Rob Thomas is sooooo dreamy........was listening to some yesterday......LOVE his lyrics...
It is POURING rain here. I am not sure i can garden. I do have a basement to clean tho!!

The theme song from the camping weekend was by Gwen Steffani the one that goes weeeeee hooooo woooo hooooooo......a bunch of 40+ men dancing and singing it was pretty darn funny.

Happy- I do always sing. Not very well I am sure but it makes me feel joyful.

Hope everyone has a glorious day!

Default Like a bad penny...

I'm back... and look, I brought a friend!

We had a great time in the Great White North. The weather was a bit cool at times, but that just meant wearing sweatpants instead of shorts. I read many books, played scrabble (badly), went canoeing (briefly), swam, ate and drank probably too much. We all sat on the deck of one of the cottages a couple of nights watching the shooting stars, though it was cloudy the first night we were there so we missed the peak performance. Still, even in off-peak, they were beautiful and the Milky Way was splashed like a liquid paper spill across a roll of black velvet. We made a point of waving to the ISS as it spead overhead each night. The thing that strikes me is how dark(!) and how quiet(!) it is there. I woke up one night and could see nothing and all I could hear was the sound of DH breathing. You forget what small sounds are like when you are wrapped in a constant blanket of noise.

Anyway, I'll be back this evening to catch up. Hope everyone is having a lovely Monday morning (evening). BTW, what do I do for a living again??

Morning all,
Madcat, think you do something similar to me. That is eke out a living through our fingers! One day we will get a proper job Love the squirrel. What on earth was it doing in a plastic bag??? One of the Quokka I saw tried to get into my carry bag, not because it wanted to come home with me, but because it thought I might have food in there.
I know what you mean about the sounds of silence. I love that non-noise and at least DH was breathing and not snoring.

Holly - Gwen Stefani singing weee hooooo hooooo. She was here at the Burswood dome the other night. Don't believe the song was on the menu!!! But the sight of men dancing AND singing at the same time should never be forgotten.

Mel - sit tight and ride out the storm. Sounds like some nasty stuff coming in from the Carribean (?sp) Sea. Lots of folk have lost their homes and possessions again. Hope this doesn't mean the hurricane season is quickly coming to a shore near you or you or you again.

Happy - BOM is Bill of Materials - go to the top of the class. SAP (computer program) gets somewhat violent in the Plant Maintenance section, we have BOMs, terminations, explosions, executions and other nasties to numerous to mention.

Yesterday I had to explain in 3 easy pictures how to get the material from the bom onto the work order, with just a touch of the hand on the mouse. Well, it is not quite like that but close. Another reason why I love my job here. Yesterday, I produced the most beautiful documents explaining to the mob how to create things, get parts for things, fix things, put things back into production. I did it all from memory and from a Guide to How W**ds*de want to manage PM orders. Only to be told that the document named 242 To-Be Design - OM004 Manage PM Work Orders has been superceded by what they don't yet know or understand.

I stood there in front of them with a big smile on my face and uttered about 15 words in Maori which adequately described some parts of their body and parentage and lo and behold, the guy standing next to me started to laugh. So we all ended up laughing but we never told anyone what I had said. It's our secret. Always pays to know how to swear in a not well known language. Chances are no one will understand you. Sometimes life takes twists we don't expect and someone does understand you. Just like Happy understood BOM.

Meadow - so pleased that you have got tea again. I'm enjoying tea more than coffee at the moment. I have about 5 varieties in my cupboard. I love the Russian Caravan tea when I come in from work, almost as good as a good wine. I like chamomile before I go to bed.

Anyway, I had better go get ahead of the day - even getting even might be nice. Lessee who can I upset today.

The song is Sweet Escape.

How did my television set wind up at Holly's house?

I actually liked orchid walls. But the door was a bit much. Looks better with white trim.

I definitely have an abcessed tooth. The pain medication the dentist gave me brings on a horrid headache. And no, don't say that it takes away from the tooth pain because it doesn't. I'll be seeing him first thing in the morning.

I used to think chipmunks were cute too. Until you see the amazing damage they do tunneling through your lawn. Now I still like them but only in the woods

Shad, I think they could use your expertise at my company. They are still having their challenges with the implementation - but I'll bet they wouldn't let you fly home on weekends

They were interviewing a lady at Graceland during Elvis week last week. She was in the gift shop - said she came over special from Australia to pick up as many trinkets as possible. So don't be surprised if you see an odd assortment of one of a kind "gifts" available come Christmas. She didn't identify what her home town was though.

