The barber pole went up today! WOOHOO Tomorrow my dad is hooking it up with electricity so it lights up and spins! I went to see my sign today at the sign shop and started crying. I can't believe it...finally my own shop...Broadway Barber and Salon. Broadway because that's the name of the street. And my theme is a lighthouse painted like a barber pole because our town is sort of famous for our lighthouse. So, I have the barber pole lighthouse on the sign. I'll post a picture soon. The only one I have is on my phone.
Anyhow...tomorrow's the last day to prepare before opening. Don't worry, I'll still be on here posting. I could never go without YOU guys. Besides, I'll need the support once I get in a groove and stop eating Chef Boyardee for dinner.
I am back from north Georgia. I actually got back about two hours ago but Tom had grilled some salmon for dinner so we sat and ate and talked. We had a productive day. I made some square accessories to go with my square plates I am making, so I will have probably a set of service for at least four when it is all done.
Not much else going on...I need to go down and work some tonight, so I will get off here and get going! I have some orders to fill!

ADD whipped topping; stir gently until well blended. Pour into prepared pan; smooth top with spatula. Refrigerate 4 hours or until set. Remove side of pan just before serving. Store leftover cheesecake in refrigerator.
This is so good. I've had with all different kinds of jello. I don't use the graham cracker crumbs.
We have a wedding tomorrow and Sunday I was supposed to help work at a house tour with my DD, but they have too many volunteers so we don't have to work but can still tour the houses if we want. Thy are some big, rich, outlandish houses in the city. We will probably hit a couple, but I don't want to run all over town.
Monet, wow sounds like you are going great selling your wares. How wonderful. I think oif you everytime I come into my kitchen and see my jar.
Tech, I am so excited foryou. Sounds like you are ready to go. I know you will have great success. I agree with Monet, you need some cookies or something for your grand opening.
Rosemary, Hoping the concert goes well. Things will settle down and you can get back on track.
Toni, Another 2 pounds is awesome. That recipe sounds delish.
Okay, the cupboards are up and filled with shampoo and towels, the shelf with hooks is up and sporting my clippers and blowdryer, my drawer is filled with clips, clipper attachments and fun stuff like a new pair of scissors, the barber pole is live and spinning and lites up. Sign is up over the door. Hours are posted in the window. All that is left is the panic attack I had earlier, wondering if Viggo Mortensen is going to come in for a haircut because his father lives around the corner from us and his mother lives in the town over and he spends a lot of time here in Cape Vincent. I'll seriously crap my pants if he came in my door looking for a haircut. I might be able to speak legible words, but I would never be able to keep my hands from shaking long enough for a haircut. Oh my gawd, I would just pass out. He's in the grocery store all the time. And the post office and different places.
On the other hand, my parents had two guys come in today lookign for a haircut. I was in Watertown getting my last minute supplies. I am SO going to do well in this location. I'm so excited. I just really hope Viggo doesn't come in...I dont' think I"d survive it.
Okay, I'm off for the weekend. Did I mention the Sabres game? (yes, probably a FEW times!!) So, I'll be back on Monday after my first day at the shop!!

I have a lazy day planned...just a trip to the ceramic supply store for a few things, some throwing, and firing the kiln. I may get a haircut and while I am there, wish that I lived in Cape Vincent so Kris could cut it for me!

Howdy all. Did our grocery shopping today and got lots of fresh veggies and fruits. I'm all set for the coming week. Along with the chicken and fish I got it should be easy going, LOL. We just had beans I'd cooked over an open fire for dinner. I had froze them and thawed them today. They were sure good.
Thin- Loved the pictures. Your kids are sure growing.
Bob- Hope you had a good day watching the game.
Monet- Did you get my pm I sent?
Tech- I'm so excited for you. Can't wait to hear about the first day.

Evening! I had a busy day! I ran to the ceramic supply store and bought a bunch of stuff. I cleaned in the garagio, and then threw plates. I had 8, but messed up 2 of them trying to 'fix' them, so I only have six now.
THIN: Thanks for posting the pics! How is school going for you?
TONI: Yes! I got your PM. I am glad you got the package. Try those bread crumbs on pork tenderloin that has been cut across the grain and beaten flat, then dipped in flour, egg, then the crumbs and sauteed until done in olive oil Oh my is it good!
