Default WIW

WIW was better than I expected but still nothing to write home about. 159.......can you believe I lost 7 pounds of water weight over night.....praise God cause I was crushed when I snuck a late night weigh in. Off to munch goodies with my family....gonna try to stay legal and just enjoy the company. Hope you all had a wonderful safe evening last night. We stayed in with friends...ate too much and just had a good time.

I look forward to the scales moving down this year.

Love,

BTW, it takes my 'puter about 45 seconds to bring up the SB pages now. When I click on "submit reply" my computer just sits there for 45 seconds until the main page appears. I can't even get to another website during that time. Hmmm.

HiedieHo All!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!

I know it's not FF and for some Christmas is over (for other's not until 12th Day or Little Christmas or King's Day, whatever you call it, fill in) but I am sitting here alone and read this joke and practically peed myself! So excuse me for wanting to share the experience even though it's not FF!

Subject: Christmas with Louise...

This is an article submitted to the Louisville Sentinel contest to find out who had the wildest Christmas dinner. This won first prize.___

Christmas with Louise

As a joke, my brother used to hang a pair of panty hose over his fireplace before Christmas. He said all he wanted was for Santa to fill them. What they say about Santa checking the list twice must be true because every Christmas morning, although Jay's kids' stockings were overflowed, his poor pantyhose hung sadly empty.

One year I decided to make his dream come true. I put on sunglasses and went in search of an inflatable love doll. They don't sell those things at Wal-Mart. I had to go to an adult bookstore downtown._ If you've never been in an X-rated store, don't go. You'll only confuse yourself. I was there an hour saying things like, "What does this do?" "You're kidding me!" "Who would buy that?"_ Finally, I made it to the inflatable doll section. I wanted to buy a standard, uncomplicated doll that could also substitute as a
passenger in my truck so I could use the car pool lane during rush hour.

Finding what I wanted was difficult. Love dolls come in many different models. The top of the line, according to the side of the box, could do things I'd only seen in a book on animal husbandry. I settled for "Lovable Louise." She was at the bottom of the price scale.

To call Louise a "doll" took a huge leap of imagination._ On Christmas Eve, with the help of an old bicycle pump, Louise came to life._ My sister-in-law was in on the plan and let me in during the wee morning hours, long after Santa had come and gone, I filled the dangling pantyhose with Louise's pliant legs and bottom. I also ate some cookies and drank what remained of a glass of milk on a nearby tray. I went home, and giggled for a couple of hours.

The next morning my brother called to say that Santa had been to his house and left a present that had made him VERY happy but had left the dog confused. She would bark, start to walk away, then come back and bark some more. We all agreed that Louise should remain in her panty hose so the rest of the family could admire her when they came over for the traditional Christmas dinner.

My grandmother noticed Louise the moment she walked in the door. "What the **** is that?" she asked. My brother quickly explained, "It's a doll."_ "Who would play with something like that?" Granny snapped. I had several candidates in mind, but kept my mouth shut. "Where are her clothes?" We steered her into the dining room. But Granny was relentless. "Why doesn't she have any teeth?" Again, I could have answered, but why would I? It was Christmas and no one wanted to ride in the back of the ambulance saying, Hang on Granny! Hang on!"_

My grandfather, a delightful old man with poor eyesight, sidled up to me and said, "Hey, who's the naked gal by the fireplace?" I told him she was Jay's friend._ A few minutes later I noticed Grandpa by the mantel, talking to Louise._ Not just talking, but actually
flirting._ It was then that we realized this might be Grandpa's last
Christmas at home.

The dinner went well. We made the usual small talk about who had died, who was dying, and who should be killed, when suddenly Louise made a noise that sounded a lot like my father in the bathroom in the morning. Then she lurched from the panty hose, flew around the room twice, and fell in a heap in front of the sofa.

The cat screamed. I passed cranberry sauce through my nose, and Grandpa ran across the room, fell to his knees, and began
administering mouth to mouth resuscitation. My brother fell back over his chair and wet his pants and Granny threw up in her_ napkin, stomped out of the room, and sat in the car.

It was indeed a Christmas to treasure and remember._ Later in my brother's garage, we conducted a thorough examination to decide the cause of Louise's collapse._ We discovered that Louise had suffered from a hot ember to the back of her right thigh._ Fortunately, thanks to a wonder drug called duct tape, we restored her to perfect health.

Louise went on to star in several bachelor party movies. I think Grandpa still calls her whenever he can get out of the house.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Hi, This is from yesterday (12/31) and I will send this on and type more later. I wish you all a very Happy New
Year!
My husband asked to take me out to lunch today. At first, I said no but later I felt guilty and we went to a nice
neighborhood place. I should have had the chicken breast and spinach salad but I branched out and had the angel
hair pasta with the pecan crusted chicken breast (it probably had some white flour in with the pecans) with a basil
pesto sauce. It was delicious and I did leave more than half of the pasta on the plate. I hope my 1/2 pound did not
get used up so quickly. Tonight we will be staying in and have a light dinner.

