Morning all,
Feels like rain out there. Miss Sunday has reluctantly gone out having decided that I am not likely to feed her the caviar she desires while there are biscuits on her plate. Trouble is that DS2 spoils her taste buds. He forgets to get cat food at the shops (and she forgets she is a cat) and therefore she is fed prime beef fillet or chicken breast or salmon steak or whatever the DS is finding in my freezer to get her through until he can go shopping or I get home whichever comes first. Judging by the state of the fridge there is not much shopping done. When I get home I have to crack her tastebuds back into action and go shopping for CAT food.
Mel - okay during the week it is. The earlier the better since I will have to get cracking on the walls of the hall and bedroom. I'll have to ring the shop today to confirm the dates and availability. This job will give me opportunity to do it during home times as it is 2 weeks in Dampier and 1 week at home. Have to leave you on the beach with the hunk while I dash home to lay floors or clean or whatever. That should impress you. Love the gas price label.
Morning to the ever lurking Carla. I think I may need to come back to Eastern Canada. You all seem like you need a big this year.
Michelle - Enjoy your weekend with the DH. Some down time sounds like a good idea.
Annie - good idea to go out with the girlfriends. Where the men let you down the tried and true girlfriends won't. They'll tell it like it is. Which reminds me - I had this joke sent to me the other day about girlfriends. I'll try to add it to the end of the post.
Happy - if you can do chicken with 40 cloves of garlic, then I reckon 47 is minimum per turnip. Don't fancy them much or swedes. I'm getting the floor in the hall finished and the main bedroom. The other two bedrooms will have to wait to see if I can extend them. Once this flooring project is finished and the loo is renovated, I will be getting onto that. Finding a builder will be the tricky bit.
Ceejay - have a great week with the uncles. Come back all refreshed and rarin' to go.
Madcat - I understand what you meant. Good to hear that gas prices are improving in your neck of the woods. Ours are slow to come down and fast to rise. And we provide a fair amount of oil to the rest of the world. I really can't imagine how the Arabs got such a hold when Canada, North Sea Oil and the US as well as Australia, Caucausus (Russia) all pitch in and produce such an amount. But I guess like everything else, greed got in the way.
Time to go cut my nails I think, I'm making typo after typo here and have to go back and correct myself frequently. I'm not a long nail person.
Morning to those I have missed. I'll be back and pick you up then. Meantime, there's a mug of tea and some muffins available for anyone who wants to drop in - mind you, you could get a paint roller shoved in your mitt right after tea.
'True' Friendship
None of that Sissy Crap
Are you tired of those sissy 'friendship' poems that always sound good, But never actually come close to reality?
Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship.
You will see no cutesy little smiley faces on this card- Just the stone cold truth of our great friendship.
Here we go:
1. When you are sad -- I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the fu*king ba**ard who made you sad.
2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
3. When you smile -- I will know you got laid.
4. When you are scared -- I will take the piss out of you about it, every chance I get.
5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whinging.
6. When you are confused -- I will use little words.
7. When you are sick -- Stay away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.
8. When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsy ***.
9. This is my oath.... I pledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask; 'because you are my friend'.
Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth.

Good morning fine ladies,
Looks like it's going to be overcast and possibly a bit rainy here. We are just about to head off to the farmer's market this morning and then we're going to work on finishing the stone border around the front of the house.
DH and I were chatting over coffee this morning and now he wants to know when I'll be ready to go so again, cuts into my morning computer time. Sorry peeps, will have to come back later.
Mel - glad to hear you straightened them out on the work stuff. We'll talk later.
Shy - congrats on the 3 pounds down - forgot to mention it earlier.
Ceejay - glad things worked out for you at the plant.
I gotta go or I'll lose my helping hands... see yah
I'd justfinished doing the breakfast dishes and came to look out towrds the woods. I saw turkey. There were about 6 in all. It's that time of year again.
I pulled up the Osceola Paper online and sure enoughwhat R. read was in there. Now I'm wondering if I'm misreading it. The Mayor mayube calling the plant as distribution. We'll see Monday.
My aunt is still asleep and my uncle has gone to get a hair cut and to visit a friend who has a birthday today. Which reminds me my nephew has a birthday today also--tomorrow is my sister's birthday.
I woke up briefly to a loud bang of thunder early this morning. My uncle rain gauage showed that between yesterday and last night's rain they have recieved 1.5 inches.
More later.
I just made a turkey meatloaf mix and then divided it up in a cupcake pan for mini muffin meatloaves. I like the taste of the ground turkey better this way. Maybe because it's crusty all around? Yum!
Morning all,
A beautiful morning again although it will be hot later I think. So Maybe I should get out into the garden now before the heat really strikes. Lots of weeding and stuff to do out there today. I have friends coming for morning tea today, so I had best get ready for that as well.
