GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY
done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's 2 of them to read today-read between the lines on the first one, it's quite good

AS IT COMES
If you delay living the joys until later, they can fade to almost nothing before you ever experience them. If you delay addressing the problems until later, they can become far more difficult and imposing by the time you get around to them.Instead, live life as it comes. Work through the challenges as they appear, and drink in the joys as they come along.

If you delay rest and relaxation for too long, you'll grow weary and burned out. If you delay effort for too long, the best of life's opportunities will pass you by.

Rest when you're tired, and get back on your way when you're rested. Listen to the rhythm of life, and live it as it comes.

Stop waiting for things to get better, or easier, more comfortable or more convenient. Go with what you have here and now.

Find the value in each moment, in each situation as it arises, then live that value. Make the very most of life, each moment as it comes along.

-- Ralph Marston
*******************

FORGO THE TALK

There are those who talk endlessly about what they're going to do. Then there are those who get busy and do it.

The talkers usually get all the attention, for that's what they've learned to do. What the doers get is not attention or glory, but solid and meaningful results.

The next time you hear someone complaining or advising, criticizing or second guessing, think about what you're hearing. It is the sound of ineffectiveness.

Too often, talking about taking action becomes a substitute for actually taking that action. Talking is easy and doesn't carry much downside risk, but it also doesn't offer much upside potential.

When all you're doing is talking, you can quickly and easily change from one approach to another and back again. Action, on the other hand, takes time and commitment.

Yet it is action, not mere talk, that brings real and valuable results. You'll move the world forward when you forgo the talk and put your energy into real, honest, effective action.

-- Ralph Marston

Have a wonderful day, and a fabulous week!!!!!

Smile We're back!

Morning all!

I'm so glad to see the board up and running even if it is limping along a little bit!

Susanne--Thanks so much for all your hard work on the board, I know it must be disheartening to have everything disappear all of a sudden. I'm so grateful to you for working so hard to maintain the 3FC site!

It's a beautiful day here, but very cold (at least for Alabama). I hate cold weather so I'm hanging in until spring.

Talitha--I hope you get better soon. This stuff sure seems to hang on a long time. I know several peole who can't seem to get rid of it.

Jackie--I bet ya'll are cold in KY! Speaking of which--thanks for beating the Tarheels last weekend!

Monet--How are you doing? Are you still working?

Crystle--Is it getting any better?

SEF--OY--I can't even think of swimming when it's this cold! Good for you--my DM does water aerobics three times a week and loves it. They have an indoor pool. but still that water's awfully cold when they get in at 8 am--BRRRRRRR. Course I bet that really jump starts the old metabolism!

Deb--Is today Eli'a day off or was it yesterday? If it's today--have fun!

BOB--Hey gorgeous!

Everyone else--Have a great OP day!!!!

Since I was on the scale at the Dr. yesterday that will be my Weigh in for the week. Hmmmm Lent's not far away either!

I missed you all yesterday!!!

I did good with eating, except for a few FF's of my dd's. My weigh-in today was 120.5#, which I was glad to see since I have been staying closer to the 122's.

I am trying to talk my DH into going to Nashville for our summer trip this year; it's a place I've always wanted to visit. I am a huge Country Music fan, and think it would be a neat place to visit. He has relatives in Brimingham and Panama City, so we would probably make a long trip out of it and visit them too. I think I'll talk him into it.

I am going to be watching a friend's kids today while Britt is in school; it's payback time for when she watched Lane for me when I volunteered in Britt's class a few months back.

My DS lives in San Diego and can't find the Blue Bunny Lite 85 yogurt; I guess they don't have any BB products in California. Do any of you have any other yogurt recommendations???

Well, since I didn't get on soon enough yesterday to read posts before the crash, I don't have any replies. I hope you are all doing well, exercising, eating right and staying happy!

Have a great day.

