Hey All

Garage sales sucked today, not many and not anything much out there either. Only good thing I got were some bags for my Food Saver, 2 rolls and about 50 bags for $4.00, definitely a good deal.

I'm pooped! I was up AGAIN around 4am, than in and out of consciousness til I actually got my butt up and out of bed a bit before 6am. I'm really looking forward to hitting the bed early tonight. ELI is closing the store and won't be home til well after 2am so he won't be keeping me up.

Tomorrow the kids, my DM and my DS are going out for MD to Carrabas. I've already decided to stay as legal as possible with the only thing I may have a little of will be the calamari. Since I'll only order 1 appetizer I won't be able to induldge anyhow. No dessert here, I've been too good to screw things up now! Measured the waist this morning and it's gone down a bit Going to get in a walk tomorrow morning before we go so any calories I may eat will have some help being burned off.

Eating continues to be right on track and I'm a happy camper

LIN, I use either CALORIEKING.COM or NUTRITIONAL ANAYLIST TOOL to find my info, but since I eat a lot of the same things, many I know by heart, or I just refer back to pages in my food journal to get my info. It doesn't take me long at all!

FILLISE, amazing how many grams of sugar is in Coke and so many other products. Once you start reading labels, esp. of things you use to eat, or things you may think about eating, you really see what's in these so-called foods!

MONET, don't you feel like it's another person who's eating that crap, like something has possessed your body? I swear, this HAS to be what it's like to be a recovering addict from cocaine or crack, one taste of the drug and they're back to their bodies craving it. I don't think sugar is any different, it's how I feel, once I start I'm hooked until I finally OD on sugar and have to detox all over again. You'll do it, don't beat yourself up about it. Oh gawd, did I just LOVE that picture you posted with the lady on the scale - needed that laugh, and hey, thanks for the tip, I may just try weighing in like that next WIW!!!!!

COCO, WOW, congrats on a great loss this week! Don't worry about the flub up, as long as you get right back OP you won't be any worse for the wear. Try using less stevia, many times using too much is what makes it taste bitter. I use 1 packet in about 20 or so ounces of liquid. Try less and see if you like it any better. The only pill you may need would be a multi-vitamin.

ROSALIE, sounds like your eating and journaling has been on track this week and I really do hope all the effort you've put in to it will pay off come WIW (or any other time during the week). See what one little change as cutting out cream can do for a person! Do you even miss it? Your ratios are perfect!!! Did you enjoy having the GK's over?

HEART, so did you survive the Chinese restaurant? I particularly don't care for Chinese, will do Thai, but not Chinese. Usually there should be something on the menu one could eat and stay OP, but you always have to ask lots of questions.

SEF, glad the cheesecake was a hit, I bet you'll be asked for the recipe! Sounds like you had a good time. I didn't know people got together just to talk about peices they've made. Sounded to me almost like a quilting bee. Thanks for posting those FF's, there were some goodies in there!

BOB, geez girl, what are you, the lush of Sarasota? Those dirty martinis should of pushed that pain right out of you, at least until you sobered up again. The 222's were sent yesterday so I guess you should get them on Monday. There's a little extra "something" in the envelope for you too

QUILTER, thanks for the movie review. You really liked it it seems. I'll have to go see that one. Enjoy tonight and tomorrow with the family. A Mighty Wind, sorta reminds me of ELI after eating a good amount of hummus!

JENN, sorry to hear you are feeling icky. What's the matter? Godo job on staying OP for almost a week, you're doing great. Don't worry about not eating enough while not feeling good, you'll get back to normal soon.

JANE, good for you for getting out and getting yourself pampered today, I'm sure you deserve it, and besides, you have the rest of the evening to be with DH. What is it with Chinese and everyone on this board?? What do you order when you go?

Well, that was easy to catch up! I'm going to go plop my fat arse on the couch and veg out for a little while. MICHAEL is with friends at the book store and then going over to his friend SLY'S house then I have to pick him up around 9:30pm, any later and I'll be asleep!

For all of you who are MOMS, I wish you all a VERY HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY tomorrow!!! You all deserve to be treated like QUEENS!

Will check in tomorrow!

Toodles

Evening all,

Just posted the WW pizza dough on the recipe board under the breads. It is really easy and elastic like white dough and tasty with no bitter taste like some WW products. Mom and I really enjoyed the pizza.

Hope everyone has a great Mothers Day tomorrow.

Default Hey, I'm a Newbie

Hello Everyone,
Is it ok for me to interupt and introduce myself here? I'm having a hard time understanding the forums but as far as I can see, this is where to do it.
I am a new mom of a 4 month old baby, and I was wondering if this diet is safe while breastfeeding. ( I hope I'm not offending anyone!!) Also, I am hyperglycemic. Will that cause problems?
I love my baby girl, but I really want to start getting healthy again. Any suggestions? I loved seeing how together you guys are. With a suppots group like this, you can't help but be encouraged!
My younger sister is getting married in a few months so my 3 sisters, my mother and I are all trying the sugar busters diet. I had actually meant to start sugar busters last year but then found out I was pregnant. Now I'm ready!!!

I started the diet on Thursday with my husband, and I have already lost 3 pounds. Does that sound right? I was really surprised.
Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you!!

HiedieHo All!

Did clean house yesterday. Then had a nice surprise, my son came out and said he was taking us to Casino Magic for Mother's Day, did I want to go? Did I want to go! Their buffet is wondeerful! So we went last night and had a nice time.

