to Boise ) for June, August, and October. If blizzie can't do the whole walk, I'll have to take her out, then return for the other two doggies for their whole walk. Right now, DH and I start together and he turns back with Blizzie and I do the whole loop.

Right now I'm munching away. I bought a pre-cut up melon fruit bowl. Oh, it's heavenly!!! I also order some Vitatop chocolate snacks Hungry Girl emails rave about. I figure they'd be easy while DH is away for a month. Last night I elliptical-ed after work. I've gotten my speed back to pre-Thailand, now I just have 2 resistance levels to get. I'll be glad when I do. I feel guily decreasing the interval resistance a little.

Judy, sounds like your trip has been fun and successful. I remember reading or seeing some expert (Dr. Oz I think) say "I've never seen someone get fat on fruits and veges". So your dinner was healthy overeating - that's awesome!

Kathy, I have to agree with Judy. Exercise tired is wonderful. Sometimes after the elliptical I want to crawl to bed, but I feel so good. Now work tired - that one isn't so nice.

Auntie, I agree with Judy - I'd never be able to stop my racing mind from worrying. To me, that's all negative. At least if you knowm there's a possibility of positive. But heck, if you can block the mind racing, that's a totally different story.

Work...

Hooray, I'm heading home. Since I didn't work out this morning, I decided to walk from the hotel to Penn Station. Boy, dragging my bags through the swarms of people was no joke! I have sushi, applesauce and water for the trip, plus almonds if that's not enough.

Marie, I'm not sure I could get up at 4:30 a.m.for anyone, not even Blizzie! I used to like Vitatops when I was still eating wheat I remember that they spoil quickly, though, so be sure to check the sell-by date and put a few in the freezer, if it's just you.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

I just posted a long, witty, informative and supportive message but you'll just have to take my word for it as when I submitted it I got the message that the site was "down for maintenance". Of course my post disappeared argghhhh!

So I'll just sum it up by saying I hope everyone is doing well and staying on plan! I'll catch up again next time.

Hi Everyone! Just checking in.

Judy & Marie - I agree that exercising tired is rewarding. I always feel better after my walk even though I'm huffing and puffing like an old work horse. On the other hand, being mentally tired is rough. I'm always exhausted mentally when I get home from work. Some days I ask my DH to not ask me any questions for an hour after I get home because I'm to tried to think. He always obliges me.

I just tried Vitatops for the first time this week. I really like them. I usually have one mid morning at work. It is only 1 WW points which is great and they are CHOCOLATE! Yummy! My DH likes them too and since there is only one grocery store in our area that sells them and it is 20 miles away I ordered some online.

I trust you have a great evening.

Hi all,

Penny, I always type in the advanced posting so when it stalls. I copy the post to WORD, then hit submit. I can then recreate it easily. It's frustrating to lose them especially if you were particularly witty or insightful.

Kathy and Judy, thanks for the heads up on the shelf life. I will use my Food Saver to keep the vacuum fresh and freeze them. The UPS tracking number said they'd be here tomorrow. HG had a $31 special for 36 of them and free 2 day air. I actually want them for when DH is gone but I'll certainly try them.

Judy, Blizzie would steal your heart and you'd gladly get out of bed at 4:30. Really, there's only tomorrow and next W-F to do that. DH leaves and I HAVE to have my wrist out of the cast to walk 3 doggies. My goal is for Blizzie to be able to do the 1.5 mile walk with the other doggies by then. If not, I'll probably have to do 2 separate walks. Can anyone say 4:00 AM????

Evil Scale - I'd like to understand how my body defies physics. Calorie physics is supposed to be true but my body doesn't believe in it at the moment. Men have it way easier since they have more muscle. I sent my DD a card yesterday for the heck of it. Cover: "They can send a man to the moon..." Inside: "Why can't they send them all??"

Marie - RUN! Don't let the monster catch you!! I hate when I have the munches and want to eat everything in site. I have found if I chose a peice of Extra gum that it helps. I thought getting up at 5:15 was early, I don't know if I could get up at 4:00.

This morning I did my measurements since I haven't done them for months and I was amazed at the inches I have lost all over. That has given me the encouragement that I needed to keep doing what I've been doing.

Today I took a walk then planted my garden and some flowers. It seems like I have more energy everyday.

Have a great holiday weekend everyone.

Marie, I'm still chuckling over your 'man to the moon' card.

Kathy, it's nice that your hubby can give you a little space to decompress when you get home after a long day. That's one of the benefits of living alone, I guess--as soon as I walk in, I can zone out, take a bath, burst into tears, or whatever. I can be as selfish or self-indulgent as I want!