Take care & God Bless,
Nat

Hi all,
It is frigid here in South Central Kentucky! It was 13 this morning! This Alabama girl isn't used to that! But doesn't being cold burn more calories? I guess that's a bright side?
THe board crashed with no answers to my questions about how many calories I needed per day, but I think I found it. I htink it's about 2000- 2200. Sound right for a 5'7" 28 yo female who jazzercises 60 min 3x week, works a desk job, and hopes to start walking some on my off days. I know I know, I've said that before.
My resolve is still really good. I am on day 7 being TOTALLY LEGAL! Yeah me! Even though it hasn't been a week since I started, I did weight this morning and got some disappointment...I've lost 1#. I started at 192 on Jan 1 and was at 191 today. However, last Saturday, I was at 189...NO FAIR! TOM has an ETA (estimated time of arrival) of today or tomorrow, so could that be the problem? It's a little disheartening to have been so completely legal, eating enough fruits and veggies, etc. and really see no change. Especially since during the holidays (and before) I was eating like it was my job! I DID not hold back on sweets or anything! I'm going to give this a month before I make a dr appt. to see if there is something else going on, ie. thyroid. I know I've talked about that before, but I didn't feel like I had much tot alk to the doc about since I wasn't giving my full effort to weightloss. I am now, so I'll give it a month. Make sense?
Here's my menu to be sure I'm not fooling myself, tell me what you think:
B: 1 slice ww toast with 1 tsp smucker simply fruit, 1 ounce part skim mozzerella, a few almonds (I was late for work!)
S: 4 oz (snack size) dannon light and fit yogurt
L: a big bowl of homemade veggie soup (chicken broth, carrots, limas, tomatoes, green beans/ half ham sandwich w/ 1/2 slice provolone & mustard/apple
S: triscuits with mozerella
D: Pork roast with some veggie (probably broccoli or cauliflower) and spinach salad with homemade SF dressing

I do need to get more water in, I know that. I'm going to Walmart at lunch and getting a big jug to keep water in at my desk to sip on.
Feedback much appreciated! Have a wonderful day! Stay warm!!!

Good morning,
Glad to see that something is here! What a bummer, but recieving all your posts has definitely helped. WIW was OK. I haven't weighed in since before leaving on vacation(12/17) and was only up 3 pounds. Considering all the great food(not all of it legal), I don't think that that's bad. We were pretty active too. No laying around the beach every day.
Cold here today too, 18 degrees! yuck!
Off to eat my orange!
Everyone have a great day!

Hey all--it's me again. I'm lurking around here because I'm putting of getting started on a project--ick!

Barbara--I think 3 lbs for vacation is pretty darned good!

Jenn--YES TOM can have everything to do with the scale moving slowly or even bouncing up. DO NOT let this weigh in discourage you--my scale would always ounce up 3-4 lbs when TOM was due (Tee Hee Hee--no more TOM for me!!!!!!!) Also I have found that when I fall off the wagon it really take about 2 tweeks o jumpstart the losing again so , again, don't let this discourage you.

Nat--Nashville is a lot of fun! If you make it to Birnmingham let me know cause I'm only a couple of hours away and go there all the time.

I guess I've put this off long enough now--I really need to get to work.

Good morning everyone. So glad the boards are back up.
Its soooo cold here. Its a big change from Monday being 81 to today being 59. Im FREEZING. I know for you 10 degree people 59 is like a heat wave...but us floridians arent used to it! Im happy to have it though...Id rather be cold than hot!
Anyway...3 days..well almost 3 days down and 100% OP. Except that I did have a little Honey baked ham..but that was the worst of it. Im curious to see what the scale is going to say once TOM is done. Well If I can remember everyone..Im gonna do some replies...

BOB - DM is going ok. She is going to the Dr. tomorrow to give him all her tests results from the last 2 weeks...then he will decide if he will fix her and do the hernia...or just do the hernia.
I would love to see the Colts in the Superbowl...I think Dungy deserves it and so does your man Peyton! Good for him on getting MVP.