Tomorrow morning I am having Deb’s Crustless Quiche and Champagne while I watch the parade. Just a very
little champagne. I will mix together the ingredients tonight and just need to bake the quiche tomorrow.

Melf: Hey, roommate.....there will be no talk of not coming to the Florida get together. I am looking forward to
harassing you! You will be happy to hear that I will wait to start the cortisone until after the Florida visit. I picked
up the pills today and asked for the complete information sheet. I could be doing most anything after taking those
things. I bet it would not be fun to room with someone who is up and weird all night. We did get a bit of bad
weather yesterday afternoon. My husband was out in it but it did not turn out to be as bad as they thought it might
be. I think the weather has moved on over to our GA friends.

Jack-K: The program I use to record is called DietPower. I have had it for years and continued to use it. I think
you have to get it from their website. When I bought it, I called the company directly and had them send me a CD
instead of downloading it from the web. That was I can use it on my computer here as well as NC. I don’t know
how much it costs since I bought mine so long ago. I bet you can put dietpower into google and find it.

Deb: You will be happy to hear that you can now legally have your green bananas. It is on page 100 in the chapter
call stocking your pantry. I am having trouble finding the Fearn Spice Cake here. I wonder if they are
discontinuing it. I hope not! I will look for it while I am there if we happen into a store.

Heartmom: I think I am too late to help you with your party for tonight, but I hope you came out of it all right. I
would think that the hamburger meat would be fine and your idea of the salad and bun sounds like you have it
covered. Let us know. I will be wishing you well.

Catlover: I am so happy to see my south Texas buddy back. Our goal weights are similar. I hope we both achieve
them this year. We need to work on them.....they are important enough for us to find a way.

Bye for now.

HiedieHo All!!

How is everyone the morning after the night before? As usual we took our champaign and sat on the front lawn to watch the neighborhood fireworks, then went to bed. As you can tell we are real party animals!

SCOOBY: I'm with you, the best seat for a concert, show or game is in front of the TV. Although I do like to go to the theater, when I can afford it.

DEB: Prayers for your GGA and your family. Unfortunately pancreatic cancer is a rapid spreading disease. I have worked with dying patients, usually they are more at peace than family members. All you can do is be supportive, you're good at that.....just a more difficult situation for you.

SWEET: I have used the Brown Sugar Twin and it has worked just fine but does have an after taste if you sprinkle on too much. I usedn it on acorn squash. Maybe in baked goods it would be less noticeable.

LADY: Seems you have had an interesting life. More and more grandparents are becoming parents of their grandchildren. I worked for 10 years with TBIs in rehab from coma I level to discharge. Many people forget about the family members and what they go through. Ypu have my prayers. This woe is very good, no stress because it is a more normal way of eating. I feel so much better since being on SB and of course I've lost weight! You're not screwed up, that's the way the board works, newest reply last.

MELF: You're so good. I plan to go back OP tomorrow. I promise.

JACKK: Apparently I didn't reach you with my hand, you're being good today and I have failed. DS made beignets for breakfast and I enjoyed every bite. I promise tomorrow!

TRANQUIL: Glad you are feeling a little better.

NOMORE: WELCOME!

BOB: Pass PAterno!?! In longevity or wins. I'm from the NE, go Nittany Lions!

Okay my backside is sore! Sitting too long. I know some of you like to exercise. As I've said before, I'm old but have good memories so here's a list to help you burn those calories!

Debbie: Drat, you burst my bubble by pointing out that pineapple juice aka pineapple is illegal. Those cookies are getting me through. I eat maybe one or two a day.

Sef: Thanks for the info on the brn sugar twin. I may try it in some baking just to see what happens.

Went with h to get some staples, SGWW flour, ww lasagna noodles for a recipe in the SB cookbook etc. He is really into this so hope he has some good numbers on Friday when we weigh.

It has been so wet here in Oregon, I had forgotten how bad it can be. We have had mild winters for about 4 years now. Today is for laying back and relaxing.

Dinner is Succulent Poached Fish from the SB cookbook, anyone ever try it? I am going to try MOST of them and be adventurous. I have been a picky eater all my life ie no mushroom, bell peppers, onions, shell fish, and lots of combinations of things that I did not want to try. I am venturing out there now. Hope I like this stuff or I will have to starve. Am going to make my own tortillas as we eat them a lot.

Good luck to everyone in the New Year.