Speaking of which, I am doing very little for the three-day holiday, and enjoying it immensely. I saw a great movie, Sin Nombre, and did a little shopping, but otherwise I've been a total sloth . I saw the documentary Young At Heart, on Netflix, about seniors (people in their 70s and 80s) who travel in a chorus, singing rock songs. It's a hoot, but also moving and inspirational. I give it two big thumbs' up.

I hope I can post a loss tomorrow. I feel a little puffy, so I think it's nearly that time of the month. I've been mostly good with food, but Friday I had happy-hour drinks with friends. I need to work out more vigorously. It's been nice being outside more, walking through the neighborhood, but I can't call it cardio. it doesn't take much exertion to get sweaty strolling around in DC. So I'm starting another Stickk challenge, this one to get in at 60 minutes of cardio and/or strength training at least four days a week.

Judy - I trust you have had a very relaxing weekend. My goal for this weekend was to get a lot of work done. We accomplished a lot, but there is more work to do. It seems the more weight lost and more exercise I get my energy is growing. I am thankful for that.

Today has been a beautiful day. Did a lot of laundry and hung the towels our on the line. Also was able to get a 2 mile walk in. My body aches, but it is a good ache. It looks like rain tomorrow so that mean I'll have to get on the treadmill. Not my favorite thing to do, but it's better than doing nothing.

Tomorrow is back to work and I'm not ready to go back. I'm thankful to have a job, but having this long weekend spoiled me.

Trust you all have a good week.

Hi everyone,

I had a very quiet weekend at home. I did do some housework, but mostly I was a bum. I was great. The monster chased me but apparently I can outrun it when determined. So after I refused to weigh for a while because my weight was defying science, I took the evil scale back out. It gave me back my weight loss plus another .4 pound. In other words, I didn't kick or swear at it. I think it'll be a few more days before weighing again. It definitely had messed up my mind. As helpful as weighing daily had been for getting back on the wagon, it was doing the reverse lately. Ah, but messing with success is scary so who knows??? I did, change my ticker as it was 3 pounds off.

Judy, sounds like you were having a relaxing time with you movies. On the cardio - maybe not cardio but it still is fat burning. I remember reading an article that it was distance that made the difference. Basically this research I'd read said it takes the same calories to run 2 miles as it does to walk it because your walking a lot longer. Cardio is a big component of heart health but using more cals than what we take in is what we're striving for.

Kathy, good for you on all the work you got done. When you're done at your house, my house has loads of yard work. I bet you'd like a trip to Oregon. And you'd be able to cool off in my pool (after pulling all the weeds in the area ).

I did get in my pool yesterday. The deep end has two seats on either side of the diving board. So I sat on one with my casted arm lying on the pool deck. It was nice but certainly not my preferred way to be in my pool.

Carol and Penny, I hope all is going smoothly for you both. Auntie, you're in my thoughts.

Just a quick howdy! The rest of the weekend was good. I saw Star Trek Monday night. A bit fluffy, but fun. Today (Tuesday) feels like several Mondays wrapped up into one--lots of little fires to stamp out at work....

My weight's holding steady, but I'm feeling good. I worked out for an hour yesterday, and for 35 minutes this morning. I'll hit the rowing machine while I watch basketball tonight.

Hi All! Just checking to see how everyone is doing. Today was back to work for me and what a crazy day. The phone rang off the hook and I felt like I was pulled in 10 directions, but it was a great day.

I did not get up and exercise today because I felt my body needed the rest, but I'll be up early tomorrow and out for a walk if it is not raining. My goal is to walk 5 days and I have been able to do it. It scares me to sleep in one day because I'm afraid I won't get up the next day to exercise. I guess it comes down to discipline.

Marie - I did get a lot done yesterday, but there is a lot more that needs to be done. I would love to come to Oregan, but I don't know if I want to work!!

Have a great evening.

Hmmm, today (Wednesday) feels like a Monday, too! What's that about?

I overslept this morning, after being up late watching basketball, so I'll need to workout as soon as I get home. I had a "raisin fit" this afternoon (those boxes are so litttle, how can one be a full serving ), but otherwise I've been eating per plan. I made up a big pot of chicken-veggie soup, plus I cooked up some adzuki beans, rice, oatmeal, etc., and made up my own "Lean Cuisines" of shrimp, veggies and feta.

C'mon, Kathy! You and I have the same goal of 5 workouts a week. We can do it!