Last night I did not sleep well, my shoulder and right hip kept me awake. I ws up a 3a playing computer games. Did not want to take any meds on an empty stomach and just couldnn't bear to think about putting any more food in my mouth as I was still so full. As a result when I went back to bed it was to sleep in fitful spurts and I got up late.

The kids pulled my boxes out of the attic so I could go through them to pick out things I want to give my DD. Other things I want to keep, maybe someday we will be living elsewhere and I can use them myself. I did go through 2 boxes, it was like seeing old friends again!

DD called, she is still not working regularly and says she wouldn't come if her niece wasn't graduating. So we'll see. Things are tight nad she should stay home I think. She's only worked about 12 shifts since 3/17 and this is after just buying her house!

The body of the afghan is finally finshed. Now I have to do about 6 or 7 rows for for border. Each row is 1026 stitches around. That will keep me out of trouble for a while!!!!

BOB: Those dirty martinis should have killed the pain!!!!!

TALITHA: There is nothing that will hurt while breast feeding. It is all good food without fancy-schmancy ingredients or supplements. That is why it is so good for us. By the way welcome to the group. You can always ask questions. We all have heard many of them before but they bear repeating as we need reminders to keep us on track. We even learn new things!!! So ask away!!

I think I'm caught up with everyone. Time to "Say Goodnight Gracie." Goodnight Gracie.

Take care, Shirley

Sunday night---Happy Mother's Day to all of you terrific mother's!! Hope you were all pampered and spoiled today!!

Been MIA for a few days here......been very busy trying to get our yard work done. Took the plunge on Thursday and went and got my hair cut!! I absolutely love it. It is short (right at the bottom of the neck) with the little flippy curls on the ends. My cousin, who is my hair dresser decided we should wait on the highlighting because my hair really lightens up in the summer. So we will do that next winter when it is drab and yucky again.

Had to buy a new weed wacker, too. One that I could handle since Dh is still unable to do much. Will be about four more weeks for him. So I have been one busy little yard person. So Thursday afternoon I mowed the grass, Friday was weed wacking, and weed pulling. Only have 1 1/2 more beds to clean out. I tell you I died at about 8:30 both nights. Saturday was our family day.
(Family get together and Pot Luck on every Saturday) Mowed my Grandma's lawn and dug raspberries. Got 10 plants in my garden too.

Today we spent with Dh sister who is now home from the hospital. We took over a picnic lunch and spent the afternoon with her so she wouldn't be alone today. She was tickled pink. She absolutely loves our Bassethounds, and is not allowed pets in her assisted living place. We found her a set of 2 metal artwork hounds. They are the cutest things, their little heads even bob up and down!! So now she has her own hound dogs.

The scale has been moving downward this week, I am down to 180, which is 10 pounds from my first goal of 100 pounds. Mind you this has taken almost two years, but I have all the time in the world now. I am just happy to have found a WOE that makes me feel so good. I used to suffer horribly with allergies and sinus infections. ABSOLUTELY NONE, FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS!! So that in itself is worth it to me. My anniversary is the 15th of May.

Deb-- Only been gardening for 3 years. My folks always had a garden big enough to feed the whole clan. But since my dad passed away, my hubby and I were helping my mom use up her garden area. Then last year we decided to get rid of some of our grass, (why did we plant so much when we moved in??) and tilled up a spot for a very small patch of garden. Then last fall Dh decided we needed a full scale garden of our own. So we still planted potatoes at Mom's. She also does 4 rows of corn, and 4 rows of tomatoes. We will then can salsa, tomato juice, and stewed tomatoes. I haven't done potatoes or corn for almost 2 years, but the family sure enjoys them. I am planting some zucchini squash, yellow summer squash, and my new fav.....spaghetti squash!! I think the spaghetti squash will have to be put in at my Mom's....it says to plant 3' apart and 6' to 8' between rows!! This must spread out like Dh hubbard squash did last year!!

Fillise--Yes! 4 rows of 35 hills each!!! We are planning on feeding the whole clan!! This is something we started after my Dad passed away. Now we do it just because my Mom needs to use up the garden space. They are easy to plant, and very little work while growing. Yes, I am doing zucchini, please do post the recipe for the pickles, sounds good!!

BOB--So sorry to hear you are still having alot of pain. Dang it....

Sheanne--What a special memory! And I bet your vegetables were great! Love fresh veggies. As a child, we always had a huge one too. My folks just kept raising the same amount even after us four kids were grown and gone. But since my Dad passed away, Mom can't do it all so we help out with what we can do. I am going to the recipe board and get your WW pizza crust recipe. I have been thinking about pizza alot lately.

Coco-- I have the stevia extract, and I make my own liquid. 2 Tbl warm water to 2 tsp stevia extract......1/8 tsp = 1 packet sweetner. 1 tsp = 3/4 cup. Don't know if this helps, but it might. I have never noticed a bitter taste with the liquid. Hope this helps some!!

Catchinup--Welcome to the SB board.

Monet-- Sorry to see that the cake got the better of you this time. Lesson learned....hop right back on the wagon. Need a lift up?? We are all here and ready to lend a helping hand!!

Will be busy again for the next couple of days, as long as the weather permits, but will try and make it here tomorrow night. Sweet Dreams Friends!!