Oh gawd I hope she wasn't one of my friends. I can just see Elvis in the Christmas tree. Oh no not that dreadful decoration that we laughed over so much.

I think I will stay in Perth over Christmas and hide from all my friends.

Morning chicks,

This site it acting up on me today so not sure if I can get a post in.

The tooth/gums/whatever is hurting like mad today. I am taking my antibiotics religiously - not sure what else he can do but we'll see.

Mel something funky going on in the upper part of the country. Lots and lots of rain up in Chicago - they say there is a stalled front that just keeps churning the weather over and over - could be the same up your way. When I do turn on the weather channel, I see lots of green and yellow stuff your way. Get out the boots and go puddle jumping - yeah right! Stay warm and dry my friend.

Need to run now - have a good day to those of you in the daylight and sleep well Shad.

Holly ~ Ok the weird thing is that that is the same TV I used to have too – until it died an untimely death just after the DH and I got married. I wonder if it was an omen? We used wedding money to buy a new one. I definitely like the green, though the purple is pretty. There is something so soothing about green as a wall colour. Are you going to put the curtains back? They would go.

Shad~ Arggg!!! I feel your pain. Do you ever wonder how many hours in any given week we spend doing stuff that: 1) no one will ever read, 2)no one will ever use, or 3) has a shelf life of approximately 15 minutes after we walk out the door? It’s enough to drive a person crazy. This is, I suspect, why it pays well. It’s mental compensation. And yeah, it really helps to have a comrade-in-arms. Go stir that pot! Oh, and the chipmunk was in the bag because that is where the sunflower seeds were.

Happy~ Your poor toof! Hope the dentist can fix it quickly. Have to tried rinsing with equal amount water and 3% hydrogen peroxide? It might help clear out the swelling. Try not to move your head much, k? And yes, I was less than pleased the day the chipmunk invited himself into my cabin. They are cute, but only in the woods. Just like raccoons. Or beavers, for that matter. As DH would say, there are times when nature is overrated.

Mel~ I think you are being hit with the remnants of Hurricane Adam. It’s windy enough here that I can actually hear the 65 floor tower I am working in creaking slightly in the “breeze”. Go and have some nice oatmeal. Hope you get out and about once the weather clears.

Alrightly then, I would love to read back a couple of pages, but I have a bunch of Visio diagrams I have to get done for one of the projects. I’ll be in a bunch of meeting this week for a project that my boss wants me to work on – but no one else seems to think it should be necessary to have me there. I’m going only because I know who signs my pay cheques. It’s windy and cool here. I’ve been to the gym and spent 40 minutes on the dreadmill. Did some stretching. Trying to push my body beyond its current limits and make some changes. I am also trying to get back in the groove and find my happy body place again. Fall is coming and I’m tired of being a fat woman. I am not that old. Why do I feel like I am? Anyway, enough whinging.

Madcat--hello--I see your egg light aglow. Glad you are back and doing well in the exercise department

Happy--Ouch for your tooth. I thought I hadan abcess when I went to the dentist but it he didn't find one. Told me it was a gum boil due to lodged food down deep in my gum.

Mel--Sure wish we were getting some of that rain. Stay dry.

Holly--I love the green. I read your journal entry today.

The girl finally came last night to get the bed frame. Afterwards I rode the bike for 32 minutes and did 45 crunches and 45 bench presses. I used 8 pound free weights. Food wasn't that bad yesterday. Still have not been bingeing which is a good thing.

Time to get back to work. The waste water lab tech came over to check our ph meter and showed me how to calibrate this one.

Morning all,
Just a quick lob in this morning. I have a mountain of work to do just to stay on top - not ahead - on top. I'm having a running battle with the style **** of documents. Doesn't matter if it can't be read or doesn't make sense as long as it has style. Oh well as Madcat says, I know where my pay cheque is signed. I'm fighting it and will continue to fight for the poor end user who is probably not going to end up with a lot. Going home for 3 days not next weekend but the weekend after. Guess I'm really looking forward to that. It will be a nice time away.

Madcat, I mixed the chipmunk up with the squirrel. My mistake. We don't have any of either here so you'll have to forgive the ignorance. Glad you had a good time.

Holly - like the new paint colour and trim. Always like white trim although I have to admit that it is not the best keeper and always seems to have fingerprints or chips showing.

Ceejay - finally you have the bed!!! Yahooo.

Poor Happy, hope you get some relief today. Good excuse for getting drunk.

Gotta go before the troops arrive. I am determined to get something done today.