Happy New Year Everyone

Like the looks of the new board. You're right, DEB, the green buttons sure do stand out. I got to the board last night to post & they were in the process of doing the update on it, so I went to bed.

Had a depressing evening & stayed down in the dumps all day today at work. Back hurting & my spirits are really low. One of the nusres from the night shift asked if I had a hormone imbalance & I started boohooing. Not a good way to start a new year, huh?

Anyway, I did get on the scale this morning & found that it is going back down. Should be better tomorrow, as I didn't even have lunch today. Didn't think it would stay down. Gave it to dh instead. Think I'll fix oatmeal tonight for supper.

Debelli, I was not treatening to stay home, just that I have to really buckle down to business & get this weight off BEFORE my trip to the DD. :O Going shopping tomorrow for things I need & will start packing soon.

Heart, The mud fight sounds really stress relieving Do you feel better now?

Mel Go ahead & face the music. You've done so well with your fitness workout that it won't take you long to get back down to pre-holiday weight.

BOB, I'm so sorry to hear about your team. Sounds like they did pretty bad.

Ruth, Seems like I do remember you posting last year. Hope you stay with us. Sounds like you've done really well with this WOE. Keep up the good work.

Scooby, cleaning out the pantry is a good start. Sounds like you're ready!

Toni, I sympathize with you about the feeling low problem. Not sure why, but I'm having the same kind of problem here. Maybe it's the cold. No, I know what it is...it's the holiday blues. I don't do well with New Years. It's been a source of pain for many years now.

Well, enough of my pity party, got to go. We just took down the tree & tomorrow is another day. It will be better.

The last of my daughters friends just left. They had spent the night after seeing in the new year with lots of fireworks. Two of the guys had driven to South Carolina to get fireworks and put on quite a display in the cul de sac at midnight. I am hoping for a repeat on Fourth of July. No need to fight the crowds when you can have your own show right out front....

We had Honey Baked ham, homemade SGWW rolls, collards, peas and brown rice for dinner. I now have a terrible craving for some chocolate. I even went so far as to look up chocolate truffle recipes! I am wondering if I can make them totally out of legal 70% chocolate! Why not?

JACK: I use DietPower too! I just got the new upgrade. It has some new features I like, like the water minder, that keeps track of your water intake. I would not pay full price for it, but got it when they were running a sale of only $10 to upgrade.

BOB: Oh, dear! I sure hope the Dawgs don't blow it. I am afraid to watch the game! My sister in law went to it...how brave she is!

HEART: Mud fight?! Sounds like a blast! Hope you feel all destressed from it!

I can't believe, I miss a whole page of posts! :O

Country, So glad you lost those water weight lbs. I could hear your disappointment in you last post yesterday!

Gator, Wonder why you're having so much problems loading pages? Not having any trouble here.

Shirley, you are a JEWEL! Thanks for not only making me smaile, but for the best laugh I've had in several days! Thanks for posting that article

YellowRose, See my note to Deb in previous post. You could not keep me away from FL next week! I jsut was stressed about the weight gain & want to be looking & feeling my best when I get there! Looking forward to meeting you & being room-mates!

Jack-K, BOB is right, Weight Commander is great. I have it too. Really like it. I found that I've been about the same weight as I was last year at this time. It gives you today, last month, 3 months ago, & 1 year ago's weights at a glance. Also lets you journal & does other things as well. Well worth the $10.00.

Catlover, Glad to see you posting again. Hope this is the year you get down to goal.

Monet, Hope you enjoy the fireworks!

Shirley, where do you get some of this stuff??? You're a riot! You have made my day.

Well, now that I've seen the last page, I'm out of here, but in a much better frame of mind than when I came to the board. Thanks everyone for cheering me up even though you didn't know that's what you were going to do when you all posted.

Hi,

I had a nice quiet New Year's eve and had a great surprise when I weighed 1/2 pound less this morning. Today, I have stayed on program with Debbie's Quiche and smoked pork chops. Unless the salt gets me, from the pork chops, I hope to continue on the good road.

Deb: For us fashion plates out here, what color are our Team Sugar Buster T-shirts? How do the sizes look? I looked up the weather and it is still too far out to be sure but it is looking good for that weekend. I'm really getting excited about coming.

Melf: Just wait til Florida, that will surely cheer you up.

I am going to watch the show about the wedding dress this evening because the ads looked good. Anyone else watching?

LYN,
Thanks for the reminder about the movie..I was wondering if I needed to go out for a movie to watch...this will be much cheaper!

MELF...Just the smiling faces that will crowd around you in the hotel room will be enough to cheer you up!

I'm going to put my big ole tired arse in the four poster...I've done nothing to be worn out about, BUT...it's dragging!