PANCHO - Did you finally get to see the low carb show? You may have posted it...but I didnt get to see if you did. Great job on your weight...what an inspiration. At least TOM desnt stop you from going to the gym. I think its just my excuse not to get out there.

JACKIE - I wasnt crazy about S&C either Sunday night. It was ok..but I have to say Im not ahppy with Carrie and her choice of men. I love the fact that Miranda and Steve are together.

FRUIT - I say its worth your while to watch Sex & the Ciy. I think its a great show. I started late too...I think a lot of people did. Good job on staying OP. We can do this!

Well I hope everyone has a great WIW...I know I wouldnt if I was weighing..thats why Im not! LoL.

Have a good day
Chris

Oh my gosh we're up and running again. I've stayed OP but its hard for me to lose. I'm trying not to be disappointed that I only lost 1/2 lb. this week. I'll have to be on the look out for any mistakes I'm making. And hope next week brings a better loss. Its really cold here too and we've had to keep our wood heating stove really going to help save on propane. I've enjoyed everyone that wrote.... Have a good one ladies!

Default We're back up!

OK, today is WIW & I am happy to report that even though it is only 1 lb, at least it's 1 down & not up! So glad it's finally going in the right direction! I've been having a headache for the last couple of days & realized last night that it might be cause I'm in detox!
I am finally beginning to feel better. Coughing has subsided alot, but is still bad at night. Hoping to return to work next week.

FILLISE,12.5 lbs! WooHoo! Good for you. Just think of the jump start you've had & when you can get back to the gym you'll really be alone to tone up. Just don't rush your recoup time.

SEF Yea, this emailing posts is really neat! Do you swim in a heated indoor pool? I know with your arthritis you don't take the cold & dampness well. Yes, I know what you mean about the SOB, I've been having my fair share of that with this asthmatic bronchitis. You are blessed to have such a understanding DIL & DS that loves you & want you with them. I know that you must take akot of comfort in that. Hey, one OP day will be 2, then 3 & before we know it, we'll be back in the swing of it.

Rosalie I totally understand about the boredom & the cookies. Have been too much in that circumstance not to understand it. It's not a pretty picture, I know. Hope you get back to your exercising soon to take your mind off of them. Jury duty...yuck! I always dread that too. Line dancing? Hey, that sound be fun & good exercising too! Hope jury duty does not interfer with it.

Talitha, I totally sympathize with you about the lung problems. This is for the birds. I need to feel human again. LOL Get well! Hey, eating looks great. It's so good to be back on track isn't it!

QUILTER/Kim, Thanks for messaging me yesterday! I soooo enjoyed our chat. Stay warm!

Teensy, -20 degrees? Oh MY! I cannot even fanthom what that would feel like. I do hope your electricity is still on, as you said in a prevcious post that it was blinking! Stay warm girl!

Debelli, Thanks for having us in your email & for keeping us informed. It must truely be a nightmare for Suzanne & her staff but thank God she was able to salvage some of the board. Until it is up & running again, we can make do! Hope you & Eli have a great day together.

SUZYB, Don't kick youeself too hard about that piece of cake. I think if you can enjoy an occasional indulgence & then get right back OP then you've got it made. We will sometimes make uh oh's like that but it's important that we don't continue it on a regular basis that counts.

Jack-K Walking in 18 degree weather, now that is dedication! I do admire you. Hey, not feeling the toes is not good. Do get it checked out! Hope your DD feels better before heading back to school.

woodfrogs, Hey girl, 3 lbs is not bad as you said. You've been doing so well, get back OP & continue your progress...don't let that little gain keep you down. Have a great visit with your mom!

Zanne One mouthful at a time... i like your quote. That is so true, that's all we can do. I came across a couple of recipes a few days ago for broccoli slaw & a few others with broccoli that really looked appetizing. Will send the link if you're interested. Good water intake. I'm still having a problem with that but am trying to increase it.