Feeling fairly despondent over weight at the moment, it is tending upward instead of downward and I don't seem to be able to do much about it. By the way it is going on, I guess a great deal of it is fluid, but there seems little I can do to keep it down. It doesn't help that I eat well during the day and then get a dose of the munchies at night. Going to have to do something about that one. But what .........?
Anyway....
Mel - you have some strange people in charge there. Do they not see the wheelchair? or are they just plain dumb. Don't make me come over there......This morning I am in just the right mood for some thick Yanks.
Happy - enjoy the farmers market. Get lots of nice veggies (not neggies) and carry on with the good work.
Ceejay - can't keep up with the twists and trials of your job. Hope it all works out as it should. Happy birthday to all the family having birthdays.
So Hi Ho it's off to work I go. Better get an hour or so in the garden and try to stem the time of weeds creeping up. Do they ever stop??

Hello, hello -
Went to the Farmer's Market today - you can tell they are winding down the season. Got 6 nice tomatoes. Some green beans. Bell peppers - red and green. Fresh garlic (don't know why the stuff they have in the store is always about ready to rot). Some rather large grape tomatoes. A jar of fresh applesauce from the orchard. And some cucumbers. So I can have a nice salad or make up a nice pasta primavera.
I watched a television show last night and one of the characters had on a necklace that I just loved. I said - I can make that. How hard can stringing beads be??? So that was my binge today. I'm sure I won't keep all the beads but I have enough to make each of you a necklace as well as several cat collars I also got a book so I can learn how to do this properly. That will be my evening's adventure.
I did go to the grocery store too so that's done with. We're having or at least I am having soup this week. Beef vegetable and a minnestrone. It better not get too hot.
I had a Chicago hot dog for lunch. I really enjoyed it. And DH bought me an ice cream cone too. And the Chicago Cubs baseball team clinched their division title and are in the playoffs. Even though I am a White Sox fan (of that OTHER Chicago team that got no respect when they WON the World Series already) - I am truly hoping the Cubs break the 100 year curse that keeps them from getting the much desired pennant.
Tomorrow I will get up early again and DH and I will attempt to finish that rock wall out front that we started last year. My side is still bothering me. I hope it's not a tumor or something - it is an odd pain and I'm am really ignoring it.
Shad - I'm sorry you are having such issues with the weight. Can it be that all this flying back and forth is also affecting you? I have struggled with the late munchies too. So I have had to go back to planning a snack at night. Usually it's some melon - right now I am getting my fill of watermelon before it goes out of season. Or I will count out 4 crackers with a smidge of lowfat cheese and a vegetable bit. As it gets cooler at night, I will go back to my evening cup of tea. I find that in trying to give up the sugars that it's also an issue of not trading in the salty stuff in it's place.
Mel - thank you for the suggestion on the muffin cups of meatloaf. That was actually on my menu for this week. I think I'm going to do just that - individual servings. Will make lunches easier too. I see you have swapped to the autumn leaves avatar - I think I'll hold off mine until October. Sorry you had a problem with the yogurt. I have learned to look for the artificial sweetener lurking all over. A tip off for me is anything lite or reduced calories or too few to be true is generally spot on that there's some of the fake stuff in it.
Ceejay - I thought I heard some faint rumblings of thunder too this morning. We had a bit of wetness on the ground but most of it blew right past us.
Well I think I'm going to start a pot of soup, clean up the kitchen and take a look at these beads I bought.
SHAD~ HOW CAN YOU EXPECT THEM TO SEE THE WHCHAIR WHEN THEY CAN'T SEE PAST THEIR OWN NOSES ONE MAN EVEN ADMITTED THAT HE DOESN'T SEE THE CHAIR AND HE BROUGHT THE SUBJECT UP HIMSELF. THEY ALL SAID CAUSE I DON'T EVEN KNOW I'M IN IT! I GUESS THAT WAS AS GOOD AN EXCUSE AS EVER. :Lol3: HOPE THE TEA WAS FUN. HOW IS TOMORROW LOOKING? SO FAR SO GOOD OVER HERE. (MY MONDAY 4-4:30 PM) SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THE WATER WEIGHT. MAYBE A TRIP TO THE DR BEFORE YOU FLY OUT AGAIN? ARE YOU WATCHING YOUR SALT? EVERYTHING IN JK MUST HAVE HAD A LOT OF SOCIUM IN IT!!
