VR- I know exactly what you mean about the sweets and other things!

MEL- Sorry about your ankle- I sprained mine last year- I could have sworn it was broken- and it didn't get back right for about 6 weeks. Hopefully, that won't be your case.

I stayed legal today- but I overdid it on the starchy carbs- I ate 2 baked sweet potatoes- they were sooo good and I hadn't had them in forever. I ate one at lunch and one at supper. I just hope it doesn't show on the scales tomorrow- especially since it said 216 this morning- only 4 more pounds to go before I'm back on track(I hope).

Meliris--I tried the stirfried veggies this afternoon as you suggested. It worked great. I basically steamed them for a few minutes and then drizzled 1 tsp. of the sesame oil over them. Lots less calories. Thanks for the hint.

Welcome back VR.

Mel--I just read about your sprain. I know how po’d you are. It is disaster, but only for a couple of weeks or so. A little disaster when considered in the grand scheme of things. We are so sorry you can’t come. Remember, R.I.C.E.

Fillise--I wasn’t surprised about Grossman’s decision to leave. A bigger loss, I think, is our noseguard who is leaving. We will have a lot of holes next year and linemen are questionable. I think it will be a long season!

Sweetbeater--Yes, I eat SB pancakes and they are wonderful!!! One egg, 1/4 C cottage cheese, 3 T raw oats (old fashioned kind), a little salt, sweetener if desired, and a bit of vanilla. Whirl in the blender and you have the fixins for about 5 dollar sized pancakes. I top mine with cut up fresh fruit. They really are yummy and lo-cal also. I also have SF syrup and use that occasionally.

Well, I didn’t get in my walk today. We left for church at 8:30 and got home about 12. We worked in the butterfly garden redoing a section where I have a bog plant. The plastic container that the plant was in began to leak and it was no longer boggy. So we had to put in another container. That took a while, and with that and lunch, we barely had enough time to get ready to go lead the small group we are a part of and that meets Sunday nights. We got home about 8 pm. Sundays may end up being that “day of rest” where I simply don’t walk for lack of time.

Fixed a delicious casserole tonight to take to the small group get together. Bits of pork cooked with onions and garlic and mushrooms, with broth and sherry. Sour cream stirred in and then all mixed with a bowl of brown rice. Topped with parmesan cheese and heated in the oven until bubbly. One of my favorites. But I just had a nibble because it is not low cal and so was not on my food plan right now. But everyone else loved it and I didn’t have any leftover that I had to bring home. Actually, I had a ton of brown rice left over after our new years party and this was a good way to use it all up.

Well, gotta go and do some studying.
Hang in there Debbie. We’re looking forward to seeing you. I know you’ve worked hard for this weekend. See you Friday.

Gator Gal: That was a PANCAKE recipe? No, really? I do not recognize those ingrediants as being in any pancakes I have ever eaten. Hmmm, maybe I will be brave and try it though. Thanks

Meliris, I soooo sorry to hear of your fall & injury. I can only imagine your disappointment. I was really looking forward to meeting you. Of course we understand. Will miss you. Thoughts & prayers heading your way.

BOB, O poohie! How dissapointing that we will not have your presence there too But it is certainly understandable that you must choose to care for your mom ahead of being with us. Sometimes we must make hard decisions like that.

Monet, I wouldn't be stressing over the packing except that I have to work all these hours before I can even think of getting everything ready. I just learned that I'll need to be at the airport by 4am That means I will have to leave here about 3:15 am Then I checked to see if I'll be getting a meal in-flight but I'll need to pack a fruit & protein bar in my carry-on. I hope that is allowed!

Jack-k thanks for the compilment on my picture. Made me blush!

Got to get to bed for another early morning. Night all

HiedieHo All!!

FILLISE: I had no choice! I was going from 8 rooms, bath and a half to 4 rooms, one bath. Then when I moved in with kids I downsized again! Believe me the special ones, like handmade, and Shiny Brights. I kept. I still have our first Christmas tree topper from 1959! The Shiny Brights are that old too!

TONI: Do you find cleaning the GF grill a problem? Ear feeling much better, the old fashioned remedy of warm oil and heat compress is doing the trick.

SWEET: Try SF Smuckers jelly on your waffles etc. Polaner's also make it.

Nothing new. Just checking in. Worked on a jigzaw puzzle a bit.

MEL: Hope ankle is feeling better. I wound up on crutches years ago, from a sprain. I was about 20 and was teaching my GS troop how to polka, I also taught then first aid!

Take care.

Shirley
