  • Happy Birthday, Fruitloupe!
  • Just a sec before they turn off the computers.

Bob, hope you start feeling better soon. Lets hope for a better weekend of football all around.

Monet, happy anniversary. 31 years is a big accompishment today. May you have at least 31 more together.

Sararose, put the day behind you and start anew. That is a secret. I don't seem to grasp well. I think it is a license to eat whatever until Monday.

Sef, sorry about the car. I hate car trouble. Hope it is just the battery. Congrats on the l lb gone.

Toni, I agree with you. Anything to make cleanup easy is my way. I will have to get some of those bags.

Missy, enjoy your weekend out. Is this the first time out w/o with both kiddies?

Well I didn't take notes and switched pages so being old, I can't remember who else posted. Hope I didn't miss anyone.

    Talk to you Friday.
  • Hello all & thanks for the birthday wishes. I was in NC for a long labor day weekend with my parents. just got back last night. I had a good day--quiet, but good.

I'm happy to report that mom is doing well. All her tests show that the tumors are "asleep" and she she gets a few more months of no chemo. She loves that! We went to the NC State game on Saturday and she did great. She was pretty wiped out on Sunday, but then we all were.

Missy--Happy belated birthday to you! You can't be old when you are chasing two little ones. They will keep you young! LSU looked good on Thursday.

    BOB--Uh-oh. I was pulling for UT--honest, I was!

Monet--Sounds like the mom-in-law is keeping you busy!

Solly--Thanks for the birthday wishes! It's a "9" brithday, so it is the LAST one I will be acknowleding.

SEF--Sounds like you are busy as usual.

    Toni--Hey!

    Hello to everyone.

    Susan
  • Kids back at school today... ...I hate when they're gone.

I took Kyle to his classroom and lo and behold...they didn't have a hook for his backpack with his name on it. Everyone else did but Kyle. I said, here we go again. Derek wanted me to go back and raise the roof but I just don't want the trouble we had last year. And, worse yet, the boy that sits right next to Kyle was supposed to repeat kindergarten last year, but his parents put him through to first, anyway. Then you have Kyle who wrote out his entire list of 'what I did this summer' by himself without even asking how to spell the words (this is one of the items on the list the way he spelled it...I lerned the state capitales...pretty good for a first grader, I think!!) and this boy is very behind...and liked to pick on Kyle last year terribly..I think because since Kyle is so smart, this boy has to make himself feel better after Kyle makes him feel not so smart just from seeing Kyle read the way he does. So, there Kyle sits...poised to get in trouble next to this trouble maker. Here we go again.

Okay...off to clean the house...now that the kids are gone...
  • Well It's official <sigh>, I'm sick, I finally caught the crud, sore throat, fever, chills totally feel like a train ran over me. Felt it coming on the last couple of days and yesterday it finally really hit me. I left work early, dragged in today but feel like a chewed up rug. I soothed my ills last night with Fried Chicken of all things, needless to say no exercise last night and there probably wont be any til I get to feeling better. Gotta attend a boring mandatory meeting in a couple of minutes. OH JOY...NOT!!!

    Rosemary
  • Aw, sounds like Rosemary and Tech are not having great days.

Mine is ok so far. My daughter's father in law has written a book about his son, and Amazon has it listed. Complete with a picture of the cover, with my son in law and grandson's picture on it!

I am going to go get in the pool. I am hot and sticky and feeling like someone rolled over me with a Mack truck.

  • Dang it I lost my whole post. This laptop is crazy. I just got done having breakfast of a half ww bagel with whipped cream cheese on it. Now I'm enjoying some coffee. My morning is running late. As usual.

Monet - Happy anniversery to you! Wow 31 years is great. Glad you got some power back on.

Tech- Sorry about Kyle having such a bad first day.

Rosemary-Hope you feel better and get back on track with your eating soon.

    Solly- Hurry back.....

    Fillise- Howdy gal.

Got to run... Have a happy day. Wish I was swimming Monet.
  • HELLO...EVERY BUDDY!!

I had a late day today and then had to stop at the grocery. After being sick all weekend, I didn't get out to shop so we needed everything. I was completely out of things to fix for lunch.

I'm feeling back to normal today. I think the antibiotics finally started working. SARA...I sure hope you're not getting what I had...it's a rough one. It's now going around my office...keep all fingers crossed that I don't get it again!!

I'm off to fix some supper...what??? I just don't know

My TEAM plays AIR FORCE this weekend at home. I don't know anything about that team so everything will be a surprise as it happens. Then the week after is THE FLORIDA GAME!!! One of the DOCS has already started on me so I've decided that I'm going to sing ROCKY TOP to him every chance I get next week!

