yup, we got lots of snow too. I have been off plan for a couple of days, and am going back to the wii this morning for a good workout. We are planning a couple of days of skiing (cross country for me, downhill for DH) next week. So I have to be up for it! Keep warm everyone!
2b125 I'm so glad you enjoyed the day off. But isn't it now lazy Saturday.
We slept late for a change. My daughter changed work days from Saturdays to Sundays, so we can sleep later on a Saturday now. Will have to get up to drive her to work on Sundays tho. LOL
Can't win them all
I'm gonna start a Cross country thread if anyone wants to chime in
Fatmad, I didn't get a nap. I actually took my DS into town got my water jugs filled and some cash for him. He is going to a concert tonight in the city with some friends with my van.
I also had to take care of some by law work. Sending out orders by mail. Then at 8 I am babysitting my sisters kids.
Just a note about babysitting. My sister as 4 foster children the youngest is just a couple of months. He wasn't in the mood to sleep so I didn't get to treadmill. I really thought I would get the chance to since all children would be in bed but babies have their own schedule and my sister has this habit of babies staying awake for cuddling after all other children are in bed. Everytime I tried to put him down he would wake up.
2b125 I am tired just thinking of your schedule.
I did get to my wii, did strength training for 20 minutes, then a yoga show. Went skiing for a bit this afternoon with a friend.
This friend is VERY fit, does biking like for 100 km in a day, and has hiked, like mt kilamonjaro!. But I was the better skier. This has never happened to me, to be better and more athletic than her. It won't last if she keeps practicing, but was nice for a change.
I found the Trans Canada Walking site and you can now virtually walk across Canada. http://maps.tctrail.ca/index.jsp You register and than record your Steps pr Kilometers and it will keep track of where you are and how far you have gone. I need a step counter but I have signed up.
Had another ski today for about 45 min. I really went all out tho, was on the clock, my DH dropped me at the trail, went for groceries, picked me up at the end of the trail, so I really booted it. Needed a nap this evening, it really drained me. Going for it again tomorrow! gonna really get in shape while off work for a bit. Gonna enjoy the snow more.
Thanks for that link 2B -- I'm going to have a look.
Wowee MAD -- great going with the skiing.
Well, we have sun and Shubenacadie Sam definitely saw his shadow. Personally, I imagine we will get at least 8 to 10 more weeks of Winter. We usually get at least one good snowfall in early April.
My friend and I went snowshoeing at Whistler this Saturday. First we went to the recycle place. They always have great clothes that are usually brand name. I got some pants and shirts in my size. The trails were great and we finished the day with a great dinner with a friend in Vancouver. The weather was excellent. Sunny in the afternoon. Sunday was raining steadily. I watched some of the Chinese New Year parade and then went on my walk.
I have been dealing with IBS the past week so felt good to be out in the world, being active with friends. I have not figured out what is triggering the IBS but its definitely food related. I was on South Beach in 2003 so I'm going to go on that for now. I do not want to ruin my success and ongoing maintenance by botching my reaction to this condition. In the course of a week lost and regained five pounds. Today I am back down one pound and feel better.
I hope everyone has an excellent week on this Groundhog day.

Cie, check all the ingredients of the foods you have eaten. If there was MSG in anything that might of triggered it. It always triggers my mom's. You could also try going gluten free for a while to see if that helps.
The National Weight Control Registry (NWCR) is a national database containing data on a large group of people who have on average lost more than 60 pounds and maintained their weight loss for 2 years.
Here are some of the weight control strategies adopted by these 'weight-losers':
*They eat a regular breakfast.
*They monitor their weight regularly (sometimes daily).
*They take up to 60 minutes of daily exercise daily, burning an average of 400 calories.
*The most popular weight control exercise is walking.
*They follow a fat-reduced diet, (24 percent calories from fat) while eating healthy carbs.
*They control their calories, averaging 1400 calories, per day.