HAPPY~ HAPPY BEADING!! GOOD CHOICE TO LEARN PATIENCE TOO STRINGING BEADS WILL CERTAINLY KEEP YOU BUSY AND OFF THE COMPUTER! WHAT IS THIS PAIN FROM DO YOU THINK? BETTER GO AND GET IT CHECKED OUT
I HAVE TO SAY I WASN'T OUTSIDE VERY MUCH YESTERDAY. WAY TOO WINDY AND THEY SAID IT WAS 71 BUT IT FELT MORE LIKE 61. ONE MORE ACCT TO GO TODAY. CON YOU TELL IT'S THE END OF THE MONTH? ONE OF THE BOSSES ASKED WHY THEY AREN'T HERE MON-TUES BETWEEN 9-4? NO ONE HAD AN ANSWER. WE'LL SEE IF HE BRINGS IT UP AT THE MEETING.
I THINK A MELIDAY IN BETWEEN SUMMONINGS TO THE OFFICE IS IN STORE FOR ME. LET US HOPE HE LEAVES BEFORE 9PM!
HAPPY SUNDAY/MONDAY

Good morning ladies,
It's cool and a bit overcast today. There's weather all around us but I don't know if we will get any. I can tell fall is here - the sinus alarm is going off like mad. Worst part for me is the drippy cough. I will routinely just fall asleep and then wake up choking and coughing. I hate to take any more medicine than I absolutely need to but I guess this time of year I'm going to have to bite the bullet and take a sinus pill at night. Not sure if we're going to be working outside today - DH is looking at sheet music for his guitar. If not, that's ok, I have laundry and cooking to do. And I looked at the beads yesterday but didn't do anything more than fret that I probably should not have gotten as many as I did.
Mel - it certainly sounds like you need to have a very serious come to @$#$#$# meeting with those people in the office. I'm sure that they see your personality not the chair and combine that with basic laziness to let someone else do it, it much easier left to you. Time to help them understand "a better way of thinking". And of course, we all know that they aren't paying you for this kind of bull. I also thought it was odd that the accountants came in on the weekends and such. Thought it was because they were doing the work of a volunteer basis or something. Government people don't work on the weekends for pay as I found out
I really don't know what's going on with my hip. I started having a twinge of pain about 2 weeks ago. It steadily got worse. Thing is, I can't locate a specific place where it hurts. It just hurts when I walk, or if I was to cantilever bend over as if I was picking something off the floor, stood on one leg and swung the other leg out and up. I thought it might have been a pelvic muscle but I'm not sure. I tried an ice pack and then a heating pad and it subsided a bit but it never goes away. I'm not really that impressed with the doctor's care down here so I am not gunning to go see a doctor. Besides, if I can't find the source of the pain, I'm not even sure what kind of doctor to go see.
Quiet in here over the weekends isn't it? We're into Monday and the neighbourhood is waking up to go back to work - very reluctantly. Miss Puss has decided it is play time but refuses to get up and go fetch her squash ball - all of 5 feet away - so she is attempting to beat up my new mat and is getting a bit of a telling off. She now has that 'not fair' face on.
I'm not sure what is causing this weight gain. Flying does put it on of course, but I was happily congratulating myself for getting that down when boom, 1.2kg on in one day. Looking back, I had had normal food for breakfast and lunch and then had a McCain's Healthy choice and some veges & gravy (97 fat free) for dinner followed by a fruit and lite jelly pudding. So something had a heap of salt or whatever to do that. I'm finding it difficult to understand and even more difficult to get it off. Mind you, I am not doing the exercise I was. Plenty of movement around the house, but I really should get out and about for a run or something.
Had a nice afternoon with Chris and Tim yesterday. We had a fondue - I recently bought myself a set so had to use it on them. And some wine.
Got quite a lot done around the house - lots of niggles as Ruth would say. Screwed the footpads on the lounge suite, attached the aircon remote to the wall. Cleared up the patio, cleaned and dusted in the bedroom - cleared out the wardrobe etc. I have too many clothes so some are going to have to go. Oh dear.
Happy - I want to know why most of our garlic comes from China and is labelled as 'fresh' How can anything that takes 4 weeks to get anywhere be 'fresh' and having smelt some of the 'Chinese Agriculture' in southern China Kowloon province, I have a hard time believing fresh. Give up giving me genetically modified, Chinese, or food that has to come a great distance. I don't care how cheap it is. I'm told that we need to do this to feed a burgeoning population, well excuse me, but it may be time to curtail the population growth and not the food growth. We can't support what we have, then maybe we shouldn't have what we have got! I'm getting off it now.
I got some of those bead things at a Craft Fair in Townsville last year. I managed to spill most of them all over the floor and then had problems trying to get the ends to grip the strings/wire and that was that. I think they are still around somewhere, but it is not for me. I don't have the patience.
Mel - it's okay, I'm off the soapbox. I look forward to our chat tomorrow.
And with that, time to go get on with the day. Preparation day - plaster, sand, maybe a first primer coat. But it won't be if I don't get on with it. See ya.