Well, Deb's last email said the boards are back up, so I will try to post this there, but I sure have enjoyed the emails! It has been nice to get the posts that way. My inbox has truely been boring until the site went down. LOL

Thanks Suzanne for all the hard work you've done to get the site restored. We do love & appreciate you for it!

Trying to catch up on the posts I missed before.

Pancho, Congrats on getting those extra lbs back off. If your DS has a WalMart in San Diego she could ask about the Blue Bunny Yogart. They have been good here about getting things I've asked about.

Jenn28, Congrats on 7 days OP! That is great. Keep it up & that scale will be moving downward soon!

Chrisd, Yea, 59 sounds like a heat wave compared to some of the temps reported here, even our 30's in SW LA! LOL I don't take the cold well. My feet are freezing even with warm socks & slippers inside the house. Sure donm't want to be outside where it's still windy. Yes, lentils are ok.

Toni48, Hang in there girl, that 1/2 lb lose will soon be a whole lb & more! I'll bet that wood heater feels good in that cold, huh?

What's going all my SB friends lost in Cyberland????I missed you all!! Well, anyway, it's good to be back on the board. I weighed over the weekend and was down 2 pounds, so I am counting that for my WIW. I have to go to the gyn. tommorrow and I am sure she will weigh me. I just can't step on the scale 2 days in a row. Eating has been pretty on plan, as well as exercise. I am still working with my trainer and can't believe I have been training for a year now. It has made such a difference. I am happy to report that I am only 13 pounds from goal. That will make an even 100 pounds lost. It has been very slow, but I am very grateful it has been that way. I have learned so much about myself in the past 3 years, and I feel if I had lost the weight really quickly, I would have been short changing myself in the lessons I've learned. That's just my personality though. Immediate gratification just doesn't help me in the long run....

Melf- Congrats on the 1 pound loss. That is SUPER!!!!

Toni- half a pound is great. I am a firm believer that slow is the best way to lose it.

Chrisd- Good for you and your 3 days on plan!!! Yes, lentils are Ok. How's Dominic?

Fillise- Glad to see you are recovering. Good for you on getting the weight back down, despite being sick and unable to exercise!!!

woodfrogs- here's hoping that vacation weight will come off in no time!!!

Jenn28- I can relate a lot to what you usually post. I used to take thyroid meds, but after being on SB a while was able to get off of it. I think the problem was more with my glucose affecting my weight. It's difficult to determine calories needed, because people are so different. I am 28, 5ft 7, exercise 5 days a week, and find that to continue losing, I can eat approx 1800 calories a day. I also limit my starchy carbs to no more than one a day. I find this makes a big difference. Good luck to you. Your menu looks great. To keep track of your calories, try using www.fitday.com. I find it helps.

Pancho- I also eat dannon Light n fit creamy. No added sugars, and better than Blue Bunny in my opinion.

Deb- I have missed you. Thanks for your work in helping get our posts back up and all your fabulous communication during these past few days. What would we do without you???

Hello to CountryMom, Julia, BOB(please let me know how you are!), Toni, Fruit & JACKK(I've missed you!), Gatorgal, SEF, Heartmom, and everyone else. Have a great day----Ashley

WOW ASHLEY that is great that you only have 13 more to go. i cannot wait to get to that point. i have soooo much more to go. But this is the way to do it...I would change my way of eating for anything. I love this way and will be doing it forever.
Dominic is doing good. Still in those lovely terrible 2's..but from some stories I hear it could be way worse than what I have. thanks for asking!

MELF - The wind is the worst part of it...wouldnt be so bad if the wind wasnt so bad...keep them feet warm!

Glad to see some folks are losing!
I am at 212 ugh!! That's about 8 pounds that I put on since Thanksgiving. Well day after Xmas I was 215 so I lost 2 pounds since last week. I have found that even though I'm eating legal I am eating huge portions! Guess I'm detoxify again. It's freezing here in Connecticut!