I'll check in a little later...

    HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY MONET!!!

    BOB
  • I hope you guys keep your sickies down there! Just in time for school to start, out comes the illnesses!!

Well, Kyle had a good time at school today. I coached him to totally ignore the little boy next to him (unless he's being nice) and to not let him get him into trouble. He's the type of kid that pokes Kyle till he gets mad and then guess who's got their name on the board...Kyle. And there is a new boy in Kyle's class with the last name of MCCONAUGHEY!!! I told Kyle to tell the boy to bring his uncle Matthew to school for show and tell. Actually, it's spelled differently, so I'm sure there's no uncle Matt to talk about...I just like saying things like, "that McConaughey boy"...its cool.

Shelley went to school today with her new red streaks I put in her hair this weekend. They look totally awesome. It looks like Little Mermaid hair. And it totally fits her personality.

So, the day was off to a sketchy start, but finished off just fine. I even went to the mall to exchange some jeans of Shelley's and to check out the new store Hollister's. I hate it. First off, it's so DARK I can't even see the clothes OR the price tags. I went in with Shelley earlier in the week and it was so crowded I had to check it out with hardly anyone in the store...VERY over priced and the clothes seem very chincy and only meant for the very, very skinny. I left with nothing and went to Sears. Much more up my alley.

Okay...have dishes to wash. Will be back soon!!
  • Also, I'm happy there is a new boy in Kyle's class because he really needs a good friend and who better than a new kid that really needs a good friend, too. Shelley, also, has a new girl in her class and the poor girl vomited during an assembly today in front of her whole class. Poor thing. I would have wanted to die. So, Shelley wholeheartedly agrees that this girl could be her new best friend, as she'll also be looking for a good friend and Shelley really has been desperate for a 'best' friend. She has many friends, but none that are close enough to even have called her to come visit over the summer. She invited a few to the beach with us and for an over night or two, but nobody called her once to come to their house. And one girl in her class lives right next door! Shelley walks outside and the girl totally ignores her. So, I'm optimistic for both kids with new friends.

    Okay...washing dishes...
  • Well, I did it again. I put the intricately carved porcelain vase in the kiln and thought I was firing nice and slow, but I was sitting there working and heard an explosion. I peeked in the kiln (the lid was still propped open) and there was my beautiful vase, totally blown into rubble. I turned off the kiln and came upstairs. I had hours and hours invested in that piece. It looked awesome. I feel so totally STUPID.

I feel very frustrated. I listed three more items on Etsy, but I seem to be the only potter who is not selling anything. I feel so discouraged.

Sorry to whine. Eating has been so so. Dinner tonight was chicken and broccoli stir fry and a peach. I got in 45 minutes of water aerobics too.

Ok, off to sit in the corner and cry.
  • Oh holy moly I got on the scale this afternoon and have lost three lbs. I'm so excited. I think I'll start weighing on Wednesdays again I seem to do better. I think I eat red meat on the week ends and it makes a difference on Monday's. It sure gave me the boost I need. Tomorrow I'll change my ticker. I had a big chef's salad for dinner. It was so good. Of course now I'd like to snack. Guess I'd better go to bed instead.

Monet-I'm so sorry about your beautiful vase. I wish you could post the website here I would love to see your stuff.

Tech-I hope your kids have a great year at school.

Bob-Don't over do. Rest, rest, rest.....

    Sleep well everyone.
  • Monet - How frustrating for you to lose that vase. I took an elective class in ceramics many moons ago in high school. Let me just say art of any type has never been my forte, But I did take pride in a very lop sided ceramic pot I brought home to my granny. She somehow managed to plant something in it and displayed it on her front porch for many years.

Toni, I just noticed that you are in Onederland! Under 200 that must really feel great. I'm salivating to just get under 250 sigh. Dont know why but since I'm sick, I have been really munching just out of frustration. I do feel slightly better today.

    Rosemary
  • Hello; Is anybody home????????? Where are you sugar busters. Rosemary looks like you're doing good with your weight too. I'm so excited to get close to the 180's. Well guess I'll go do the laundry..
  • Just breezing through. I have spent a good bit of time in the garagio today. I fired the kiln and will glaze and fire tomorrow. I have a lot to get done!

Eating was good. I had an English muffin with whipped cream cheese for lunch, and a handful of peanuts. Breakfast was a protein smoothie. Dinner will be roast beef and broccoli.

My daughter works for a dentist and today she brought me home some old dental tools to use for my porcelain carving. They work GREAT! Now I have to send the dentist a present...maybe a mug.
